Applications Two

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED!
The next application opening date is Friday 16th January, 7pm EST.
The next application processing date is Friday 23rd January, 7pm EST.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE POST YOUR APPLICATIONS HERE ON THE NEW APPLICATION PAGE

We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.

We now have a test drive community at [community profile] haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.

While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

To see what we are looking for:

Background/History: Here
Personality:
At first glance, Speedy doesn't seem like the kind of guy you'd want on your team of teenage super heroes. And maybe after knowing him more, you still wouldn't want him there. He's arrogant, cocky, argumentative, has issues with authority and seems more concerned about his hair than the team. However, you can't deny his skill; he's cunning, thinks fast on his feet, shoots arrows even faster and works well under pressure. While he does tend to chafe with members of his team, he rarely, if ever, is malicious about teasing them. While you won't see him making any sappy declarations of the power of friendship any time soon, he really does care for the ragtag team that makes up Titans East. His teasing of Aqualad never seems to end, but that's only because Roy has a very twisted way of showing his affection. When the team first gathered, Roy was a relentless ass to all four of his teammates just to try and assert that even though he was on a team, he did not need one but as the team bonded and began working together instead of against each other, he became less of an overwhelming jerk and more like a kid that pulls on a girl's hair because he likes her. Over time he has come to accept Bumblebee as a leader and will actually listen to her commands, though not without the occasional argument.

He does have a bit of a temper, especially when being compared to or mistaken for Robin. This is played for laughs nearly every time they're shown together in the series, but even that doesn't stop the two from being good friends and geeking out over their superhero toys. While he and Robin are eerily similar (sometimes even more so than in the comics), there are still a few key differences between them; Roy is a little less calculating during fights and can get caught up in the moment, and he tends to go with his gut feeling more than with a plan in mind. He's much more impulsive and prone to rash decisions than his bat counterpart and that leads to more than a few arguments over strategies. His similarities with Robin mainly stem from how he was introduced as a "Robin twin" in Winner Take All, but by the time he joined the Titans East, he'd gained more of his own character.

While his background is not officially released in the course of the series, it can be reasonably assumed that it is very similar to his comic self. Being raised by Navajo has greatly influenced Roy's personal beliefs about life and death and ultimately made him into an atheist of sorts. He doesn't think about what will happen after he dies, instead focusing on being alive and staying that way. He has a very casual relationship with his spirituality, taking a 'whatever will be, will be' stance. Despite his laissez faire attitude, he isn't very willing to open up to others, even his teammates. While he trusts them and thinks of them as friends, he doesn't confide in them or tell them if something is going wrong in his personal life; he takes care of it himself. That leaves him feeling very unattached at times, but even he knows that no matter what happens, he will always have the Titans to fall back against. In that way, he is one of the most loyal and trustworthy people in the Titans; even after joining the Justice League and going on to bigger things, he would go back when they needed him.

Abilities/Powers: While having no supernatural abilities, Speedy has spent his entire life practicing archery and the last several years being a superhero. Before joining Titans East, he was very successful acting solo, which is pretty impressive considering he's often matched against metas. He's also a very excellent tracker (either the first or second best in the business, depending on who you ask) and he just plain knows how to survive.

Items/Weapons: Does a quiver-full of arrows count as one item? Other than that, his bow and the mirror he keeps in his quiver.

Sample Entry: Here!
Sample Entry Two:
Roy was awake. Sort of. The kind of awake where his shoulder kept bumping into doorways even though he was so damn sure he'd walked straight through it. He'd have been embarrassed if anyone else had bothered to get up that early.

Being alone on the early morning shift sucked.

With a yawn that made his jaw ache a little, he rubbed sleep out of his eyes with one hand while the other went through the dull routine of making coffee. The tower was eerily quiet when everyone was sleeping. No twins running around, their Spanish almost as fast as their feet; no Aqualad and Bumblebee arguing over whatever happened to be the topic of the day. It was as nice as it was extremely strange to be able to sit on the counter in the kitchen and not be yelled at, or asked to make pancakes or waffles or lasagna or whatever it was the twins wanted.

Grunting in pleasure-pain as he stretched out his back until he heard a cacophony of cracks, Roy tossed some bread into the toaster from the opposite counter. It went in perfectly and he couldn't help but smirk; even half-asleep, his aim was perfect. He tossed a rubber ball he'd found that undoubtedly belonged to Mas y Menos at the lever, hoping the dial was somewhere decently between not-done-at-all and charcoal because if it wasn't, he wasn't going over there to change it.

Not until he had a mug of coffee in him, at least.

Character Name: Kakashi Hatake
Canon: Naruto
Canon Point: After the Kyuubi has been defeated
Background/History: Kakashi was born into a world of high expectations. He was the son of a prodigy considered on-par with the legendary sannin, and it wasn't a surprise when he turned out to be just as much a prodigy as his father. Konoha was in dire need of geniuses at the time, with the Third Great Shinobi War escalating and their forces beginning to run thin. He spent his entire childhood training, learning jutsu and perfecting techniques most ninja his age weren't set to learn for another ten years or so. He learned at an alarming rate, graduating from the genin academy at age five at the top of his class. A mere year later, he was already a chuunin.

However, as is common in the world of shinobi, his life was tragic from early on. When Kakashi was still at the age where most Nin were just beginning to learn how to throw shuriken, his father made what would be considered the greatest mistake of his life - he failed a mission in order to save his comrades, which ended up hurting Konoha in the war. The once-revered man was disgraced, and he fell into a deep depression before ultimately killing himself. This incident effected the young Kakashi in the worst of ways - he swore to always live by the shinobi code, no matter what may happen.

It was many years after this that he was placed on Team Minato, along with Rin and Uchiha Obito. He and Obito had completely opposing views regarding the importance of teamwork, and it was mainly because of this that they argued so much. While Kakashi stood adamant by the shinobi code that called for the mission to precede all else and stated that those who broke the rules were trash, Obito believed that taking care of each other was more important than completing the mission to code. The two boys were so different, it was a wonder they didn't completely fail missions due to their bickering.

It was during another one of these missions that an event that would again change Kakashi's life happened. It wasn't just a normal mission, however - it was Kakashi's inauguration as a Jounin; his first time being the Commander of a squad. The mission was to sneak in among the fighting between Konoha and Iwagakure and destroy a bridge to prevent the enemy from using it to their advantage. Despite the importance of their mission, the team took a little time to congratulate Kakashi on his promotion to Jounin, both Minato and Rin presenting him with gifts. Minato gave him a special kunai with a certain jutsu that would alert him when it was used, though Kakashi didn't know that at the time, and Rin gave him a basic medical kit. The prodigy extended a hand towards the Uchiha expectantly, but Obito only loudly proclaimed that he had forgotten to get a gift.

The group moved on, oblivious to what truly lay ahead of them. While making their way to the check point where students would separate from teacher, the group became aware of an enemy Nin spying on them. Wanting to try out a powerful but imperfect jutsu that he'd created, Kakashi demanded that he confront the enemy. It was the Chidori's first appearance in battle and although it appeared to work just as the teen had planned, the tunnel-vision that the jutsu created almost cost the Hatake his life. Minato's quick thinking and actions allowed Kakashi to get off with just an injured shoulder and he was forbidden from ever using that jutsu again. Despite Kakashi's protests, the group went back to their camp for the night, but only Minato had thoroughly chastised both Obito and Kakashi.

The next morning they made it to the split-off point and the three teenagers were off on their own. Obito took Kakashi by surprise by respecting his position as commander, due to a talk the Uchiha and their sensei had had the night before. After traveling closer to the bridge, the small group clashed with two adult Rock Nins. The teens evaded their attacks for only so long, and the two adults ended up capturing Rin.

Once again, the boys found themselves holding completely opposite views. Kakashi insisted on continuing on their mission, but Obito was set on rescuing Rin. The argument abruptly came to blows when the Uchiha struck Kakashi across the face in an attempt to knock sense into him. It didn't work, though, and after Kakashi claimed that emotions are unnecessary for shinobi, Obito reached his breaking point and began to walk away. Before he left to go after Rin, however, he told the Hatake that although those who break the rules are trash, those who don't help their companions are even worse.

It is those words that eventually convince Kakashi to go back and help Obito, and the prodigy arrived just in time to rescue the perilous Uchiha from whatever fate was to await him at the enemy's hands. The two boys fought together to defeat one of the Rock Nin that captured Rin, however, the man manages to take out Kakashi's left eye. Obito's Sharingan was activated by seeing Kakashi in pain and with this new-found power, he managed to defeat the man.

After wrapping up Kakashi's useless eye with the medical pack Rin had given him, the boys entered the cave Rin was being kept in. They took down the remaining man and released Rin from the genjutsu she was put under. Their joy was short-lived, however, as the man was down but not out. He caused the cave to begin to collapse around them and the team attempted to run out. Kakashi was knocked down by a rock flying down in his blind spot, however, and the Jounin tumbled to the ground. Obito doubled back, throwing him out of the way of the crumbling rocks and getting crushed himself.

All three were trapped and the right half of Obito's body was completely crushed by the huge boulders. All efforts to even budge them were useless and Obito knew he was dying. The Uchiha laughed, saying that he'd thought up a gift for Kakashi, though it was a little late. He asked Rin to transplant his Sharingan eye into Kakashi's now-useless eye. He said that this would allow him to live on, to keep on seeing the world after he passed.

The procedure was done and Kakashi broke through the rubble, defeating the Nin that had trapped them in the cave. Reinforcements were arriving quickly, however, and the cave was beginning to give in more. He helped Rin out and the two watched as Obito was buried in the rocks; the two barely escaped from the enemy. Unfortunately they were found again, but Kakashi stood, intending to die to protect Rin if he had to, to keep his promise to Obito.

He then blacked out, only to wake up later, safe and at his sensei's side. It was then he learned of the jutsu placed on the kunai Minato had given him. The blond had come to their rescue, defeating all the Rock Nin and taking the young duo to safety.

