Applications Two

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED!
The next application opening date is Friday 16th January, 7pm EST.
The next application processing date is Friday 23rd January, 7pm EST.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE POST YOUR APPLICATIONS HERE ON THE NEW APPLICATION PAGE

We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.

We now have a test drive community at [community profile] haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.

While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

To see what we are looking for:

kainé ❀ nier ❀ reserved (3/4)

[personal profile] lunartears 2013-11-08 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Abilities/Powers:

Half of Kainé's body is a Shade. With Tyrann's occupation of her body, Kainé gained access to all of his power. Along with her blades, she can wield powerful magic in combat. Otherwise her dual swords are her main weapons, along with some high-heeled kicks. She is extremely fast on her feet and is rather acrobatic. Her physical strength also increased exponentially with the possession, and killing her is a huge task. Seriously. She's taken slashes across the body, giant spears right through the chest, and was able to remain standing even after taking a giant lizard fist to the upper body region. And somehow she's able to survive it all.

A lesser perk of being possessed is the fact that she is able to understand all Shades. Kind of sucks when you're trying to kill them. Also, although she does wield all this power, she's also prone to overexerting herself as seen when she collapsed after countering Hook. When she is weak (either physically or mentally), Tyrann attempts to take over her body. When this happens, her whole body becomes that of a Shade's and she goes completely berserk. Only magic is able to stop her in this form.

Sample Entry:

[Using her new phone was... well, something she did not know how to do. But punching it a few times seemed to get it to turn on. And since it was on, Kainé might as well try to demand something from it. Here goes.]

Look, I couldn't give a pig's shit how this all works, but this investigating stuff just isn't my style.

[Seeking answers from the people around here wasn't quite her thing, yet it seems like the only thing she could do right now. Honestly, it kind of pisses her off. It was irritating. But what else could she do?]

There's something I gotta do, so just tell me where the exit is. That's all.

[But then she pauses, suddenly remembering something she also needs to mention.]

Actually, if you see a guy being stalked by a flying book, or a floating skeleton around, lemme know. I'm looking for 'em.

[...]

... Thanks.

Sample Entry Two:

Through the wall that served as the village's border, she could faintly hear singing. It was the same song she always heard whenever she stopped by this place, and she didn't need to listen closely to know that. Seriously, doesn't she know any other songs by now? Kainé scoffs to herself, but really she was just trying to find something to complain about. What was she doing exactly? She was waiting outside the village for Nier and Weiss to finish up their do-goody tasks. Kainé didn't know why that guy insisted on doing so much for people all the time, but it wasn't any of her business. All she can do is shrug her shoulders and wait for him to emerge from the gates whenever he was done.

'Aw, Sunshine. If you're feeling lonely, you could always just charge the gates with those swords of yours. Bet that would send 'em a message to always let you in, hah!'

Kainé grits her teeth. That annoying asshole's voice echoes in her mind again, clear as day. It was Tyrann's voice. It was irritating whenever he spoke up, especially since she was the only one who could hear him. To think that the only "person" she could talk to here was a Shade living inside her heart. Yeah, that'll really make her popular with the villagers.

"Shut up. You know why I can't go in there." It wasn't just for her. It was for Nier's sake too. This was his home. Someone like her didn't belong in there. Someone like her wouldn't be accepted there. It would be the same old story, no matter where she goes.

'Awwww, is wittle Kainé scared that the mean ol' villagers will hate her too?'

"Just shut the fuck up." She tries to conceal the bite in her voice for nonchalance, but it doesn't work.

Now she was really irritated, and her agitation was making her impatient. Tapping a heeled foot on the ground for what felt like centuries, she finally gave up and let out a frustrated sigh. It didn't seem like Nier was going to be here anytime soon, so taking both her swords into her hands, she went looking for some Shades to dice up. If anything, it'd satisfy Tyrann and help her calm down. She'd make sure to be quick about it.

Wisely { D.Gray-man } not reserved

[personal profile] cupid 2013-11-08 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Wisely, like the rest of the Noah, is irrefutably an antagonist. His reedeming qualities are very few if any. However, his origins were perhaps a bit pitiful. Little is known about his human existence, including his name, except that he was 17 years old, a hobo on the streets of 19th century London. Immediately after awakening as the 5th disciple, he kills the policemen who had come over to help him when he had collapsed from an excruciating headache. He shows no remorse for the horrific deed whatsoever, or really for any horrible thing he does.

He is a sadistic character in that he delights in the pain and troubles of others. Occasionally he even hurts others in excess when there isn't even a reason. For example, he injures Kanda significantly simply because he thought he looked tough and wanted to look out for himself (on top of that, he knew that Kanda would regenerate and thus didn't see what the problem was). However, unlike his Noah family members, Wisely is also quite lazy. He claims that his inaction is because he's not a fighter, but really he doesn't act because he chooses not to act. In fact, he also gets a lot of enjoyment out of simply observing the others torment the Black Order and its exorcists. That's not to say he isn't capable of doing any damage himself, or that he doesn't enjoy it. Mental suffering is far more delightful for Wisely and being able to read minds makes that extremely easy. A lot of the time he doesn't make any overly enlightening commentary, but when he's in the midst of a personal attack on someone, he can be surprisingly eloquent and sharp-tongued.

Outside of that, he does have the attitude of a typical teenage boy. His personality is a bit bratty and sometimes he's difficult just for the sake of being difficult. Not only does he make life difficult for his enemies but he's not exactly an angel toward his allies either. Wisely can be extremely useful, but he can also make himself useless for reasons as small as not wanting to exert too much effort. Wisely is cocky because he has access to the thoughts and memories of others and thus it is difficult to hide from him (except in certain cases, such as Alma's mind, which is blocked -- this is why he uses Kanda instead). He is also a liar, according to his adoptive uncle Tyki. Though Wisely claims that he respects the privacy of his fellow Noah, Tyki claims that this is not true, and that Wisely will not discriminate and reads the thoughts of "almost everybody".

Wisely's Noah memory was damaged so severely when the 14th disciple betrayed them that it took him 35 years to regenerate. This is seen as somewhat unusual. Another thing that is unique to Wisely and The Earl Millenium is that he has allowed his reincarnated memory to engulf his human identity. Unlike Cyril, Tyki, and the others, he (because of his Demon Eye) and the Earl (because he is 7000 years old) do not identify by any other name. Wisely expresses that doing so is a "very human reaction", thus suggesting once more that he holds little regard toward his actions and their consequences, and he does not hold emotional attachments as a human being would. He claimed to find the 35-year-later-future boring, but fully allowed his former life to be swallowed up.

All in all, Wisely just has a bad personality. He is a formidable opponent but not without his weaknesses. Because of his Demon Eye, he suffers from painful headaches even in Noah form. They are not constant, but also not difficult to trigger. He is shown no sympathy from his family members, and quite frankly with his brattiness, he doesn't really deserve it. He's also teased often for his eyes or the long turban he has wrapped around his head that sort of obscures two of his eyes (he's called Turban Head and other things by allies and enemies alike). His life as a hobo is also a bit of a running gag, as he's shown to be dirty, disheveled, or both (which drives Cyril crazy since Tyki's habits are also dirty). Wisely probably just doesn't care much about personal hygeine. He is known to talk to himself a lot, to the confusion of those around him. This is because he's actually having one-sided conversations with the person whose mind he's read, as he doesn't really find it necessary to have them reply.

