Applications Two

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED!
The next application opening date is Friday 16th January, 7pm EST.
The next application processing date is Friday 23rd January, 7pm EST.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE POST YOUR APPLICATIONS HERE ON THE NEW APPLICATION PAGE

We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.

We now have a test drive community at [community profile] haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.

While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

To see what we are looking for:
Canon Characters:

[personal profile] skyrending 2014-03-28 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:

At first glance, Kagura comes off as an irresponsible lout, introduced in perhaps the most unflattering of ways. His reputation proceeds his actual appearance in BlazBlue's story, as he's described by other characters as a feared soldier, the head of a noble family and renowned for his wartime exploits. He's cavalierly called the most important person in the Praetorian Guards of the Novus Orbis Librarium, and one of its highest ranking individuals. And despite this lofty reputation, Kagura first appears in BlazBlue's story as a raving drunk, too hung over to comprehend where he is or what he was doing. He rather pitifully begs for a glass of water, before immediately beginning to flirt, rather poorly, with the women present in the room. When his flirtations grow increasingly awkward and unwanted, he finds himself justifiably pummeled and knocked to the ground. As the story continues, he's prone to rather lecherous outbursts, breaking the tension of certain moments when he inexplicably takes any break in the action to begin inviting other girls out on dates.

But as they say, first appearances can be deceiving. While Kagura is unmistakably a lech with a penchant for partying a little too hard and drinking a little too much, slowly the story begins to reveal that his reputation is more deserved than it first seems. As the head of the greatest family of NOL's Duodecim, he more or less serves a leadership role for a good portion of BlazBlue's cast (even if none of them are likely to admit that fact). Behind the loutish behavior, he displays a remarkable amount of charisma and talent for drawing people to his cause. The tools he has to work with at his disposal are difficult to handle, to say the least, considering most of his subordinates would rather a.) run off to do their own thing, or b.) kill each other. Yet somehow, time and time again, Kagura manages to draw these people into his plans, securing their grudging allegiance. Admittedly, he has help in securing the cooperation of others, but his skill has an unlikely leader is instrumental in turning BlazBlue's cast of dysfunctional sociopaths into an actual ragtag band of heroes.

Beyond his ability to lead is also a keen tactical mind. Though it can be hard to pick up on, thanks to the rather confusing nature of BlazBlue's story, Kagura's various plots and strategies are some of the key threads running through Chrono Phantasma's narrative that allow the heroes to (sort of) succeed. Though he hardly seems it at first glance, Kagura is one of the first to pick up on things that are happening around him, guessing at his opponent's motives and doing his best to counter their schemes. While he ends up outmaneuvered from time to time, particularly during the climax of the story, it's hard to completely fault him for that - he's perhaps the most regular of the big players behind the scenes of BlazBlue's story, going up against opponents that regularly use their powers to rewrite reality to their own liking. The mere fact that Kagura is able to come up with plans to counter things like "phenomenon intervention" shows why he's considered the leader of NOL's military, and when his plans begin to fall apart he is never above joining the fray himself and fighting against impossible odds.

At the core of Kagura's character is a strong sense of idealism. He often talks of revolution and reform, wanting to shake up the corrupt establishment in order to create something better. Despite being an influential and power member of the current establishment, he is deeply dissatisfied with the way things operate and hopes to use his resources to cause change. The current NOL government is highly racist and places undue emphasis on family names and rank, something Kagura sees no value in. Although other characters are quick to point out that Kagura has greatly benefited from these things, born into the highest ranking of NOL families, he nonetheless sees the flaws in such a system. Instead, he hopes to create a meritocracy, where those with strength and ability are able to advance beyond those who have only been lucky enough to be born into a noble family. At the same time, he recognizes that such change is a difficult thing to bring about, and has no (or little) allusions about just how much he can do. He hopes to bring about gradual change, as opposed to violent revolution, through a series of reforms that will take place over time.

At the same time, his motives are also based on his strong sense of loyalty. One of the disciples of the former Imperator of NOL, he adheres strictly to his master's teachings, and carries on his legacy even years after his death. When the former Imperator fell in battle, he entrusted his heir to Kagura, in hopes that Kagura would be able to hide and protect him. Kagura followed those orders, even if it meant earning the ire of his countrymen - in order to protect Homura, the true heir to the Imperator, he had to make it look as if he had abandoned his old master and joined the other side during the Ikaruga War. Ever since, Kagura has bided his time, gathering power and hoping to one day overthrow the current government so he can reinstate Homura to his rightful place as Imperator. Thankfully, his two goals of restoring the true heir and bringing about sweeping governmental reform go hand in hand.

While fulfilling a leadership role for the other characters around him in BlazBlue's story, Kagura also takes on something of a mentorship role. One of the more powerful characters in the world, he tries to do what he can to help the others around him gain focus and realize what matters to them. Granted, his lessons are usually shrouded in obfuscation and hidden by his own boisterous personality, he nonetheless tries to take other characters under his wing. His reasons for this are obvious enough - even as he gathers wanted criminals like Ragna the Bloodedge underneath him, he has a clear interest in making sure they become strong enough to overcome the trials that come before them. The lesson he most clearly instills in others is that true strength comes from having something clear and focused to fight for. Without conviction and purpose, even those who wield the greatest of power cannot become truly strong. His lectures are mostly just thrown back in his face whenever he tries to make them, but it is clear that the other characters do (grudgingly) respect what he is trying to teach. It's hard to deny the strength that Kagura possesses, even as he seems content to spend most of his time drinking and trying to pick up girls.

Abilities/Powers:

Though Kagura's strength is not very well explained, he's considered to be one of NOL's greatest soldiers. The story more or less corroborates this, as his early entrances into the story and role in the narrative tend to put him at a level above most of the other combatants around him. When someone is needed to fight Mad Dog Azrael, largely considered a monster without any peer on the field of battle, Kagura is the only one the protagonists can put forth to oppose him. And while he is unable to defeat Azrael, he nonetheless manages to lure him into a trap, effectively defeating him. During the battle itself, Kagura observes that while he and Azrael are roughly equal in strength and skill, Kagura cannot keep up with Azrael's endless stamina.

Being from a fighting game, most of Kagura's combat abilities can be extrapolated from his moveset. He wields a gigantic sword with ease (by far the largest weapon anyone wields in BlazBlue, which is kinda saying something). He is able to throw magical projectiles of purple energy, and further utilizes that same magical energy in most of his attacks. Presumably, his ability to use energy based attacks is based on his use of an armagus - an item in the BlazBlue world that users to draw power from magical energy in the world's atmosphere. Despite that, Kagura's weaponry is mostly normal ( at least in terms of BlazBlue's world ), meaning his strength is almost entirely of his own doing.