In the end, it was the Battle of Kanabi Bridge that would start Kakashi's ascent to fame, though that wouldn't be for several more years.

Not long before the Kyuubey attack, Kakashi went on a mission with Rin, his remaining teammate, and ended up killing her with his Chidori, his signature move. This traumatized him greatly, giving him horrible nightmares. Concerned for his mental health, his teacher (who was now Hokage) put him in ANBU, the shadow corps of the ninja world. Because that's what you do when someone is traumatized, you send them on more difficult, even more traumatizing and depersonalizing missions. No one said ninja senseis had to be good at therapy.

Anyway, that went about as well as expected, Kakashi was assigned the special duty of watching the Hokage's pregnant girlfriend who also happened to be carrying the Kyuubey along with her son.

Looooooong story short, during the baby's birth the seal on the ancient demon weakened, this was manipulated by a Very Bad Man, who unleashed the Kyuubey demon on the ninja village, and both Kushina (Minato's girlfriend) and Minato himself died saving the village by binding the demon to their newborn son. Thus Kakashi was left all alone in the ninja world with no family, no teammates and a secretive organization to disappear into.
Previous Game History: Kakashi first arrived in Facility only a week after receiving Obito's eye. Not too long after arriving, he was sent back to his world until after the Kyuubi attack and consequent death of his sensei. As if his life at home weren't bad enough, his time at Facility was nothing short of horrific. Between the constant experiments and less-than-moral residents, it's a wonder he went as long as he did without dying. One resident in particular, Madara, caused a lot of trouble for the shinobi. During Madara-is-your-God week, the Uchiha tore out Kakashi's eyes, cut a permanent smile into the face of both him and his father, and brought Hanatarou in to heal them so that he would remain alive to experience the torture of other Facilitiers. After that mess, Kakashi had some trouble with three different Obitos. The first was catatonic often and then terminated. The second was only there for a week, part of the experiment, and during that week, Kakashi was brain-washed by Madara and ordered to kill Obito, then himself. It wasn't too long after that that he finally gave in and went to Milla for some psychological help. Opening up that much to someone was hardly an easy thing for him to do, but he felt that it was necessary for his own sanity. The third Obito, still a resident in Facility, practically gets a saga all his own. In the time that Obito arrived, the boys fought, made up, fought again and had more awkward talks than can be described if I want to keep this app at a reasonable length. The latest fight ended up with Obito stabbing Kakashi to death, but that was only due to the current experiment!

It wasn't all blood and gore, of course. There were some happy times, most of them involving Kakashi getting drunk with Tsunade and Shikamaru. He even had a budding romance with Tenzou, though the two never got past kissing each other's cheeks, and that was with a complete lack of inhibitions.

And that was Kakashi's life in Facility, in brief.
Personality: Hatake Kakashi was a very happy child, surprisingly. Up to the point where his father shamed himself and committed suicide, he was almost always smiling, laughing and generally being a cute little kid. He was serious about his studies and training, however, and it's because of this natural ability to focus when it was necessary that he graduated from the academy at age five. After his father's failed mission and consequent suicide, however, that happy child all but disappeared. In his place was a serious child obsessed with following the shinobi rule book completely, a boy that was far too mature for his age. His entire life became dedicated to redeeming the Hatake name, in his eyes, and it was with this in mind that he kept on training and learning.

It wasn't until Obito's death that he was snapped out of the white-and-black world that he'd been living in for the past seven years. Obito's words and eye affected his personality in ways he couldn't explain. At the point where I'm taking him from, he's still making that transition. Although his ideals have changed and he now thinks that helping teammates is more important than completing the mission, he is still particularly serious. His anger has mainly been changed to depression, mostly because of the guilt he feels over Obito's death.

In the two years since Obito's death, most of which was spent in Facility, Kakashi has been on a roller-coaster of emotion. He's gone through periods of depression only to have hope returned by the help of someone close to him. He pretty much could be diagnosed with bipolar disorder at this point. While he tries not to get too close to anyone for fear that they'll be gone in a week, people keep worming their way into his heart and he needs their support more than he'll ever admit. Some notable examples of this are Milla and Tenzou, the former he has literally let into his mind to help him sort things out.
Abilities/Powers: Kakashi is a jack of all trades when it comes to being a shinobi. Although his specialty is with jutsus, he is also extremely proficient in weapons as well as hand to hand combat. His family's chakra is extremely adaptable and it's because of that that he can learn so many different types of jutsu. Recently he acquired a Sharingan in his left eye, which allows him to copy any jutsu that he sees and increases his already-sharp perception. As time goes on, he will develop more skills with it, but at the point I'm taking him from, he hasn't had it very long. He also has an extremely strong sense of smell that's on par with a dog's.

In Facility, he gained another tomoe on his Sharingan, learned basic healing from Tsunade and generally improved in all areas of fighting and tracking, as any genius would from years going by.

Items/Weapons: An obsidian kunai with a wooden handle (a present from Tenzou), his summoning scroll for his dogs, and oddly enough, an embroidered pillow
Sample Entry: A birthday present.
Sample Entry Two: Vampire noms.

Personality:
Whatever you’re expecting when you hear “Clone Sigmund Freud” is probably what you will find. True to his original, Freud is highly intelligent, very stoic, and has all those same hang-ups that his original had as well. Hell, the guy even acts like your sterotypical psychologist. Though don’t be fooled, despite being a clone, Freud has his own gambit of interesting traits that define him from his original.

Freud’s default is stoic. He’s serious and thoughtful, not one to smile, and highly composed. Of their group of friends, he tends to be the most serious. In fact, after Clone Mozart’s attempted suicide, Shiro’s friends threw a party, and Freud’s forced exuberance, to put it simply, was alarming and distinctly out of character. His seriousness overarchs nearly all situations, being stony faced and almost unfeeling. When thrown into a lockerroom full of mostly undressed women, Freud remains stoney faced as Shiro flailed desperately behind him. They weren't taking a peep, he had claimed, but rather ensuring that they were "developing properly," and that confuses the girls long enough to delay the inevitable beat down. Even being propositioned by Clone Cixi doesn't break him as he offers little more than bargaining and a light blush.

As an observer, Freud is often seen in the background of situations, taking in what’s happening around him, rather than stepping forward and speaking his mind. Blame it on the psychologist he was cloned to be, Freud uses his knowledge of psychology to get him around in the world. He's clearly a follower of Freud's work (which shouldn't come as a surprise, but clones have shown signs of diverging from the paths of their originals!), and keeps tabs on those who study the Freudian ways. He even gloats a little about his original, as if the original Freud's acheivements were his own – yet at the same time, Freud will also correct people in that mislead preception.

Psychoanalysis isn’t beyond him. Clone Mozart is a real dick, shaming Clone Marie Currie for aspiring to become a musician and consequently ‘failing’ her goals as a clone, and degrading Shiro for being a non-Clone and thus inferior to clones. A devastating fight between Mozart and Shiro leaves Shiro crushed and Mozart walks away proudly. However, as Mozart leaves, Freud stops him, and comments that Mozart certainly seemed terribly worked up about a non-Clone whom he called inferior. “I wonder why that is?” he finishes, staring holes into Mozart's ego. The results were more destructive than Shiro’s attempt to get back. Because of Freud’s open observations, Mozart destroyed his room and was thrown into depression. Freud knows what’s up, basically, from his observations as a psychologist. Later in the series, after learning a heaping buttload about the generation of clones before theirs, Freud openly admits that he wishes he could have sat them down and taken a look into their psyche.

And if you thought you were going to walk into an application about Clone Sigmund Freud without some debauched view on sex, I am so sorry you were mislead, because like his original, even Clone Freud has his hang ups. As mentioned before, Freud remains stoney faced when presented with a room full of undressed girls, obviously an adolescent for his embarrassment, but mature enough not to freak the fuck out. In the very beginning of the series, Freud also harrasses Shiro for constantly talking about his father, Dr. Kamiya, clearly referencing a kind of Oedipus complex, an accusation that he doesn't easily let go of even after they've made up. Additionally, in one of the ministrips, he goes on about a pen that is, for some reason, strangely erotic. Yes, this is certainly a follower of the Freudian ways, and he's kind of of a pervert, but by no means does it drive his entire personality. It's just a small portion.

He also does an interesting thing of abusing his youth and involvement with a Freudian view on sex to his strategic advantage. During one of Freud's afterclass hacking sessions, Dr. Kamiya approaches and asks what Freud is up to, where he promptly opens up a browser of internet porn, and Dr. Kamiya awkwardly lets the young man be. Later, on the day before the Expo, Freud is seen perched in a high balcony of the Academy, where a pair of guards catch him. He presents several theories to the guards, which alarm them, and Freud then proceeds to blame his strange behaviour on teenage horomones raging through him, successfully getting out of trouble entirely.

One could also reference that perhaps Clone Freud even looks back on his original and revises and improves upon the original's works and behaviour – as is what clones were designed for. Take for example, Sigmund Freud was notorious for publishing a slew of theories, then coming back later and saying "you know maybe I wasn’t right…" something which earned him a great deal of flack. By contract, Clone Freud seems to keep his thoughts and theories to himself until he has, more or less, finalized them. While he's a believer in his original's works, that doesn't mean Freud adheres to the life and ideas of his original.

It’s not just psychology that gets him through the day, however, as Freud is naturally intelligent. Was his original a hacker? No. But Clone Freud sure as hell is!!! We see early on that Freud often hacks the main computers at the academy and listens in on conversations between the organizers and the sponsors. Freud is clearly someone who pursues knowledge actively, and uses the information that he gathers to help develop theories about the world around him. His observations lead him to distrust Dr. Kamiya's work (thus sparking a quarrel between Freud and Shiro), and to read into Kai's lengthy back story of why there are so many clones of Kai.

