APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED! The next application opening date is Friday 16th January, 7pm EST. The next application processing date is Friday 23rd January, 7pm EST.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE POST YOUR APPLICATIONS HERE ON THE NEW APPLICATION PAGE
We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.
In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.
You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.
Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.
If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.
Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.
We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.
While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.
Above all, resentment drives Nil's actions. Hatred is his crutch; it is the one thing he has known for almost a hundred years with no reason to value his criminal existence as the apparent product of adultery. He loathed the only world he knew in the dark cell, and, following his fostering by Navarus, has channeled that negative energy into plotting revenge against the nobles. Nil has dedicated himself to a battle not just for survival, but also for the satisfaction of his anger.
His battles begin with the Sermenys and Navarus, the latter of whom he consistently defies. Thought of as no better than a dog to be tamed, Nil swallows the pain of punishment and never backs down, often choosing to fight on uneven ground. Navarus embodies another bitter betrayal, painting him a prime target. Their wrangle has lent to Nil's roundabout tactics at getting back by dragging in those related to Navarus.
Although aware of Sekreuz's estranged relationship with his father, Nil targets him regardless for being the son of Navarus and an aristocrat. He revels in crushing Sekreuz's self-esteem and furthers his plans by manipulating Carne, the fiancée. After snaking a hand around her heart by posing as a friend, Nil crushes Carne when the opportunity presents itself and brims with glee at the damage. The sweet façade he had adopted in his two-faced scheme ends, revisited by an unrepentant smirk, highlighting the extent of his maleficence.
In spite of his consistent bickering with personal enemies, Nil's bipolarity surfaces best around uninvolved folk such as Lark, at whom he lashes out for seeing his injury. Nil does not like to be seen in a vulnerable state, and thus shuts himself in when he is hurt. When aggravated then, he strikes in a manner reminiscent of a wounded animal by attacking with reckless abandon. Reason is lost as he goes mad with fury.
In his sedate moments, Nil is blunt and dismissive, qualities that Bathory claims are his kindest. He bears no interest in anything or anyone beyond the scope of his revenge quest, being all around unpleasant and boorish, nor does he intend to change the fact.

Personality:Right off the bat, when we first meet Makoto in the very start of the story, it's apparent to us that Makoto is a gentle giant. He worries about all of his friends, and expresses kindness towards everyone, even to small stray cats on his way to Haru's house. While Makoto doesn't go through the same dramatic character development in the series that many of the others do, Makoto acts as a constant in the series. His good nature, especially for Haru, is a base for his friends, and because of this he fills the role of a protective friend very well; someone who's there to make sure those who matter to him are alright. He's generally patient, and if not patient, accepting of others for whoever they are.
Makoto, being the watchful sort, is typically very observant. In the case of Haru, he comes off as able to read Haru's mind. While for Haru the excuse is simply that they've known each other so long Makoto just knows what's going on with Haru, his watchful eye is not exclusive to him alone. While visiting Haru's house for dinner, Makoto notices Gou (their will-be team manager) looking at the trophy they had won with her brother some years before and brings it up it up to her. Later, while on a camping trip with the entire team, Makoto notices Rei is feeling off in regards to his swimming, and Makoto approaches Rei to help allay his concerns and fear. Because Makoto so often seems to know what's going on in other people's heads, it makes him respond in certain ways, either saying what's on their mind (such as Haru watching the ocean intently and commenting "I hope the ocean warms up soon so you can go swimming in it"), or stepping in to protect those thoughts. While Rei struggled trying to figure out which stroke he could do for the swim team, Rei and Haru are seen to the side simply staring at butterflies and talking. When Nagisa brings it up to Makoto and Gou, Makoto explains that Nagisa was better off leaving them alone. He knew that the moment the two of them were sharing was important.
Makoto cares about his team mates very much, and wants to make sure that they're okay. Sometimes, his care and worry is a little beyond himself. After nearly drowning in a tropical storm off the coast, Makoto's first concern before anything else is asking if Rei was okay. Even when Haru tries to convince Makoto that he needed to be more worried about himself (who had nearly died), Makoto is insistent to express his worries for Rei and Nagisa. Even after worry about Rei and Nagisa, he feels terrible about putting Haru in a position where he needed to save Makoto, in which Haru could have just as easily been hurt in his stead.
Makoto isn't, by any means, perfect at determining what other people are thinking, or how they might feel about something. Even in the case of Haru, who he so often will narrate the thoughts of, Makoto has been wrong. When Nagisa proposes a swim team, he thinks initially that Haru won't agree to it; of course, the quiet young man does agree despite Makoto's prediction. Later, when hoping to convince Haru to join the relay, Makoto expresses the same doubts that Haru would want to swim in a relay, he is pleasantly surprised when Haru finally agrees to it.
Makoto's default is a quiet expression or gentle smile, but don't be fooled!! Makoto can be just as animated as Nagisa when he feels like it. Generally his animation is correlated with frustration or confusion. He's often exasperated with Haru, such as when Haru decides to make mackerel for breakfast when they were already running a little late for class. He rarely raises his voice in anger, unless it's tied in with Haru randomly stripping. When trying to deduce where Makoto recognized Goro Sasabe, he squints noticeably and even jumps in surprise when he realizes it.
Makoto is the captain of the swim team, and unsurprisingly has a few traits that make him good for a position of leadership. The other members of the team respect Makoto, likely because he's not someone who would impose upon them as a leader, but also naturally provides good guidance. He's kindly and level-headed when he discusses the tournament with his team, and patient. Makoto isn't the sort, however, to jump to a leadership position, as seen when Nagisa volunteers him for the position. His first instinct is to offer Haru instead, as Haru was the faster swimmer. Makoto can even be very serious when needed, urging Haru to beat Rin in their heat together. Makoto supports his friends and his team no matter what.
Makoto isn't one to get into confrontation, attributed to his gentle nature. In fact, he's probably pretty weak in a debate simply because he doesn't like to argue. However, he had mediated in a few arguments thanks to being judicial and fair on most matters. When his two siblings are bickering over a piece of food that Ran had stolen from Ren, Makoto intervenes to call them out, and then proceeds to give each of them a little of his food to keep them from fighting. Makoto doesn't appear to put his own interests before others. Despite his fear of the ocean, Makoto understands it's in the best interest for the team to do the training program presented by Gou. However, when push comes to shove, such as when Rin is being a huge buttstain jerk about Haru, Makoto steps forward to lay down some harsh truths.
