We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.

While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

Abilities/Powers:

Stats-wise, Dynos is a pretty balanced fighter, though he especially excels in speed, being one of the fastest characters in the game.

Firstly, he's a talented martial artist, having been trained since he was extremely young. Of note, though, is that he seems to prefer shooting energy from his hands, rather than straight-up close combat. As he has an Add Sickness Arm Force permanently attached to his gloves, he has a decent chance of inflicting the Sickness status effect to his target, which (aside from presumably making them feel sick) renders them unable to heal/be healed until the status effect is removed.

Ultimately, he leans more towards magic—that is, he's a capable mage as well. As he'll be bringing a Level 4 Fire Gem and a Level 4 Earth Gem with him to Haven, he's able to cast fire, earth, and dark (created by a fire + earth combo) magic across all four levels. As an additional note, he can 'sync' spells, which increases the effectiveness of the spell in some way, whether it be increasing the effects or adding new ones.

He also has three Excel Acts (aka special skills):

Three Cries: Three particularly powerful consecutive punches, with the last one possessing extra power.

Doubly Dark: A beam mixed of light and dark power. It also has the chance to inflict the Confusion and Poison status effects on the target(s).

Death in the Dark: An attack that unleashes massive dark power from the ground across a wide range of area.

Dynos is also a Deathchanter, using Real's magic, which is a fancy way of saying that he's a necromancer. Aside from being able to reanimate and control corpses, he is also able to summon a variety of undead monsters.

It wasn't the first time Dynos had woken up like this. Disoriented, surrounded by others like him, some sleeping, some awake—once he'd risen at the sudden sound of the alarm, that is. That was decidedly different (but he wasn't afraid of the dark—never afraid of the dark, not anymore). Otherwise, there was a remarkable sense of deja vu when he sat up, blinking as his eyes grew accustomed to the darkness.

This time, though, there was no father who opened his eyes. This time, he was fifteen, not twelve. This time, what he was awakening from wasn't a thousand-year long sleep, but death.

It took a few moments, as he tried to fight the pounding his head, before the memories resurfaced in his mind. They didn't flood in, however, as so much as they came in fragmented pieces—pieces that he had to put together.

(You're really going to fight me?

—now it's my turn to betray the world!

Dynos... it's over.)

Then, he remembered. He ripped off his own Dragon Gem, and then Cecille killed him. It was amusing, in a bitter sort of way, how at the age of twelve, she was willing to kill her own brother when he couldn't even kill a stranger at that age. There was no doubt in Dynos's mind as to why their father chose to sacrifice him over her—and to think that she felt that she had been the expendable one. It'd been him. It'd always been him.

A glance at his forearm confirmed what he had done, so he knew that that wasn't merely a dream (a regret of what should've happened, if it would've won his father's love?). His death was a reality, in which case perhaps this was the dream. After all, here he was, sitting with legs with blood flowing through them, breathing in the air of the living, and examining the world through eyes that should no longer see anything.

He was neither a Feldragon nor dead, and that was an impossibility.

"... But the dead don't dream," he muttered, stretching his arms that felt as if they hadn't been used in years, even though he'd fought just moments ago. Whether it was from the pain of his would-be transformation or an effect of his awakening—wherever it might be—he didn't know. To be honest, he didn't particularly care either.

More so than the soreness in his arms, there was a sense of discomfort in his stomach, spreading through the rest of his body so that he couldn't shake it off. It took a few moments before he realized what the cause was: he was disappointed. Truth be told, being alive (in whatever sense of the word) was a let down. He didn't want to be alive; that much was clear. His death was supposed to be the one thing that he actually did right, barring the fact that he hadn't succeeded in turning into a Feldragon. His immediate fate was—should've been—inevitable.

And yet he was still alive.

Of course, he would fail even at that. Of course, the world wouldn't even give him that much.

He let out a low laugh at that, for reasons he couldn't entirely decipher, before examining his surroundings further. That was all that he could do at this point, wasn't it?

It wasn't as if anything mattered anymore, after all.
