C-ta, the cool-headed, friendly character of the quartet. Between B-ko's hot headedness, A-ya's pessimistic nature, and D-ne's childlike innocence, having someone normal to talk to like C-ta is quite a relief. He's the boy who seems to be all smiles and jokes. His level-headedness can bring the group back from panic once the "game" begins. C-ta's the guy who's not too popular, but not unnoticed either, passing right in the middle. Someone who always seems to know the right thing to say at the right time, he's someone that can makes friends with incredible ease. C-ta is your ordinary, charismatic teenager-
-or at least that's what he wants you to think.
Under the friendly, charismatic exterior, lies a side of C-ta that he hides with great care. His words are always carefully chosen, to help him or to sometimes take a jab or two at a person. His clever words make him seem friendly but in truth there's very little friendship between him and another person. There's always that barrier that he holds; most of the people he knows he considers them acquaintances. Being a smooth talker and having a knack of reading people, he's able to squeeze himself out of most problems by knowing what they want to hear. The right excuse here, an explanation there, and a white lie every once in a while, and he's free. C-ta, if he wanted to, could talk his way into popularity. To do so though, is too much of a hassle, and would put him at a higher risk of being the target of nasty rumours. As someone who only seeks to keep his social life as free of complications as possible, C-ta prefers to maintain himself in the middle of the social ladder where it is the safest.
Safety, something that C-ta values and demands. Living in the same mundane routine, very little has changed for this brunet. For years he's kept the same friend and remained with him in the comfortable middle of the social life. His life has been generally without complications, because he knows how to play his cards right. The idea of losing this safety net that he has so carefully woven though, is unspeakable for him. C-ta looks for control, subtly demanding it- just because he hates the idea of not having control. Learning that his friend talking to the most popular girl in school, putting his social life (the social life that C-ta helped create!) at risk was a major blow to him. Change is a scary subject for C-ta, because he doesn't want to change, he doesn't want anything to change. In the novel, he is stuck in the past, where his best friend relied on him and he could be the invincible hero to all his problems. Long gone are those times though, as D-ne explains to him, but he won't accept it. He refuses to accept it. Moving on is simply not his forte.
C-ta is obsessive and he is possessive, both two very ugly qualities of him that he's denied and hidden so well that not even he realizes that he has. In the novel, he has one friend, A-ya. For him, C-ta would do whatever it takes, he would take a bullet for him if the chance ever arose. In C-ta's eyes, he is A-ya's invincible hero, the one who pulled all the strings to make sure that his best friend had no problems in his social life. He listens to him talk without any real interest in what he's saying- but it's A-ya, so he'll listen any ways. He's grown to rely on his friend's presence- on his friend relying on him. Without him, without anyone relying on him, he is no one- he's a parasite, who cannot live on his own. The few who have the fortune (or misfortune) to be regarded as his friends are lucky that he will give everything and anything for them. Only he's allowed to do that though, at least in his mind. Everyone else is simply a threat to him.
He is one-tracked and incredibly narrow-minded. Mixed with a fearful stubbornness, his cool headed exterior is simply a façade. God forbid that someone calls him out on any of his bad qualities because he doesn't see them. As D-ne calls him out on his obsessive nature, he vehemently denies each accusation because it's not true- it simply can't be! His narrow mindedness doesn't let him see any opinions other than his. When he's lost control or when he feels that is threatened, C-ta is rash and can jump to conclusions with an ease that can put him into an awful situation. But to return to the common, everyday life, he's willing to do anything
Abilities/Powers:
C-ta is a common run of the mill teenager so he has no supernatural abilities to talk about. Nevertheless, he has a slight skill in reading and observing people. He's no Sherlock Holmes or anything similar, but it's good. He's very easy to socialize with and can make friends with ease. He's also somewhat skilled with technology. He's also very good with a box cutter