Makoto is very easily frightened, which we find out almost immediately in episode one. He's afraid of the dark, he doesn't like ghosts, has a legitimate fear of the ocean, and is pretty easily spooked by most things, if there's any level of creepy involved. He screams like a girl, and jumps at even the slightest sound. Consequently, he IS going to have a little trouble with EV's dark setting, initially preferring to cower behind friends or otherwise. Makoto doesn't like expressing his fears, either. When Nagisa calls him out on being afraid of the dark, he gets a little louder and bemoans and accuses Nagisa of frightening him on purpose. For a more intense fear, such as the ocean, Makoto is much more quiet and reserved, trying not to bother others with his anxiety. Haru is about the only person he'll open up to quickly, in that regard, but as he grows to know someone he opens up more, as he does with Rei and Nagisa.
Fearful as he is, Makoto's can be incredibly brave as well, especially for his friends. When Makoto wakes up during their training camp to find Rei had vanished, and was in ocean during the storm, Makoto leaps into the water without a second thought. Unfortunately, just as he had found Rei, he found himself petrified and couldn't succeed. He blames himself for his failure to save Rei, and while talking to Haru, notes that it's because of his friends that he was able to overcome his fear of the ocean so long as they were there with him. It's also mentioned that Makoto, when he was younger, was afraid of all water, but had grown to not only accept the fear, but fight against it so that he could swim with Haru. It's suggested that at the end of the series, while swimming the relay, Makoto is finally able to find peace in the water. As such, Makoto does not like to revel in his fears or his failures, and while EV will pose a great challenge for him, he will most likely press on bravely.
Makoto has a habit of pulling strings in an attempt to make things and situations work out in the favour of his friends. In episode one, when Haru insists on not going back to their old swim club, Makoto carefully lays out the bait "You know, there's a pool there." In fact, Makoto has used the bait "pool" on Haru a couple times in the series to get him to do things, that in the end were for Haru's benefit. Makoto also goes out of his way to contact Rin, and let him know that Iwatobi (their school) would be opening up a swim club, and that he should join Samezuka's club in turn. Makoto does this in hopes to reunite Rin with his friends, and get Rin to do something Makoto knows he loves.
Also, Makoto is secretly team mom. He kind of nannies the team, and to Haru can come off as occasionally nagging, and is really everything a mother should be. He reassures his friends when they need it, too, and when Haru is sick, Makoto is prepared with tissues for his ailing friend. He even corrects a teacher for calling Haru a girl. (Trivia, all the boys have girl's names.) When everyone was worried about where Haru had gone after losing to Rin in the 100m freestyle, he tells everyone it was probably best to just head home. He doesn't, however, follow his own advice, and stays at Haru's house the entire evening, even falling asleep in the entry way while waiting for Haru.

Sample Entry: Yo! Makoto here. I know it's coming a little late, but thanks anyone who helped me out when I arrived. I was a little too frazzled at the time to really think straight. Still... kind of spooked, but I don't know how anyone couldn't find this place at least little eerie.
I, uh, was wondering if there was anything I could do around here to help? I'm alright at any kind of manual labor! Though, hah, I'm no good for delicate things either. ((He sounds chipper. He doesn't really feel it.)) I guess I can't be picky though. It'd be nice just to have something to do, particularly if it's of use.
Thanks; I'll be in my room if anyone needs me personally.

Character Name: Lee Yoon Sung Canon: City Hunter Canon Point: Episode 19, after his confrontation with Jin Pyo. Background/History:wikipedia; asianwiki
In some ways, Lee Yoon Sung’s personality is something of an anomaly. Trained to live in one way, but allowing his heart to ultimately fuel his methods leaves him in a strange middle ground that sometimes seems very contradictory. From a young age, he was pushed hard. Living in the Golden Triangle, he was trained in all forms of combat — arms and hand to hand. By the age of ten, he was skilled; by 21, the only thing that could really interfere with his ability to ward off his enemies was his heart and his conscience.
Most who meet Yoon Sung wouldn’t find there to be anything strange about him. He comes off as being a fairly average 28 year old — respectful towards his elders, punctual and skilled with his work, generally amiable towards others around him. He plays the persona of being a bit of a playboy, picking up girls at clubs and bringing them back to a hotel room (which is actually a ploy for gaining crucial information). All in all, it’s not so strange. He jokes around, having something of a biting and sarcastic sense of humor, though at times he seems a bit lazy (one of his working conditions being a refusal to do overtime) and weak (the Blue House IT team doing judo and arms training alongside the security team, and he appears to be weak and have bad aim; he puts on a good show). Yoon Sung is seen as intelligent and skilled at what he’s hired to do, though.
This is the persona he presents to most people, and for the most part? That’s very much a part of him. It gets expanded on a bit when dealing with Kim Na Na, who so often caught him in bad situations that she referred to him as an “unlucky jerk.” With her, he can often be more pushy and demanding, he expresses annoyance at everything from having to go places he didn’t intend on to the way Na Na tends to be obstinate about her fearlessness.
Despite all this, with the exception of three (later, four) people — Kim Na Na, Lee Jin Pyo (his adoptive father), Bae Shik Joong (a friend he saved in the Triangle), and later Lee Kyung Hee (his mother), he keeps information about himself scarce. He doesn’t make an effort to get close to others, he doesn’t talk much about himself or his interests, and he largely keeps to himself. And he has a pretty damn good reason to do so.
Before leaving America for Seoul, Jin Pyo warned him not to get close to anyone, or to fall in love. After all, he was going to serve out a revenge mission: to destroy the Council of Five, who had been responsible for the event that killed his father and was covered up and buried. Getting to the bottom of it is something that’s important to Yoon Sung for a lot of reasons, and he does take carrying it out very seriously. But unlike Jin Pyo, who wants to catch and kill the five men responsible, Yoon Sung wants to do it in “a way he can live with.”
This is where the depth of his humanity becomes really important. Yoon Sung has lost his father to needless violence, and grew up in a place surrounded by landmines and violence. He’s seen countless people killed, and he doesn’t like the idea of killing people for the hell of it. He sees the other side of things: If he kills someone, he’s only going to lengthen the cycle of revenge. The people he wants to take down have families too, and he doesn’t think putting them all through the hell of a lost life out of vengeance is fair at all. An eye for an eye is not how he operates.
Instead, he wants to expose them. He wants to expose every unforgivable thing those men did to the public, humiliate them, and force them to play by the rules everyone else in Korea has to. Though he can fight and defend himself well, he doesn’t like to use that method if he doesn’t have to. He prefers covert operations: Infiltrating, bugging, recording, gaining documents — and then revealing it for everyone to see and personally delivering to the city Prosecutor’s Office. Of course, doing this without being seen isn’t an easy feat; Yoon Sung still has to break laws in order to carry out this task, making him a vigilante of sorts.