For as little "screen"time as he has compared to the other characters in the series so far, Wisely manages to be a fairly rounded villain. He is obviously a terrible being but also a fair bit of comedic relief, with his random commentary, personal sufferings, and various amusing reactions to the antics around him with an array of expressions.

Abilities/Powers:
Wisely is a Noah and thus able to command akuma (demons), which he is seen doing at a more recent canon point. He is also immune to being infected by akuma, and can destroy Innocence simply by touching it. This is only really relevant to good-guy characters from his canon, as Innocence is a(n extremely complicated) sort of holy substance/weapon used by the Order.

As the 5th disciple, he also possesses a Demon Eye (actually he has 5 eyes total). This enables him to read the minds of others. He can also "crush" the heads of people by sort of overloading their brains and making them implode. His victims begin to bleed from their eyes, ears, noses, and mouths before their heads pretty much literally explode.

Lastly, Wisely can project memories from one person's mind into others so they are able to see it. For example, he enters Kanda's head and shows Allen, Alma, and Rhode the memories of Kanda's past, as well as reasonings for things he did which were not clear before (during this time, only Wisely is capable of moving ... although he doesn't. Notably it's also possible for the target to force themselves to move if they have enough power/strength, as Allen does when he gets furious at Kanda).

Items/Weapons: His frog, Gamako. Being as Wisely was a hobo, he doesn't have much else to bring....
Sample Entry:
[ wisely seems to be broadcasting from his bed. he's dressed in a large, hoboish looking coat and then cocooned in a blanket. although he seems to be rather happy. ] That Haven North is actually really good isn't it.

[ he holds up a small plastic bottle and gives it a playful shake. by the sound it appears to be medication, although he's treating it like some kind of rare, precious candy. ] To think that this kind of thing can exist, and made by humans. Or maybe it is a gift from God. Either way ... [ he pops the little cap off and falls back onto the bed, dumping probably a lot of the bottle's contents into his mouth and crunching it like candy too. the camera very briefly shows a few other aspirin-like bottles (empty) around him. and although it may seem like he's just eaten all of these at once, they span over the entire time he's been back from the place. he just really is that dirty. and gross. ] I'd almost say it's worth losing the Earl. ... But of course I would never think something so horrible. ♥

Sample Entry Two:
The irritating BEEPBEEPBEEP of the alarm clock was more like metal pins scraping across metal plates to Wisely, who had never heard such a terrible sound before let alone even seen an electric alarm clock before. It startled him awake with a pitiful groan that was accompanied by the terrified croaking of Gamako. The affronted amphibian companion who had formerly been nested in the fifth disciple's hair lept to safety as the Noah in question rose up as if from the grave in a sudden panic.

It would take him a few moments, but with some effort, he was eventually able to start allowing the pieces of this situation to fall into place. First of all, he never even had the frog with him. Secondly, he had definitely not been sleeping. Lastly—

"Ah."

He leaned forward against the bed in order to drop his head down as if to peer underneath it. No Cyril anywhere. Hadn't they been trying to pull the Millennium Earl up from falling during that whole big shebang back in America? It had been interesting indeed. The story that was unfolding, that is, not the strain he felt in his poor arms and his back and his legs trying to pull the Earl's weight back toward safety. This was kind of a problem, wasn't it? He sat back against the bed again, finally peering around at the unfamiliar faces in the other beds (although he already knew their names).

This was really some weird kind of sleepover, he decided. He was more interested in finding that alarm thing and destroying it simply for piece of mind. Ever since that annoying Fourteenth burst out of his hold, he'd been nursing a terrible pain in his head. The shrill, loud, intrusive sound coming from that small suspicious box was more than enough to offend him.

"I guess this means we dropped The Millennium Earl." He spoke lazily with a shrug of his shoulders, rolling his legs out from under him. Like always he was talking to himself, but this time the exception was that he had not just read anyone's mind. He would find that thing and take care of it. He had some time. He deserved the rest anyway. Wisely slid off the bed and to his feet, preparing to carry out his mission. Right now he was far more interested in that than in his neighbors (but then that could always come later).

"I'm sure he has enough padding that it didn't hurt that bad anyway." He could hardly be blamed for this right?

Rin Okumura | Ao no Exorcist | Reserved

[personal profile] exwire 2013-11-08 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Name: Rin Okumura
Canon: Ao no Exorcist
Canon Point: Post Chapter 50
Background/History: http://aonoexorcist.wikia.com/wiki/Rin_Okumura
Personality:

Rin was born the son of Satan and a human woman, a fact that he didn't learn until he was a teenager. While his power was sealed away inside a sword, making it inaccessible to him, his status as a half-demon still complicated his life ever since he was a child. Though he did not not know of his demonic blood, he was always different from others, far stronger than other children and more prone to angry outbursts. This lead to others viewing him as a monstrous, uncontrollable child, even if his tantrums and violent outbursts were unintentional. He was stygmatized and marginalized, causing him to have very few friends.

For most of his life, then, his guiding figure was his father, Shiro Fujimoto. Shiro was the priest at a local church and, unbeknowst to Rin, a powerful exorcist. He carefully took watch over both Rin and his twin brother, Yukio, although the exact circumstances behind that arrangement still remain somewhat unclear. Nonetheless it was through Shiro's unconditional love and guidance that Rin grew to be able to control himself, becoming a (somewhat) proper young man. Although he still had a hard time getting along with others and finding his place in the world, he was more or less content just being with his father and brother.

That changed the day he finally became aware of his heritage as the son of Satan, a sequence of events that claimed his father's life and sent him from his home. Scarecly able to believe the truth about himself, yet faced with undeniable proof, Rin swore that he would use his power as a son of Satan to defeat his true father. To that end, he enrolled in True Cross Academy, where he would train to become an exorcist in his father's footsteps. Yet despite making his proclamation, Rin remained afraid of his power and his background, subconsciously trying to deny it as a part of himself even as he grew ever increasingly reliant on it. Throughout the course of the story, he slowly comes to accept and recognize his demonic side as an integral part of him, embracing a power that he once had a deepseated fear of.

Despite his status as a demon, Rin is a fairly jovial and energetic boy, often times too much so for his own good. He approaches his problems, and life in general, with a sense of cheerful exuberance... quick to try to get along with others and make friends, even if those attempts often backfire. In a sense, at times, he can almost be too cheerful, putting people off and creeping them out with his dimwitted naivety. As Rin rarely had a place where he felt he belonged in his life, True Cross Academy finally provides this for him, allowing him to try to live more normally and make friends (even as he prepares to be an exorcist on the side).

Rin isn't particularly intelligent, though he can have his moments. He seems to simply get by on dumb luck and his own strength, as well as with the cooperation of his friends. His relationship with his twin brother, Yukio, is particualrly important. Unlike Rin, Yukio has no demonic powers, and has known about their true heritage from a young age. As a result, Yukio became an exorcist in secret, and is both Rin's superior and teacher at True Cross Academy. Though the two brothers are undoubtedly close, the secrets they keep from one another clearly color their relationship. As twin brothers, they also have a strong and everpresent rivalry, with both trying to surpass the other. Rin sees Yukio in an almost idealized fashion, as well as a target for him to reach and surpass. At the same time, he still does his best to look after him as his younger brother (despite their relationship often seeming like the reverse).