His ability to wield his ridiculously gigantic sword is noteworthy, as well as the skill with which he uses it. Kagura utilizes a stance switching system during battles, which allows him to rapidly change his own moveset based on his situations. Though it's questionable what this actually illustrates about him or his abilities as a character, it perhaps serves to demonstrate that Kagura is able to quickly adapt on the fly and alter his strategies depending on whatever situation he finds himself in.

Items/Weapons:

1. His sword. The story never explains if there is anything significant or special about the sword, but it's notable for its incredible size and power. It's also confirmed that Kagura uses an armagus in battle, but the story never really elaborates on what his armagus is or whether or not his sword is his armagus. Unless information is later released that clarifies the matter, I'll assume that Kagura's armagus is incorporated into his sword somehow, since that's the most likely scenario.

2. A bottle of tequila. Just because.

Sample Entry:

[ as the device's camera turns on, a rather disheveled and disoriented looking face slowly comes into focus. the black haired man on screen blinks a few times, peering at the device suspiciously, before finally letting out a long sigh. ]

Ugh, I don't know what's going on... [ he grimaces, bringing a hand up to his head. the flush on his cheeks is hard not to notice, and the alcohol on his breath almost seems visible. ] What was I doing last night? I can't remember anything... There were those girls and, uh... what happened after that?

[ he fumbles around with the device a little more, familiar with using a communicator... but clearly not in the right frame of mind for using this particular one. ]

Where did I end up this time? Hibiki's gonna kill me... [ as he says those words, the realization of their truth seems to set into his features... for a moment he seems to sober up, before the pulsing pain of his hangover sets back in again and overwhelms everything else. ] Bah, I can worry about that later. Hey, there's someone on the other end of this thing, right? Someone? Anyone? Where'd I pick this communicator up, anyway...

[ though as he tries to examine the device more closely, the image suddenly distorts and jumps around wildly... before shaking violently as the device hits the ground, fumbled out of kagura's hands. ] ...I hope I didn't break it.

Sample Entry Two:

It had taken Kagura a little while to adjust to his new situation, but he was finally starting to realize the gravity of where he was and what that meant. At first, he had assumed this was some strange ploy of his enemies... perhaps an extreme form of phenomenon intervention that had transported him into a different reality altogether. But that couldn't be the case. This plot had affected too many people. Even the Takahamagara System wasn't capable of something on this scale... and even if it was, that system had been destroyed.

In the end, he simply had to come to terms with the fact that this situation really made no sense. And once he had, accepting the strangeness of it all became easy.

"This wouldn't be so bad if they at least had some decent booze around here..." Kagura grumbled to himself, though he didn't really mean it. While drowning himself in alcohol would have been tempting if that option was actually available to him, even he wasn't so irresponsible that he'd blow off his responsibilities to do so. Things had been a mess back in Ikaruga before he'd been brought here... and while he was sure the others could take care of things in his absence, he still didn't like knowing that they would have to.

"If I was going to be forced to take some time off, they could have at least sent me somewhere a little nicer," Kagura mused as he looked through some rubble, trying to find anything useable amongst all the discarded debris across the city. He figured by now, anything useful had probably already been looted and taken... so searching was more of a way to kill time than anything else.

And yet, he kept doing it regardless. As a soldier, there had always been an enemy to fight, or a plot to uncover. Beyond that, he'd always had his underlying goals to achieve back home, and they'd always given him a sense of purpose... even as he wasted his nights away partying and drinking. Here, he had none of those things. Well, not really. Other than a vague desire to help the people here, and a more definite desire to get back home, he had no clear goal in mind. And that was... troubling, even for someone like him.

"Tch, this is why I need a drink," Kagura said aloud, to no one in particular. "My thoughts are starting to get pretty dark," he continued, shaking his head. Being overly negative wasn't like him... he was sometimes criticized for always being too optimistic, but that optimism wasn't really showing these days. It was hard to be positive about a situation that seemed entirely beyond you. But even so, he knew he'd be able to find a way through this mess. There was nothing supporting that belief but his own confidence, but his confidence had gotten him through tighter scrapes in the past before.

Taking a moment to adjust the wrist wraps on his arms, he nodded to himself as he reaffirmed his own will. "Right, just gotta keep doing what I do best..." he decided, glancing around for anything that could help him get out of this mess- "Ah, miss? You over there! Would you like to go get some tea with me? Just for a little while!"

YU KANDA || D.Gray-Man || 2

[personal profile] reignbringer 2014-03-28 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality: When we first meet Yu "Don't You Dare Call Me By My Given Name" Kanda, what we see is a young man whose physical beauty is somewhat at odds with his extremely unpleasant personality. Within the first few chapters, Kanda has already shown himself to be lazy, mean, coldhearted, and violent. He and main-character Allen Walker's initial interaction was unpleasant enough through no fault of either of them, but unlike Allen Kanda has no interest in making amends. "Who'd want to shake hands with a cursed person?" is his friendly response to Allen's metaphorical olive branch, and the next time they talk he refuses to learn Allen's name, because -- in Kanda's own words -- he really can't be bothered to learn anybody's name until they've lasted a few months with the Black Order. And he has no patience for anyone else's sentimentality, either: on or off the battlefield, you'd better not be too loud about it, or he will shut you up by any means necessary.

At first, second, and third glance, Kanda's only saving grace as either a member of the Black Order or a human being is his supreme competence. He's repeatedly identified as the best Exorcist the Order has, and in the latest chapter (218) it's even revealed that he should have been "promoted" to General years ago. Add to his overall skill level that Kanda is the only remaining Second Exorcist, and as such capable of high-speed healing, and it might be natural to assume that the only reason why anyone puts up with Kanda is that they need him in this time of war.

And yet... Kanda has quite a few friends within the Order. People like Komui, Lenalee, and Noise Marie are obviously exasperated with but ultimately fond of him; Lavi enjoys teasing him; and his master, General Tiedoll, treats Kanda like a very angry but essentially harmless kitten. When Lenalee was especially distraught during the Level 4 Arc, she could have gone to anyone for reassurance, but she chose to go to Kanda -- and even though she was interrupting his meditation with nervous chatter and the reader might have rightfully expected her to get yelled out of the room, Kanda instead reached deep down inside himself and summoned just the words she needed to hear: "I think you're one of the strongest people I know."