But his actions are what makes him known to residents of Seoul as “City Hunter,” and it’s a fine distinction between the everyday Yoon Sung and the vigilante persona. Ultimately, City Hunter carries out the tasks, a necessity — so that when all is said and done, he can settle down with those he cares about and live a normal life. If he kills, he’ll always be a murderer, but delivering humane justice is far more his speed.
That doesn’t mean that Yoon Sung isn’t prone to faltering, though. The fact that he’s humane makes him flawed; he’s very much so a man with emotions and connections, and sometimes, it gets in the way of his judgment. It took his falling for Kim Na Na, and subsequently putting her in danger for him to understand why Jin Pyo had been so adamant about keeping his distance. When chasing one opponent who put her in danger, Yoon Sung opted to save her rather than capture his enemy. As a result, he tried time and time again to push her away; it was a method of noble idiocy to protect her, but one that failed. Na Na was a force to be reckoned with, and even (or especially) after she learned of his identity, she couldn’t escape doing things to aid him — and even save him. It made things difficult for Yoon Sung, but his feelings were strong enough to eventually relent and tell her some important things at points: that he likes her, and to wait for him, to wait for it to be over so they could be together.
But Na Na isn’t the only person who causes him to falter. When Shik Joong is hit by a car seemingly owned by one of his opponents, he almost succumbs to tossing his methods aside. Not sure if his longtime friend (and parental figure) would live or die set him over the edge. He chased down Kim Jong Sik relentlessly, and nearly left him to die by way of dangling from a highway overpass (in front of Jong Sik’s son, Young Joo — the prosecutor that suspected that Yoon Sung was the City Hunter — no less). By the time he gains a hold of his sensibilities, it was too late to save him and he narrowly missed grabbing Jong Sik’s hand to pull him back over. That had been enough to confirm something that Yoon Sung has always known, though: Killing another because he was suffering from a loss wasn’t how he wanted to live. That event was single-handedly enough to change his resolve and ensure that he did things the right way.
Even towards the end of the series, when he’s in conflict with Jin Pyo, Yoon Sung comes to his father’s aid when he knows the situation is too dicey. Getting reprimanded for it doesn’t seem to matter, if anything, the events seem to lead him to further strengthen his resolve and do the things that must be done. Protecting his loved ones top that list… to the point when having to make a tough decision: Shooting Jin Pyo, shooting Kim Na Na, and shooting the President, he ultimately turns the gun on his own head and threatens to end his own life in their stead.
It’s not just taking out the corrupt politicians and public figures that’s important to the City Hunter. It’s also restoring the right sort of order and bringing justice to the citizens who’ve been wronged by said corruption. He’s a hero of the people in some way: He makes sure starving children eat, that people denied university scholarship money receive it, that workers get fair compensation — it’s a long list of things he ultimately does in the process of taking “revenge” that really show was a kind-hearted person Yoong Sung truly is.
Even those on the side of the law have a difficult time denying that the City Hunter’s actions are ultimately good ones. Kim Young Joo spent the majority of the series trying to learn his identity… only to let Yoon Sung go as soon as he knew the truth. When confronted about it later on, he stated plainly to Yoon Sung that he does things that the law can’t; those things ultimately make Korea a better place, and therefore, it’s would be a bigger injustice to take him in. Despite the fact that Young Joo is a by-the-book guy and do-gooder by all means, he goes out of his way to protect Yoon Sung and ensure he both stays alive and gets important documents they need.
The last of his important connections stems from bitterness. Jin Pyo raised him to believe his mother was dead, and when that was revealed untrue, that she had abandoned him. Not long after returning to Korea, he discovers her whereabouts, and eventually, that she has leukemia. Despite the bitter feelings he has for a mother ("Mother? What mother?") that had abandoned him, he doesn't shy away completely. Ultimately, he makes his amends and gives her bone marrow to save her life. When he learns that she never abandoned him — but rather that Jin Pyo had taken him away — he reveals the truth of his feelings, apologizing profusely to Kyung Hee for holding such terrible feelings for her for so long. He's the sort of person that despite his shortcomings, can see and admit when he's wrong and do what he can to amend it.
Ultimately, the Lee Yoon Sung and City Hunter personae weave together seamlessly. Though he has to act on them in separate ways, they’re two parts of him that make up the whole. Despite his smart mouth, calculating mind, and ability to beat the hell out of a guy with a spoon, he is a person with a good heart. He’s hardened on the outside, but soft within. Ultimately, he seeks to carry out what he must so he can live a normal, happy life with the people he loves. It’s messy, and there are a lot of times when he clearly has conflict with his circumstances, but he’s strong-willed enough to follow through to the very end.
Though Yoon Sung’s abilities may seem to be superhuman at times, it’s really nothing of the sort. He’s just incredibly skilled in a variety of ways.
Trained from a very young age, combat is one of his specialties. He excels in all forms of hand-to-hand combat — so much so that he can use everyday household items as weapons on the fly to aid him without skipping a beat. Like a spoon. Or a water bottle. He’s well-trained in weaponry as well; he has a perfect shot when he’s armed — one could easily mistake him nailing every shot in the exact same spot on a target board as him only getting one shot, period.
Yoon Sung’s also good for Metal Gear-levels of espionage. He can take out opponents stealthily, sneak in and out of locations without ever been seen, and he has just about every gadget under the sun to help him do so. He can hack code-locks, tap phone calls, secretly record exchanges, scale walls, jump obscenely long distances, and pull off feats that the average person wouldn’t even believe to be possible. And to boot, he always manages to have a solid alibi.
It comes with the territory of being a genius, which he certainly is. In a fairly short time, he was able to get accepted to MIT, graduate with a PHd and follow it up with a high-ranking IT job in the Blue House, guarding national security. Hacking and blocking hacks are a cakewalk for him, and he’s just quick on his feet. He can make complicated mathematical calculations on the fly, deflect suspicion, charm people to gain their trust and intel, and disguise himself to accommodate any situation.
Instinct had a tendency to come before all else, so when Yoon Sung awoke in a strange (and run down) place, his defensive shields took precedence. There was, of course, an automatic panic — less so for his own safety, and more for those who had become important to him.
Ahjussi. Mom. ...Kim Na Na.
Jin Pyo came to mind as well, but he knew that of those four, his father would be the most capable. Of course, if any of them had been dragged into this… whatever it was… along with him, he would take care of it. Yoon Sung knew he had to keep them safe, especially when it was likely that he would be the one to have gotten them sucked into the mess.
He knows he has to keep his cool, but it doesn’t stop him from pulling his phone from his pocket and dialing the first person he needs to check on. Or at least, attempting to. The familiar device in his hand seemed to be devoid of anything but imagery, making it nothing short of impossible to navigate his contacts.