For as aloof as Freud can be, however, Freud is inevitably still a teenager and a person. He's got his mind half way in the gutter (for reasons that aren't wholly Freudian), he likes to tease and make jokes, and he loves his friends dearly. After being thrown into the locker room, Freud pokes fun at Shiro for having peeked through the cracks of his fingers at the bodacious babes. He squabbles over petty things, like bickering with Shiro about Shiro not being a clone like the rest of them. He even defends Shiro and Clone Marie Currie when Clone Mozart with this deft strike at Mozart's ego, not for his own purpose, but because the two of them were his friends and he cares about them. At their parting, Freud even laughs as Shiro expressin maturity that Freud had never recognized in his friend, expressing heartfelt sadness that Shiro was gratuating and, likely, gone from his life.

The curse of being an intellect, Freud is one to frequently cast doubt on things, true or untrue. He casts doubt on Dr Kamiya for his suspicious exchanges with the sponsors of their academy. He doubts Kai and Kai's story because of Kai's shifty history and the fact that he, who has many clones like him, is an enemy of the school. Most of his doubt is based on the knowledge he has at his disposal, so clearly Freud is not someone who willy nilly accepts things as truth if he hears them. One great example of this doubt, however, is denying something that could be true on the basis that the person involved is his friend. When Rockswell attempts to thrust the idea upon Shiro that Shiro might be a clone, Freud readily dismisses it, saying they had no proof but Rockswell's less than reliable word. Even Clone Mozart notes "It's not like you to play dumb."

Freud seems to not feel strongly toward non-Clones in that he believes them to think lowly of clones and holds that against them. Take for example the fight Shiro and Freud have in the start of the series where Freud claims that Shiro has no idea what life is like for 'us clones', and also his doubt against Dr. Kamiya. He even calls out a reporter later later in the series for his misunderstanding about the lives of clones. For clones, however, he seems to care a lot. When the Striker clones, a terrorist group run by Kai, attack the academy, Freud steps forward and pleads that the security guards pay more attention to saving the clones, because the Striker clones are there only to kill the clones, and not the patronts of the academy. He's quite adamant about it also, showing emotional intensity not normally attributed to his character.

Abilities/Powers: None! He’s just your average high school clone of a psychologist. (As if that’s an average thing…)
Items/Weapons: Pool stick, street clothes, a bag of Florence's cookies.

Sample Entry: http://havenmemes.dreamwidth.org/26983.html?thread=13817959#cmt13817959
Sample Entry Two:
As one client leaves, Freud bids them his usual farewell, closing the door behind them, and now to wait for another. Every since his arrival in Haven, this is how it's been. He made the offer for mostly free therapy sessions, offering his free bunk to rest in as he sat in a chair. Mostly free in that he asked that people try to bring at least one thing to him, a can of food or some clothes, as payment. He did it for two reasons, to observe, and to help. The first of these was an attempt to gather data for himself, perhaps to come to some sort of conclusion and discover what exactly the Yao Corp was trying to study. Even a mad scientist had to have some sort of method. And thought studying their specimens, Freud hoped to peer into the minds of their captors.

The other reason, to help, came because he didn't know what else he could do. The moral of this place was painful just to look at. Nearly everyone he spoke with had hollow cheeks and sullen eyes. Their stories were horror stories. He wasn't a life councilor, and he'd never heard half of these stories, but at least he knew that talking about ones problems could help some find a little peace of mind. Confidentiality helped, also. Eventually, Freud knew, he would have to find a more productive way to spend his time here, but in the mean time he didn't mind doing this little part for his fellow captives.

The client was taking his time… Freud decides to take a break in the mean time, stepping back out to attempt to cook something.

[personal profile] breastfriend 2014-07-18 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: Basically, Nagisa is a firecracker that never dies out. Which is pretty much the worst part. He's always got boundless amounts of energy, and is often dragging his friends into doing activities with him, such as starting up a swim team in high school. You can bet if he becomes interested in something or someone, he'll devote all his energy to that person or thing in a heartbeat, such as when he met Rei, he instantly became interested in him and always tried to talk to him. He's always got a smile on, and easily has the most optimistic personality of the whole team. Even when someone is down, Nagisa keeps an upbeat attitude and does his best to perk them up. It's easily his most important trait, because if he's happy, it helps keep the rest of the team upbeat and positive, too. After Haru lost to Rin in the prefectural tournament, Nagisa did everything he could to make sure the two wouldn't meet at the squid festival and spoil their mood.

Nagisa is actually the type to throw caution to the wind, and not consider consequences of his actions very well. Breaking into the Iwatobi Swimming Club, and Samezuka's pool are prime examples of him focusing more on the fun aspect of things instead of downsides that could happen. He also has a lack of a brain to mouth filter, often speaking without thinking, such as when he thinks they should have their homeroom teacher dress up in a swimsuit to get more members. Nagisa pretty much has no shame at all, he's perfectly comfortable in most situations, going so far as to skinny dip in Samezuka's pool after breaking in. This sticks with him to the next season, proudly showing off his muscles in front of the entire school, even having fun with it whereas most people would be a little embarrassed by it.

He's also extremely pushy, which can be a good and bad thing. The more positive side of it is that his determination is what led to the four of them (Rin, Makoto, Haru, and Nagisa) being such good friends as children because he was so adamant about being friends. Later on in high school, it's because of his enthusiasm that ultimately leads to Makoto, Haru, and Nagisa forming a swim team. It's that same determination that wanted to help Rin become friends with everyone again, and get him back to his old self. He constantly puts in all of his effort during training. The downside is he can often come off as very stubborn, or even pushy. He often doesn't care about what other people might say as a protest, even dragging them along into whatever he's doing. he practically coerced Rei into joining the swim team, even when he vehemently opposed to it, but Nagisa quit? Nope. He did everything he could to get him to join.

If there's one thing Nagisa prioritizes above all else, it's the bonds he has with his friends. If there's something he can do to help his friends, he'll divert all of his energy to doing it. No questions asked. He helped search for Haru for hours to tell him they could still swim in the tournament, and even went to his house to find him. Nagisa is completely dedicated to his friends, and latches onto them like a barnacle when he finds people he can be good friends with. He was persistent to be friends with Makoto and Haru as children, and even persisted in hanging out with them in high school. What makes nagisa happiest is his friends being truly happy, and giving their all in things they love. For a majority of the season, Rin was cold and uncaring toward Nagisa. But he persisted in being friends, and it's why he was all for letting Rin swim with them in the relay, even if it got them disqualified. Rin is a dear friend to him, and seeing him happy after all the challenges he faced that year.

If Nagisa thinks there's even the slightest thing wrong with a friend, he won't stop until he either knows what's wrong and fixes it, or finds a way to cheer them up. Rei had been disappearing often after practice, and Nagisa was extremely worried he was leaving the swim team. They held a meeting at Haru's house, and Nagisa made a long speech of how much Rei meant to the team and he didn't want to lose a friend. He even went so far as to start tailing him. But nothing in the world makes him happier than seeing his friends try their very hardest at something, which is why is meant so much to him to see Rei getting special training from Rin after school. It filled him with immense joy to see a good friend of his trying so hard to impress them, show how much he'd grown, and continue swimming with them.

Nagisa does actually have a rather childish side, especially when he becomes unhappy. He'll pout and even go so far as to bump his head against them and rub his head on people when they're being lame fart faces. Such as when Rei rejected Nagisa's suggestion to swim the breaststroke in the relay for that year. There have only been a few times in the series when Nagisa was actually sad as opposed to pouting, but even that didn't last for long as he was more concerned about his friend's well being. When Nagisa learned from Ai that Rin had been losing his swimming mojo, he was concerned Rin would quit swimming, and losing a friend who shared an activity they all adored so much really brought him down. Rather than spending his time being sad, he redirects as concern for his friends, and does what he can to help them feel better. When Rei was freaking out about Makoto almost drowning because of him, nagisa calmed him down and told him they would be okay.
Abilities/Powers: Nagisa fairs pretty average as people go, but his most noticeable skill is his how good he is at the breast stroke. Well, that, and his knack for finding trouble.
Items/Weapons: A change of clothes, his duffel bag containing his swim gear, and his giant penguin plush.
Sample Entry: thread
Sample Entry Two: There had been a lot of things on his mind since arriving at Haven, but the one Nagisa was most focused on? Getting a decent smile on Makoto and Haru's faces. It pained him to see two of his dearest friends being so devoid of who he knew them as. It was as though this place sucked all the joy out of them, and the thought of that crushed Nagisa's heart. Even worse was there was no easily accessible pool here to even let them swim or relax in. Truth be told, it was something they all needed right now.

But Nagisa doesn't stand down in the face of odds stacked against him. So they didn't have a pool, there was bound to be something around here to help cheer the two of them up. Maybe he could search around for some flowers to brighten their mood, or they could find something to paint with and make posters, just for the fun of it. Haru and Makoto needed something bright in their lives right now, and Nagisa had a feeling his oh so adorable personality wasn't quite going to cut it.

"Hm... maybe I'll let them hug Guin-chan. She gives really therapeutic hugs, so it might help." He's finding out just how limited his options are, but he's Nagisa. He always finds a way to make do.

Personality:

As the only non-clone of St. Kleio Academy, Shiro has been describe by one of his friend as the odd man out. This is undeniable, considering he's surrounded by famous historical clones who have been given life for the purpose of surpassing their originals, and allowing humans to live more comfortably through their promising achievements. Despite having a close group of friends, he often finds clones to be confusing and hard to understand, even if it does not stop him from trying to understand them. There is one thing that he is sure of: "it's hard being a clone". They're the ones that have to work harder than him, although oddly enough Hitler, who has called him the odd man out, is also the one who has him realize that he is no different from them, burdening pressures because of who they are and who they came from. It's more like he's easily swayed... however....