This incongruity was first brought into focus by the D.Gray-Man databook, which observed in its description of Kanda that he is, after all, fighting a war -- and that what seems like coldheartedness is at least partially a defense mechanism. Even Kanda's refusal to learn Allen's name is telling when viewed in this light: it's not that he's too lazy to learn names (well, not just this), but that he is on some level actively afraid of learning names. Afraid of letting anyone closer than arm's length, because he knows better than almost anyone that his fellow Exorcists come with an expiration date. With his regeneration ability and his prowess, Kanda has too often been the last one standing. And because of the nature of the Order's enemy, Kanda has not only lost people he cared about: he's had to kill them himself.

But this was all still only implied until the fairly-recent Alma Arc, where through a series of unusual flashbacks we were shown some of Kanda's traumatic childhood, and learned the truth about the "Second Exorcist Project". Suddenly Kanda's attempts to keep himself distant from the other Exorcists made even more sense.

SPOILERS:

Previously we had only known that Kanda had been inducted to the Order at the age of six -- now we know that he was "born" at that age, awakening from a pool of primordial sludge as one of only two successful test subjects, and that in fact Kanda is the result of an extremely questionable experiment to put the brains of dead Exorcists into new bodies so that they can keep fighting.

Kanda and the other boy, Alma Karma, were not supposed to remember anything about their past lives, and when Kanda had his first fuzzy dreams of his previous self, the Order's immediate response was to try to terminate him. Alma stopped them, and then, after learning the truth of their Frankensteinian existence, murdered everyone at the facility. In his fear and rage, and because he was terrified of Kanda figuring out who their past selves were (that Alma had previously been a woman, and presumably Kanda's lover), Alma also tried to murder Kanda.

Though Kanda himself was miserable and traumatized by the attempts already made on his life, he made a choice in that moment to keep living, and killed Alma, who was at the very least his closest -- and only -- friend.

Add to this the strange lotus hallucinations that Kanda has experienced ever since that day, and it's surprising he isn't even more unpleasant.

To put it mildly, Kanda learned his lesson, and over the next twelve years made rules for himself: Don't learn people's names until they have shown some minimal ability to survive the war. Do the job (usually securing a new Innocence or recruiting a new Exorcist), then get the hell out. Don't ever be a hero. And exhibit zero tolerance for anyone without enough sense to do the same. All rules that should have kept him safe, and safely distant, from those around him.

Should have being the operative phrase.

But again, the truth is that Kanda has still made friends. Starting with Marie, whose live he saved during the Alma Arc flashbacks, and continuing to his very first mission with Allen, Kanda does not always follow his rules. He might say he hates you, and he might in fact hate you; he might say he's going to let you die if you slow him down, and he might seem to mean it; but when the moment comes, when you need his help, Kanda has a tendency to show up just in the nick of time and save your life.

Just don't expect him to ever, ever, be nice about it. That heart of gold is not just beneath the surface -- it's under four feet of reinforced steel and concrete, and even if you're lucky enough to catch a glimpse of it, Kanda will probably follow up that glimpse by calling you by an insulting nickname. Or threatening your life with unnerving sincerity.

Abilities/Powers: As an Exorcist of the Black Order, Kanda is in possession of an anti-akuma weapon, made of a mystical and supposedly holy substance called Innocence which is deadly to the "demons" of his canon. This weapon, named Mugen, was originally Equipment-type and shaped into a black katana with no guard by the Order's scientists -- but in recent chapters, it "evolved" to the new Crystal-type and is now made not only of Innocence but also of Kanda's blood. (As a Crystal-type anti-akuma weapon, Mugen's shape has changed, and now it does have a guard, which is fortunate, since Kanda will have to be considerably less reckless than he was in the past.)

While Mugen can be wielded like any other sword, Kanda can also perform various illusion-themed attacks with it -- the first illusion, Ichigen, makes a swarm of insect-like projectiles that attack enemies and the second illusion, Nigen, makes Kanda's sheath for Mugen into a second blade -- which are increasingly powerful and also increasingly dangerous for Kanda's health, since with the third illusion, Sangen, Kanda breaks a "taboo" on the sword which allows him to feed it his life force in order to gain more speed and strength. The fourth, fifth, and sixth illusions have only been seen very briefly in recent chapters, and with the sixth illusion the color drained from Kanda's hair and it was observed by other characters that he was letting Mugen take too much of his life force and was in danger of dying.

This would have been an especially problematic anti-akuma weapon for Kanda to have, if he were not also the last remaining Second Exorcist, a special subgroup of Exorcists with an extraordinary power to regenerate after being injured. Throughout the series, Kanda has recovered from many mortal wounds, with entire limbs simply growing back and organs knitting themselves back together, though within the first few chapters it was also made clear that this ability was starting to break down and take longer than it had in the past, theoretically requiring more caution from Kanda.

After recent events, this seemingly came to a head, and even Kanda's previously inhuman metabolism -- which had broken alcohol down so quickly that he was not able to get drunk -- has slowed down to much more human levels. But since in the last chapter his mutant healing factor was still powerful enough to overcome an attempt at brainwashing by "regenerating" his original memories, it's clear that this ability has not vanished completely.

Finally, Kanda is a skilled swordsman and martial artist. He is also multilingual, knowing English as well as or better than Japanese and, since he grew up in the East Asia branch of the Order, probably some Chinese as well.

Items/Weapons: Mugen, his anti-akuma weapon; Golem, his Order-issued communication golem; and the shattered pieces of Timcanpy.

Sample Entry: Link!

Sample Entry Two:

It felt like -- nothing. One moment he had been in the alley, Tiedoll in front of him, accepting his condition, resigning himself to whatever fresh hell being finally made a General would mean...

...and the next, he was flat on his back in a strange bed, in a strange room. With a strange alarm going off nearby.

Kanda jerked upright, throwing the covers off. His Order uniform -- his dingy trench coat -- and, most importantly, Mugen still sheathed at his hip.

One deep breath, two; centering himself for the coming fight. Then, one hand on Mugen's hilt, Kanda threw himself off the bed and into the furthest corner of the too-small room. It wasn't much of a tactical advantage, but at least nobody would be getting the drop on him.

Too late. The thought came fast and unwelcome, led down dangerous distracting paths that he couldn't afford right now (how? more memory-tampering? had he ever spoken to the General, or was that just one more lie?), and Kanda cut it off viciously.