“Seriously…” He scoffed, tossing the phone to the side in frustration as he tilted his head back. Being greeted with a peeling, cracked ceiling wasn’t exactly of any comfort here. “I’m going crazy here.”
That had been enough time wasted; if nobody was holding him to stay in this room, then he was going to leave. It wouldn’t be the first time he bailed in a situation like this, and it wouldn’t be the last. Yoon Sung pushed himself off the bed, going to the window to see if it would be a viable escape option — only to see Haven’s famous billboard, and a decrepit cityscape that was very obviously not Seoul. Plan A wasn’t going to work… so playing it close to the vest seemed like his only option.
Step One, leave. Step Two, find out where he was. Step Three, see if Chun Jae Man was behind this. Step Four, make sure his precious ones are safe.
...He always had his work cut out for him, didn’t he?
At first glance, Elsa seems distant, cool, reserved, very almost uninteresting and one-dimensional. On the surface she is the very essence of queenliness, with a regal bearing, a calm and quiet demeanor, a prideful posture and an aloof disposition, but all of this is little more than a cover, a front that hides the complexity beneath.
Much and more of Elsa's personality was formed around the presence of her icy powers. As a child she was carefree and playful as any young girl, she was close with her younger sister Anna, and the two of them spent a great deal of time together playing in the snowscapes that Elsa would build for them. But after a dangerous mishap that nearly cost Anna her life, Elsa withdrew into herself, closing herself off from her family, and anyone who attempted to get close while she sought to gain better control over her quickly growing powers. But this cloistering did her no good, and shutting everyone away (including her parents, and her sister), only further compounded her insecurity, and thus made it more difficult for her to learn to control her ability, for fear and anxiety only make it worse, and Elsa was unaware that the warmth of love was what she needed to contain her power.
Years she spends locked away in her rooms, drawing away from her sister, whose memories of her ability had been erased, and soon enough, her parents as well, who attempted, without much success, to help her reign in her ability. Her father supplied her with gloves to help hide her powers and taught her to conceal, don't feel, put on a show, inadvertently leading her away from the true way to find control, and though he meant well, this only caused her to crawl further into her shell, to build around herself a wall that none could penetrate, an icy distance between Elsa and the rest of the world. This is a distance born from kindness, however, from a deep sensitivity and concern for the world around her; having nearly killed her sister had sparked a fear in her that never slept, and she lived in constant terror that she might hurt someone again. The gloves given to her became something of a lifeline, a security blanket that she clung to, and being without them caused her great anxiety.
But all that changed when her powers were revealed. After an altercation with her sister, and the subsequent accidental unleashing of her powers before the public of Arendelle, Elsa fled the kingdom to take refuge in the north mountain, building for herself a wondrous palace of ice in the frigid, empty wilderness. It is here at last that we see her cast away her mask and find her inner strength and happiness, for here she is able to live openly and freely, using her powers as she will, being able to be herself without having to worry about who will see, who will judge, and who will, potentially, come to harm.
This happiness is a fragile thing, however, and all of Elsa's insecurity comes rushing back the moment Anna arrives at her castle to attempt to persuade her to come back to the kingdom. And so this warmth and brightness exists beneath Elsa's chilly exterior, it is buried beneath a thick layer of ice, and despite her elegant bearing and regal disposition, she has very little self confidence, and it isn't long before she loses control of her power again. To this end, she is incredibly stubborn, and despite Anna's pleas she refuses to believe in herself, refuses to let her sister near enough to her heart again, for her fear and worry far outweigh her weak and flimsy self esteem.
In time she is able to see past this, to find the love in her heart that she needs to control her powers, and with this revelation we see her open up a great deal more. Anna's sacrifice seems to open Elsa's eyes in many ways, and at last, with her heart now warmed, she is able to learn how to reverse the effects of her own blizzards, confronting her fear at last, and grasping control of her magic. But this peace with herself is still fragile and new, and the insecurity lingers still, though with her sister's support and her newfound confidence, it is unlikely that she will ever fear herself as she once did.
And so, in closing, Elsa is a a kind, elegant, regal individual, and though she can be quite insecure in herself she has the noble heart of a queen, and the strength and bearing required to rule. She is pragmatic, cool, and collected, but she has a warm and playful side as well, a remnant of the little girl buried too early beneath the burdens of adulthood. She enjoys ice skating, loves chocolate, and adores her little sister more than anyone else, and despite her icy exterior, a warm, caring heart beats beneath it.
Abilities/Powers: Elsa is the Snow Queen, and as such, she has dominion over ice and snow, and these powers are quite vast and varied. Anything you can think to do with ice, Elsa can probably manage. From bursts of flurries to wailing, violent blizzards and everything in between, there is little enough that she can't do with it. Elsa can conjure snow and ice seemingly from thin air, she can build with it, forge it into weapons, and turn entire rooms into beautiful, icy winter wonderlands. This power is strong enough in fact to inflict entire cities with a winter climate, despite the time of year.
Also, even more dangerously, Elsa is able to strike into the bodies of other people with her ice - their minds and their hearts, for instance, she can fill with ice, and if not removed it will kill the bearer in time, as their body slowly freezes over. When she is threatened, her powers will act on their own to protect her, and it is also worthy of note that they are highly influenced by her emotions. When she is overly stressed, angry, or anxious, it becomes more difficult for her to control them.

Nergal is one of Crepuscule's very magnificent bastards. This isn't actually surprising, when considering the setting--all of the council (and he is former council) are manipulative to some degree or another, as power struggles, Xanatos Gambits and various political intrigue has been the norm since the very creation of Crepuscule (and before), and being able to stay on top of things is only a requirement to staying alive, much less in the council itself.
Of course, Nergal isn't part of the council any longer, because his motivations are completely separate from theirs. Nergal lives for one thing and one thing only--Carmilla, his fiancée before she went and dieddisappeared.
(Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.)
There's no doubt that Nergal loves his fiancée. That's undoubtedly where his heart is hiding--but after that, there are no guarantees. Nergal is the sort of person to believe the ends justify the means, and he's not at all afraid to show it. He tortures Bathory to make use of her skills, calling her trash and generally being a very terrible person towards her. He wanted to use her dreams to find Carmilla, of course, and was willing to do whatever it took to make that happen.
That said, he also lets her go for the sake of Angela later in the series, because Nergal is one who cares about the people he cares about. Angela is dead at that point, but she cared for Bathory, and for that reason, Nergal is willing to let Bathory slip through his fingers despite his end goals. He believes he owes Angela that much, and stands by his debts and decisions. So he really does take care of the people he cares about (see: Lark), though perhaps not always in the way they would like him to (see: beating up Lark to stop him from being a dumbass).
Nergal doesn't care about very many people, though, so usually, that just doesn't apply.
