We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.

While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

Personality:
Precis is mostly an upbeat, go-get-’em type of girl. She says what she’s thinking, loves to play, and knows what she wants. It’s very difficult, though not impossible, to bring her down. She’s constantly finding new ways to entertain herself, and at times, she won’t take no for an answer. Her carefree and sometimes bubbly attitude makes her seem like she’s not taking things seriously, and sometimes? She isn’t. Yet, she’s very confident in what she can do.

Above all, though, Precis loves machines. The people in her town treat her absolutely terribly for this; in one scene, when her father goes missing, they openly tell the player character (Rena) that they hope he’s died. It’s hard not to imagine Precis has heard these words thousands of time herself. For reasons she’s unable to control, she just grew up in a completely toxic environment.The town, Linga, is just so dedicated to other “real" areas of study that they brushed her family off as insane. Still, she perseveres! If someone brings up symbology, she’ll instantly declare her machines are better (often to Celine’s annoyance), and she has so much faith in what she can do with her hands. By learning through experience, she has a wiser side, something that Ernest Raviede, someone from an advanced planet (Precis is from an underdeveloped planet), sees.

Deep inside, though, despite how she acts, Precis is still a teenage girl. She wants to have a boyfriend, and she’s incredibly lonely. When she meets Rena and Claude for the first time, she wants to do anything to travel with them, all because they treat her like a normal girl. After years of being ignored by the scholars in her town, Precis very much feels like an outcast, someone who’s not appreciated…and the loneliness gets to her at times. Yet, there she is, always putting on a smile, trying her hardest. She wants to be recognized, and she wants to have friends…and she isn’t afraid of flirting or gossiping to find anything out. She’ll do anything for them.

There’s also always this awkward side to Precis as well. She is, at times, overly childish and insists on doing things her way, such as when she forced a game of hide-and-seek and Claude despite their journey. She can be horribly blunt at times, since she doesn’t have a brain-to-mouth filter, but usually what she’s saying isn’t mean-spirited; it’s just something that needed to be said. She can also openly be disrespectful at times (mostly to Leon) and can be overly competitive, but these traits aren’t overwhelming to the point where she isn’t fun to be around or treated differently.

Once outside of her town, Precis shows she’s capable of making fast friends. She can still be annoying and childish, but she forms fast bonds with both Welch and Ashton. She even forms a rivalry with fellow child genius Leon, and her cheerfulness lets her bond with Chisato. As the game comes to an end, she shows extreme bravery, choosing to go to an abandoned continent and facing beings far more powerful than she is. Again, she never backs down…because, in the end? Once she has friends, she’ll never let them down…though she might try an invention on them from time to time!
Abilities/Powers: Precis has no innate abilities like magic or whatnot, but she's an Expellian and not a human! She ages more slowly than a human. Other than that, she's just a mechanical genius known for the invention of robotics on her home planet, Expel. She's also has the knowledge to build holograms, lasers, transforming technology, bombs, computer software, cameras, recorders, music synthesis programs, etc.
Items/Weapons: Precis will arrive with her robot Robbie, her robotic arm backpack/controller, and a wrench! Basically, Precis’s weapon in canon is a backpack that she wears with a robotic arm, hammer, and controller attached. It sounds complicated, but really, it’s just because she’s puny and frail. If that counts as more than one item, let me know! Also, Robbie can transform into a variety of other shapes, but I’m going to assume those forms (especially his giant form and his drilling machine form) will just be missing the parts needed to function. If he can still transform into a laser gun, lemme know? Her weapons are REALLY canonically strange, so. Yeah.