Due to this Shiro could be considered more childish in comparison to his companions. His friends have mentioned he tends to be influenced easily by others, true when we see how excited he becomes by the Almighty Dolly. While it is only a fad, one that Shiro doesn't even have any reason to join in on as a non-clone, it doesn't take long for him to become fascinated by this lucky charm, excitably declaring that he would make one for everyone. No, seriously. He's 100% into this idea because his friend (surprise! Hitler, again.) said it saved Mozart after he tried to hang himself. Even so, another reason for this can also because that Shiro has family. He's only a teenager after all and his classmates are clones without a family so they more or less have to rely on themselves. Unlike them Shiro has his father to talk to in his times of need. Really, it might be more fair to say that clones have to grow up too fast. Shiro is a boy who is in the process of finding himself and unlike the clones he has no idea who it is or who he is meant to be. This becomes literal when he finds out that he's also a clone after all, one that isn't famous like the others (at this point he could only wonder who he is). Nevertheless, this father-son bond did not break because this revelation and he is quite attached to his father (something Freud so graciously pointed out).

Optimistic and caring, Shiro is the type that tries his best to look on the bright side of things. He wants his friends to be happy, and he would do what is in his power to fulfill their wish. In this case it would be Marie Curie, a young woman that he is also in love with. Because Marie wanted to pursue music he talks to his dad so that she can live her dream instead of living in a box that the teachers have set for her. Her leave may have been sudden and alarming to the others but his trust in his dad as well as his optimistic nature is what pushes him away from any doubts he has in his mind. However, if we're being honest this worry of his friends does rub off on him a little. He's never really been the most confident type of person but nevertheless he's a boy that will try to remain positive until the end.

Of course this doesn't always go smoothly. On the other hand, Shiro can come off as overly defensive about his thoughts and actions. If provoked far enough he can become quite hotheaded, although he's never actually punched anyone in the face before so there's that. We are talking slamming guys into walls or grabbing their shirts in angry though, but those are due to pretty intense circumstances (e.g. being accused of killing a Joan-killer because the guy who killed her looked just liked him. Spoilers: He's a previous generation clone). On a less extreme example when his friends were worried about Marie, he defended against it, truly worked up because did not seem to trust that she was fine. It was his actions that lead to her departure after all and it resulted in quite an argument. But that is not all he will defend! He will always defend his friends honor if they are insulted or threatened. It's actually pretty easy to provoke and win an argument over Shiro since most of the time he's just a kid who's pretty sensitive and easily flustered. Nevertheless, he would be willing to push himself in order to defend his friends.

An important ribbon to wrap up Shiro's traits is that overall he's a compassionate person who just wants the best for everyone he cares about. This circle includes people that he does not get along with because the last thing he wants is for anyone to get hurt. Once Joan had asked "How could a non-clone understand our suffering?" and Shiro is honestly always trying. Even though the fad around the Almighty Dolly was even cult like, he did not push it away but felt strongly for his friends who were in it. He became angry when his other friends did not taking it seriously, cracking jokes about the cult meeting, retorting "They've got it all wrong. It's stressful being a clone" (to his clone friends btw). And you know what? His worry only confused his friends since he's not a clone. He shouldn't have to worry. Although he admits to being the odd man out, Shiro doesn't like it at all and just want to fit in. Others have called his behavior egoism and pity, but Shiro has never looked down on his friends and is someone who sees his friends as individuals regardless of how many "versions" of them there might be. He genuinely cares for all of them.

By the time Shiro leaves the academy he's finally given the responsibility and the truth of his origins. As the clone of the Founder of St. Kleio Academy, Shiro is quick to take the first step necessary toward this responsibility for the sake of his friends even if it's all really sudden. The people who he cares about is what makes him who he is, and he's willing to once again become even stronger to protect them. Make no mistake, he's still a small child, and he has a long journey ahead of him but he will do what it takes for the better of the school and the students in it.

Abilities/Powers: n/a!!!!!
Items/Weapons: A pool cue, fencing épée, and a set of clothes he packed in his suitcase.
Sample Entry: link.
Sample Entry Two:

It started out like most of his dreams with Marie did, with her smiling at him even in his confused state because no matter how much time may have passed he's never stopped worrying about her. Even though he's so sure that Marie Curie is dead, she still appeared in his dreams alive and well. Maybe it was the guilt that kept him from forgetting or maybe it's that the small glimmer of hope that she's safe still harbored deep in his heart keeping his dreams going away even in a place like Haven. No, it very well could be both but no matter what, Shiro is one that would never forget about a friend.

Marie?

Why are you here? I've been so worried.

It has been over a month since his arrive at Haven and he's quickly learned the harsh reality of the situation. This place is nothing like home even if he feels just as trapped here as he did at St. Kleio Academy. It took three weeks for him to stop calling out his dad for help even if it took less time for him to realize that he's alone. Old habits die hard and even if he's met new people, he missed his friends. Even so he wouldn't wish any of his friends in such a dangerous environment so the fact that Marie was here is conflicting to say the least. That's right. Marie shouldn't be here.

— "Wait!"

An arm reaching out, Shiro flings himself up from his bed only to realize that it was indeed a dream. There's another two second delay before he pulls back, clenching his open hand into a fist. He was powerless here but he won't give up yet because his friends are still waiting for him to make a difference with his role and he won't forget that either.

Character Name: Artemis Crock
Canon: Young Justice
Canon Point: Post Secrets/episode 18
Background/History: Wiki link o/

Previous Game History: N/A
Personality: Artemis comes from a family of criminals, and the tough environment she was raised in plays a huge role in who she is today. She is rather aggressive, known to have 'tough' attitude, and has no issue with putting anyone in their place if she feels they need it. When asked why she must challenge others, she simply stated "where I come from, that's how you survive". If something bothers her, she will definitely call it out. She also likes to combat issues with force instead of really thinking them through or talking about them. Artemis is also rather snarky, sassy, and sarcastic, and has no problem with speaking her mind, which actually causes her to clash with some of her teammates when she first joins the team. This is also the reason why her relationship with Kid Flash is mostly antagonistic.

Most of the time, she comes off as a young girl who is confident in who she is. However, deep down lies a girl who is insecure and ashamed of who she is, or rather, where she came from. Because of her background, Artemis is extremely secretive of her origins and can be somewhat defensive. Before she joined the team, she did solo vigilante work to prove that she is not her family, despite her father raising her to be a criminal and even telling her mother she was kidding herself if she thought Artemis could escape the “family business”. Not wanting to follow in her family's footsteps, Artemis decided to make her own way and became a hero. She refused to let her father or anyone else mold her into something she didn't want to be.

She eventually encounters her future team, and wants to join, however, because she comes from a family of criminals, she didn't think they'd accept her and thought she was kidding herself. When she's actually propositioned by Batman and Green Arrow to join the team, she asks them not to tell everyone who her family is. Since then, she has worked extremely hard to keep her secrets after joining the team and has constantly had to lie because she fears that her new found family would not accept her. Because of where she comes from, she feels she has to work even harder to prove herself so that her position with the team is secure.

Even if Artemis is aggressive in nature, she still has a softer side and is approachable. This side can be seen primarily when she's around her mother or her teammates. Despite her rather rocky start with the team, she was still able to work very well with them as time progressed, and is always willing to help them when they need her. She has grown to care for them as if they were her second family.

Abilities/Powers: Artemis, at the end of the day, is a normal human, unlike the majority of her teammates. She has no special powers, and has the same weaknesses as any human would. Even so, that does not mean she's incapable of defending herself and taking on the bad guys. Thanks to training with her father, as well as her current mentor, Green Arrow, she's extremely skilled with a bow and arrow as well as a crossbow, making her the team's markswoman. Artemis doesn't just need the bows and arrows to hold her own, though. Coupled with her marksmanship, she's also skilled in various martial arts and acrobatics.

Items/Weapons: Her bow, crossbow, and some arrows.
Sample Entry: Here. And another. And a thread.

[Upon somewhat getting adjusted to her surroundings, which mostly means learning how the communicator worked, Artemis immediately turns it on. The feed would show a masked young girl, who’s obviously confused, maybe even annoyed.]

Okay, to anyone who can hear this, if you explain what’s going on, that’d be really great. Honestly. What is this place? Is there a way out?

[A beat.]

Is the team here? Zatanna? [Of course, that would be the first name to come to mind as she was literally the last person she was with before ending up here.] Kid Flash? Robin? Anyone?

Sample Entry Two: Wow. Talk about a crazy Halloween. One minute, Artemis was with Zatanna, fighting some nut job who blew up her bike when she was supposed to be enjoying a night out on the town. Then the next? Artemis found herself waking up in a strange place, running a hand over her forehead and trying to figure out how she got here. Did Harm have anything to do with this? Did one of Zatanna's spells go wrong and teleport her here somehow? Most importantly, will she be able to get out of here?

She explored her surroundings, hoping to find some answers, but she's already sure she won't have too much luck from the looks of this place. Everything looked so rundown and deserted; she'd be lucky if she found any of her teammates...or just anyone for that matter. After some seemingly aimless wandering, she let out a deep sigh and stopped in her tracks.

"This is some Halloween, huh?"

Sieglinde Sullivan | Kuroshitsuji | Unreserved

[personal profile] grunehexe 2014-07-18 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality: Though Sieglinde makes a somewhat mysterious and stoic entrance in to the series, presenting herself as the mature and elusive Green Witch, Master of the Green Manor, of Wolfsschlucht Village, the fact is that she is a eleven year old girl who has been raised in a strange combination of freedom and captivity.

Because she's grown up in a position of power, the successor to the Green Witch who originally founded the village and protected its inhabitants, Sieglinde has wanted for nothing that the village could provide her. She lives in a sprawling manor, eats sumptuous meals, has servants that attend to her home and needs, and a manservant, Wolfram, who is with her almost constantly, carrying her place to place. She was spoiled by her upbringing in some ways while it restricted her in others.

When it comes to manners she is quite rude unintentionally simply because none of those who attend her ever told her not to do things or correct her behavior. She stares at people overly long, eats with her hands with most unladylike gusto because no one ever insisted she use silverware, and often asks things and demands attention from people around her without imagining that someone might refuse or not be happy to give it. However, none of this is malicious or intentionally bratty- she really just doesn't know better for the most part. When corrected she may protest at first, but with proper motivation or coaxing is more than happy to change or learn new ways.

