Applications Two

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED!
The next application opening date is Friday 16th January, 7pm EST.
The next application processing date is Friday 23rd January, 7pm EST.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE POST YOUR APPLICATIONS HERE ON THE NEW APPLICATION PAGE
We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.
In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.
You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.
Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.
If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.
Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.
We now have a test drive community athaventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.
While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

Then he was tracked down and murdered by a ghoul.
For all intents and purposes, that should have been the end of Adam Milligan. In a way, it was, too, because the young man who was brought back to life by the angels was not the same young man who had been murdered by that ghoul.
No, that Adam was troubled and mistrusting. He was angry at the life he'd had taken from him and furious that it had happened solely because of who his father happened to be. He held major resentment toward his half-brothers for reasons he couldn't even explain. He hated the fact that they were so close, hated the fact that he wasn't a part of their dynamic, yet also hated the fact that they wanted to include him in that dynamic. He was mistrusting of them from the start and was motivated solely by the fact that he wanted desperately to see his mother again. Whereas before he would have at least listened to another view on the subject, the Adam that was raised from the dead wasn't interested in such things. The angels had told him what needed to happen and, as far as he was concerned, that was all that mattered.
Ultimately, Adam's common sense did kick in but it was too late. His own stubbornness had left him deaf to reason for too long. Just as he began to come back to himself and realize that maybe his brothers weren't the enemy after all, and certainly weren't the reason he and his mother had died in the first place, Michael was using him as a vessel.
And then he was in Lucifer's cage.
It goes without saying that the cage has changed Adam. The man he is now is barely a shadow of the man he once was. The joy he once found in life has been forgotten, as has the hope he held out that he'd someday be reunited with his mother again. The blind trust he once had in the world around him, and the people in his life, has been shattered, and the resentment and hatred he carried toward the Winchesters, as well as his own, unfortunate, lot in life, has only grown during the time he's been left alone, forgotten, in a place where only the devil should be.
Of course, there's still hope for him. He isn't broken entirely. His mind is still his own, his thoughts and actions are driven by logic. He's ever the bit as intelligent as he was before and he's certainly capable of being just as dryly sarcastic and caustic as ever. With time and support, he could theoretically bounce back from the brink. He could continue to grow, and flourish, and perhaps even someday forgive himself for the mistakes he's made and the world for screwing him over so many times.
For now, though, the only things keeping Adam going are his resentments, his anger, and a strong desire to survive despite all the odds that are stacked against him.
Abilities/Powers: Adam is a Winchester (by blood) and therefore is one of the few who can be Michael's vessel. He's intelligent, as evident by his choice to go into the medical field, and because of his mother's occupation does have some medical (triage/first aid) experience. He seems to be a quick study and his knack for taking things in stride is something that can come in handy. However, he has very limited knowledge of the supernatural world and no special abilities of his own whatsoever, magical or otherwise.
Items/Weapons: Adam will arrive with nothing more than the clothes he's wearing.

Sample Entry Two: Pain. For as long as he could remember, pain was all Adam had known. No. Pain wasn't the right word. Agony, maybe. Or something even stronger than that, whatever that might be. Words were failing him at the moment. Everything was failing him at the moment. His senses told him that where he'd found himself was real, that there wasn't any fire consuming him, that the pain he'd known for so long was finally, finally gone. Yet experience told him that it wouldn't last. Sooner or later, Lucifer would grow tired of the illusion, or Michael would put a stop to it, and the agony would return, even stronger than before as the two Archangels once again began to fight while putting Adam squarely in the middle.
It hadn't always been that way, he was pretty sure. Once upon a time, Sam had been there too. Sam had protected him as best he could, done everything in his power to keep him shielded from the grudge match between the higher beings. Then Sam had gone away, and Adam had been left alone. Alone to deal with everything while having no power to stop any of it. Alone to come to terms with the fact that this was his existence, now. He was nothing more than a means to an end. A way for Lucifer to strike out at Michael, and a way for Michael to show his displeasure at Adam not being good enough... at him not being Dean.
And then it was inexplicably gone and, while Adam knew that it couldn't be real, because nothing this nice would ever be real again, he was still loathe to see it end. It was those moments, those rare instances when the torture stopped and before the mind games began, that he was able to sometimes - just sometimes - seize hold of his sanity and try to figure out a way to survive another day.
This time, though, things were decidedly different. When he tried walking away once getting off the boat, no one stopped him. The illusion didn't dissolve. In fact, he was greeted with the sharp sounds and harsh lights of a world he'd forgotten even existed. No. Not his world. Somewhere else. Still not the cage, though.
Stumbling backward a bit, as the sounds began to assault him from multiple directions, he blinked a few times before forcing his legs to continue carrying him. Whatever Lucifer was playing at, whatever was keeping Michael from stepping in, Adam didn't care. He just knew that this was a chance to at least try to find a way out and he wasn't about to waste it.
-> REVISE
The reason for this is that the current section focuses much more on the events of his life, and his history, rather than how these shaped him as a person and the motivations behind his actions. We would like to see a greater expansion into his core traits and personal outlook.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and you have one week to reply to these revisions. Thank you.
-> DECLINED
You are welcome to reapply at any time, thank you.
