It looks as though nobody knows what a Ferines, much less a Radiant is—and under normal circumstances she might have been eager to play teacher, but here, in this ghost of a settlement, she pulls back.
It doesn't make sense. Coexistence can't happen without communication.
And yet—
In her absentmindedness, she nearly trips on debris. With a gasp, she rights herself before she loses balance, and now—and now her heart is palpitating, pumping adrenaline through her body as her face heats up. She touches her cheek, the tips of her fingers like cold steel against that warm flesh. She's scared.
It doesn't make sense. There are so many others here, some more eager than others to socialize and gather together for protection. There is no prejudice. There is no war within (not any she suspects, at least not to a catastrophic measure). There is nothing to be afraid of. She's grown up for three years alongside Orerines and none of her kin. She should be comfortable with this.
Her body begins to tremble ever slightly.
—but right now she's alone, and that by itself scares her to death.
