oh my goodness i apologize at how terrible at apps and disorganized i am, and for not quite getting the samples right all the time. orz newbie woes! im always thankful for the help and feedback the mod team gives me! :) hopefully this'll be okay but it again might be lacking as ive been pouring over a source material that is in a language i'm not fluent in.
Personality Addendum: (below i have created paragraphs referring to the suggested information for easy reading without inclusion of the old information you may have already read. you can everything personality wise together over here [including the previous stuff] if that's better for you!)
flaws - He is physically weak, scared, and cowardly without a shield to hide behind. Luckily for him, the Gantz suit provides him enough shelter from his many weaknesses and allows him to keep them under wraps. He is also very emotionally vulnerable and will act recklessly without consideration for the consequences. When the Tanaka Alien destroys the plugs on his suit, rendering it useless, he breaks down into sobs and cries, trying feebly to do anything to scurry away and yelling for help. When he does die, the only thing he can do to save himself is to be manipulative. He asks Kurono to gain 100 points to bring him back to life, claiming he has information that would be valuable to everyone about Gantz later. This turned out not to be as much as he had made it seem to be - His lies normally catch up with him. He's good at the act of lying, but very poor at keeping up a charade over any amount of time. He is very reluctant to share information about himself or Gantz, but more so himself. It is proven he doesn't really know much about Gantz at all and only has a history with it, but he never speaks of his life outside the game. (That'd get him killed anyway! Gantz rules!) He keeps a blog about his exprieneces within Gantz, however, being careful not to breach the rules about talking about the game. However, he's not a super duper careful person, and his blog has caused trouble for other team mates, such as when he had posted Kurono's name there. (In short, a news reporter approached him and bombarded him with questions.)
his inner thoughts - Nishi possesses a God complex which is simply there to mask his fear of only being an ant or a weakling, which he certainly is without his suit and weaponry. He looks down on everyone and it is impossible to earn his respect. He does appreciate when others do things for him, however, as he had become slightly less hostile towards the Tokyo team after his revival, despite the fact he could not give the information he provided. When not spoken to, he is completely silent and very thoughtful. He sees things in metaphors and sometimes shares them (thinking of people as cattle, the world as media puppets). He also openly detests those who lie, as they remind him of his father's infidelity and what it had done to his mother. When he first meets Katou and sees him as a hypocrite, he is quick to call him on it, even getting violent. He does not think of himself as a liar and rarely does lie - he is simply someone who does not speak the whole truth.
A lot of his thoughts center on violence, as he enjoys killing aliens, people, and even stray animals. When he makes posts on his blog, they are incredibly gorey in detail and he revels in the comments he gets calling him a 'sick bastard' or people saying 'even if this is fiction it should be removed from the web.' He appears to enjoy being detested by society, as he begins to up the ante by posting pictures of dead cats, squished and spread apart by his Z-Guns. The even more outraged comments really pleased him! He has been shown to read them aloud and laugh about them, spitting back insults at the poster in his head and moving on. He has also been shown to indulge in dirty magazines, though never been shown to have any romantic interests towards a girl. He thinks a lot about the bodies of girls, both in-tact and blown apart, and is only able to feel sexual about them. He is a teen aged boy, after all! He also has a bit of a misogynistic streak and a general distrust of women.
his goals - Nishi has never touched base on having any goals, within visible thoughts, dialogue, nor had he been asked. He lives on a simply day by day basis, amusing himself in whichever ways he can by killing, enjoying pornography, and shocking others. he has no desire to leave Gantz, but he claims if he did he could do it on his own. He simply wishes to relieve his anger and hatred on anything that moves, with no real desires. He knows there is no saving him or giving him a normal life after the things he'd seen and done. He's just too afraid of death to stop living. He's been there a few times before, and he never ever wants to go again.
major events (such as his mother's death and his attempted suicide) - Unfortunately the spin-off Gantz/Minus is largely untranslated in English and my Japanese isn't the best, but as I can get out of it, he as a normal kid rushes to her to show her a good grade on a writing work from school as it would make her smile, and next he sees her, she's hung herself. It is implied she found out her husband has a lover and that Nishi was a mostly normal kid beforehand. The loss of his beloved mother drives him completely over the edge, and without much detail we learn Nishi has landed in a splatter. He previously had lived to make his mother happy, but not much is known of her aside from these two details. It is assumed he used to make very good grades in school and had a very good relationship with his mother, making her the only noteworthy relationship that had had any impact on his life. Any other major events of his past are never touched upon as the author likes to keep him as a mysterious character with dubious motives - In the manga and movie there were no flashbacks or explanations to the way he acts. He is also implied to have been a bit of a scaredy cat when he first became a Hunter for Gantz, but he's been involved so long that it seems to have jaded him completely. The combination of the loss of the person who cared for him most mixed with the violence entrenched in his formative teenage years have completely warped his perspective of everything around him.
Sample Entry 2 Take 2: Nishi watched himself fizzle into existence, a hand stretched before him sparking in and out of vision. Small, blue cracks of lightning snapped all around his body, but he felt not pain. It was simply the teatrics of the Controller. Though it granted him total invisibility from the human eye, and, yes, it was very advanced alien technology, he could tell that it seemed to be some trash the aliens who sent Gantz to them thought would suit the humans down here better. He had always had a hunch there were better things - That he was being held out on. For now, he was thankful for what they allowed him to have. It was satisfying, with so little work. The way things busted apart so suddenly... The fear in their faces as they waited out the time lag... -- No. There was no time to get worked up about it. He'd see it soon enough.
In his hand he held the Y-Gun he'd always trusted, the leather of the suit's glove meshing pleasantly between his finger and the trigger. He whet his lips, his mouth hanging open with a tight smirk to one side. His finger clashed on the trigger swiftly, the unforgiving energy netting he'd shot off wrapping tightly around the enemy. He dropped the muzzle of the gun to the ground slowly, a laugh of satisfaction leaking out. The anchors dug deep into the concrete, the alien tossing this way and that, unable to break the lines. Nishi stepped forward, tucking the Y-Gun in the holster at his left thigh. From the right he produced an X-Gun, his finger itching at the trigger. He barely managed to point it at the target without grinning, observing its vitals and heat signatures through the built-in radar.
"You shouldn't move so slow if you don't want to be caught so easily. The mission still has 10 minutes left," His demeanor was blank, as though tired, but the playfulness and excitement was evident in his eyes and twitching lips. He didn't expect the alien to return his banter, or to even understand it. He just wanted to evoke fear in the creature - To show how calm and casual he was about killing it. When he got the stirring, fearful reaction he had wanted, he smirked again.
"They way your eyes are looking at me... It feels great." At the final symbol of his murmuring, he locked his arm in place, his finger squeezed back both triggers. Without looking behind him, he took a few steps back, not really feeling like getting all full of gore that night. When he was out of the splash zone, he simply stood and watched, chunks and gore flying every which way after a short time lag. It was beautiful - The only sight in the world that could help him stop the scowling for 5 minutes. He felt elated. He felt as though the spray bursting through the air was a symbol of his elation. He couldn't wait to get home and blog about it.