Later. Not right now.

Priority one: Get the hell out of this room. Casualties acceptable.
Priority two: Check Golem, make sure it's not damaged. Try to communicate with the Order.
Priority three: Find Walker.

Then, and only then, would there be time for cursing himself for letting any of this happen--

A flicker of movement from the top bunk beside him, and in the next second Kanda had Mugen at his roommate's throat, his hand in their hair.

"Don't even think about it," he snapped.

Personality:
To understand Toto Sakigami, one must also understand Hagire Rinichirou.

Originally, Toto was a childlike individual with a few macabre quirks, but living in a prison can do that to a young kid. It doesn't help that his ability necessitates the blood (or flesh) of another Deadmen inmate so that he can manipulate their abilities through his own body. As a fighter, he's ruthless — extremely dangerous due to his Branch of Sin and it's ability to constantly change and revise itself.

In spite of being extremely hazardous to everyone's health, he was generally friendly, though he only befriended one individual. A girl named Mitsuzaki Yosuga, someone he affectionately referred to as 'big sister', although he was older than her (this was done in an effort to replace his older sister, who perished in the Great Tokyo Earthquake). Being the most successful member of Carnival Corpse, she was the only one who cared for him out of sincerity rather than fear and vice versa. Having just one friend was more than enough to keep Toto occupied — being a loner was something he had little problem with, though that aspect gradually whittled away by the constant need to share his winnings, findings and discoveries with her.

Toto's success in Carnival Corpse made him a top contender to take on the responsibility of Hagire Rinichirou's consciousness. By extending his lifespan through technology and through the use of his servant's Branch of Sin, Hagire is able to overwrite the memories and thoughts of another human, all for the sake of thoroughly researching the Wretched Egg (otherwise known as 'Shiro') and allowing his love to come to fruition.

Except, Hagire is a sociopath and therefore lacks any healthy concept of 'love'. For him, love is similar to murder. As a mad scientist, Hagire's been involved in all types of inhumane research, ranging from animal to human experimentation and everything in between. He takes extraordinary pleasure in testing on a young Shiro, torturing her in many different ways (burning, slicing her up, etcetc) merely to watch her wounds heal and limbs reattach. Being a scientist doesn't mean he's totally against needless carnage, either. He'll gladly sever non-regenerative limbs or kill someone slowly if he feels he's being threatened or if he feels his plans are being compromised. He'll do anything in his power to keep his goals on track, this is especially evident when it comes to the Wretched Egg and reawakening her full potential. The Deadman Wonderland prison is supposed to be a kindle for that, in it's entirety, and the prison itself is known to detain innocent people or people who have yet to be legitimately convicted of a crime. Despite this, the prison employs a special system called the "death sentence rule", which means exactly what it sounds like. Every prisoner who steps through the gates must wear a thick collar that constantly injects poison directly into the bloodstream which can only be counteracted by a certain bitter-tasting candy every three days. Candy is, of course, and expensive commodity. Without the candy, death is inevitable after a seventy-two hour period. So yeah, torture is commonplace, suffering is delightful and having everyone unwittingly dance to his beat are among Toto/Hagire's favorite things.

His adopted children, Chan and En are merely servants to him. Tools that act as a necessary intermediary to extending his life to another generation. As they're dying (to protect him no less), 'Hagire' flat out states that he's never loved them, even as they extend their love to him. He finds normal relationships to be boring because his concept of love, understanding and society have been contorted by his infatuation with the Wretched Egg. He's enamored with her duplexities — she's fascinating in every way, simple and gentle, yet she possesses a destructive force beyond all comparison. Love and violence go hand in hand and through the years, his desire to love and maim the Wretched Egg (and vice versa) has only strengthened. Hence why his ultimate goal is to get a body that can fight and kill her over and over again until he truly knows what love is.

Just before Hagire takes over Toto's body, he's seen taking care of/spending time with Shiro, who refers to him as 'grandpa'. He feeds her candy, cookies, and appears to give her free reign of the prison. It isn't out of the kindness of his heart or because he's become truly fond of her. It's simply because the Wonderland is her playground; the entire thing was contrived to reawaken her potential, and leaving her to do as she pleases without regards for the other prisoners is fine, even if they have no means to protect themselves from her lethal abilities. Not to downplay his fondness for authority. Even when he isn't formally in charge of Deadman Wonderland (due to his 'passing', abandoning his old body in exchange for Toto's) he has everyone dancing in the palm of his hand. He's good at keeping his intentions to himself while subtly trapping everyone in his web.

Patience isn't his thing, however, and negotiating doesn't typically work with him. He'll sooner cut someone down than try to appreciate their point of view. Fortunately one of his major fortes is manipulation. For him, pulling the strings sub rosa is just as enjoyable and easy as silencing someone for good. An example of his wily expertise: he has no problem testing on babies, yet he criticizes (teases) his subordinate, Sorae Igarashi, calling her harsh for partaking in such experiments and acting alarmed once she softens after giving birth to her son, Ganta (who was intended to be a test subject). Her ever-flourishing unwillingness to cooperate with inhumane research becomes and increasingly frustrating thing...because he's a selfish, childish, unfeeling baby himself, sheathed under the guise of a responsible, intelligent adult. The whole thing became too stressing for Sorae over time, of course; she's often seen crying during experiments from then on and ultimately takes her own life, unwilling to face her unethical assignments anymore.

Adjusting to a new body takes effort, so it seems. When Hagire first takes over Toto's body, he accidentally refers to himself using female honorifics. A short time later, he swaps the adult version for "I" in exchange for the more adolescent version. This bleeds into his personality overall. His thoughts can sometimes clash and blur, and he outright states that he doesn't bother overwriting Toto's mannerisms (like clapping out of excitement, for example) so his expression may not always match up with his words. He also has no respect for personal space and even seems to take pleasure in creating an awkward environment for everyone. But he's also easy to shake off and shoo away, so long as that message is clear.

While he's aloof to the suffering of others and in place of empathy is a swirling void of indifference, he's not an instigator in terms of combat. He won't randomly attack anyone on a whim, though he does walk with an air of invulnerable confidence. He's not shy about his abilities, but he can tell the difference between someone who wants his head versus someone elbowing him out of the way. His interest — which is a difficult thing to pique, relies heavily on the opposing party and how well he understands the surrounding area, because using things to his advantage is always relevant. Not unlike the Wretched Egg herself, he isn't as strong as he used to be and while you won't hear him complain about it, he's not going to dive into a situation that may leave him impaired.