Because while he's got a polite, even-mannered nobility facade going for him, behind it, he's rather vicious. Rules are meant to be broken when there is good reason to do so, and he's not afraid to do just that. He's not afraid of the council, not willing to bend to them and quite happy to taunt them in whatever ways he feels fit, because he doesn't feel beholden to them at all. In fact, what he's working towards is pretty much entirely opposite their goals, but again, it's all for Carmilla.
To add to this, he's an extremely perceptive jerk, and very, very powerful. As a pureblood werewolf, Nergal wasn't allowed to play any reindeer games treated quite badly for not having any physical strength, something werewolves are known for. To make up for this, he became the most powerful magical user in all of Crepuscule, with a single-minded determination that makes him quite frightening indeed. With his magic and his ability, he really doesn't need the ability to turn into a big hulking wolf. However, because of this, he's quite touchy about it, and hides his ears under his top hat and his tail in his clothes. He'd rather be thought of as just a noble rather than a pureblood werewolf who...well, isn't much of a werewolf. For this reason, he has quite a lot of pent-up resentment that definitely hasn't gone away over the years.
(As a side note, Carmilla was always the one to defend him way back then, which is part of why he loves her so damn much.)
Ultimately, though, Nergal is the sort of person to do everything for a reason. He originally met Lark because he wanted to see Angela's research, and he originally invaded the school and broke all of those rules for his own reasons as well. As long as he's doing it for a reason that makes sense to him, he'll do it, whether it's making friends or torturing someone. He doesn't have much of a moral scale these days, when it comes to things like that.
But on the flip side, he also refuses to do unnecessary things. He's perfectly content to stand aside as abhorrent things are done (with maybe a snide comment or two), if they have nothing to do with him, his goals, or the people he cares about. Really, he's just an unfeeling, manipulative bastard when it comes to most people, and that's all most people will see from him.
That's if they get past his general facade, though, which is that of an odd but generally affable old man noble who rules over the Nergal province. He wears nice suits, carries a cane, always has his top hat on and rarely looks serious. He doesn't really need to most of the time, after all.
You wouldn't want to see him at his most serious anyway--down that path lies bloodshed and suffering.
Abilities/Powers:
Being a species of vampire in Crepuscule, Nergal has his fair share of weaknesses--the standard sunlight, silver, garlic, holy water etc etc. cause him plenty of problems. Being a pureblood, he has a greater resistance to them than the average, but any of those will still cause him plenty of problems and totally ruin his day.
As a first generation werewolf, he's capable of turning fully into a-- ...well, a fox. For a first generation pureblood werewolf, Nergal isn't very physically strong, something that has obviously caused him some issues throughout the years. As a werewolf, he is very fast and agile and light on his feet, which is what their race is known for, but physical fights are certainly not his forte.
Due to this, Nergal decided to become the strongest magic user ever. Gotta stop the naysayers somehow, right? He's a level 10 magician which...we're not entirely certain what that means yet because he knows magic that we've never seen and likely won't see until it becomes plot relevant, BUT-- he can do everything from basic magic to recreating a scene to see what happened in the past, so his magic is definitely not to be underestimated. He's shown to be quite the powerhouse in a battle, so long as he has his magic on his side, where he can do anything from zap people to teleport and anything in between.
Finally, his ability is to summon familiars of various sorts via playing cards. For the most part they don't stick around long unless he wants them to, and perform various tasks but aren't much when it comes to straight on fights. We're told that what familiar is summoned depends on the card in question, though we haven't seen enough of his familiars to know much of a difference.
Items/Weapons: (x1) deck of cards - presumably blank thanks to Haven (x1) cane (x1) clothes he's wearing: white suit + top hat
Sample Entry Two:Here and, because that thread hasn't progressed very far, a written sample:
This world was tedious.
It was obviously a miserable, hideous place, but all of that Nergal could have dealt with without issue. Even the rather lackluster company was no issue, nor the lack of his valet. But the fact that stuck here, incapable of returning home or moving elsewhere meant that he could not continue to search for Carmilla was intolerable. This world had no right to stifle his search. It had no right to trap him here, not when he was finally making some sort of progress, not when there was so much at stake.
He wanted to save her. There was much to be done if that was going to come to pass. The others thought she was dead, but no, they were so very, very wrong. Carmilla was alive. Though she had sacrificed herself for the creation of an unappreciative world, she was undoubtedly alive. And if he had to change that world to save her, he would. After all, nothing would stand in his way.
Delicately, Nergal leaned on his cane, observing the ruins of Haven, the dreary backdrop that was his current location. Nothing would stand in his way at all, and that included this place, a mockery of a world in and of itself. It didn't matter who or what he had to destroy to leave this world. That was simply a fact of life--nothing came easily, and you had to fight for what you believed in. Nergal knew this to be true.
And for Carmilla, the one truest person he had ever known, he would destroy worlds.
Character Name: Erika Kurumi Canon:HeartCatch Precure! Canon Point: Post-Series Background/History: via Pretty Cure Wikia
Personality:
First and foremost, what defines Erika more than anything else is that she's one who can be counted on. Erika puts her friends and loved ones at the top of her list, she's a constant source of encouragement to all. Though at the age of fourteen, Erika already understands that no matter how large or small hers or anyone else's goals, it's that one can accomplish those things when given a helping hand. She's shown to inspire and support the dreams of her close friends to the fashion club she leads after school.
On top of that, Erika possess the patience it takes to manage a group, gather opinions, and give constructive criticism (especially, when it comes to the things she loves.) If there's any sort of conflict or confusion, Erika will be the first to step up to the plate. From accepting a playful challenge to standing up for what's right, when it gets down to it, Erika makes sure that she and others are well understood.
She can harness her passion and share that energy with others in order to get things done. Whether it be to coordinating fashion shows, brainstorming ideas to convey "a new you", or showing a someone that fashion happens to be a creative outlet. And more than that, Erika makes sure to pay attention to the small details; she can always tell when her friends are upset, and she picks up those subtle hints (through their clothing, tone, or expressions) that, leave others surprised in the end. Despite all of her energy, Erika wants what's best for those she considers close. On her best friend's first day of school, Erika made sure to be clear that she would help Tsubomi change to be more happy and outgoing.
As said, though, Erika isn't without her flaws. She's energetic and enthusiastic, yes, but Erika takes them to eleven. Always. She's known for shouting when she doesn't need to—For being up-front and direct about things to the point that others consider her bluntness to be downright rude. Unfortunately, due to her outspokenness, people tend to view Erika as a bit mean, and very much a busybody. Still, she's a girl who wears her heart on her sleeve—Letting her emotions steer her actions and her mouth, and because of that, Erika's also very easy to read.
