We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.

While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

Sample Entry Two:
To an outsider, her room probably worked like a complete mess.

To Precis, it was an amazing work of art.

All of the machine parts and tools she’d gathered since she arrived in Luceti were strewn about the room in a chaotic order that made sense only to Precis; her logic was unique. The smell of oil and grease and...burnt rubber were evident to the person who had just knocked on her door. Precis didn’t hear it, though. She had ripped out of the beds of her spare bedroom and converted it into a workshop, and she was now working beneath a refrigerator, trying to figure out how it ticked. It was just another normal day for her.

“Man,” she admitted to herself, wiping sweat off of her forehead with her forearm (and spreading some oil she had picked up earlier onto it in the process). “These things are pretty cool. They’re a bit different than my old man’s, but...hey, Robbie, hand me that wrench, okay?” Her robot didn’t answer, as always, but she used her remote control to command him to do as ordered...or so she thought. Once he moved closer, the robot swiftly decked her in the face with the wrench.

“H-hey! That’s not what I told you to---ugh!” Precis bolted upright with a start and reached for her miniature robot companion. This wasn’t how he was supposed to work! She thought she had gotten all the bugs out of his system, but apparently that wasn’t the case, and she just couldn’t do anything while he was misbehaving like that. She quickly moved after the fleeing robot, when a knock sounded on the door again. She was only distracted for a second, but that was enough of a distraction to lose Robbie in her apartment.

“J-just one second!”

Scrambling to her feet once more, Precis raced to open the door for her surprise visitor. When she did, she barely even registered his face or what he was there for, since she had other things to do. She also had forgotten that her face was covered in sweat, oil, and now blood thanks to her little incident with Robbie.

“It’ll be just one second! Sorry, but wait here, okay?”

With that, she shut the door in her guest’s face, not even thinking about what he was going to think about the display.

“Robbie, come out, come out, wherever you are...! It’ll just take a few quick fixes.”

Alright, soooo, I’m just gonna make this quick, ‘kay? You guys know that well, right? That one we all drink from? Well, I kind of accidentally blew it up.

[She pauses for effect. Man, all of these people are gonna be angry, huh? Still, she smiles innocently because part of her still thinks it was really awesome.]

See, I was doing some maintenance on Robbie, and it got a little bit out of hand. I’ll spare you the boring technical stuff, but the end result is pretty obvious. I’m sure someone’s gonna notice, so it’s better I come clean, right? Don’t make those faces at me—building a well is probably a thousand times easier than inventing robotics, so I’ll have one up and running soon. It’ll be a piece of cake!

[In the background of the video feed, her robot can be seen walking into a wall repeatedly. Things are clearly just as exciting as ever for her.]

Soooo, that’s it! If you have any questions, just...give ‘em to me, I guess. And remember, it was an accident and I’m really, really sorry. It probably won’t happen again.
