Personality:
Despite being a straight man for all of his younger brother's antics, Tadashi still had some fun growing up. He became interested and fascinated with building things at a young age. He used to buy those figures that you could set up on your own, and eventually, he started buying actual remote-controlled robots that he had to build on his own before playing with them. Those were his ways of having fun as a child. He loved tinkering with objects and playing around with them, because the final product was always fun. And also, it never failed to captivate his younger brother!

While he had a penchant for tinkering and inventing things, he was not exactly born a genius. He experienced things being difficult for him, and he achieved things like how a normal person would: through hard work and dedication. When he and his brother were younger, Tadashi was fiddling with a robot that he was trying to make. He had the blueprints ready and everything, and just needed to put the screws together and whatnot. He left to get something from downstairs, and after that short span of time, he came back to the robot all ready to go and it was even fully functional! His brother Hiro had apparently played around with it while he was gone. And that was when Tadashi realised his own brother's genius. Note that Hiro was probably around five years old at at that time. And yet, he could do such big things!

Tadashi loved and cherished his brother a lot; it was just the two of them, after all. When he found out that his younger brother had so much potential in him, there were only two things that needed to be done:

1) Have all the shenanigans! Two heads are better than one! Tadashi might have liked inventing things, and apparently, his brother didn't just enjoy the final product. He also liked inventing as much as Tadashi did. And this paved way for all sorts of Hamada Brothers inventions. As kids, they made a propeller jet out of their aunts laundry machine. They even made rocket powered shoes for their cat. These kids got into a lot of trouble; but they got a lot of brotherly bonding out of it.

And 2) take a step back. Tadashi was no genius, and he knew that. But his brother was! And he wasn't going to let his brother's creativity dwindle away as he did his own thing. He gave his brother a lot of leeway so he could find what he truly wanted. Tadashi just did things subtly and in his own way, leaving his brother to do all the crazy inventions and whatnot. He shared a room with his brother Hiro, and upon realising that his brother could do so many things, he just took a step back. Literally and figuratively. He gave his brother 3/4s of the attic (aka their room) so his brother could have more freedom to use his creativity.

Needless to say, Tadashi is someone who is absolutely caring. He's a very pleasant and humble dude all around, and makes friends rather easily. Even though he enjoys watching Tokusatsu and Super Sentai, he never intended to make things that would make him transform or things that could do harm to people. He's not the kind of inventor who would make another Godzilla, or build robots and A.I. that could potentially revolt and destroy mankind. Instead, he builds and make things that would help people. His latest project was Baymax—a personal healthcare companion—whom he called a huggable nurse robot.

Tadashi is a bit of a beauty queen in that sense. If you asked him what he wants most in life, he would respond like a model would. "I want world peace. I want to help every single human being on earth." He'd give you that kind of stuff. He is just utterly pleasant. He's very down to earth, and polite; the type of guy who would hold doors open for other people. He doesn't like seeing people getting hurt - physically, emotionally, or mentally. Even if he did nothing wrong, he would still feel guilty if someone was in any sort of pain. In school, they were asked to invent something that would help the household. Tadashi thought no further and came up with blueprints for a robot that would sweep the floor and take out the trash. All he really wants is to do good.

He is no pushover, though. While he is usually very calm and isn't prone to getting angry, he knows when to get serious. His cheerful and laidback personality dissipates when rules aren't being followed. He isn't a goody two-shoes by any means, but he like following rules to a T. When he finds out his brother is into gambling in bot fighting, he gets really angry and brings up the "WHAT WOULD MOM AND DAD SAY" card. He doesn't like the negative consequences when it comes to doing reckless things, and being arrested once for being involved in gambling sure made him mad!!! He used to be reckless and "act first, think later", but had to put that aside to become a better big brother. All in all, Tadashi just knows when to set the line in most situations. People can be as unflappable as they can be, but there are limits to being easygoing. Tadashi knows this best.

While he's friendly and charismatic - able to draw people to him and be overly pleasant towards them, Tadashi is pretty minimalistic with his gestures. He doesn't like receiving attention, which is a direct contrast to his younger brother who has a bit of an ego. He doesn't talk unless he needs to, which usually involves apologising for his brother, scolding his brother, or if anybody needs assistance. Of course, he still talks. He's just someone who won't initiate a conversation unless he has to. But once he gets talking, his big brother side becomes more evident than ever with the way he shows compassion and understanding towards every single thing. He's the type of guy who puts his hands behind his back; standing in a very prim and proper way. That's Tadashi—a very prim and proper young man.