When she sees somebody down, she wants to know what's wrong. When Erika sees something amiss, she gets right up in the person's face and speaks her mind… even if that person happens to be a giant monster, or a random classmate. Erika also reacts to things immediately without thinking them over; in other words, if she sees something that she construes as bad, her mind just jumps with that instead of considering alternatives. A good example is when she sees her sister looking through her designs, and immediately assumes she's doing so because she wants to make fun of them. Or her relationship with her sister in general. Erika had assumed her sister, who was more successful than her, was someone who looked down on her constantly when things were never like that at all.
Her quick, over-the-top reactions tend to place her as a comical character at times, but Erika's still presented as a person with everyone's best intentions at heart. Despite being so straightforward, and even straining Japanese sensibilities, and going overboard on everything she does… Erika's a good person with a heart of gold. She's described to as the go-to-gal for sewing, creativity, outfits—Hell, even advice. Overly enthusiastic, sure, but that doesn't stop Erika from getting her foot in the door with a smile and an outstretched hand.
Unfortunately, for all of that energy and passion and gusto, when it comes to things Erika doesn't like, she flat-out puts them off. She has the tendency to make excuses for herself such as: reading manga instead of textbooks, staying up all night watching movies, and eating ice cream for breakfast. Instead of doing things that need to get done, she chooses to laze around until the very last minute. Summer homework? There's a whole summer to do that! It's time for sewing a shirt right now.
All of that said, Erika is a girl with a lot of talent and a passion for fashion. Despite being only fourteen (don't listen to the wiki, it lies) she has a solid reputation already for being an amazing designer. Erika can design new outfits on the spot, and is known around her school for her work as a seamstress and as president of the fashion club. This might not be too surprising considering that her parents run a clothing boutique. Her father being a prominent photographer, and both her mother and sister have worked as professional models (and, in the case of her mother, a very famous one.)
Still, Erika makes it her goal to separate herself from her family's 'fame' and to achieve her own stellar reputation through hard work. Even then her skills at her age are amazing already. Erika is able to tell a person's measurements just by looking them over once, and she's taking color therapy to learn a person's mood by the color of the clothing they wear. She always has her eyes open when it comes to fashion, whether it be checking out new styles and trying to plug a look or an outfit. Her dream is to make amazing clothes for others, and to show the world what she sees through the art of clothing. And Erika has the skills to do just that.
When she was offered the position of a Pretty Cure, (a magical girl fighting for love, justice, and flowers) Erika proved how naturally it came to her. She knew what name she'd use before she even transformed, and she did it all without the help of her fairy partner. She picked up fighting and her snazzy new powers so quickly that her Cure partner and best friend, Tsubomi, was legitimately worried that Erika was outpacing her. She was the powerhouse, the magic girl who could kick all of the ass and take all of the names.
And although later Cures would end up taking on more of the straight power role, Erika as Cure Marine would remain Tsubomi's faithful, supportive partner, fighting all the good fights along with the team. It was mentioned that Erika's dream was to make amazing clothes, to touch people's hearts with her fashion; well, as Cure Marine, she has another dream. To protect peoples' hearts. And she has the power to do just that.
To say Erika led an uneventful life up until becoming a Pretty Cure.... would be a lie, at least in her own mind. She's a girl who takes what lot she has in life and rolls with it, who vigorously pursues her goals and dreams. Erika has learned what she could about fashion, and worked hard to become good at it herself. When she meets Tsubomi, becomes a Pretty Cure, and fights to protect the people of the world, Erika does the same; she accepts it, she embraces it, and she makes it work. Whether it's saving the world or becoming a world-class fashion designer, she does it with all of her heart. That's who Erika Kurumi is.
Without her transformation into her alter-ego, Cure Marine, Erika is your typical fourteen year-old. Really, the only thing that's regarded the least bit of extraordinary about her is that Erika is an unparalleled seamstress for her age. Erika is able to cut straight into fabric in one stroke, figure out a person's exact measurements from sight, design outfits in one sitting, hand stitch seams to perfection. She can even predict a person's mood through the colors of their outfit through color therapy.
Though, with the help of her Heart Perfume, Erika is able to transform into Cure Marine. As a Pretty Cure, she's a shounen magical girl. Able to pack some heavy-hitting, and rapid-fire, fisticuffs and kicks; along with gaining superhuman speed. As far as endurance goes, she's able to withstand a lot of damage. It takes the personification of humanity's anger and hate to slap Erika out of her Cure Marine form.
As Cure Marine, she's able to tap into trained dexterity and essentially pretty-girl-rock nuke bomb her enemies. Luckily she won't be able to summon a giant Stand to nukepunch her opponents, as the Super Silhouette requires all four HeartCatch Cures to be present (along with the jewelry box). Instead, she'll be a mini-DBZ brawler in combat stilettos with the ability to fire blasts from her hands/Tact/spinning rave wand kind of magical girl. All whilst in Haven!
Items/Weapons: Her transformation perfume bottle (with extra seeds exclusively for fragrance purposes), an electric (somewhat vintage) sewing machine, and a large toolbox-sized sewing kit.
A heavy sigh broke the silence of what was another cold day in Haven West. Erika had just finished poking through another pile of rubble, she, and along with her trusty stick, had no such luck this afternoon in scavenging for another day's worth of supplies. She took it upon herself to find more clothes for her apartment mates, what with the weather becoming increasingly colder these last few days.. the least Erika could do for them and her friends was to sew some clothes that didn't have any worn out holes from constant use.
Frustrated with her lack of results, she gave a heavy swing with her stick at the pile before shouting out at no one in particular.
"Why? How!? How could a fourteen year-old beauty be crawling through piles of junk like this?!" Erika stomped at the ground, kicking up some dust and thoroughly going through the motions of a tantrum. "WAAAH—I'm just a girl, no, young lady in her prime! I should be looking into high schools, studying with Tsubomi! And hanging out with my friends for the holidays!!"
Defeated, Erika slumped. Forcing back the tears which were biting at the corners of her eyes, for her, throwing tantrums was fine. Anything she could do to let out some steam in the current situation, but stopping to cry about any sort of 'hopelessness' was out of the question. Erika didn't set out the save the world from mankind's anger and despair, only to give into those feelings over sitting in the middle of decayed ruins. Although her current surroundings ironically echoed a 'what could have been' situation if she and her friends let Dune win, either way, the reminder of Haven's ruin made Erika straighten up.
"But I have to be strong, this... This could be seen as some sort of trial! Being angry and frustrated is fine, but people are still counting on me and my skills. And as of right now, I'm one of the few who can still sew around here."