Abilities/Powers: Deadmen are people who were infected by the Nameless Worm during the  Great Tokyo Earthquake. The infected are able to do supernatural things with their blood - use it to form a blade, whips, or even a net. Each person has a specific Branch of Sin allowing them a particular ability. Toto is one among these Deadmen, his Branch of Sin is called  Love☆Labyrinth.
⇒ Love☆Labyrinth allows him to mimic the skills and abilities of other Deadmen after consuming their flesh or tasting their blood. Because of this, he's easily one of the strongest to live within Deadman Wonderland.

⇒ His endurance and pain tolerance are 100% ridiculous. Toto's able to perform surgery on himself with out any anesthetic or numbing agents. He also regularly has to sew himself back together again, because his body is weak and in the 'adjusting' stages. He's also able to survive under extreme situations, like being crushed by a tower and losing both arms. Cuts, stabs, burns, nothing really phases him.

⇒ He can also heal himself, slowly, but he can't regenerate new limbs. Reattaching them is another story, but he can't randomly regrow legs or manipulate his blood to replace lost limbs.
His collection of abilities are as follows:
  • Crow Claw: Scythes that can emerge from any part of the body, usually from his forearms
  • Peacock’s Peak: Blood shaped like bramble-like constructs which can expand and be used to trap opponents or injure them.
  • Fist of Blood: Blood that covers the body, protecting and enforcing it.
  • Owl’s Eyeball: Bombs made of blood that can float freely and be triggered on command.
  • Condor Candle: Blood that can be set on fire at command.
  • Whip Wing: Blood whips that extend from the hair and can move at a fast rate.
  • Ganta Gun: A bullet made of blood that can be fired.

Among many others. Toto is seen regularly consuming the flesh of deceased (or otherwise) Deadmen, and  it's implied he's had a taste of just about all of them. At some point, he even manipulates his blood to form functional wings.

For Haven's sake (and mine) I'll only be having him use those abilities listed above. If that's still too much, I can further abbreviate that list.

Items/Weapons: Reading glasses, no weapons necessary.

Sample Entry Two: Still gaining his bearings, Toto's set his sights beyond the apartment he's woken up in. The destruction isn't new to him, and he's decided it's not worth his time. What's curious, though, is that tunnel leading to who-knows-where, and long story short: he couldn't have imagined a more amusing route "out" of this place. He wasn't warned ahead of time about the various monsters or vigilant undead guarding the tunnel that, unbeknownst to him, would lead him to a more appealing destination. Still confined but with more to do, more to look at, a few freedoms tossed here and there. Knowledge yet-acquired, as he's been forced to waste time squaring off with a hoard of — it's difficult to see in here, but it doesn't technically matter anyway. He's being targeted by something and retaliation ensues prior to taking any hits.

Using the pilfered ability 'Crow Claw', a blood scythe emerges from the back of his hand, which he expertly uses to dice up his assailants. The beasts are much larger than he is, but they barely pose a threat to the reigning champion of Deadman Wonderland.

"Sorry, sorry! If I held back on you guys, then I'd have to start holding back on everyone. That wouldn't be fair at all."

He crouches down by a piece of mystery meat. It's just enough to fill his palm and create a dribbly mess down the back of his hand, past his knuckles and departing at his wrist, trickling onto the filthy ground. Proceeding a sniff, he drops the meat in a fairly audible squishy noise. Tunnels are unfortunate echo chambers....

"But now I really have to find out what you're trying to protect...! ☆ "

He shakes his hand off, flicking as much blood from his fingers as possible before deciding to use the adjacent wall as a makeshift napkin. Cave paintings with Toto Sakigami, totally sanitary and not at all creepy. The wall isn't very good for sopping up blood, but it works to his satisfaction. Little does he know that he'll be able to wash his hands, presumably with soap if he can successfully make his way out of the tunnel. Before then, however, he's likely to tangle with the comrades of those he's just defeated. He anticipates it, if they're all traveling in packs like that, but he'd rather not sully his clothes. This is his only outfit, as it were.

Sanjuurou Hinata | Aphorism | Expired

[personal profile] infodumping 2014-03-28 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
SETTING; Aphorism is set in the future where students who can see an island floating in the sky are admitted to a special school called Naraka. The school is known for producing highly successful students, many of whom immediately advance from graduation into government work. It's not public information, but many students know what actually lies in Naraka regardless. It's eventually revealed that the floating island appeared around one century beforehand, and that a research center used to be where Naraka is now. When the island appeared, the center disappeared and Naraka replaced it—along with the headmaster and his guards. The headmaster is currently an imposter of a god named Yama, who arrived inside of the school with several demands:

Deem this building a school and establish it as such. Starting from 1960, send in students every year. They are to be those who can see the island and have reached the age of fifteen. There will be approximately 200 positions. As for expenses, provide about half the budget you do for national defense, so that the children who attend can do so free of charge. Decide on a name for school, and so forth. You have three days to accept my demands. If they are rejected, you can be sure that I will rain hell upon this planet.

ABILITIES; Each student on the first day is asked to write a character that means "protection" for them. For example, Hinata's character is "chi/智" meaning precise information. Moments after, the paper is destroyed and a symbol appears on the students body - normally randomly, but always in an easy to see place, usually on the arms. This character is activated by thought and movement and can summon the power of the character's meaning if the person wielding it has a clear vision of what they want to happen.

BLIGHT; And then the Blight. On certain days when the weather is right, something will come from the island above and the students will have to take part in a dangerous battle—either of wits or strength. Each Blight has its own character, similar to the students, and they're not always different. For example, Judgement happens every year and kills students who have sinned in some way. There are different types of Blights, such as separation type—which as named, separates the students from each other while they try to win.

CHARACTER HISTORY; Hinata came from a family that's already had one successful student - his older sister graduated twelve years before he did and is now a government official for the school. Because of this, he was in prime position to be used as a 'trump card' for the students in the same year as him. He researched past students and their powers, past Blights and their characters and has extensive knowledge of the school. Because of this, he can pull up information on most Blights—his power only works with what he's experienced before.