He's also the type of guy who puts others before himself, and most of the time, the people around him get frustrated with it. He'd be willing to leave school in the middle of the project when he found out that his brother was doing something illegal and could get into trouble. He'd sacrifice his hard work and grades for his brother, basically. And he would most likely sacrifice what's important to him to help another person, too. Of course, the biggest sacrifice he's made to help someone: his life. Never forget. He could have escaped with his brother and headed home, but someone needed help. Tadashi had to help, and that cost him his life. And that's where his recklessness comes in… but if you look at it another way, his heart is just too good and pure that he doesn't consider the cons of how nice he is.

While he usually serves as the straight man to Hiro's crazy antics, Tadashi is not someone without a sense of humour. He's pretty snarky in his own way, and pokes fun at things if and when the situation calls for it. He finds his friend wearing one pair of underwear in four different ways to last a few days both disgusting and awesome. If that doesn't say anything about how Tadashi views fun, then I don't know what will! He does have a crazy side that's been toned done since he had to take the role of an older brother and guardian, but he is always up for some fun. His idea of fun includes building things for the sake of it being AWESOME (likely following Hiro's ideas), watching and reading a bunch of Tokusatsu/Super Sentai/Mecha shows and books, and occasionally playing sports. In fact, he has some figures of mecha in his side of the room, a broken clock of a giant robot hanging on a wall, along with some banners, and books. Whatever he's interested in has heavily influenced Hiro, so they both pretty much share the same nerd space.

Hiro calls Tadashi a "nerd", which is something Tadashi doesn't deny. He's smart and likes to read books. He might not be a genius like his brother, but he's very hardworking. He can also be very technical about things; correcting people when they say use the wrong terminology. As calm and collected as he presents himself to be, he isn't exempt from geeking out and jumping up and down when he's elated. He collects figures of robots and ninjas, and even owns a bunch of shirts with ninjas printed on them. Apart from robotics and his brother, his interests include mecha, Tokusatsu, and Japanese media.

Tadashi is a good older brother. He's kind and looks out after his younger sibling a lot, and is all in all a good role model. Although he does some questionable things, such as make tiny GPS units and sew them into every single hoodie his brother owns. It's so he knows where his brother is! And it helps him a lot because Hiro gets into trouble VERY OFTEN. There may be a lot of instances where he's frustrated with how his brother acts, but Hiro is still Hiro. They're related by blood, and he cares for and loves the boy. He'd never give up on his brother no matter the circumstances, and the same can be said with his relation with his friends. He's very loyal, and will always be there to care for his friends.

Abilities/Powers: Tadashi is a normal human being. Unlike the main characters of the Big Hero 6 movie, he isn't a self-made hero. He's a student, an inventor, and a brother. His abilities lie in his brains: he's crafty and creative (although not as creative as his brother). He's smart and is good with numbers, considering he's an engineering student. He's good at tinkering and inventing things.

His weakness would be how self-sacrificing he can be, which has already been discussed in the personality section of the application.

Other than that, he's a normal human with no supernatural abilities. He can't fight with a sword or anything, either. But there's official art of him and Hiro doing karate, so we can just infer that he has basic knowledge of the martial art.

Items/Weapons:
- A toolbox containing some screwdrivers, wrench, duct tape, etc.
- A tablet (an extra from the one he'll be receiving, if that's ok.)
- An extra set of cardigans and blazers

Sample Entry: I hope this is acceptable!

Sample Entry Two:
It may not have been his big event, but Tadashi was psyched over the fact that his younger brother was part of the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology (SFIT) Expo this year. He was never really the type to force his brother to do things, so after his brother graduated high school and didn't really intend on going to college, he didn't force the idea on Hiro. He still felt pretty disappointed in his brother for not using his talents for something better—for something that could actually benefit other people. And that was when he planned on actually showing his brother what he does in school.

Now that Hiro was enthralled about robotics as much as he was, and that he was able to get into SFIT, Tadashi's life couldn't have gotten any better. Hiro going to college, contributing to society in a good way, and making good use of his talents was more than he could ever ask for. Tadashi felt a lot of fulfillment, not just for himself, but for his brother as well.

But there was a fire, and the expo hall was going down in flames. Tadashi, being the overly concerned citizen that he was, wanted to know what was going on. And after that? He went in to the hall to try and save his professor. Despite all the heat that was making his vision blurry, and not to mention, it was just really hot, he was absolutely determined to help. Someone was there, and it was his role to make sure that person got the help that he deserved. Fire was the last thing he could remember…

Fire…

And then he opened his eyes. He didn't know where he was, nor did he care. Cellphone, okay. He grabbed that, and clicked on whatever he could. He needed to find his brother. He needed to make sure everything was okay. He needed to know if Hiro was safe.

He knew nothing, and all he could do was go with the flow. As he walked around the ship, he kept a hand at the back of his neck, rubbing it from time to time. It really was painful. He also felt pain on his back, as if his spine was cut in half. He was able to walk, though, that was the good thing.