Although Erika wasn't speaking towards anyone, the simple fact of reassuring herself aloud was good enough. Even if right now, she couldn't inject some of her designer tendencies into her craft. Hopefully, when their overall circumstances would improve, then she'd have all the fabric in Haven to work with. It was a long shot, but having a dream regardless of place would keep her chugging along with the dreary pace of Haven.
Character Name: Perona Canon: One Piece Canon Point: Right after she helps Zoro and the Straw Hats escape the Sabaody Archipelago from the oncoming marines. Estimating episode 516 in the anime. Background/History:Right here. Personality: While Perona’s personality hasn’t changed much from her younger self (bossy, rude, loud-mouthed and pompous), Perona’s personality definitely has taken a turn as she aged. She’s far more mature and independent now than she ever was on Thriller Bark. Because Perona was stripped of all her material possessions and her luxurious lifestyle for two years, as she lived with Mihawk and Zoro on Kuraigana Island, she was basically forced to grow up and stand on her own two feet instead of relying on others to answer her beck and call. She had to learn to survive on her own without her servants because, let’s face it, Zoro and Mihawk aren’t exactly the accommodating type. If she wanted anything, she had to either make or get it herself.
This shows Perona’s strength and capability to overcome, despite being so out of her element. She’s an extremely determined and out-spoken young woman, ready to put her foot down and tell anyone off, regardless of who they are or how much stronger than her they may be, if they so happen to upset her or say something she doesn’t agree with. She speaks her mind and doesn’t pull her punches in the slightest. While she may have calmed down to a degree while living with the two swordsmen, Perona still has her little outbursts if she’s annoyed enough. These are usually set off by Zoro’s unaccommodating nature or, say, Sanji’s overzealous and rather perverse invasion of her personal space when she met with the Monster Trio (Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji) on Sabaody. She laid the smack-down on the poor man for just going a bit too far, and didn’t hesitate one little bit to do so.
Even though she has her moments, Perona really is a well-balanced individual. She’s capable of being kind, sweet, even nurturing. Though not much is known of what happened during the two years she spent with Mihawk and Zoro, it’s seen that she does care about the latter of the two very much, even though they butt heads more than two angry mountain goats. She was rather upset, even depressed, when Zoro had to leave her to rejoin the Straw Hats on their journey. Perona detests being alone, and even though Zoro was her enemy back on Thriller Bark, she grew fond of him over time, and misses him when he’s not there with her. She was also put in charge of nursing Zoro back to health by Mihawk when she and Zoro first arrived on Kuraigana Island and met with the older man.
While there is no evidence physically seen of Perona feeling the same towards shichibukai Dracule “Hawkeyes” Mihawk, I believe she shares a similar bond with him, though not quite as personable. If anything, Perona treats Mihawk with slightly more respect. “Slightly” being that she still tells even him off at times, and berates him for being unsympathetic and just plain mean to her. Though, over time, I believe Mihawk acted as a calming agent for Perona’s hot and cold attitude, and she feels more at peace with the shichibukai than she does with Zoro, who tends to rile her up a high percentage of the time. And while Perona may not have allied herself with Mihawk and instead is more of a free-roaming pirate, I doubt she’d allow for anyone to bad-talk the man while in her presence and thinks of him fondly.
The Straw Hats are a different story entirely. Barring all but Usopp, Perona treats them with a cool sort of indifference. She doesn’t care what they do, how they do it, or why they do the things they do if it doesn’t directly involve or affect her. In the past, she may antagonize them just because it’s fun or she’s bored or something, but now that she’s aged, Perona really doesn’t care at all for most of the Straw Hat pirates, showing that if she doesn’t have interest in a person or thing, she usually just ignores it or them. She can get along with the Straw Hats much better than she used to, though Usopp alone is the one person she hates with every part of her being. He is the only one to have ever defeated her outright, and gave Perona her very first loss. She holds the largest grudge against him than any person possibly could hold. There’s no doubt at all that Perona would try to attack or challenge him if she happened to get in contact with him. Or, at the very far end of the spectrum, scream at him as much as she can without getting too physical.
All in all, in regards to the Straw Hat pirates, Perona really doesn't care much about them other than Zoro, but Usopp is the one person she hates more than anything else, and her furious nature would certainly flare up if she were to meet him again. She is extraordinarily unforgiving in that sense, considering she held her grudge against Usopp for two years when he beat her back on Thriller Bark.
Abilities/Powers: Perona’s physical strength is rather lacking, to be completely honest. As a young human woman, she’s really not anyone to look at twice in terms of muscle strength. However, she compensates this with the use of her own special power, which really hasn’t changed much over the years, as far as canon has shown. By consuming the Horo Horo no Mi (Hollow Hollow Fruit), Perona has gained the unique ability to create a seemingly unlimited amount of ghosts – hollows – from her body. These spirits cannot be cut or caught by any means, and can also split themselves apart to create more ghosts. Thus far, it has not been explained just how many ghosts Perona can create, though by what has been seen, it seems the range is unlimited, and Perona suffers no damage at all when she does this.
The ghosts she creates are a projection of her spirit, and thus Perona can see and hear what they do, throw her voice and make it appear as if she is speaking through her hollows to deliver messages from afar, as well as feel what they feel, to some degree. An example of this is when she uses her Negative Hollows (which will be explained later) against Usopp. Those hollows were defeated after losing a battle of negativity against Usopp, hunched over as if grief stricken. A second later, we see Perona in the same hunched over position, a gloomy cloud over her, and apologizing to one of her minions for always being hard on him. Though no other instance of this has occurred, it can be assumed that Perona feels what her hollows feel in terms of emotion.
Now, as I stated earlier, Perona profoundly makes use of her ghosts. There are three variations, but only two of which are used as a means to inflict heavy, serious, physical harm. The two she does use in this sense are the Tiny and Large/Special Hollows. These hollows are the only variation of ghosts Perona can create that explode when activated by a snap of Perona’s fingers (while in the past Perona had to snap her fingers for each ghost she makes to activate the explosion, I’m going to say only one snap of her fingers is required to make them all explode in a chain reaction of sorts). The Tiny Hollow is much smaller and weaker than the larger version (obviously), but still has the power to blow a sizable and deep hole into solid stone, now about the size and height of a young child. Perona can create dozens of these hollows, which stick to and/or cling to her opponent, and thus explode directly on them.
The large hollow works exactly the same as the tiny hollow, but the shock-wave it produces is far greater than the smaller version. This hollow, instead of sticking or clinging to the foe, bites down on them and explodes when Perona snaps her fingers. A force that has since increased in diameter (only a little) over the two years. She really hasn’t been fighting much on Kuraigana Island, so her powers haven’t had much of a chance to develop more than very subtly.