Kind and naive to a fault, Rin can best be characterized as exterme in most of his actions. Whenever he chooses to do anything, he tends to do it to an extreme degree. In a sense he lacks basic notions of common sense, or simply tends to ignore them. He's rather reckless and haphazard, preferring to tackle problems head on without much thought or concern. Of course, this gets him into trouble more often than not, and often requires that he be helped or saved by others. At the same time, as a son of Satan, he believes its his responsibility to protect and look after others through the use of his power. While he is hardly proud of its origins, he sees the power as something special that he has that he must use to keep others safe. He's fiercely protective of his friends and those around him, even to the point of caring little about his own safety. In a way he places others above himself, if only because he isn't the type to worry about himself much.

As a student he isn't particularly adept, often scoring abysmally on tests and bemoaning having to study. Instead, his fortes lie elsewhere. He's a very good cook, a skill that he's honed since a young age by cooking for his family. Beyond that, he also shows a high level of affinity and empathy towards other people, able to relate and bond with them despite his rather odd behavior. This empathy gives him an unusual sense of charisma, where he's able to draw other people to him, even those that think he's an idiot (which, yes, he is).

Abilities/Powers:

To preface this section, Rin's abilities change fairly dramatically based on whether his demonic powers are sealed or not. His powers are unsealed whenever his draws his demon sword, Kurikara. Although his powers can leak out even when the sword is sheathed, he only truly takes on his demonic form when the sword is unsheathed.

Rin has always had extraordinary strength, even when his powers are sealed. He's able to lift and carry much more than a normal human is capable of, including entire cars. This strength increases when he takes on his demonic form, but it's always incredibly high. As a demon, he also heals very quickly, able to regenerate from mortal injuries in mere moments. In canon, he's had blades thrust entirely through his body, only for the wounds to heal almost immediately once the weapons are removed.

His main power, however, and the trademark of the series, are his blue flames. Blue flames are considered the flames of Satan, and thus far in the series have only been shown to be wielded by Rin and his biological father. These flames can emerge when his sword is sheathed, though they tend to do so only in minor ways. When the sword is unsheathed, the flames truly emerging, using erupting all around Rin's body. Blue flames are incredibly destructive and effective against other demons, and can be controlled by Rin at will. Although he has not completely mastered his use of the flames, it has been shown that he can control what they burn and what they don't - for instance, he can use his flames to burn off a person's clothing without actually harming the person.

He's also demonstrated an extremely high level of power when he loses control of himself, basically giving into his demonic nature and acting like a berserk feral beast. Though this doesn't happen often in canon, the few times it has probably demonstrate the sheer extent of Rin's potential strength.

Items/Weapons:

1. Kurikaya, the demon sword that acts as the seal on Rin's abilities.
2. A hair clip he received from Bon to pin his hair up.
3. A stuffed animal of Kuro, his cat familiar

Sample Entry:

Test Drive Thread.

Sample Entry Two:

"Aaaaaaah, this sucks."

Rin Okumura wasn't really the type to sit around complaining about things often, but he found himself doing that all the same. Sitting atop a cracked and broken wall, his sword draped across his body and resting atop his shoulder, he simply watched as various people passed by, observing them going about their daily business.

His arrival in Haven had been abrupt, a whirlwind of confusion and questions, but before long he'd come to understand what was going on and calmed down. Well, perhaps saying he understood his situation was exaggerating a bit, but he'd come to have a grasp on some of the basic tenets of this place. Mainly the fact that he was here now, and no matter what he did he wouldn't be able to leave.

That was troublesome enough, but he'd been in the middle of something important before coming here... okay, the sightseeing and festival going wasn't really that important, but he'd been a vital mission to save one of his friends. A mission he still intended on seeing through as soon as he could, if not for this strange diversion. If there was one thing that was truly important to Rin, it was his friends. He and Izumo weren't the closest of the cram school students, but she was still an important friend to him... and definitely someone he was driven to try and save.

"How am I supposed to do that here?" he squinted, startling a passerby with the sudden question that didn't make much sense. Rin blinked upon receiving the startled look, before simply smiling and waving at the person, who quickly continued on his way to do whatever he was in the middle of doing. Hm... well, that was another person who probably thought Rin was a weirdo, but Rin had never been in the habit of worrying too much about things like that.

He stood up again, balancing himself atop the cracked wall, before glancing around in the various directions. This situation really wasn't ideal, but sitting around bemoaning it really wasn't getting him anywhere. He could just imagine the lecture he'd get from his brother if Yukio ever found out he'd spent so much time just moping about, not doing anything to try to improve things around him.

"Alright, Yukio, I get it, I get it," he grumbled, waving off the imaginary nagging. "I'm going, I'm going." Though his responses to a conversation that wasn't actually happening were probably some cause for concern, they at least managed to shake Rin out of his funk. If this place was really as bad as everyone said it was, clearly it just needed a Grade A exorcist to make things better... well, Rin wasn't exactly that, but he would do his best anyway.

Personality:

❝ Strike! ❞

Forging an ambiguous assumption on first impressions and/or upon preliminary encounters, Lavi immediately strikes those around him as a factitious and flippant individual. Following this more “shallow” perception, he correspondingly doesn’t appear to be very affected by the gravity or solemnity that inevitably surrounds him. Nor does he seem to allow himself to be swallowed in by all the inherent grief and despair that obdurately encircles him, as objectively horrifying as the all the events may be. If anything, he primarily shows himself to be exceptionally vivid and playful instead! This can be detected in the way he labeled Allen as “beansprout,” per Kanda’s comments on their “newly” established comrade. Or even in how he braided Kanda’s hair on the train ride to their next location. Whatever he does is often laced with the “pure” intent of delivering good-natured teasing and lighthearted mischief.

In addition to this, he seems to speak his mind whenever he deems it necessary, and rambles on even when its not. He’s comfortable with communicating with others and does so often, running his mouth whenever possible. Even to a point where even the Bookman has to step in to keep him from revealing classified or sensitive information to their roles.

But, his usual shenanigans aside, he also gives the general impression that he’s the type of person to inconsiderately establish his own pace, and gradually run with it. Whether this is seen in him dictating one-sided conversations with Allen, particularly about all the beautiful women he's encountered on his travels (which, is implied to have taken several hours???). Or even in his chiding of ostensibly “rude” remarks about Lenalee and her clear lack of “potential” to obtain a lover with her ‘prudish’ and ‘unsexy’ attitude, despite traveling through a “collapsing” tower in an attempt to confront the Noah and complete their mission. However, even with the horrible timing, there are more than a handful of occasions where this part of his personality actually helps to ease the tension around him, and allow for some breathing space. Equally, despite his jokes, he is more than proficient of staying focused, and doing what is required of him and his “role” (which will later be expanded on, and appropriately so).

Still continuing on a parallel tangent, Lavi is emotive and expressive with both his feelings and observations on a matter. Likewise, he’s not entirely against voicing his opinions, and releasing his “sentiments” or general “outlook” on various subjects. Even giving obligatory advice where he finds essential, such as chastising Allen about how “defenseless” he was by venturing through a crowd with his injured eye (as Allen had no way of detecting Akuma in such a case). However, even out of these types of scenarios, this character trait could be applied to a lot of non-serious scenarios, as well. Actually, one might even say that this is actually more prevalent in his interactions with the opposite sex.