During his school year, Hinata thinks of himself as the leader of the students because of his position and reports in to his sister. However, thus begins Izuru Tomonaga's reign over class four—he kept them in line by threatening to kill or amputate. At one point Hinata traps Tatsumi, one of Tomonaga's classmates, and lies to him about what happens after school to those who have killed other students in order to get him to admit that Tomonaga had forced the class to get a frightened student to use her powers, no matter what. Tomonaga finds out that Tatsumi had told Hinata about him, and that he had been planning on telling him more and takes Tatsumi's vocal chords with the power of "steal." After escaping from him once, Rokudou is then killed by Tomonaga by having his heart "stolen." "Other Rokudou" uses the power of "Change" to turn into his alter ego and delay Rokudou's death until he could replace the heart—and since Rokudou's original heart was unusable, stepped on by Tomonaga, he set off to take Tomonaga's heart instead, which prompted the classes to begin fighting one another.

The students end up capturing Tomonaga's classmates when they were sent to kill them and they interrogate them for his whereabouts. However, before they could get to him, God's Blight appears and separates them all. Hinata is paired with Tatsumi and Tobari, another from class four who follows Tomonaga and they get bombarded with images of their deaths because they chose to stay in the same area. When they don't react with violence, the god of the Blight lets them go. During this time, "Other Rokudou" is paired with Tomonaga. He kills him and takes his heart, which lets the normal Rokudou wake up.

When Hinata wakes up after the Blight, he wonders if Tomonaga will be there—instead, he is greeted with the site of "Other Rokudou" covered in Tomonaga's blood and Tomonaga's dead body laying nearby. This prompts Hinata to demand to know who "Other Rokudou" is exactly, as he believes that he's not just an alter ego. However, "Other Rokudou" disappears and the normal one returns. Hinata then tells Aira that the other is only an ally of Rokudou's, not theirs. Hinata's sister then orders all information on Tomonaga's brother destroyed.

Because he doesn't trust "Other Rokudou" he calls a meeting between Noa, Mino, Hakamada, Aira and himself—and asks Rokudou to leave. In the meeting, Hinata tells the others that the headmaster Yama is a god, one who's appearance hasn't changed at all since Naraka showed up one hundred years prior. He also tells them about the research center that used to be where the school is now—how scans were done on people who could see the island, attempts were made to land on the island, which would disappear once they got close to it, and how they tried to communicate with the inhabitants of the island. One day, the entire research center disappeared—along with everyone inside—and the school took its place. After telling them the story about Yama's demands, he tells them that a stone marker was found in a bomb shelter, approximately two million years old. It had writings on it talking about a calamity in Yamato and a prophecy about the malevolent god Yama—that when the island in the sky revealed itself, the heavenly god, the malevolent god, would take the world by bringing calamity down... "or something like that." Hinata's words, as the translations on the setting's end were not clear.

Later, Hinata is one of the characters who confronts the headmaster (known as fake Yama) about the island and a deal that the government wanted to make with him. After a rejection (and after insulting Hinata with comments about his uselessness) Hinata then shoots him with an arrow, resulting in a nonfatal wound; he's then attacked by "the other Rokudou" who is finally revealed to be Krishna, a friend of the "real" Yama. After "fake" Yama orders Krishna to kill them, Krishna refuses, saying that it's not something "real" Yama would ever want.

Once back in his shared room, Hinata and the others relay the information to his sister who reprimands them for not getting Yama to accept negotiation. A few moments later, Uruma arrives and reveals that his power was similar to Rokudou's—he could change into a corpse, which had fooled him earlier when distracting the guards. He also reveals that he has the same information that Hinata has, and that everyone should follow him instead. The students refuse, as Hinata's been doing his best.

Days come and Blights go—Hinata was nearly useless in Flower, after stating that they needed to order a pesticide, he soon lost his memories due to the Blight and was only a burden on the rest of them. After that came Kingdom, where the students are separated into groups once more. Hinata's group is working within the government of a kingdom, and all of his notes on the previous Kingdoms have shown that the same group he's in was killed the previous year, with no mention as to how or why. Uruma has the answer—an assassination—but refuses to tell Hinata because he actually hopes for him to die so that he can become the 'leader.'

NOTE: Anything past this is still ongoing, and past his canon point.

[personal profile] infodumping 2014-03-28 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Hinata is a prickly guy. He's outright rude and doesn't pull out any stops—there's no sugarcoating it with this kid. He can be vindictive at times and while his power is wisdom he's nothing like the stereotypes that come with it. He's not sagely or full of advice—when he asks Rokudou why he's so down, he then adds in with "Is it erectile dysfunction?" He's also bad at English and is happy to demand answers from other students. He might not think he's better than any other student, but he talks very highly of himself and keeps that air up for others to see, even if he doesn't always feel that great himself.

He isn't a terrible person, though. He genuinely wants to help as many students survive as he can—barring Hakamada, since he uses his powers of recovery as a guinea pig. If someone needs his help, he'll give it. He also listens to authority, even if he might argue with it at times. And despite the fact that he can't admit it, he genuinely likes his friends and is properly horrified whenever something happens to one of them.

One of Hinata's main flaws is his ego. It's probably the size of a small planet. He doesn't handle his faults being aired out into public very well, at one point shutting down completely because he was told that he was useless. He gets to deal with this on a daily basis, as Uruma is after his position—a position he's proud of. He doesn't take failure well, and anything to slight how awesome he appears is always met with his frustration. He's also terrible at apologising, especially when he's in the wrong—he'll look for any way out of it. And he only admits friendship when he needs something; he wanted Rokudou to come with him into the cursed Class Five because he was scared to go alone, so he baited him with "We're friends, aren't we?" and Rokudou immediately knew something was off. Hinata doesn't do the usual friend thing, even if he feels like he has them.

Despite his superiority complex, Hinata hides behind a wall of insecurity. At times he doesn't seem to believe it himself, but after Yama called him useless and Uruma appeared, he's shown challenging himself more. He went into Naraka with the decision to be the secret weapon—someone with knowledge of the Blights to be used as an advantage. A trump card. If he fails that, not only does he face his own death and the death of his friends and classmates, but he faces the fact that he failed—that Uruma and Yama were right. He's compared to his sister, the Director; more often than not, to be told that she didn't need him. When upset, he tends to stare blankly and go unresponsive to his friends for awhile, until he can snap himself out of it.

Hinata's goal is to lead his classmates to graduation with as little trouble as possible. It's nearly impossible to avoid all problems, what with a Blight appearing every few days to every few weeks, but he's got a mindset that has him focused on succeeding, no matter what. However, despite wanting to survive, he also wants to find out the mysteries behind Yama and the floating island—the Director told him that he needs to find out why those things happened, why Naraka exists and to find out what Yama really wants. His long term goals is survival of himself and his classmates—he doesn't put his own life before others really unless it's necessary. His short term goal is to find out as much as he can about the world of Aphorism before graduation day, including more about Other Rokudou. And if it comes to it, he wants to defeat Yama and those that follow him.

