Abilities/Powers: Diego's power is called Scary Monster and primarily allows him to transform into a dinosaur. Though his vision, smell, hearing, and reflexes are all greatly enhanced even while partially transformed to the point where he can dodge bullets, he loses the ability to perceive slow-moving objects or objects that are stationary, automatically disregarding them as potential threats. When fully transformed, he's essentially an intelligent velociraptor, still capable of basic problemsolving (like "force my enemies to move by using smaller dinosaurs to sniff them out and bite them"); the main distinguishing feature (you know, to set him apart from all the other dinosaurs running around) is that his tail has markings that look like DIO written all over it (which might disappear in Haven? Important Questions). When partially transformed, he maintains a general human appearance, though the tail appears and his fingers become more clawlike. His mouth also usually splits open to his ears and scales begin to show on his face and arms. He is able to wrap his tail around things ("things" being people's throats) though it is not particularly dexterous. When transformed, both fully and partially, he's very skilled at climbing things (usually buildings), doing fancy flips and dodges, and generally slashing at things with his claws.

He also begins to show the ability to transform organisms, living or dead, into dinosaurs like spreading an infection through hitting them. He uses this most often to turn small rodents into tiny raptors, which can track specific scents for him and follow his orders. These raptors appear to be particularly weak-- they're usually about rat-sized and are killed in one hit, though Diego doesn't seem to get damaged when his raptors are attacked. Throughout the series, he also turns his horse into a dinosaur, makes... dinosaur fleas, and turns a dead bear carcass into a living dinosaur. Then his powers start getting really off the wall crazy and he turns a few unconscious guards into dinosaur lamps (??? this is a weird chapter in general) or fossils to get their bodies out of the way. It's unknown if he has any control over these transformed people because he only ever uses it once he's already knocked them out. This is a pretty stupid use of his power and only shows up once so I'm totally fine with pretending it doesn't work on other humans if you are. Likewise, he starts pulling raptors out of nowhere towards the end, but I'm going to say he needs some sort of organic thing to transform, even if it's dead already.

Also he can swallow rocks to aid in digestion and spit them up later, gross gastroliths.

Sample Entry Two:
He wakes up in an unfamiliar bed with a noise clanging in his ear, staring at the ceiling and trying to connect it to the last thing he remembered. It was the president's body falling below his, the ground rushing up towards them as the train flew by, and he was sure not to land on top of the president, sure that there was nothing he could use to go "between," sure that the president had died before hitting the tracks--

He holds his hands up in front of him, pressing his fingers together like wheels running over a rail; it'd be enough for Funny Valentine, and it'd also be enough that he, Dio, falling alongside him, would...

He whips off the blanket to stare down at himself, the mounting fear subsiding immediately when he saw his body in one piece. Hot Pants, then; she’d followed through, she’d been useful one last time, it didn't matter if he remembers his legs meters away from him. That settled, he lashes out at the source of the sound, sending a clock clattering to the floor in pieces, and leaping out of bed to find out just how far he was from his horse.

The view out the window is unfamiliar to him, with neither a hint of a train nor the Atlantic Ocean, nor any signs of racers struggling to catch up with his pace. So Valentine had escaped, and from the looks of it, brought him along somewhere else, to another universe. It meant starting over, that all the damage he had dealt would need to be repeated, but he could still track Lucy Steel’s scent, and he’d find them soon enough. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap would still be active (or else he's stranded, but he's Diego Brando, he can't be stranded in some backwater universe while the president escapes, so he doesn't give it another thought) so it's simply a matter of returning, tracking her down, and finishing the job.

With that in mind, he whips the blanket off the bed, flips it to drape over his shoulders like a cape, and jumps-- the president can do it with a flag and the ground, so it should work just fine.