And Sieglinde learns fast, startling everyone with how quickly she manages to pick things up. She manages to master enough of the English language to have a bedside medical conversation in less than a day. She attributes it to being a witch, (she chalks up a lot to her being a witch), but she is a sharp study, and has a lot of book learning under her belt thanks to her isolated lifestyle and lack of companions her own age.

Sheltered as she is within the small village, Sieglinde is ignorant in many ways of the world. In particular, children and men. Her village is comprised only of grown and older women, (supposedly the descendants of witches and witch allies), and the only male is her manservant, who she thinks of as more of a loyal guard dog than a man. Sieglinde has read some rather outrageous thinks about men in her books- that they are lust filled creatures who think only of ahem. She herself is quite curious about the ahem and actually offers her body to her visitors when they arrive thinking that that is simply... what one does with males. She's quite hilariously deadpan about showing them how to undo her gown and flopping down on the bed. Most helpful girl.

Thankfully for our readers our 13 year old protagonist ain't having none of that, even when Sieglinde just grabs herself a handful of crotch to check if he's really a boy or not. Thankfully she's just as easily entertained with the sort of childish activities she's grown up without, such as drawing and sleepovers and midnight snacks. She does have a bit of a perverted streak though, and it comes out at inopportune moments due to language barriers and word choice misunderstandings.

Sieglinde is above all curious, and her desire to learn has long outgrown the small, cloistered village she lives in. She longs to see the "outside world", a place she has only read about. Her village seems to have stopped time in the 14th century, and when shown and told about devices, medicines, styles of clothing, and progress from the world of the rest of the characters, (the Victorian Era), she devours everything she can find out. She isn't content with what little she can glean, either, and a little taste of what she has never seen for herself reminds her how desperate she is to see the outside world.

Her desire to be free of the small world in which she lives is at war with the duties she feels towards her village. As the only one who can cast the spells to keep the werewolves at bay, who can complete the ultimate magic, she knows that she's needed in Wolfsschlucht. But at the same time she wishes she could see the outside world if only for a moment, even if she has to inevitably return to the life she's always led.

Despite being so upset about it that she cries and pleads to be allowed to go, she eventually crumbles to her manservant's insistence that she has to stay in the village, promising that she'll remain and complete her duties as the Green Witch even though they seem to bring her little pleasure. Sieglinde's expression almost always drops and she falls sullen and silent when she's reminded of her responsibilities and that she'll need to part with the only visitors they've ever had, but that is her only protest, even though its hinted that they may have dire consequences for her.

Sieglinde has many reasons to resent her situation- her feet are bound and she cannot walk thanks to her ancestors' traditions, she is not allowed to leave the village despite wanting to, and she is the sole presence, young as she is, standing between her villagers and werewolves. Even so, she accepts her role and the responsibilities that come with it, if not somewhat regretfully, because her loyalty to her village and her acceptance of the burdens placed on her role is stronger than her personal desires. Even though she is still a child, and may act out on occasion, she ends up putting others before her self and trying her best to be what people need her to be- the wise, mature, and powerful Green Witch.

Abilities/Powers: Sieglinde is the successor of the title of Green Witch, and the original witch's blood flows through her veins. Despite the powerful blood having apparently thinned over generations, Sieglinde still claims to be capable of performing magic*. Her specialty seems to lie in barrier construction and healing. In the series she is shown to utilize Theban seals to maintain barriers around her village that keep out werewolves, and to utilize spells combined with herbs to heal curses and physical injuries. She doesn't appear to be able to conjure magic from thin air, always channeling it through some median such as a wand, seals, herbs, and spoken spells. In addition, she hasn't been shown to have any spells/capacity to use offensive spells.

As for her physical abilities, Sieglinde is a child, and her feet have been bound. She has been carried around most of her life and has had servants to attend to her needs, so she's never had to do any manual labor and is likely very weak. Her feet cannot easily support her weight and it's painful for her to walk, making it impossible for her to do more than very short distances by herself unless utilizing a device she keeps in her manor that uses "witch balloons" to support her weight.

* It's recently come out in canon that some of the "magic" involved may have chemicals/scientific explanations. However, Sieglinde sincerely believes it to be magic and will present it as such- and some things shown in her arc are drawn as magical in nature. Just in case, however, I'll avoid having her use any potential magical powers until canon explicitly confirms it.

Sample Entry:

[Sieglinde has found a perch on a low, crumbling wall, and carefully sits her device as faaaaar away from her as she can stretch to put it, brushing off her lap nervously. Impossibly tiny feet dangle freely a foot abouve the ground, and she clears her throat.

Serious.]

I am in need of several ingredients for my work. I've heard tell of a marvelous garden in these parts, so perhaps you can find them there. I had written a list, but.

[Well. This place has something against lists. She opts for closing her eyes and reciting instead.]

Psyllium, frankincense, ginger, willow bark, hawthorn, butcher's broom, witch hazel, wormwood, nettle, and rosin rose will do to start. If you need help, I can describe what they look like for you so that you may search for them properly.

[She nods, quite satisfied with herself, reaching for the device- only to knock it off the wall with the tips of her fingers.

Oops.]

Sample Entry Two:

The Theban alphabet was as familiar to her as the German tongue she'd been raised on. It haunted the corners of her vision when she tiptoed alone through the manor at night, taking wincing little steps that even her hexe ballons couldn't fully spare her from. Unfinished portions of a spell, the spell, taunting her, always lurking behind Wolfram's stern gaze, behind the adoring eyes of the village women looking to her to save them, blazing in the crone's glare as she pointed her withered finger and accused her of sheltering the visitors from the outside world over her own.

In the dark, Sieglinde's small hands tightened in to fists, struggled briefly with the sensations that had grown familiar to her in the past days. Lonliness. Selfishness. Longing. The desire she'd suppressed over the years to go beyond her village, beyond the cursed wood, and out in to the world beyond- the desire that had been rekindled immediately, fanned in to a hearty flame, by the arrival of Ciel Phantomhive, his butler, and household.

She'd held on- even if she knew in some small part of her, that it was foolish. She was the Green Witch, and her place was here. Wolfram had reminded her. She had duties here, and responsibilities... and they would leave on the morrow. The only person she'd ever met close to her own age, the only men she'd ever really seen, and they'd be gone once the sun rose. Gone, and she'd remain.

Looked up, and saw her own reflection looking back. Not a reflection, really, but her own face. It was the large portrait in the hall, staring down at her with dark, serious eyes. The eyes of the Green Witch, whose blood flowed through her veins. Whose blood was weak enough now that the werewolves were growing restless, were able to strain the boundaries of their original contract. Even though she'd done everything asked of her, given up her legs just like her ancestor had-

Looked down, and saw the proof of that sacrifice, in the tiny bound feet in tiny little heels, bandaged tightly, tighter than a year before, and much tighter than the year before that, and so on until the days she couldn't remember. What did it feel like to really walk? Sieglinde didn't know. But she made her way, slowly, carefully, down the hall past the guest halls. She wanted to stop, to linger, and listen- but she'd offer them privacy. Ciel was wounded still, and Sebastian tending him no doubt. He was Ciel's butler first and foremost after all, she had only borrowed him.

At first it had been for curiosity's sake, a bit of fun- after all he was devilishly handsome, and clever, and competent. Wolfram could learn a lot from him, and so could she. She had. About the way they dined in the outside world, their medicines, their technology, and their language of English. But he'd be gone soon, too.

Only once she passed the guest rooms, the servant's quarters, did she light the candle she carried with her, illuminating her path. One small step, another, until she reached the balcony she sought, ever so quietly opening the latch and stepping outside. The breeze tossed her balloons, but she tottered the last inches to the railing, resting her weight against it as she gazed out over the village, the forest that surrounded it. In the blanket of darkness only a few lights remained lit in the women's homes, tiny beacons that beckoned her to stay, that reminded her of her duties while the pitch ink black of the Wolf Forest beckoned her to come, to trespass through it, emerge on the other side in to an entirely different world.

Her bottom lip trembled, and she bit in to it. She was the Green Witch. She was the Master of the Green Manor, the leader of the village, the only one who could complete the ultimate magic. She'd promised Wolfram.

But for just one more night, just one more, she told herself- Sieglinde gazed out at the night and wished to be somewhere else.

And deep in the forest, a wolf began to howl.

Re: Oda Nobunaga | Nobunaga the Fool | Not reserved

[personal profile] outsuke 2014-07-18 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Oda Nobunaga; he's a young lord who does everything at his own pace. In Owari, where he was born and raised, he was known as the Fool of Owari, and he sure knows to live up to the name. He doesn't attend ceremonies or meetings that he considers as boring, or that he doesn't think will be any entertaining. In those cases, he sends Mitsuhide to attend the meetings instead. Sometimes, he might sneak in anyway, though. He dress up in weird, unconventional outfits, and he says things that should be better left unsaid. He's brash, and can be incredibly rude. Sometimes, the insulting nicknames that he can give people are out of affection, though. One example is Hideyoshi, who acts like a monkey, and because of that, Nobunaga calls him “Saru” which means monkey. He's impulsive, and doesn't always think through his decisions. Instead, he rushes head-first into it, and often gets into trouble because of this. Because of this personality of his, most people think that he is not fit to be the heir of the Oda clan. They don't think thathe has the qualities of a leader. Both his father, and the court serving the Oda, think that his younger brother would be a much better choice for the next leader of the clan. Nobunaga doesn't disagree, because he knows his brother is a capable person. But at the since time, he doesn't agree, either. Because he is very self confident, our Nobunaga, and he believes that he would be a much better lord than most others think that he would be.

He is very direct, and for one, he went right to Shingen to ask if it was him who sent assassins after himself and his brother. He believes his words when he says that it was not him, because he can see Shingen's face saying that he can defeat Oda without petty things like that. He's also insensitive, and can't read the atmosphere very well. When he sleeps and is awoken by someone, he sometimes even attack them, even if they're not an enemy. This is mostly after he has had an unpleasant dream, and he has been told that he'll lose friends if he keeps doing it. Not that he cares about how many friends he has. He is of the opinion that he only needs Mitsuhide and Hideyoshi as friends.