Simply put, Lavi is easily suckered in by the “beauty” of the women around him, and is usually vocally communicative about his appreciation towards them. This is mostly the case with women who are his type (though, in the anime, it’s noted his “type” is significantly “broader” than it is in the manga, or at least he’s more animated about it). This doesn’t mean he’s “lenient” on them in battle, however, as he’s more than qualified to separate the two when absolutely crucial.

Moreover, while he normally projects himself to appear blunt and straightforward, with a general feeling of “transparency” coating his every word and action, that’s far from the reality of his “true” character. He’s far more dubious and cynical than he allows others to realize, and he’s far more “reserved” and “apathetic” than those around him might credit him for.

❝ I don’t know, yeah? I’m suspicious of everything. I’m always suspicious of everyone around me. Someone I met yesterday could be an Akuma today. Cause that’s the type of thing we’re up against. You should understand that, Allen. We’re at an overwhelming disadvantage. We’re different from you. Not having that convenient eye. The other Excorcists and I... we end up looking at all humans as the Earl’s minions. ❞

Despite how he behaves on the surface, he is, truthfully, exceedingly wary of what’s occurring around him. Lavi is aware of the gravity of the situation they're in, and has a good grasp on the conditions that they’ve been inexplicably involved in. Overall, even if he may not know the most suitable course of action for each issue they run into, he's definitely the kind of person who is constantly thinking about it.Moreover, while he may show to retain an affirmative and progressive attitude to everything, he’s actually more realistic than he allows himself to display.

Actually, even with his usual exuberant and vigorous character, Lavi is also more adaptable, flexible, and tactical than others may recognize or fathom. This can even be seen in the general uses of his weapon. While most just achieve varying degrees of the same sort of power, his weapon is blessed with versatility in what it’s genuinely able to do. Bluntly and quite modestly put, his weapon can attain victory or assist in accomplishing this is several ways, whether in shifting the environment around them to be more advantageous or in sheer firepower and force. To give a specific example of this, in his fight at sea, seeing as how brute strength did absolutely nothing against an unseen enemy, he used his powers to clear the clouds in the sky and utilized wind to push away other obstructions in his path.

Nevertheless, temporarily placing combat abilities aside, he's also gifted with a tremendously clever mind, and a robust intellectual background. Likewise, as he has a lot of specialized expertise in the “past,” he’s full of “experience” and the cognizance not many others possess. Branching off from this, though this tends to elude a fair amount of characters in the series, his usage of his acquired wisdom was honestly intended for the purpose of meeting his primary objective in obtaining the official title of— “Bookman.”

❝ A Bookman has no need for a heart. ❞

Essentially, in the series and in their universe, a “Bookman” is supposed to be unbiased existences used for the single aim of recording “unwritten” history. As such, there isn’t room for inaccuracies, subjective thoughts, or private feelings. As spoken by the current “Bookman,” a Bookman should be unaltered and unaffected. They must approach matters impartially, and most of all, they shouldn’t possess a heart.

Naturally, Lavi is no exception to this rule.

At first, he accomplished this rather well by putting up a façade and acting appropriately for the position he obediently took on. He viewed others disinterestedly and was largely dispassionate about what they had to offer the human civilization as a whole. He didn't necessarily seem interested in placing secondary thoughts to what their goals actually meant or pondering its value, either. If anything, he was far more concerned with his own interests. To add to this, at that point in time, Lavi was already extremely well informed of the world around him and its history, and could basically conclude or draw out how things tended to work out with humans involved, and how people really were. He was already, more often than not, revolted and nauseated of the intolerable ways in which humans would engage in conflict; absolutely sick of the way humanity as a whole would incessantly insist on remaining stagnant, or better yet, worse off. Being the “eyes” of all that had transpired, he grew progressively jaded.

But, knowing he had a “duty,” he continually kept up his front— firm on doing was necessary for the “Bookman” clan.

❝ The time spent in the Order passed on.
I soon came to a point where I didn’t know whether my smiling face was a lie or not. ❞

However, his conviction steadily splintered off, and he changed drastically within the continual presence of the other Exorcists within the Black Order. He wavered and thinned, and it became genuinely difficult for him to remain as neutral and unaffected as he once was. And while, he chiefly became an Exorcist due to the sole consolation of “experiencing” history firsthand, he could no longer find the blind resolve to indiscriminately follow this ambition. He could no longer consider them “ink on paper,” or “just a part of unwritten history.” They were beyond that, and he truly treasured the bonds he developed with them.

Lavi’s confrontation with Road, in many ways, exemplifies the latter points. It also seems to exhibit the actual alteration of his thought process and motivations. The battle with Road during the Tower Arc also went on to expand his inner turmoil, and his constant sense of self-reproach. In this, he repetitively wondered why he “deviated” so far from the other 48 who preceded him, and “why being the 49th” was the hardest?”

He also acknowledged he once thought he was “above” their “feeble species,” and how he was inherently “different” from them. But, now, even with their “temporary” connection, he could no longer stand by and merely “observe” his allies/comrade perish. Even at the expense of forcefully extinguishing his own life in order to save theirs. He found that he’s become emotional, reckless and unreasonable, but most of all— he’s become wholly attached. And he could no longer deceive himself over this matter.

As one can probably see from his various trials and tribulations, Lavi is not the type of individual that can be purely judged according to his exterior. He has multiple motivations, and is constantly undergoing a series of unforeseen, and nearly undetectable conflicts. But, if one thing could be made entirely clear is that he may not be the “ideal” Bookman, but he’s accomplished quite a bit in terms learning to value friendship, and cohesively working to achieve a common goal as a result.

Abilities/Powers:

Innocence: Created from unknown matter, substance, and composition, the Innocence is often referred to as an “Anti-Akuma Weapon.” This furtive compound is noted to be the one true driving force of the Black Order, and is currently the only “weapon” capable of being able to defeat and purify an Akuma. Additionally, it’s also the sole power that Exorcists are granted with, and the only source of an indefinite means of obtaining a marginal “edge” over the Millennium Earl. Throughout its extensive and considerably rich history it was often labeled under a variety of titles, however, it was often pondered upon to be a fraction of the “Crystal of God,” and is considered to be the complete opposite of the “Dark Matter,” the opposing faction created by the Earl appears to use so arduously.

Innocence comes in numerous forms, and are unique to its specific “owner,” or “Accommodator.” There’s other points about Innocence involving its “root” or “heart,” as well as other factors such a synchronization, but as that’s not acutely necessary to be able describe the actual abilities it grants its user, it won’t exactly be included in this section. However, to read up further on this exact subject, there is a link available right here. (LINKDSHGJHDSJK)

Big Hammer, Little Hammer: A nickname for his “Iron Hammer.” Also known as a “size-shifting hammer.” This is his primary weapon, and the form his Innocence adaptability was inexorably fashioned into. It can grow, extend, and jump or fly (though, this works with the mechanics of perpetually “extending”) according to his will. It’s also noted that despite the difference in mass, Lavi is entirely unaffected by it as he is the “wielder.” In addition to these more “commonplace” abilities, he’s capable of branding several “seals” as a method of attack or tactic. For example, if the “fire” seal is released, it creates a heated wave of flames, all crafted into the form of a snake. In retrospect, his “wood” seal manages to achieve several feats, undertaking and opening up a fairly large repertoire of effective battle devices. As it controls aspects of nature, it is capable of producing torrential winds, and regulating other details of the environment around him. Supplementary to this, the seals can be “stacked,” making it possible to combine more than one of them!

