When a player goes on hiatus, their character can either be placed on autopilot or disappear. If they disappeared, they simply reappear in their bedroom at the end of the hiatus with a vague memory of smelling stale air and metal.

Hiatuses are allowed for two weeks, though can be extended for the whole month if necessary. Any hiatus under two weeks will still need to make the activity check requirements. A hiatus of two weeks will reduce the requirement by half to one post or two threads of fifteen or more comments. Players on hiatus for the whole month are exempt from activity check.

A month is the maximum hiatus allowed, unless there are extenuating circumstances (such as a family death). If you believe you need longer than a month, please contact a moderator and this will be dealt with on a case to case basis.

If you are on hiatus during AC period (1st-5th of every month), you may ask a fellow player to submit your AC for you if you are not exempt. Please do not submit retroactive hiatus requests, the exception to this would be computer trouble where it becomes impossible to submit a hiatus or ask another player to submit it for you.