After stepping foot on the battle field for the first time, not as a participant, but as an onlooker, he realized just how cruel war is. It made him both laugh and cry, though he couldn't understand why. He knows that in this era of war, only those with great resolve will live to see tomorrow, and he intends to do that. He also intends to cause more battles. Because he thinks that, to end all wars once and for all, the world needs to be united. He wants to bring change. If the war changes, the era will change. He will go right into it, and will not run away from it. He swore on it as a samurai, and the word of a samurai cannot be invoked. But with the question of if they are unleashing something that shouldn't be let out, the question if they are bringing Hell to the country, Nobunaga decides that he will conquer it all, and become the Demon Lord.

Because his foolish side is hiding that he actually is much more clever than people think. This is not only strategy, of course, he really is a great fool, there's no denying that. He's a hot-head and an idiot. But at the same time, he is very smart. He just doesn't show it all the time. He prefers doing things his way and people tend to not take him seriously, because he uses such unconventional methods. He often thinks up strategies that normally, people with his upbringing would not think up, and he's not afraid of trying new things. But being serious is a way to convince people of his thoughts, and he's good with words. This often surprise those who only sees his foolish side, but he doesn't let that deter him. He is capable of great motivational speeches, and, for example, when the news of an alliance between Oda's enemies, Takeda and Uesugi, reach Owari, people panic, but when they ready to leave, Nobunaga gives a speech that causes everyone to regain their hope and faith.

He likes battles, and soon it turns into them having a duel. He loves a thrill and if the opportunity to fight comes, he will not turn it down. That is, unless he feels that he will lose. Sure he might be called a coward, but if he throws himself into a fight that he has no chance of winning, he will not be able to reach any of his goals.

Because Oda Nobunaga is a stubborn man, filled to the brim with determination. He has survived several assassination attempts in the past, even if he might not know about all of them. After all, he's not trusted by his father's retainers, who want to usurp him and make his younger brother the next leader of the Oda. He even says that he welcomes the attempts, because it would be interesting if there was someone that bold in the castle. But his self confidence can stay strong partly becausehe doesn't care about what people think of him, and even considers himself a fool, at times. The mech that he gets his hands on, he even names The Fool. A fool should be handling a fool, after all. And he likes how it sounds, the English word for a big idiot. He loves making a spectacle, and to cause commotions. This is one of the reasons why he does so many things considered odd and peculiar.

Despite his repeated arguments with his father, he actually respects the man much more than he'd ever tell him. Perhaps because he's not sure he will be taken seriously, because he doesn't follow his father's wishes or orders. But he does love and respect the elder Oda, and when his father dies in battle, Nobunaga swears to avenge him. He's also a loving big brother, to two younger siblings. He has a younger brother, Nobukatsu, and a younger sister, Ichi. He is very fond of both of them, even if it might sometimes seem like he isn't. Ditching out on your brother's coming-of-age ceremony is not a thing a good brother is supposed to do, after all. When his younger brother dies the same day as his father, he is incredibly upset. He cared and loved his brother, even though he teased him often. Teasing people, and messing with them, is a way for him to show affection.

When he finds something new that interests him, he has a tendency to become obsessed with it. He loves seeing new things, and loves to explore. When he gets obsessed, he forgets about everything else. When they were young, he often tended to forget his little sister, Ichi, in the mountains. He didn't often realize that she had been left behind until long after. But he doesn't let his interests get in the way completely, though. He always went to find Ichi again when he lost her, and she always waited for him. There is a strong bond between the siblings.
His way of coping with hard situations, such as the death of his father and murder of brother, is in various ways. One way is fury. He doesn't care who it is; if someone hurts those that he cares about, he will never forgive them and will definitely cut them down. Another is sadness. He doesn't like showing his sadness openly, but he's not afraid of doing so. He tends to seclude himself after something happens, leaving the castle, when he needs time to think and overcome the hard things. Staying under a waterfall is a good place to think, for example. He is even late to his own father's funeral because he has, and appears in improper clothes for it. He even throws his father's ashes to the floor, and intends to leave without a word. It's his fury at the enemy, his sadness over losing his father, but at the same time, anger over him leaving the world before it was time for him to go. None of his sons are ready to take over after their father; Nobukatsu being too gentle, and Nobunaga being misunderstood by everyone. But grief is hard, so hard that it can make him scream inhumanly in sadness and rage, because he doesn't know what to do with all the feelings.

He thinks they died and that his fiancee, Himiko, was hurt because of him. Because he's so useless. He says that he really is the fool everyone calls him. No, he's an even bigger fool than they say. He hates himself for being so pathetic, for being unable to protect what he cares about. Sometimes he hates himself all over for it, and it makes him mad at himself.

Abilities/Powers: Skilled in hand-to-hand combat, as well as sword play and archery. e's also good with animals. He knows how to control a mecha (called Battler Armor).
Items/Weapons: Katana, regalia (that only works if he has his mecha), and the watch he gave to Nobukatsu.

Sample Entry:

[ He didn't know how to react to appearing in a strange place, not with the situation as it is. He's the fool, everyone always call him the fool, but his brother is an even bigger fool than he is. He doesn't show it, he refuse to let it show, not because of his pride, but because he doesn't want to share his feelings with others. It's too soon. He needs to figure this out himself, the damn idiot that he is.

So instead, his voice is unwavering, self confident, and certain. Also noticeably young. ]

I know little of this place, but I am curious.

[ It's not a lie. Still... ]

If anyone cares to tell me anything, I'd be grateful.

Most of all, I'm looking for a few people, but I'm not sure if they are here or not. First of all, my sister, Ichi. I'm also trying to find Akechi Mitsuhide, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Mori Ranmaru. I would be even more grateful if anyone could tell me where to find them, if they are present, or if you could tell them that Oda Nobunaga is looking for them.

[ And that's it, for now. He needs to figure out things, but he does hope that any of his comrades are here. ]

Re: Sora | Kingdom Hearts | Expired Reserve

[personal profile] fervents 2014-07-18 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Sora could easily fall into the category of a typical hero figure; brave and willing to risk his life for the people he most cares for. He is kind, and with a gentle heart extends his help to whoever may need it- even the most questionable people. His loyalty to his friends and those around him goes beyond the normal standards to were he stands beside them at all times. Never showing hint of wavering his protection. His friends are the most important thing to him, and nothing in the whole world- well, worlds could change that.

Besides being the great Keyblade wielder that he is, Sora still in many ways is just a teenage kid. Before his great adventure, he spent the days relaxing and pretty much being a ‘bum’ as his friend Kairi explained. He enjoys lying around and goofing off, and in many ways carries that same childish aspect into his travels. Often Sora is seen having small fits with Donald, his magic user and companion, about simple or insignificant details. Those childish and near simple-minded ways also in some cases almost get him into trouble, too. In the instance when arriving in the Land of Dragons, Sora instantly suspects that Mulan is being attacked by a monster, and rushing in to beat it despite realizing it was actually a friend from his previous travels. To which he he was later scolded about the fact.

Sora is quick to make up his mind without fully understanding the details of a certain situation. Many times, if someone where to be in danger, he would rush into the fight without really knowing who the person was, or why they were in trouble to begin with. Once he sets his mind to a certain task, there is little anyone can do to stop him. He is usually gunho about his circumstances, and uses his energetic personality to lead his party members into the fists of battle. He tends to use his head instead of his brains, without considering the results at times. Still, those childish ways do still have their ups.

As a teenage boy, Sora has a wide range of emotions. Often being carried from one situation to another. If the event calls for it, he can be serious and hard to the bone. Other times he is as sweet and bubbly as they come. He is very impulsive and lets his emotions do most of the the talking when things get down to it. Mostly relying on his gut feeling or instinct. Though if threatened or offended, this Keyblade wielder tends to drift on becoming fairly easy to anger. Be it his childish tendencies or coming up against an enemy, Sora will waste no time to get rid of an object of obstacle and move ahead. When it comes to facing the Organization time and time again, Sora is constantly on edge and even takes the time to insult some of the members. Even calling Demyx a 'broken record'. He tends to be more straight forward and 'get to the point' when faced with people who try to oppose him and his goals. Usually if they have differences or if someone places themselves off as an enemy, Sora is hard towards that person. Sometimes rushing in for a defeat despite hearing how the whole conversation.

Also something you need to know about this little guy- he is most of the time Mr. Happy-go-Lucky. He is known to be positive and uplifting, always encouraging with a smile on his face. If one of his friends, of even a complete stranger, were to be down in the dumps, Sora doesn't wait for them to wallow in their self pity. Rather, to shower them with positive influences and words. He rarely thinks negative, and strives to be a person whom brings light to people's hearts. His upbeat and charming disposition may be another reason why people are so drawn to him.

This youngin' also holds a strong sense of justice. That is, he acknowledges the difficulty ahead of him, and is willing to preform his task to the best of his ability. He is fully aware of the quest set out before him, and with the attitude of success, allows himself to stride forward not only for his friends, but for the set worlds around him in which he connects himself to.

That still isn't to say he won't bump his head into places that shouldn't belong. Often times when entering a world, if a conflict should occur in front of him, this boy will be one of first on the scene. Whether it was to aid or simply being a little too curious. It takes a lot for this young boy to step away from the affairs of others, but be it that his duty is to save the worlds, he goes far beyond his quota to make sure the people around him can live peacefully.

It is through these endeavors that Sora meets all kinds of people. He is a very social butterfly, and is able to meet and interact with others almost on the dot. Whether they want to interact with this boy is usually not up to them- because he is the first to initiate any sort of conversation, and quickly attempts to befriend those around him. Sure, most do not accept the offer at first, but he tries his hardest to earn the trust and respect of others- which, in most cases, he often does. And usually, because of the aura of friendly he carries on his shoulders, they too return the partnership, resulting on someone Sora can rely on for help and strength.