Hinata believes in the fact that he's to be used as a trump card. He believes in doing what the government wants him to do, but he's got his own suspicious about them as well. Currently, he thinks that the government is doing what's right, so he'll follow along—partially because his own sister is the one making decisions. More than anything, he believes in doing what's right and doing whatever needs to be done to get to that point. He'll lie without guilt if he needs to, and he'll turn against his fellow students if he feels like they are a danger to the rest of them, such as when he took part in an interclass war against Tomonaga. As he picked the symbol 'chi' for wisdom, nobody knows if he fully believes that would protect him. The standard is "Pick a character/symbol that means protection for you." Hinata already knew about Naraka and had planned on picking wisdom from the get go, as his role as the trump card needed that specific symbol.

And due to his personality, Hinata is harder to get along with. He can chat normally with people, but he'll often throw in comments that show that he's got a high opinion of himself. He's not ashamed of himself, he'll even walk around the boy's bath without a towel in order to show off the fact that he didn't have any strange marks—all while grinning proudly. Characters that have known him for awhile are used to this kind of thing and simply tolerate him, because in a tough situation, Hinata does his best and can usually pull through for the sake of everyone. In that regard, he's genuine about wanting to help. He's also willing to talk about the things in his knowledge database and doesn't mind showing off his power... despite it not sounding like the coolest thing ever. At very rare times, Hinata can be nice. It's basically unheard of and usually met with "Who is this imposter?!" but if he really feels that the person deserves some comfort... he'll give them a small pat on the back and a you tried sticker.

There's a good, friendly person deep down... somewhere in there.

Hinata's power of wisdom is only a part of the role of trump card. He needs to be a great strategist and able to think quickly— and he does. He's able to make decisions quickly and usually for the better of the people around him. He can lie almost flawlessly and isn't hesitant to hurt someone if he feels the deserve it. While he's against murder, he's not against interrogation. He's also not afraid to throw Hakamada under a bus constantly, since Hakamada can revive from death and Hinata likes to use him to judge what they're dealing with, much to Hakamada's chagrin. At one point, he even starts practicing his swings in order to use a bat to kill him with... yeah.

As for relationships, most of them are somewhat strained due to his personality and Uruma wanting to take over his position. His sister constantly scolds him and shows no familial emotion towards him, which he meets with sadness. Uruma constantly wears at his mental state, as he doesn't really realise why Uruma hates him so much; when he was younger, he insulted the machine Uruma's mom gave her life to create so that Uruma could be the trump card. He hates working with anyone on the same level as him, as he wants to be the sole leader and have everyone rely on him and his power—so being told to work together with Uruma was, needless to say, a big sting.

He genuinely feels friendship towards some of his classmates—his roommate, Rokudou, who he also distrusts because of his connection to Naraka and Yama thanks to the power of change and Other Rokudou. He's also close to two other students in his class who were his friends from middle school; they're used to his personality and can tolerate him better than anyone. Also, he had a crush on Mino until he realised that Mino was... a guy.

When upset, Hinata retreats into himself to have moments of self-deprecation. He also enjoys chewing on things and having them stick out of his mouth. He's bad English, but great at any other subject. He's okay with showing off his butt. He tends to get loud when annoyed, and isn't at all graceful in the way he speaks or dresses—he never uses a tie, and discusses how a god ad why a god would need to shit.

Abilities/Powers:
Hinata chose the symbol 'chi' which means wisdom primarily. By touching his mark, he can summon up a panel of information on things he knows about.

...Which seems pretty useless, but in the setting of Aphorism, it's priceless. The students work on the knowledge of previous years, which Hinata studied before coming to Naraka. Since he knows nothing about Haven, he will not be able to pull any information from it unless he learns enough. An example of his power is to find weaknesses and solutions to fighting a creature—again, only one he knows the name and type of. Any enemies he faces in Haven will have their details added to his database.

Also, as symbols can have many meanings, it's possible that Hinata can have alternate ways of using his powers. As of his canon point, he hasn't acknowledged any of them, but for reference his symbol can also mean to speak quickly, to point out issues quickly and precisely. There are many references to arrows in his meanings, but the only time he's used an arrow is when... he used someone's bow to shoot Yama with one.

Sample Entry:
[ Good morning. Is it good? Who knows—Hinata certainly doesn't think so. The video opens up to Hinata removing his hand from the phone as it's propped up against his pillows before crossing his arms. ]

Hey, long time no see. I've found something not in my database. [ Huge shocker, right?! Doesn't this guy act like he knows everything? ] How do you fix a toilet? I'm sure it depends on what's broken, but how do you even find that out? There's water, but nothing happens when you flush.

[ ... ]

No, I didn't take a shit in it before figuring out that it was broken, if that's what you're thinking. But eventually someone's going to have to go. I want to spare them the humiliation of having a giant shit in the toilet and no way to get rid of it.

[ He has to go right now. He happens to like his ass, he doesn't want to freeze it off by going outside. ]

Sample Entry Two:
Going out into the monster-infested tunnels by himself was the worst possible idea. Sure, the data he gained was important, but this wasn't the school. There wasn't anyone nearby to come, ugh, help him if he got pinned by a beast. At least he had the foresight to stay near the entrance and didn't wander in very far. It wasn't long before something large with way too many legs came rushing towards him and he had to backpedal hard, nearly falling on his rear in the process. Yeah, never doing that again.

That was this morning. Now he's sitting on the edge of the well, placing two fingers to the left side of his neck and watching as various lines and pictures float around him. It's almost like a holograph—totally cool, if he says so himself. The lack of actual writing is annoying. He actually misses the strange language of the Blights. But regardless, it's still possible to get to his database though the mark on his neck... it's just different. Harder to navigate, weirder to look at.

He taps a few panels, reviewing the information he received on the leggy monster. There isn't much; especially since none of it's anything new from what he can figure out himself. With a loud scoff, he waves his hand across the panels and they disappear.

Useless. He hates the word. Sure, it was out of his hands, but it doesn't matter. He's trained for this kind of thing... even if he expected something completely different while going through said training. This isn't a Blight. For awhile, he had hoped that it was just a Blight that no one had ever heard of. Something extra from the fake Yama to piss them off. A separation type, since he was away from most of the others.

