Abilities/Powers: Magical Girl - Sayaka made a contract with the extraterrestrial-like being known as Kyuubey to make herself into a magical girl. In short, her soul was ripped out of her body and placed into a small vessel known as a Soul Gem, which can take increasingly compact forms such as rings or small accessories. This has effectively made Sayaka's body a meat puppet that is remotely controlled by her soul within said Gem, and while she will otherwise function normally, being separated from the Gem for more than 100 meters will result in her physical body immediately dropping dead until it is returned. Incidentally, as long as the Soul Gem is preserved and has a sufficient amount of energy, any physical damage to the body up to and including decapitation and disfigurement can be healed. This is likely to take a considerable amount of magical energy depending on just how damaging the kill was. Likewise however, Sayaka will instantly and irreversibly die if the Soul Gem itself is destroyed. Until then, she will not die or age.

When the Soul Gem itself is used by Sayaka, it envelops her body and becomes her Magical Girl form, which gives her magic-boosted strength, speed, and endurance. She also has the ability to generate swords, mainly cutlasses, out of thin air to use as both melee weapons and projectiles. Her uncommon ability created by her wish is a powerful healing factor that removes major injuries that would take months to heal in but a few short seconds. She also has the ability to extend this healing factor to others and be able to heal the injuries of allies, though obviously not to the ridiculous extent her own Soul Gem allows her to.

However, this power has a price and a debt attached to it. A common rule with all magical girls from her world is that their power runs on a finite amount, and the longer one goes without a recharge, their Soul Gem will gradually blacken and become weaker, and the holder of the contract will start to suffer from increased mood swings, anger, and despair. A way to delay this loss of energy is by charging a Soul Gem with a Grief Seed from a deceased witch, but the nature of Sayaka's wish means that she has to pay for the happiness she gave Kyousuke with her own despair...as such, Sayaka's Soul Gem will lose energy faster than the average magical girl would. Should the Gem blacken completely, it will burst open and release Sayaka's soul in the form of a witch, transforming into a Grief Seed and leaving her physical body behind forever. There is no way to reverse this process (in canon, at least).

Sayaka is only aware of roughly one fourth of the problems and abilities her contract comes with, but will likely discover more of this as time goes on. Without using her magical girl form, however, Sayaka is no different or any more special than any other middle schooler her age.

Sample Entry Two: A third person sample of at least two paragraphs: Haven wasn't really a prime vacation spot, Sayaka decided. Or even a 'just stop by for a while and keep moving' kind of place. The dreary atmosphere around the buildings was almost suffocating compared to the clear glass back home, and the sheer emptiness of it all aside from the other residents didn't help much. Not only was this place incredibly creepy and unsettling, but it was boring and stagnant when it wasn't even doing anything. She compared it a little to being trapped in a witch's barrier for months on end, but at least that problem could be solved by killing the witch...and that wasn't even considering the other ways into different parts of the city.

Walking down the street with obvious tension and unease, Sayaka would come to a stop around the billboard showing the two smiling faces looking down at her from the visors of their gas masks. Attempting to ease the atmosphere a little, she'd puff her cheeks at the billboard and point accusingly at it. "Hey! What do you think you're looking at, huh?!" While this was meant to make herself look and feel brave, she quickly realized how stupid she looked yelling at a billboard. "Aha...this place is really getting to me..." She'd say with a nervous laugh and a sigh as she rubbed the side of her head a little, feeling like someone, somewhere was laughing at her for that. Still, the atmosphere of eerie silence and constant paranoia was starting to drive her crazy. It wouldn't be long before she'd start accusing trash cans of plotting sinister things.

Alright, she knew that wasn't true, but darn it she needed to think about a bright side to all of this -somehow-.

"Okay! I'm sick of wasting time out here. I'm a magical girl now, so I should be trying to find a way out of here and save everyone," Sayaka would declare, gradually reducing her voice to a mumble before her hand made a fist. "Right. First stop, the subway!" She'd add before running off in the general direction of the tunnels. It probably wasn't going to work or give her new information, she felt, but would quickly push those thoughts aside. Because she felt she could accomplish anything if she just pushed hard enough. Everyone else was just too quick to give up on their escape attempts. If they were brought here, Sayaka decided, she could definitely find a way out.

Inwardly, she couldn't think too much about being far from home without feeling sick. If nothing else, she could forget about it for a little while this way.