Another thing about Sora's friends- they're untouchable from his heart. Sora puts his friends first and would do anything for them; even give up his own life. In the search for Kairi he willingly offers himself up to the Organization just to see her. Getting down on both hand in knee in front of his enemy just to know if she was safe. Not only was saving the worlds and finding King Mickey important, but Sora would always have a piece of his friends on his mind. Often wanting to go out of their way locate where they were at.

Riku, another one of Sora's dear friends, was the cause of most of his travels. While he did have to rid the worlds of Heartless and restore balance to the broken worlds, he was determined to find his friend whom he soon found out had been taken over by Darkness. Maybe times during his duties did he stumble upon his friend, and no matter how coldhearted the boy seemed to act towards Sora, he would never give up on him. His friends are his drive- the thing that keeps him going- and the source of his power. Without them, he would have nothing left to fight for.

Overall, Sora is a fun loving boy with a heart of gold. He is selfless and faithful to his friends and, with a carefree attitude, shines a light that is unmatched by the worlds.

Abilities/Powers:
Sora's abilities range from a wide variety of special skills and assets. The main two being magic and strength. Whether combining the strength of his friends or using his own magic he learned along the way, Sora's skill set in a rather large one.

Sora's combat relies on a weapon called the Keyblade which is exactly what it sounds like- a long, sword like weapon with the top of a what looks to be a key. Not only is this weapon used for offense, but it holds greater power when the 'key' ability is used which enables to boy to lock and unlock the different worlds he visits. While traveling from world to world, Sora obtains different Keyblades along the way which increase the strength or magic from the previous one. Sora is able to switch between these Keyblades whenever he may please, and during some events may be able to even use two at a time. These events are known as Drive Forms.

Sora has a number of these Drive Forms which vary depending on the companion he uses to aid the transformation with. Things such as Valor form, which specializes in strength and lacks in magic. His outfit turns red in this form, and two keyblades are able to be used. Speed in increased, as well as the ability to jump higher than before. In order to use this power however, his friend Goofy must lend him his strength. Wisdom form which turns his outfit blue, and although is he unable to use two keyblades in this form, Sora is fast on his feet and is able to shoot magic bullets from his blade. To use this form, much like Valor, Sora would call on the need of his friend Donald to help.

Master form is another which adorns Sora in yellow. With the help of both Donald and Goofy, this boy uses his power to master in both magic and strength. Another form that uses both of his companions is the Final, a form which clothes Sora in silver and gives him the ability of guiding. Much like his Valor and Master form, two keyblades can be used and his strength is heavily increased.

There is one more form however, one that is triggered simply by overworking the other forms or using them too many times. Randomly, Anti form actives which transforms Sora into what looks to be a Heartless. No keyblades are used in this form- only the claws Sora obtains while in this berserk-like mode is used for combat. While his speed is highly increased in this form, he is able to use magic or even heal himself in his state.

Yet aside from these skill sets, Sora also has the ability to use Magic. These can range from a variety of different things, such as fire, blizzard, and thunder being the most basic. As he develops and uses more of it, the boy is then able to increase the power of his magic to deal devastating damage. Yet aside from offensive, another basic skill of Sora's is the cure ability. This, depending on its strength, can heal a significant amount of health needed for his journey.

Lastly, Sora had the ability to Summon with his keyblade. With the aid of the charms he finds from world to world, his boy is able to transport his friends from across different worlds in order to aid him in battle.

Items/Weapons: A few high potions and his keyblade.

Sample Entry: Sample here.

Sample Entry Two:
Out of all the worlds Sora had visited, this was certainly not going to be on his top ten list. The area was barren, and unlike Halloween Town which carried its own eerie contents, this one lacked... well, light. Light in a literal sense to his actual field of vision when he finally began his trek through the subway station, but also in a sense where he felt completely hopeless. The light in this world had nearly been dried up completely, and the more Sora stayed here, the more he began to realize how "dark" this place truly was.

He wasn't going to give up hope on finding a way home, though. However dark the situation may be, there was always a small light at the end. Sora had learned this simply through his long journeys to restore the worlds, as well as help from his friends. But right now, standing in the middle of a dark corridor, the boy was all alone.

It was the thoughts his friends that caused his feet to push forward into the darkness. With one hand pressed deeply to his heart, and the other on his blade, Sora allowed himself to take in a breath before continuing. Surely this place, one he had yet to visit, could be a key in finding a way home... perhaps.

It was the voices behind him that caught his attention first. Causing his head to whip about, and clenching hold of his Keyblade so tight he could almost feel the red of his knuckles become white. But nothing- nothing was ever there.

"Argh! If you're gunna follow me, just come out already!" His voice huffed with an air of annoyance, flailing his Keyblade about in different directions. This brunette couldn't exactly tell where the voices where coming from, or in which direction he felt as though someone was watching him. But he was sure of it- someone had to be here! "Stop messing around!"

It was with his sentence that a new noise had reached his ears- a terrifying screech, one belonging to a monster, no doubt. It seems as though they had taken Sora's words to heart as the sound of flapping wings came closer to him.

With that the boy dropped into a fighting stance- bending his knees as both hands curled against the handle of the Keyblade. He pushed himself forward then, feet pressing hard against the ground to jolt himself forward to gain speed. His Keyblade flew forward into one quick motion, making contact with something on the other side. "It's over!"

For his sake, his friends, and everyone he had come to meet in this place, Sora was going to take on every foe for their sake- he would find a way out of here!

Character Background

Personality:

"You're hiding" Mark Lynch tells Owen in the midst of discovery; that he is inside of an underground Weevil fight club. The atmosphere is oppressive, only lost hope and despair can be found here. And yet he does not react. He does not utter another word. The feeling of despair resonates deep down in that hunk of grey matter of his. All of those emotions pent up inside his eyes. He knows. Not a word is uttered afterwords. This is [Doctor] Owen Harper in a nutshell: A person who is constantly in hiding. Emotions constantly on the run from everyone else. No one should know and why should they?

Right of the bat we are introduced to Owen as the cheeky one of the Torchwood III bunch. The medical officer who dons a number of funky buttons on his lab coat and has absolutely no control over his tongue. Being with Torchwood, an organization whose identity i is left in the dark from the rest of the public, Owen has learned to accept that his job is his life. Once you're in, you're in. No turning back. Any ties you have with the outside world will become severed. Fortunately (and unfortunately), that severance with the world is the reason Owen took the position in the first place. In this case, it is the loss of the one person who he truly loved.

He is your textbook case of a womanizer. While it does not encompass who Owen is entirely, love and his relationship with love covers a majority of his character narrative. Owen keeps it real; he loves sex. If he had to make a top 5 list of favorite things he enjoys most in life it would be 5.) Farting (still in contest with burping) 4.) Drinking 3.) Eating 2.) Sleeping 1.) Shagging. There is nothing better than having a go on an indiscriminate night. The feeling is indescribable unlike any other. But at some point, the whole shtick becomes more of an escapist act. A means to get away from the harsh truths of his reality. Before he even engages in an affair with Gwen Cooper, most of the women who he has slept with were merely a one-night fling. Nothing too intimate.

Love is such a precarious concept. His flirtatious nature, as mentioned before, is not for the sake of finding love more so than to feel it for the moment. For this you would have to trace it back to his childhood. First, his father was practically out of the picture. Secondly his mother has openly admitted that while she can love him it does not mean that she is obligated to like him. Already we can see this to be a precursor of things to come in Owen's adulthood. To love someone without having to like them could arguably be made parallel towards the different affairs Owen puts himself in a nearly night-to-night basis. While he can flirt all he wants he knows at the end of day it will never last.

But he is very capable of loving someone. Owen is your typical romantic; capable of wooing someone with the right choice of words and/or actions. The problem-- his fear rather has to do with idea of losing them. He has already lost his fiance. The one person who he shared very intimate feelings for. The one who he thought he was going to spend the rest of his life with.

But she left him.

In the case with Diane Holmes: Throughout the span of one week, Owen had fallen completely head over heels over her. He had never taken any one else out on extravagant dates like a five-star dinner and dancing under the moonlight. Somewhere deep down lied the same affection Owen once shared once upon a time. Like-- This is it! This is the one he could imagine being with for a long while.

And yet she left him.

It could be implied as a result of his childhood that there was no point for Owen to learn how to handle his emotions. He doesn't reach out for help. He hides-- puts up a front. Those emotions however do have an affect on him. Ask him if he is fine and will more than likely have the words "I'm fine" seethe through his teeth as he walks away. Such a cavalier exterior is enough to push any person away. There is much more emotional torment happening within though. So much so that it has a tendency to unleash itself when Owen reaches a certain threshold. Like that time when he had the golden opportunity to open the Rift to not only bring Toshiko and Jack back from 1941 but to bring Diane Holmes, the woman he fell in love in less than a week, back to him. Of course it's a selfish move but hey-- everyone wins, yeah? What's a little crack in the time-space continuum go to do with anything? Obviously this is not the right move to make but Owen is stuck. Torn between doing nothing or worsening the status quo. Do whatever it takes to bring his team but most importantly bring her back.

There is a deep loyalty embedded in that forthright, cynical and sarcastic attitude of his. At times he is stand-offish but there is much more at play here. He knows what it feels like to be unheard. To be isolated from the rest of the public sphere. He may not know every single Torchwood member's life in great detail however he understands what is at stake for all of them. This is not like any other job you can just pick up with ease. They see things that are incomprehensible; both beautiful and downright vile. Torchwood is the first line of defense when dealing with unknown phenomena and yet Owen cannot tell a single soul about it. Billions of people living on this rock and there is not a soul who he can share the emotional baggage with. So it becomes only natural to grow a deep attachment with his teammates despite not expressing such sentiment. More often than not he lets his actions speak for themselves (even though he is a real priiiiick).

