Abilities/Powers:Handy dandy move list! Tsubaki, being the only daughter of a noble and incredibly powerful family, has spent most of her time studying. She's not very strong and though she has great reflexes and stamina, without her weapon, the Izayoi, she wouldn't last very long in a fight. She grew up as any proper young lady and any training in combat she received was strictly during her academic days. Despite this, while not physically strong, she's still incredibly intelligent. She uses her intelligence along with great reactionary time, stamina, and because she's quite nimble, she is able to perform long combos. They're still fairly weak, but she can easy manage juggling a person with multiple "normal" (without invoking her Drive) attacks.
Her weapon has multiple parts to it. The hat she wears, the short sword, and the shield all make up the Sealed Weapon Izayoi. The different parts can them take the shape of other weapons. The sword, for example, can become and lance or chain-sword. It's normally kept locked up and can only be opened with the blood of someone of the Yayoi family. The weapon is extremely powerful and allows the user to control light itself. but the cost of using it is that it steals the light from the user's eyes. Through continued use, the weapon can eventually kill the wielder. Not only can the weapon manipulate light, but it also draws in waves from all over the electromagnetic spectrum, meaning it can interfere with things like radio signals. It's powerful enough to create a section in the world where even the all-seeing observers, Takamagahara, cannot see.
Fun fact: the weapon is sentient, though not in the way that it can talk and move around on it's own. In Chrono Phantasma, the Izayoi has completely taken over Tsubaki's body and acts on it's own.
Tsubaki's Drive is called "Install". With it, Tsubaki is able to charge up her weapon and then swoop in and deliver a devastatingly amount of damage with her combos. The way it works is that, she literally charges up her weapon by gather light waves while fighting before going in and using the gathered energy to pound down on an opponent.
Items/Weapons: The three parts of Izayoi (sword, shield, hat) Sample Entry: Hello? Captain Hazama, this is First Lieutenant Tsubaki Yayoi, can you read me? [A beat] Strange...
[Tsubaki takes a moment to look around and observe her surroundings.] How did I get here? Was it some type of Ars? [She frowns.] My communication Ars don't seem to be working and I have no idea where I am, this can't be good.
[Well, time for a walk. Tsubaki is ever on her guard as she explores a bit.] I'm...pretty sure this isn't. Kagutsuchi. Seriously, how did I ever end up here? I don't remember...
[She pauses, confused. Taking a deep breath, Tsubaki readjusts her clothes and pulls up her hood. When she reaches for her mask, she realizes it's not around.] Great, don't tell me I lost it! I sincerely hope that is not the case. [She shakes her head]
In any case, I don't have time to be lost. Because of....whatever reason...I'm now here and have completely lost sight of Noel. [Her frown deepens and she looks angry]
I will fulfill my duty as a member of the NOL and see this mission to it's completion, to that I'm sure.
Sample Entry Two: Silently, Tsubaki made her way around Kagutsuchi looking for her targets. Well, she didn't want to think of them as targets, no matter what they were still her very dear friends. Why they had chosen her to do this. The Yayoi and Kisaragi families were always close, surely they knew... But perhaps it was because of the Izayoi? Tsubaki sighed at the thought, she didn't like the idea of killing two people very close to her. She had to complete her orders but...wasn't there some other way? Wasn't there a solution where she didn't have to kill them? Couldn't she just bring them back? Tsubaki sighed again, frustrated. She paused and adjusted her cloak when she heard something. Taking a quick look around, she couldn't find anyone and proceeded to look for either Jin or Noel. There was he noise again and this time, Tsubaki had an idea of where it was coming from. Quickly summoning Izayoi, Tsubaki dashed down the street and turned the corner into the alleyway, sword at the ready. Out of all the things she'd been suspecting, this one was not one of them. She froze at the sight of a young boy staring up at her in fear. It took Tsubaki a second to realize what was happening and as soon as she did, Izayoi disappeared again.
"Sorry. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." The boy was still cowering on the ground, Tsubaki hastily removed her mask, realizing that it probably didn't help. It wasn't...frightening exactly (at least she didn't think so) but it wasn't exactly friendly either. She knelt down to the boy's level and offered her hand out. When the young boy took her hand, she gently smiled and nodded, pulling the boy up on his feet. She really hadn't meant to point the weapon at the boy, but she was on edge and automatically thought the noises she heard were from an enemy of some sort. When the boy didn't let go of Tsubaki's hand, she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and tugged a bit. The boy only held on tighter. She wasn't sure of what to do, she'd never really been around children. She was an only child and anyone that she had been around was older than her. Her only experience was in the academy with Carl, but the boy was so mature for his age, it was almost as if he was as old as them.
"What's wrong?" Suddenly the little started crying. Internally, Tsubaki was almost panicking. She didn't know what to do, did she really scare him that bad? She apologized again, but he just shook his head and in a small voice told her that he was lost. Relieved that she wasn't the cause for his grief, Tsubaki gently patted the young boy's shoulder and told him she'd help him look for his guardian. The little boy nodded and loosened his grip just a bit on the young NOL officer. Deciding that the he probably needed the support, Tsubaki wrapped her fingers around his small hand and started walking around, determined to find the boy's parents. She knew that she was wasting time and that she could get in trouble, but she didn't have the heart to just leave the boy behind like that. When people needed her, Tsubaki tried her best to help. Nearly an hour later, they had made it to Ronin-Gai and the boy seemed to brighten up a bit. He recognized the place and explained to the Lieutenant that he lived here. It wasn't much longer before he ran into people he knew. It turned out that many of the children here were orphans after the Ikagura war. He had somehow lost his way and ended up far from home. Tsubaki smiled the children. Unexpectedly, the young boy was hugging her, his arms were around her hips and he thanked her, though it was muffled by the material of her cloak. To say she was surprised was an understatement but Tsubaki recovered quickly and patted the boy's head, telling him she was happy they found his home.
On her way out, Tsubaki sighed as she put her mask back into place. She'd used up a lot of time. Honestly, she wished she could just go back there and play with the children, to forget that she had this horrible duty to attend to. She didn't want to, but she had to. It was an order from the Imperator, after all.