In addition, another key point to note is that when these “seals” are released or its powers summoned, one can see several other “characters,” denoting that he has several more “seals” that he has yet to utilize within the series. Whether this is due to his lack of awareness towards his weapons potential, or simply not obtaining the proper training to put them into actual practice, however is unknown.

Bookman: Due to his “successive” role as the next official Bookman, and even prior to this, as many are skills ingrained in his fortune and birth, Lavi is a natural intellectual. Equipped with a quick thinking mind and an eidetic memory, there’s absolutely no limits to level of proficiency he has when regarding scholarly matters, and especially when dealing with history and chronicling. This is even the case for situations outside of his realm of expertise as his ability of recollection is developed to an unbearable degree, as he’s able to identify a single key according to rust, textures, and scratches in a sea of a thousand identical copies. Branching off from this, as he’s a “Bookman,” he is required to memorize the full of history and be able to pass it down accordingly at the appropriate time.

As a side note, he’s also extremely adept at handling numbers, and he actually appears to legitimately enjoy it. Though, this is likely connected to his roots. Plus, he’s well-educated, and fortified with vast knowledge extending a wide mass of subjects! He even has martial arts experience!

Items/Weapons:

➙ 1. His equipment-type Anti-Akuma Weapon: Big Hammer, Little Hammer.
➙ 2. An extra set of his Black Order uniform. Including a scarf, headband, and eye patch.
➙ 3. The card with the ace of spades that he “held onto” for Allen.

Sample Entry: ( haven test drive meme - halloween edition )

Sample Entry Two:

A dull tingling sensation forms under the nearly opaque and seemingly impervious appearance of his skin exposed through the perceived ‘hole’ formed against the region slightly adjacent to his actual beating heart. Within the confines of a projected false reality, he can’t say it entirely hurts. But, if he had to say, it’s almost as if his nerves naturally react to the anticipated touch of steel against blood vessels, arteries, and concluding organs. Only he knows it’s not precisely how his captor likely imagined this less than savory situation to play out.

Instead of receiving a straight and definite blow from them, Lavi had diluted it by placing damage onto his own person, far before his enemy could (in hopes, it'd snap him out of this and back awake). The dagger gripped tightly between his fingers and palms was proof of that. Or that was the plan. But, before he could truly land the blow, or even sink his dagger in deep enough to deal the impairment he felt was indispensable for his plan, he’s beat to the punch in an entirely different fashion than he had ever expected. So much for regaining control over his body, he thinks.

But, as this unexpected wave washes over him, he can’t help but to vaguely consider how familiar the feeling actually was in retrospect. And the only reason he used the word “unexpected” was because there wasn’t any actual pain or nausea.

If anything, the impression of his slipping consciousness prompted him to recall an afternoon nap or two he’s inexorably fallen victim to in the past. It’s smooth. Easy. Almost insufferably so. And, ultimately, who was he to deny himself of his own favorite pastime?

And with this single assertion, even the intrinsic sense of “fight” and struggle that still remained in his declining movements, eventually ceases.

From here, he drifted endlessly.

Endlessly. Only, it’s not entirely the case.

Finally he cracks a single eye open. At first, his body, still heavy with sleep and disorientation, doesn’t even manage a twitch or a fraction of an inch’s movements. In this time, his gaze scans the general vicinity, scrutinizing every single detail available to him. The sights are new, he notes, and whatever wound he felt he may have received didn’t seem to materialize itself on his actual body. When astonishment and ambivalent disbelief eventually washes off his features, he gingerly brings a hand up, making it a point to gently touch upon the portion of skin right against the region where ribs encased lungs. It’s confirmation, if anything. And from the looks of it— he’s in the clear. Mostly uninjured. However, while this was, essentially, a Good Thing, it still kind of struck him as unsettling, somehow.

Almost as unsettling as the manifestations that languidly encroached on his “time” in that world, even. Almost, but it’s never quite that. He seems to repeat this amongst several other facts in his head, as if attempting to persuade himself of something “positive” amongst a “bleak” situation. But, as his hands progressively slide further into his coat, his pinky unceremoniously manages to detect something particularly waxy in material.

And as if on cue, it slips from his pocket and lands to his side. Rolling over in the bed, he turns to stare at it against the hardwood floor, his hand reaching over to grab it in a simple motor response. Only, when he actually catches sight of what it actually is, he can’t exactly hold his composure.

He stares almost incredulously.

“I-Isn’t this...?” The Ace of Spades. The card he continued to hold for Allen.

The inside of Lavi’s stomach churns uncomfortably with unspoken anxiety, as he shuts his eyes tightly. It was almost as if the memories from that “dream sequence” were seamlessly filling the spaces in his head. Now, he had so many questions he felt were left so unfairly unanswered. So many plausible ideas left unexplored.

People he wanted to see. Explanations he found necessary. However, even in all of his built up frustrations and apprehensions, there was one single thing he could find solace in. And that was that the ink was all there. The card was immaculate and clean in its pristine condition.

... Now if only he could return this to Allen, he thinks. At this, a slightly bitter smile finally manages to find its way on his features.

( note: also i was wondering if it was possible to screen my comment! ty! ♥ )

Aigis / Persona 3 / reserved

[personal profile] masqueradeheart 2013-11-08 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Name: Napy
Contact Info: [plurk.com profile] Madokami & Caramelstars@hotmail.com
Other Characters Played: No other characters.
Preferred Apartment: None.