Also, aside from creating ghosts from her physical body, Perona’s Devil Fruit grants her the ability to remove her own spirit from her physical body, making herself into a ghost. In this form, Perona is literally untouchable and thus pretty much invincible. She cannot be cut, touched, shot, burned, nothing. Any and all attacks on Perona’s ghost form are useless and ineffective. However, she can still create hollows in this form, which attack for her. She can also pass through just about any object and float in midair, just like a real ghost (she can float in midair even while in her physical form, but only a few feet off the ground and presumably not for very long). Perona can even form an illusion that she’s become a giant in her spirit form, used mostly to intimidate and scare her enemies. Unlike a real ghost though, she is not transparent, so one cannot tell her spirit form from her physical one through just looking at her.
While in this giant projected form, Perona can let off one of her strongest attacks, summoning up a single Special Hollow that I mentioned prior and making it explode. This special hollow, however, is much larger than usual given how large she herself becomes, and the explosion is also far larger and creates an even more powerful shockwave/ball of flame, sometimes clearing out dozens of enemies at a time. This attack was first introduced in the Playstation 3 videogame One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2.
But it just so happens that Perona’s greatest strength, her Devil Fruit powers, is also her greatest weakness, too. Because Perona has eaten the Hollow Hollow Fruit, she has become unable to swim or be submerged in any large body of water. This is her greatest and most well-known physical weakness, the weakness of all Devil Fruit users. If she is placed into any body of water substantially deeper than her, she will ultimately sink like a rock and, to be perfectly honest, she will drown and die. However, being submerged in water does not necessarily mean Perona or any Fruit User will lose their powers, she will just sink. This has been seen in early chapters of One Piece, mainly in the Arlong Park arc where Luffy’s body was submerged in the ocean, yet his neck was stretched out to allow him access to air by two other characters. And again, when Chopper jumped into the ocean in his human-like state, sank, but did not revert to his reindeer form. It can then be assumed that Perona also would not lose her powers, just sink to her doom and not be able to use her powers herself.
This also means she’s weak to a canon-centric item called seastone. It’s a certain kind of stone, said to be a solidified form of the sea itself and/or give off the same aura as the ocean. This stone is the One Piece equivalent to kryptonite – it sucks away a Devil Fruit User’s powers and leaves them weak and fatigued. Using this stone on her, or anything similar to it, will leave Perona literally powerless. She would not be able to create ghosts, nor would she be able to remove her spirit from her body. If she was placed inside a seastone cage, or had handcuffs made from this stone placed onto her, Perona would immediately become just like any normal human being.
However, Perona’s fruit itself leaves her with a monumental physical weakness as well! When Perona leaves her physical body and wanders around as a ghost, she is literally leaving her body behind. Her spirit separates from her body, leaving her body hollow and much like a lifeless and unmoving doll. In short, her physical body becomes extremely vulnerable the moment Perona leaves it. To counteract this, she usually hides herself before projecting her spirit, but if her body is found and attacked before she has a chance to protect herself or get back into her body, it could very well spell doom for Perona as a whole. It could also be used against her, to get her to surrender. Though the canon does not specify what will happen to her spirit if her body is attacked, it’s obvious Perona values her physical body, and goes to great lengths to preserve it. If her body was threatened, she would have no choice but to comply to one’s demands.
Another weakness of Perona’s spirit form is that, while she cannot be touched or attacked, she herself cannot touch anyone or anything, either. She can only pass through objects; she cannot touch or harm them in any way. That, she leaves to the ghosts she creates and controls. Items/Weapons: Her red parasol that looks like a devil, her teddy bear fashioned after Bearsy/Kumashi, and her watch and clothes. Sample Entry: --ork this thing? It's nothing t all like a denden mushi...ah! Is it on now? [Afternoon, Haven, there is now a young woman looking curiously into her cellphone's viewfinder, as if trying to decipher if it's on or not. THIS DEVICE IS FAR TOO COMPLICATED FOR HER, SHE MISSES HER SNAIL.]
Oi, if anyone can hear me? If you can, I'd like an explanation! I want to know where I am and why I'm here. I-It's not such a bad place...but I refuse to share a room with so many other people! I'm a lady and I shouldn't have to sleep in a confined space with so many other people. I want my own, private room! How do you expect me to bathe, and to change, when there are others there?! I won't stand for this - I should be treated far better than this! Just because this place fits my likes...don't think I'll ignore the living conditions!
And I still want to know where I am and why. [If she was kidnapped back on Sabaody for the human trade, they're pretty stupid not to put some seastone cuffs or an explosive collar on her...but hey, no complaints in that department. Or, hrm, may she have been caught by the marines? Again, it's stupid that they didn't put seastone on her...they're incompetent, but not that bad.] I'll have to find a ship...and supplies. Mmh, hopefully there's one large enough to accommodate... A log pose will be harder to get my hands on...peh!
[Perona's image suddenly jerks away from the camera and it all goes dark before the sound of a zipper is heard. She's shut her phone (which is obviously still on because she has no idea how to turn it off) into the zipper pocket of her stuffed teddy. She can still be heard, but it's much softer, and muffled.]
Find a port, or a ship, or just something that may look important. Look everywhere...you know what to do. Go. Sample Entry Two: The blaring ring of an alarm is what wakes Perona from a very restful sleep, curled up on her bed and hugging her plush teddy bear tight to her chest. With a startled screech, she jerks up from bed, her poor teddy toppling off the bed and landing in a heap on the floor. What the hell--when did she fall asleep? No, when did she get into a room?! Perona distinctly remembers being outside, at Sabody, seeing that sword-toting neanderthal off with the rest of his crew. So why...how--?
"Eeeh, what's going on?! Where the hell have I beed taken to?!" Fuming, she checks her wrists and ankles for any kind of explosive collar, anklet, or braclet...or shackles made from seastone. Thankfully, there's nothing, so whoever took her may not know of her powers...that's incredibly lucky. She can escape easily with her devil fruit powers still in tact. And she an properly punish the putrid slaver that thought to keep her confined like this!
Though looking out the window...and at that crazy sign...Perona doesn't recognize the place. The human auction house was still on Sabaody, even if she was in whatever insane holding cells they had for the captives there. The scenery shouldn't be what it is outside. It looks almost...cursed. Like ruins of a city that was struck by some insidious plague, or a curse, or a natural disaster...! And maybe that rolling fog covering everything in gray darkness was the thousands of wandering, vengeful souls the former inhabitants!! Aaah, that'd be so wonderful! A haunted city! ♥
Finding the door unlocked (seriously? If she's being held prisoner, these people suck at it), Perona exits her room, noting the other beds of course, and begins her exploration, quiet and hesitant despite the smile spreading on her face. It's just like passages from her favorite horror stories~! Maybe something grotesque and decaying will pop out?!
