There are a few things you begin to learn in a world populated by titans. Firstly, that staying still usually means death. Secondly, that the ground is the absolute worst place to be. Not that he can see any overt threats at the moment, but Armin's well aware of how quickly a situation can take a turn for the worst. As soon as he wakes up, he puts his gear on -- after the obligatory confusion and the quick search for his friends, that is. He takes to the rooftops. It doesn't feel much safer when there are so many unknown variables to be accounted for, but it's better than nothing.
He tries not to panic, because it does nothing to help the situation, and over time he's learned to repress some of the blind terror and replace it with a sense of purpose. As long as he has that, he can manage to get through the chaos and death of their expeditions beyond the walls. And for now, Armin lands on the roof of a house to give himself a space to think. The wood is decrepit under his feet, it's rotting and falling apart. He searches for something more stable.
Alright, think. He needs to consolidate whatever information he has about this place, and the situation he's in. The name of this town is probably Haven -- there was a sign when he woke up. It's abandoned and likely hasn't been occupied in a very long time, but it doesn't look like Trost after the Wall Rose was breached. The damage to it looks more like disrepair than ruin.
What else does he know? The last thing he remembers was successfully rescuing Eren from Bertholdt and Reiner. Returning back to safety. Hearing Jean rattle off death statistics. The link between how he woke up here is something else that Armin would like to piece together.
And the last part of knowledge that he has is also an item that he's never seen before. He crouches on the rooftop and holds it in front of him, and curiosity finally gets the best of him when he flips the phone open and watches the screen light up by itself. There are pictures of people under a heading that reads CONTACTS, most of them unfamiliar. But it's the picture of Eren that catches his eye. He takes a deep breath and clicks CALL.
He's not exactly sure what's going to happen, but he figures it's worth a shot.
( I'm so, so sorry for that oversight on my part. Thank you so much for your patience! )