Character Name: Aigis
Canon: Persona 3
Canon Point: From the beginning of Persona 4: Arena, two years after the original game and The answer.
Background/History: Aigisu's story, it includes links to the different canons Aigis appears in.
Personality: Created as an Anti-Shadow weapon, Aigis was merely given a personality because of the requirements to utilize a persona and her ego wasn't nurtured in the beginning, having been taught nothing but that her duty was to defeat Shadows, the enemies of manking. While the her emotional circuit was supposed to develop eventually the lack of chances for interaction with other beings and experiences outside combat left her social skills and personality very undeveloped, something that shows clearly on her first appearance in the game.
Aigis is initially nothing more than a machine in human shape, both her ways of thinking (processing information is more accurate for those moments) and speaking being far too awkward and literal to pass as a human. Her voice is also quite cold and unwavering, showing that she has yet to develop emotions, however as time passes and begins to interact with the members of S.E.E.S she begins to question what it means to be alive, death and her very own existence. She is clearly distressed by the fact that she cannot become completely human as her heart grows to be more similar to them, and even the fact that she can easily be repaired unlike human life seems to be a hardship for her. Once the members of S.E.E.S, her friends, help her accept that she definitely has human emotions and that she is becoming human Aigis is able to embrace that part of herself better, her persona reaching it's final state.
Remembering her past and her relationship with Ryoji Mochizuki shows a protective side of hers that defies her logic, a desire to do all she is able to protect her allies. It also shows the strong sense of responsibility she possesses as she felt that it was her duty to finish what she could not ten years ago.
Her relationship with the Protagonist begins with that same sense of responsibility, one that lingers even when her damaged circuits keep those memories away from her. She feels the need to be by his side and protect him as Minato/ko carries Death inside of him/her, hoping to keep that monstrous shadow contained. While that inevitably fails their relationship develops through the game as Aigis becomes more human, her feelings becoming much closer to an honest friendship and a strong feeling of closeness. If the protagonist chooses to complete her Social link (this is implied to be canon due to the events of the answer) she opens completely, talking about her conflicts when trying to figure out what it means to be alive and her role in life, knowing that all her friends and the protagonists are bound to die before her. By the end of her link it's clear that she develops romantic feelings for the protagonist, even asking him/her to touch her papillon heart, the only irreplaceable part in her body that properly makes Aigis herself.
By the time of 'The answer' Aigis is unable to deal with the grief of losing the protagonist and instead of accepting it she has began to return into a more mechanical state, rejecting her own emotions. Having never known the pain of loss before Aigis doesn't understand how to deal with the loss and hopes that returning to be just a weapon could ail her sorrow somehow. It's important to mention that she doesn't consider talking with the other team members either though the fact that they also seem unsure and confused on how to process his death could be the reason for such, not wanting to add her own confusion to their issues. During the successes of The answer Aigis's persona transmogrifies into Orpheus, showing a huge change in Aigi's psyche that is clearly fueled by this internal conflict.
Before she could be sent back to the lab she meets Metis, another anti-shadow weapon that claims to be her little sister. Metis is impulsive and emotionally fragile, almost like a little girl, and is very scared of being left alone. Metis is later revealed to be a manifestation of all the emotions Aigis tried to suppress and reject, of the human side that she tried to reject to avoid pain. Once both sides of Aigis reconcile they fuse into a single being, Aigis herself.
Aigis learns to accept the burden of loss and move towards the future, understanding that she shouldn't linger in the pass but carry those precious yet painful memories with her.

By the time of Persona 4 Arena Aigis is a founding member of the Shadow operatives and seems to have become a very determined girl and while her choice of words in battle can certainly be very mechanical she could easily pass for human outside of it.

Abilities/Powers: Aigis is an Anti-Shadow suppression weapon and because of such her body itself is heavily weaponized, specially at the time of Persona 4 Arena when she is implemented even more weapons on her body. There is nothing morbid on such, as a machine her body parts have always been easy to exchange even in the times of Persona 3, being able to equip from simple guns on her hands to heavy weaponry. Her ammunition is limited, sadly.

As every major character in her canon she possesses a Persona, a manifestation of one's personality that is often referred as a 'mask' for those who face hardships, and while most known users are definitely human the power of such only requires of ego and a strong mind to be acquired. Once the user reaches a high level of understanding of themselves and a strong resolution their Personas can evolve into a stronger form symbolizing mental growth. Aigis's Papillon heart, a personality module that contains her and generates her ego and personality, was designed with the purpose of allowing her to use a Persona.
While she still possesses Pallas Athena, her final persona from Persona 3, time and experiences have gotten Aigis to acquire the Wild card which is the name given to the skill to carry, posses and switch more than one personas, even in battle. The wild card is considered to be a sign of free will and unlimited potential, also being a sign of how human Aigis is becoming.
Pallas Athena herself possesses the following skills:
>Masukukaja (Increases all allies' Agility for 3 turns.)
>Marakukaja (Increases all allies' Defense for 3 turns.)
>Diarahan (Recovers all HP to one ally.)
>Matarukaja (Increases all allies' Attack for 3 turns.)
>Samarecarm (Revives an ally with full HP)
>God's hand (Inflicts a massive amount of Strike damage to one enemy.)
>Akasha arts (Inflicts a large amount of Strike damage up to 2 times to all enemies.)

Even if she has the skill to utilize more personas than Pallas Athena and Palladion, Athena's previous form, are the only ones she truly utilizes nowadays.. Other Persona related to her is Orpheus, which she acquired at the beginning of The answer. That Persona is also closely related to the protagonist of Persona 3.
Another skill she has is called Orgia mode which releases her limiters and highly enhances her battle performance at the cost of rendering her immobile for some time after using it which is rather risky, specially when on her own.
While not battle related, Aigis's increasingly human personality requires for her to sleep after a certain period of activity.
Items/Weapons: Is 'herself' acceptable? she is an humanoid weapon after all. I doubt she'll carry anything in particular apart from some spare ammunition.
Sample Entry: Do I really posses enough belongings to need packing? While I can carry this equipment on my own it could cause an scene.
[She gazes around her room with curiosity, her blue eyes looking as if it were the first time she looks at it.]
... The amount of spilled oil is embarrassing.
['Embarrassment', what a strange feeling! she reaches for her own cheek, letting her index finger meet the porcelain surface.]
However I am not blushing at all. Maybe if I knew the person that will clean this up?...
[She contains herself from pursuing that newly found curiosity, instead deciding to continue looking through her belongings. Finding a school notebook makes her smile]
Those were fleeting yet beautiful moments.
[She flips through the pages slowly, distracted by remembrance.]
We should communicate after this mission.

Sample Entry Two: The distant sound of metallic steps hurrying north can be impossible to miss, an unnatural melody of palladium and dirt meeting for mere instants as a figure clad in white hurries forward. It should be impossible to miss in normal circumstances, yes, but an insistent amount of growls and nonsensical sounds can be quite distracting.
'... Left!.'
They are completely unused to battle, aren't they? even if their number is more than impressive sloppy movements are not enough to grasp her. Aigis only needs seconds to react, letting her left leg alone bring her heavy form into the air, jumping away from the grasp of foul, rotten, meat. The being falls forward, not understanding why he missed.
'Junpei-san called them Zombies... against all logic, they are walking undead bodies.'
She doubts that their decaying teeth could pierce the rough metal of her frame but she knows very well how fragile the human body is, how dangerous even one of them could be if allowed to reach Iwatodai. Without hesitation, Aigis aims.

Personality: Upon first glance, Riruka’s demeanor and appearance scream nothing more than “typical teenage girl.” She is loud, brash, and vain, constantly obsessing over cute things and stuffing her face full of sweets. She is easily the arc’s main source of comedic relief, from the expressive faces she makes to the laughable way she is so easily affected by Ichigo’s good looks. Even her abilities and training sessions are made something to laugh at – with the over-emphasis of cutesy, stuffed animals and Ichigo’s flabbergasted and exasperated reactions to her methods, they seem more ridiculous than they are formidable.

Indeed, it is easy to make light of Riruka. From her somewhat childish appearance of pigtails, ruffled dresses, and bunny ears hat, to her even more childish personality, she doesn’t exactly help herself in that area. She practically oozes immaturity, easily and eagerly taunting her own comrades during serious moments. Easily riled, too, to the point of willingly repeating a long-winded insult just because the target of said insult had been ignoring her and failed to hear it. Despite not being the youngest member of Xcution, she certainly acts like it with the way she makes a constant spectacle of herself – arriving late, shouting in almost any instance she needs to speak, instigating fights, and being petulant if she should ever lose one.