Between having to chase around aliens, opening up the dead and writing a buttload of medical reports, at his very core, Owen is a doctor. The only difference is that he does not deal with patients anymore. After all that's been said about Owen's cynical nature there is an affection for human life which pulls him around by the heartstrings. When introducing Gwen to the rest of the, he addresses Owen by only his first and last name. To which Owen retorts "That's Doctor Owen Harper." A reminder to his boss and whoeverthehell the new girl is that he spent years at university to practice medicine; not to be locked up in some space-age hub doing alien autopsies for the rest of his living days. He takes his role as a medic very seriously. Even during in the heat of combat if one of his teammates gets injured, the next instinctive move is to clear the room from any danger and address the injury. Human life outweighs human curiosity.

Cynicism doesn't get in the way of his bedside manner. That cheekiness of his doesn't stray too far though, using that award-winning sarcasm of his to crack a smile out of someone. Not to be a prick (for the most part) but to show them that everything is going to be okay. So don't worry; call him an asshole all you want as long as you are alive. That is all that matters. If there is even a 0.1% chance of the person surviving then he is willing to play with those odds.

Such perseverance is one of his shining strengths but it also has its drawbacks which end up hurting Owen. Death and suffering are ideas he does not like to see inflicted on others. There are instances that yes-- you have to pull the trigger but those are under very extreme circumstances. Not unless his team or any other helpless person is in danger. It affects him whenever he sees someone die. He can hide his emotions very well but those pangs of guilt will not leave him.

This is partially tangential however one thing to note about Owen is his appearance. The team in general keeps a clean and modern appearance for a job that requires you to live and breathe Rift Activity on a 24/7 basis. Owen likes to consider himself very well-groomed; face moisturizers, pomade, nice smelling cologne, fashionable clothes that fit his body type-- whatever help his outer appearance to be aesthetically pleasant. Even when he is working down in his lab area, the lab-coat he wears has fun little pins on the lapel. Owen embraces his youth and lets that reflect with what he wears on a daily basis.

He prides himself in being high-maintenance. From the car he drives to how every inch of fabric in his wardrobe perfectly fits his wiry figure. Food? Loves it. While he does enjoy your occasional comfort foods there is also a taste for meals that are more rich and decadent. Unless, of course, when work gets in the way. It doesn't mean he is unwilling to get down and dirty when the moment calls for. Just don't expect him to be a happy camper when ordered to spend the night in the woods.

Abilities/Powers: No powers or abilities. Maybe being a real brilliant medical doctor having to study alien life and whatnot but nah-- he's prrretty human.

Items/Weapons:
the clothes on his back as well as...
[1] pistol
[1] medipack

Heaven hath no fury like a woman scorned.

While it was originally believed that Angela was created from the souls of sacrificed women, she has since been revealed as the long lost daughter of Odin and Freyja who was abducted by the Queen of Heaven at birth. After her death was staged, the Queen of Heaven (or "Heven", as it is spelled in the Marvelverse) took her to the Tenth Realm where she was raised to become a Hellspawn hunter. How her past from her run in the Image Comics will translate over to Marvel has yet to be seen, but her personality remains constant throughout both.

Angela is, in fitting the fiery redhead stereotype, fierce and temperamental. She is damn good at what she does and she knows it, and God help you if you get in her way. She has a passion-- an insatiable craving-- for the hunt, and will even wander space in search of alien beasts to slay between missions. Angela hunts with unmatched grace and skill that has earned her the reputation of being the strongest of her kind. But while she is a fascinating hero who fights the good fight, she tends to see the world in black and white, which can result in a lot of misunderstandings and conflicts. Fortunately for her, she can learn to see grey areas if she tries hard enough, sympathizing where she would have been otherwise ruthless like the battle-ready blood knight she is.

When Angela arrives in the Marvel Universe, she knows nothing of this new universe, nor how she wound up in it. The Guardians of the Galaxy are the first to find her and are shocked when their scanners reveal her as the only identifiable member of a species not yet known to the universe. When she is captured attempting to approach earth, she reveals her origins to the Guardians:

"It is where I am from. Heven. Where every young angel has been born, bred and schooled for one of the magnificent arts. To be soldiers, spies, assassins... each to their own divine strength... but only a select few are chosen for the most important expression... the most spiritual exploration of one's soul.. From birth we are trained completely, told stories of its purpose and greater glories... all teaching us the one true art. The art of the hunt."

Unlike her Image counterpart, Angela appears to have never seen, much less visited, Earth. To her, a member of a realm that has been sealed off from all other realms for hundreds of thousands of years, Earth was nothing more than a legend. A tale from a storybook. After the Guardians release her and allow her to travel to Earth, Angela is overwhelmed with awe that all of the stories she was told as a child were true.

Angela is a creature of honor, loyalty, and integrity. She believes in repaying debts and addresses people formally ("Lady" Gamora, for example, as she highly respects her as a fellow warrior; even though she first thought him cowardly, "Mister" Quill for Starlord). While she loves a good fight, she also believes in fighting fairly. When Starlord shoots her in the back, she calls the move cowardly. She also claims to only do things for "money and trade", but she's been shown acting on her own without any promise of compensation helping free slaves simply because it's the right thing to do.

Struggling with everything that has happened to her, Angela is now simply trying to discover her place-- as well as Heven's-- in the galaxy. While dealing with those outside her realm can be an exercise in patience and understanding, she does her best, never forsaking honor... or her instinct to hunt.

Abilities/Powers: Angela has demonstrated all of the abilities inherit of an angel of Heaven, including superhuman agility, speed, and strength, as well as an indefinite lifespan and the ability to traverse outer space at will. She's also skilled in the use of axes and lances. Recently, her secret origin as an Asgardian God has been revealed, so it is likely she possesses those abilities as well (which are basically the same as an Angel's, with the added power of accelerated healing as a bonus). She is also a trained warrior and superb hunter.

Items/Weapons: Her sword, axe, and lance.

VIDEO;

[ A stunning image in golden armor and flowing ribbons, Angela appears on the feed, an eyebrow raised as she fiddles with the device. Technology is not exactly her forte, but if she remembers correctly, these sorts of things are for communication, right? It's not unlike the thing Peter Quill gave her to use whenever she needed assistance.

And, well, she is definitely in need of assistance. After being tossed around more than a salad, she's become, shall we say, somewhat irritable enough to make some heads roll. ]

Mister Quill, you owe me, do you not?

[ She would very much like to cash in on her save, thank you. Even if he is a crazy idiot who keeps asking her who her boss is. Pupil-less eyes squint. Did the transmission send? She's not sure. She's not sure of a lot of things right now.

One thing she is sure of, however, is that someone will pay. 'Haven'... give her a break. If this is some attempt to mock her and her people... ]

Who is responsible for this?

[ She asks of no one in particular. She'll be surprised if anyone answers her at all. ]

[The camera turns on to reveal no person in sight. This much is sure: It is being shot in the kitchen area as the blur of the video phone reveals several pots on the stove top. As well as where the phone itself is position shows that someone is behind the phone, taping the area. Dim as the lights are, they are illuminate enough to make out other items within the camera's line of focus.

Utensils for starters. Utensils sure are helpful. They are at least a sign to Owen that this is not a prison. Technically it is but he'll take the bleak signs of hope lingering around.]

--Alriiiight... Video phone appears to be working just fine. Texting however-- [The camera shifts around to point at the sink.] is out of the picture. Now if I were an inter-dimensional mastermind bent on stealing people from different parts of the universe then why would I give my captives a partially functional cell phone of all things? Unless...

[Turning, turning aaaaaand there we go. Our cameraman is revealed. Well...only for a split second until he decides to zoom in closer to his face. A little too close for comfort; nothing but eyeball in this picture.] A list of faces with no names attached to them. Why would they do that...?

[Finally, the camera is pulled further back to reveal the young man in short, dark hair styled quite nicely for the occasion. His clothes are casual yet sharp. A fitted button down shirt and a pair of black slacks to go with. If one were to take a closer look then you would find small, smudges of dirt on the front collar and shoulder area.]

Well that's one sure way to keep tabs on us. [He winces.] Great. I just creeped myself out there. Hope you lot are enjoying this. I normally don't stick around post-apocalyptic ghost-towns very long. Not really my style, yeah?

[His face suddenly deadpans.]

By the way: The plumbing system here? It's the worst.

[Good. Glad he got that one out of his chest. Now he can end this video feed and continue on exploring Fuckallsville.]

Sample Entry Two:

Burns...Every--Everything burns...

Hot twisted metal pierces through his flesh. A mass explosion from within. He can't stop himself from collapsing. Cries are washed a way with the ringing inside his ears. All connection Owen had with the outside world is now far, far away from his grasp. Every single breath feels shorter. There is a taste of warm, metallic fluid from the back of his throat which continues to overflow. It won't stop. In mere seconds he is burning and drowning from within.

This is it. This is how your story ends. He can see them. His team. Oh god-- someone...somebody. Please help! All Owen wants to do is cry loudly for help as his throat continues to hemorrhage. There is nothing left to feel anymore. Nothing but to sink deeper and deeper into a sea of unconsciousness.

The dream is over.

One last breath turns into one giant gasp for air. A large gasp for air which soon turns into a frightful scream which can be heard from a long distance. Instincts tell Owen that he is still in danger. No one is around to reassure him, to make sense out of the sensation he has felt in merely seconds. Thoughts racing around his mind: 'What happened? Am I dead? Why am I here? Where is everyone else? Am I dead?!'

Bed. He is in bed. The unlit room makes it difficult to make out anything. All he can feel is the mattress under him and the sheets which now covers the lower-half of his body. The lack of reassurance makes Owen break out into a cold sweat; his breaths are now shorter and faster. Oh if he could only see!

It takes a moment for Owen to collect himself. Everything seems to jump from one scene to the next: from the bed to suddenly standing in front of the bathroom mirror. The door is wide open. Wide enough so that whoever lurks in this facility can see a shirtless man just staring. Any chance of washing his is completely out of the question.

Oddly enough, he made it.