But it isn't, and this kind of thing isn't in his notes... not that he can access them. His computer worked, but all of the text is missing in action. There's nothing except the knowledge of how to deal with separation type Blights to help him here, and only the stuff he has memorised—which, of course, is a lot. His memories are priceless, even if not all of them will be of any use here. He needs to find out as much as he can to add to his knowledge, but he also can't lose his life in the process. The only option is... asking for help. He cringes, leaning his chin on his palm.

That's not really his strong suit... but neither is dying. Too bad Hakamada isn't here, huh? Either way, it's time for Hinata to get his shit together, and he knows it. There's a couple of people he can ask before feeling too desperate. He pulls his cell phone out—the older technology makes him cringe, especially after living in the luxurious Naraka for months—and begins scrolling through the list. It's hard to judge who's open to fighting unknown monsters just so Hinata can get info on them, but he has to try regardless. The database might open up to something he couldn't see himself, and that could be the key to everything.

Or so he wants to believe. It's hard to feel important in a place like this. It's terrible for his complexion! And his ego suffers more than anything—it takes a lot of willpower for him to press the call button, but he does it regardless.

Re: Akira Takizawa | Eden of the East | reserve expired

[personal profile] obligedly 2014-03-28 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:

There is nothing simple when it comes to Takizawa’s character. His real identity is still unknown, even to himself due to wiping out his own memory. With no recollection of his family or his own birthday, he often finds himself questioning himself and his past due to a memory lost. At first, everything he was finding out about himself was sketchy, with his many aliases, his apartment full of automatic firearms and a single picture of him with the thousands of NEETs that went missing directly after a terrorist attack known as “Careless Monday.”

Mentally, he is often battling with himself and questioning whether or not he was responsible for the missile attacks and for the missing NEETS.

Was he wanted terrorist?

However, he soon finds out that he is part of a very dangerous game along with eleven other people who were handpicked by a wealthy business man. They were known as the Seleção and their objective was to save Japan. With no questions asked, each member was given ten billion yen and a phone that was able to perform these tasks with the help of an artificial intelligence known as Juiz. If a Seleção uses up their balance without showing any results to better the country, they are wiped out from game. The penalty is death.

With a possibility of being branded as a terrorist, Takizawa still seems to be a decent person at heart and often shows concern for the people around him, even if they’ve just met. He had showed sympathy for other Seleçãos when they were at their end of their ropes with little to no hope of winning the game and even offer to split his balance to keep them alive. He had also shown kindness to Saki, a girl he had only just met, by going out of his way to help her by getting her out of trouble from the police. To say the least, he is compassionate and despises seeing others in pain or going through a difficult time.

This was also displayed when he met face to face with the Johnny Hunter (Seleçãos No. 11 ), who’s idea of justice was mutilating rapists by snipping off their manhood. Despite of her twisted way to better Japan’s society, Takizawa had a clear understanding of her and her action, noticing that she was more than likely hurt in the past by a man.

But there’s also a side of him, an angrier side to him, which is shown when he sees people manipulating others to do their dirty work for them. He has often expressed his bitterness towards Mr. Outside and said several times how he wanted to “clock him” in the head for forcing people to play his game. However, when he finds Mr. Outside true identity and actual age, Takizawa backed out of his plans, stating “He wouldn’t feel right hitting an old man.”

Due to his shady persona, his endless resources, and his ability to perform acts that ordinary person would be incapable of doing, some (notably the members of Eden of the East) had a difficult time trusting a person like Takizawa and often question Saki’s involvement with him. Takizawa never seemed bothered by this; if anything he seems to always just laugh it off.

This leads to another part of his character, his positive yet eccentricities behavior. He has the tendency to act strange and even oblivious to the things around him. When he first appears, his nude body is exposed for the entire world to see and yet, this doesn't seem to bother him in the slightest. When a police officer asks to see his “Johnny”, he doesn’t think twice about dropping down his pants to prove his innocence. He even laughs about it afterwards. Simply put, he’s an optimistic individual.

His optimistic about life also makes him charming, something that perhaps attracted Saki and soon after, the rest of the Eden of the East members. Despite of their lack of trust in him, the other member later on take notice of his sincerity and will to help them met their goals.

“and so he became a prince in this world without a king.”

Later on, Takizawa does regained some of his memories with the help of the other Seleçãos’ knowledge of the events that occurred on Careless Monday. He is hit with the harsh reality of why he erased his memories in the first place. He learns that he wasn’t a terrorist at all and in fact a hero. He sorted out to protect Japan from the missile attacks with help of 20,000 NEETs and used his own resource to prevent the attacks from happening, successfully. However, the media became fickle over the NEETs knowledge of the attack and started questioning them, which lead them to turn to Takizawa for guidance. Takizawa knew deep down, that they would become victims of the mass media and took the blame.

All of the blame.

So with his selflessness spinning out of control, he painted himself as the nation’s villain and took the blame for the missile attacks. This results in provoking the NEET’s rage upon him. Furthermore, he packs all 20,000 NEETs onto a couple of cargo boats and ships them to Dubai for three month to shield them away from the media, in hopes by the time they return, the events of Careless Monday would had died down. This caused a great deal of pain for Takizawa which lead to his memory wipe. Feeling betrayed by his nation and friends was the one thing had crushed his spirits.

All in all and throughout the entire of the series, Takizawa is shown to be a unique individual and a good person at heart. Some would say that he’s complex character, however there’s really nothing complex about him at all. He’s merely a good person who wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s willing to destroy his own image for the greater good of the nation or to help out a friend in need.

Sample Entry: sample one!

Sample Entry Two:

At this point, waking up in a strange place with no recollection of how exactly he actually got there was nothing new to him. If anything, he was used to it and at least this time around, he had some of his memories still intact. That alone was a plus!

Speaking of memories, what was the last thing he was doing? There was his promise to Saki and then there was his first meeting with Mr. Outside himself. But after that, everything was one giant fog and he couldn’t remember anything after that.

This place was unfamiliar with him, but he knew for certain that it wasn’t Tokyo. Well, at least he was actually dressed this time around and his Johnny was exposed to the cold crisp air. However, that didn’t stop his mind from spinning with idea that this was just another stepping stone in Mr. Outside’s plan to fix Japan.

“Seriously, What gives!?” His voice spoke out suddenly, coming his hand through the shaggy mop also known as his hair. “I’m pretty sure that I agreed to help that old man out...”

Sighing out, his hand falls back down to his side.

“Maybe he’s just becoming senile due to his old age. Well, if that’s the case. I guess it can’t be helped.”