So while it is easy to think less of her, it is not so easy to completely overlook her. She exudes, despite her faults, an overwhelming amount of confidence that borders on overbearing. She does not seem to be riddled with the typical insecurities a girl her age might face – rather, she maintains an arrogant, somewhat playful manner that speaks more towards her vanity than it does towards any deep-seated fears she might have. Riruka knows she is different, and it’s this very difference that has defined and driven her for a majority of her young life.

She was five when she discovered her power, and by six she had been, as she claimed, “unrivaled.” It had been her greed that fueled her. Anything she “fell in love with,” she would take for herself, even from her own younger sister. It didn’t matter to her what was right or wrong – if she wanted, she would take it. This was not simply reserved for objects or material possessions, either. When she was seven, she had supposedly fallen in love with a teenager from her neighborhood. Exhibiting similar characteristics to Ichigo himself (rough-talking but gentle, willing to do anything to help anybody that needed it), Riruka had decided that she would keep him forever. She’d had the naïve idea that by locking him away in a tiny treasure chest forever, he would eventually grow to love her back. In reality, it had only made him grow frightened and resentful of her, to the point that “looking into his eyes” had disgusted her. She wound up letting him go, though the incident had not been significant enough to completely change her or her outlook on her powers; the idea that she could have actually killed him with her power had never once even entered her mind.

It would be foolish to think she wasn’t dangerous, though. Despite her somewhat flighty behavior and immaturity (or perhaps because of), Riruka’s powers make her a fairly formidable opponent. If being a Fullbringer allows one the ability to manipulate souls in any matter to the point of altering appearance and shape, then it stands to reason that Riruka is fairly powerful given her main ability centers around the alteration of humans using their very own souls. Unlike latent, object souls, human souls are a different beast altogether, but Riruka handles them easily with her heart passes. She is even able to manipulate a variety of souls at once, as evidenced in her two training sessions with Ichigo, without actual need of monitoring or heavy concentration to keep the changes.

Truly, the one thing that seems to keep Riruka from being the actual dangerous adversary the Xcution were meant to be is her compassion. She does her best to hide it, of course, claiming no true ties to anybody; her family is hardly mentioned save for a brief flashback, and she doesn’t hesitate to make it clear to her fellow Xcution members how little she thinks of each of them, and how her presence in the group is merely for her own benefit. Still, once the Xcution’s true plans began to unravel, we see (for the brief moment before Ichigo’s powers leveled them all up) Riruka’s uncertainty on the matter. For her, she didn’t care about power anymore. (One can argue that she probably never has.) It seemed that once her memories returned to her, the true gravity of the situation began to weigh on her, and regret began to form. Old memories or not, they were all suddenly turning on and fighting against the very people they’d spent so long training and getting to know (on some level), but before Riruka could stop any of them (and it should be noted that she indeed seemed to try), it was too late.

Her vanity and greed also do a good job of hiding her more vulnerable side, but it’s clear as the plot progresses that Riruka is not at all the hardened brat she is usually made out to be. Her past still clearly affects her, when her inner turmoil is contrasted against Orihime’s sunny disposition. Riruka had gotten genuinely upset when Orihime spoke of her own tragic past so flippantly; she honestly couldn’t fathom how someone could view a past like that with such disregard and levity. In reality, Orihime had revealed to her that it wasn’t so much disregard as it was the power of moving on; thanks to Ichigo’s help, Orihime had found a new purpose in life and gave her the strength to move forward and not dwell. Ichiog had “saved” her, just like Ginjou was meant to save Riruka… but rather than give Riruka strength and hope, Ginjou had only given her more of a reason to be angry.

As Fullbringers, they were different. Humans, but not, with a power so versatile and dangerous that a child growing up with them could easily become traumatized by the mere scope of it. Ginjou and Tsukishima had gathered the band of misfits together because they all had one thing in common – they were alone. Ginjou, blinded by his own bitterness and anger, had preyed upon the vulnerabilities of the other five members of the group. They were the minority, that much they all knew for sure, but as Ginjou had bolstered within them – being the minority did not mean they had to be defeated and weak. But rather than rally the group up to form a true bond of friendship so that that loneliness would ebb, Ginjou merely created a group of people who were together, but still alone in their own way. No one in the group trusted the other well enough to fully reveal the scope of their powers, and that lack of trust and bond only further festered the feeling of loneliness within them all.

For years, Riruka had been alone. But thanks to the insights of Ichigo and the unwavering compassion of Orihime, Riruka was able to see what true friendship and companionship meant. In the end, she cried for the very people she claimed to have no attachment to at all, because at the end of the day, despite the lies and the betrayal and the secrets they all kept – they were all she had left in the world. Now, even after everything she’d done and learned, she was alone again.

Abilities/Powers: Riruka is what is known in her canon world as a “Fullbringer.” A Fullbringer is a human whose mother was attacked by a Hollow (a corrupt, human spirit who has essentially not passed into Soul Society – the canon world’s version of purgatory – and remain within the human world to feed on the souls of both living and dead humans) during pregnancy. Because of this, traces of the Hollow’s power had remained within the mother’s body, which were then passed onto the children from birth. While Riruka maintains the same mortality and physicality of a human, she possesses certain abilities that make her markedly different.

Spiritual Awareness: like other beings possessing supernatural abilities in the canon, Riruka can sense the spiritual presence and pressure of any being.

Physical Prowess: because Fullbringers use their physical bodies in the application of their abilities, they must be physically fit and durable in order to withstand and sustain the full force of their powers. Despite looking quite thin and frail and eating like a twelve-year-old the day after Halloween, Riruka has shown to be fairly adept in combat, at least when it comes to running, dodging, and maintaining stamina. She is, at the very least, scrappy.

Fullbring: due to the residual Hollow power transferred over to them, Fullbringers have the eponymous ability known as Fullbring that essentially grants them the power to manipulate souls contained within matter. This manipulation can range from “pulling” on the object’s soul to create movement or even completely altering an object’s appearance. Apart from those, Fullbring also has a variety of applications, such as:

high-speed movement (pulls the elasticity of the ground beneath their feet)
walking on water (pulls the soul of the water to prevent falling through)
intensifying the blows of their hits (pulls on the air surrounding them to accelerate movements)

Riruka’s Fullbring, in particular, is centered around the manipulation of a variety of objects – basically anything she finds “cute” or “adores.” This particular application of Fullbring is known as object affinity, and works under the premise of the Fullbringer’s love of or overall general fondness towards the object. As Riruka claims, she happens to adore many things (so long as she finds them cute), which makes her Fullbring particularly powerful in terms of scope and range.

Her particular Fullbring is called Dollhouse. This power grants her the ability to freely move any people or objects into and out of anything she adores or finds cute. To do this, she generates a heart-shaped “pass” that, once applied to the person or object of her choosing, can instantly transfer that target into whatever object she desires, regardless of size or shape. The command, “I permit you” grants the target access into objects, while sneezing on the target dispels the Fullbring’s powers and returns the target back to normal.

Items/Weapons:
1) “Love Gun” – an oddly shaped gun created by a fellow Xcution member. It bears the resemblance of a cartoon creature with wings protruding from the sides and a vial of liquid attached to the top. This gun has the ability to contain a variety of objects (that we can presume she encased inside it using her Fullbring ability) out at an opponent, which then increases in size once ejected. She can adjust the size and power behind the attack by twisting the vial on top.
2) An extra vial of the liquid needed for her Love Gun to work.
3) A pair of red glasses, prescribed perfectly for her (though she’ll have never seen it before).

