We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.

While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

Abilities/Powers:

Physically-speaking, Zohra is an expert at combat, both in hand-to-hand and with weaponry. He’s fast on his feet, agile, strong, can take a hit and fight even when exhausted, etc. His weapon of choice, being an assassin, tends to be (potentially poisoned) daggers, whether for close combat or for throwing. Additionally, he can move soundlessly and conceal his presence.

On a non-combat-related note, he's good at other assassin-y things, like picking locks. He can also be quite the actor, to the point where he manages to cough up fake blood with, as far as we know, little preparation.

In terms of magic, Zohra is a very capable mage, worthy of being compared to a magic genius/the Greatest Magician in Roland. As such, his abilities ranges from being able to cast advanced spells to creating magic traps and structures and the like. His skill level is to the point where, over the course of years, he's been able to create original spells.

Items/Weapons: Two knives, one of which is coated in poison, and the Severed Remains of Menos, aka a doll-like object that, upon being activated, will create a widespread fire that will burn through everything, including the user.

It was going to be another day of training, Zohra decided. Or rather, "another day" wasn't quite the best way to put it, considering there were fewer days where he didn't train than when he did. While a part of him realized that it might be fruitless, if he were to return home with all of his practice undone, it didn't sit well with him to simply stop because of that.

"Besides," he muttered, "Pia would be mad."

(Of course, this was assuming he survived his encounter with Lucile, of which there was no guarantee.)

At the very least, any training done here might come in handy for, well, here. While Zohra didn't feel any more threatened than he did back home, it was clear that he couldn't afford to let down his guard. That said, that was also perhaps the wrong way to put it, since it wasn't that he was avoiding danger. Rather, he intended to straight head to it. After all, there was no better training than going up opponents—in this case, the monsters in the subway.

Standing in his apartment room, he clasped on his armour, before checking that all his knives were in place and that all his equipment was fully prepared. Despite it being rather routinely for him, he didn't skimp on anything. An easy way to die was to be unprepared, and he had no intention of letting that be his downfall.

"Talk about a lame way to die..."

He would die of humiliation if Pia ever learned about it, never mind that Pia wasn't even in Haven (he'd know). For that matter, it'd probably be even worse if Peria learned. The bastard would never let him live it down.

Checking over everything a second time, he stretched his back and decided that he was ready. To the empty room—

"All right, I'm off!"

Placing one foot on the window frame, he jumped out.