Sample Entry: test drive thread!

Sample Entry Two: When she left, Riruka didn’t really have any solid idea where she would be going. She’d never been much of a planner, and so she had only gotten as far as leave, and fast when she first came to terms with the fact that she couldn’t stay. Ichigo, Orihime, even that weird sandal hat guy – they’re all nice. Good. Kind enough to let her stay, even if they all knew she didn’t belong. No one would ever say it, and so Riruka had to be the one to do something about it. She sure as hell wasn’t going to pretend, nor would she do something as disgusting as accept their pity. She didn’t want it.

She didn’t deserve it.

So she left, without any note, any trace of where she could have gone. All of them, they had lives before she inserted herself into it and made a mess of things; the least she could do now was remove herself before things got even worse. They’d be fine, anyway. They had each other, after all.

Anyway, that latter part, she couldn’t really help. With no traces of Xcution left behind, she literally had nowhere else to go now, so when she jumped off that rooftop, she had only the intention to get as far away as possible. Direction didn’t really matter, destination even less so. It didn’t really worry her. Fate had a funny way of working out sometimes. She figured that wherever it was she wound up…

she probably deserved it.

Personality:
First off, m-21 is a human experiment. The experiments were done by the Union, the big bad organization of humans who want to transcend supernatural beings, and was classified as a failure. He is treated as a literal nameless lackey - of course he has amnesia - by the Union and he holds no fond feelings for the organization. At all. Being an experiment and working for the Union is all he knows. It's a bit like nature versus nurture. All he knows is a heartless organization and he adapts by becoming a major asshole.

You've heard it a million times before: the asshole with a heart of gold. The prickly exterior to protect the wounded soul!! Pretty much what's happening here. Everyone around him either doesn't care or treats him like literal shit. Until he is adopted by the good guys he only had one person in the world who cared about him as a person: his partner m-24. Understandably, comrades are the most important thing to m-21. People who treat him with even an ounce of respect are pretty damn dear to him. He puts up a front of being completely self serving and rude but if they find themselves in danger he will die for them. It takes him months of living with close friends to even sort of admit this. See, m-21's not the best with feelings, especially expressing them. That single comrade who he relied on for years? Died right in front of his eyes. This cemented his resolve to finally run away from the Union but it also made him even more reluctant to become attached to others. Even when he finally makes friends with the others in the house he hesitates to admit it. He only shows his affection by taking all the blame whenever they run into trouble. He's essentially an insecure teenager.

Going hand in hand with that is a pretty depressing outlook on life. He was labeled a failure since his rebirth and has always been waiting for his inevitable death. Let's just say his opinion on his self worth is kind of rock bottom. There was definitely a period where he thought it would just be better to die and be done with the farce. The only thing that changed that was m-24. He clung to the reason to live given to him: remember us and find our names. It's so cheesy, I know, but it was good enough for m-21. It goes without saying that anyone, even jokingly, talking about how it'd be better off dead in front of m-21 should expect an earful. A very angry one. There is no kind and supportive words when it comes to this kind of stuff, all tough love here. Everyone has a reason to live, he knows because he is one with very little to hold on to.

Another motivation that m-21 clung to was the ideal of the Nobles (supernatural beings close to vampires) who took him in. They believe that those with strength should use it to protect those that are weak. They showed mercy to him, gave him a home and a job he could be proud of, so he returns the favor by carrying on their ideal. The job given is security at a high school. Literally no one can touch those kids without being torn to pieces by a very, very angry m-21. Anyone who wishes to disrupt the normal lives of innocent humans is instantly on his shit list. He has finally been able to experience what a normal life may feel like and he would protect it with his life. The right to a normal life is very important to him.

All that said and done m-21 is still not the most pleasant person to be around. He is either quiet and to the point or sarcastic and antagonistic. You can take the reformed villain out of the evil organization but you sure can't take out the shitty one-liners out. He likes bantering is all. One of his best relationships is completely based on insults and waiting to snipe at the other. It's just how he shows his affection... When he's to the point he's pleasant enough at least.

Abilities/Powers:
Physical Transformation: Because of the werewolf heart that m-21 has been grafted with he can partially transform to utilize the power. At his canon point he can only transform his hands/arms but it has been shown he can achieve a full bodied transformation. His body is slowly accepting his heart and he is becoming more like a werewolf as time passes but without medical/scientific care it is not wise for him to try for more. His transformation comes equipped with super sharp claws that can cut through steel and just about everything. He also grows fur on his hands and arms which is tougher than skin so as to block attacks.

Enhanced Physical Abilities: m-21's main focus is on speed. This dude is super agile and can do flips through the air like it's nothing. His speed and strength are greatly above a normal humans even when he is not transformed. While transformed he can literally punch two whole stories off of a sky scraper. In addition to the strength/speed he also has enhanced healing abilities. Wounds that would kill normal humans ten times over can be healed in a day or two. This also grants him a lot of endurance as minor wounds will heal even during battle.

Other: Standard battle sense an experienced fighter would have like being able to tell if someone is trying to attack him from behind and all that jazz. He is also pretty good at sniffing out enhanced humans from a crowd of regular people. m-21's really good at riling up people too. You might think this is a joke but his insult skills has saved his life like ten times in canon...

Limitations: So with great power comes some shit as well. First and foremost a human having a werewolf heart is definitely not natural and causes a ton of problems in his body. Before he received intensive treatment m-21's body was on the verge of breaking down at the cellular level at any moment. This isn't as constant a threat but after a lot of shock it could still happen. Being in Haven means he can no longer get worked on in a helpful lab so his body might just slowly break down throughout his stay.

Items/Weapons: An ear bud communicator with a range of 1km, a dumb mask, and a nail file specially made for his super strong nails. Yeah.

Sample Entry: Test drive!
Sample Entry Two:
m-21 has slept in some pretty horrible places before in his life but this place was especially bad. Maybe it was the strange feeling of finding himself in an unknown room after finally having his own for so long but it felt sinister. The only thing that calmed him was the fact that the room wasn't clean. At least it couldn't be a lab. Or so he thinks right now.

He raises slowly out of the bed, taking in his surroundings. Outwardly not an emotion shows on his face in case the room was monitored. He's always ready for the worst case: death or worse captured by the Union. No, the greatest worry was just how they got him. It's not like he could just be spirited away, he is always around his comrades. That means whoever got him had to get through everyone else as well which was a feat unto itself. Masking the motion by casually brushing back his disheveled hair, m-21 fiddles with his ear bud. No response. Either Tao and Takeo were no longer in range or something worse... He did not entertain the thought.

Stranger than all this was the lack of some arrogant lackey barging into the room to shine any light on the situation. You think they would brag even a little after finally getting him back. There's always one of those types. Was it really smart to leave a prisoner alone to his own devices in what appears to be a normal room? With a click of his tongue he stood up, still not even a grating voice on an intercom. Well, he's always been the type to try his luck. And he walks right out the bedroom. The complete silence is strange but it would be a bit awkward to stop now.

Haven, you're seriously lacking in the evil villain human testing department. m-21 can attest to it.
