Applications Two

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED!
The next application opening date is Friday 16th January, 7pm EST.
The next application processing date is Friday 23rd January, 7pm EST.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE POST YOUR APPLICATIONS HERE ON THE NEW APPLICATION PAGE
We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.
In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.
You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.
Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.
If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.
Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.
We now have a test drive community athaventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.
While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

HANJI ZOE / ATTACK ON TITAN / RESERVED
Contact Info: shslsoldier at skype
Other Characters Played: n/a
Requested apartment: n/a
Character Name: Hanji Zoe
Canon: Attack on Titan
Canon Point: The beginning of chapter 42 of the manga, when Hanji is so heavily injured in a fight that they lose consciousnesss.
Background/History: wiki page
Personality: Hanji is the last person you'd expect to be a product of the military. They're uninhibited. They throw caution to the wind. They're eccentric, disorganized, obsessive. But they also have an uncanny ability of doing all the right things. Maybe they're a genius. Either that, or it's pure luck, but Hanji's survived up to this point.
Scratch that. It definitely wasn't luck. Hanji's intelligence and ambition was enough to pioneer titan research and almost single-handedly push it further than anyone could have imagined. Hanji has critical thinking skills and is talented at strategy and logic, though most of the time they ignore logic altogether. However, they know when it's time to get serious. When Hanji wants or needs something, they get it. And, as far as they're concerned, there's no moral limit on what you can do to achieve your goal; the ends justify the means.
Hanji's drug is danger - nothing's more thrilling than going head-on into danger and living to tell the tale. But it's not always about the danger; they also have a genuine love for understanding what it is that puts the human race at risk. They're curious, to a fault. The fault being that they end up putting people (mostly themselves) in danger. They don't always know when to stop, and since they don't always take threats seriously, they put themselves in danger of death near constantly.
They have some amount of empathy for titans, and a passion for their study. No one else can really claim to have a love of titans the way Hanji can. It's almost as if titans are the only thing Hanji can 100% understand on an emotional level. Despite their reputation for wiping out large amounts of the human race, Hanji truly cares for the titans they capture for science. When it comes to their experimenting, they can talk for literally hours, keeping someone up all night with their excited rambling. After years of seemingly little progress in the field, Hanji never gets bored. None of their colleagues truly understand why, but they've never bothered to explain - perhaps no one else would understand.
Most things about Hanji are beyond understanding, but they couldn't care less about how they look in the eyes of others. There are more important things to be worrying about. Neither are relationships, or money, or power.
So what does Hanji worry about?
Despite popular belief among the newer ranks, Hanji does have morals, and most certainly has fears. One of them is losing their ability to tell right from wrong in the heat of battle. Another is hurting someone they didn't mean to hurt. More than anything, more than their love of titans could ever dissuade themselves from, they're terrified of losing their humanity.
However, how long can they survive with their morality completely intact? Sounds like an exciting experiment. Let's get started!
Abilities/Powers: Most would say that Hanji's strongest ability is their quick wit, but their 3 years of strenuous military training didn't hurt either. Those years resulted in a large growth of stamina and the ability to maintain a cool head during stressful situations - well, when they bother to try. Their intelligence also makes them incredibly hard to kill and an excellent strategizer - Hanji's statistics place their wisdom at 11/10. However, they have no abilities beyond that of a normal human being.
Items/Weapons: 3-Dimensional Maneuver Gear - Body harness holding a gas-powered propeller and a holder for two swords.
Two Blades - Strong enough to slash a titan - provided you aim well enough.
Gas Cannisters - To fire the puppy up.

So guess where I am!
[Hanji, true to their word, waits for a response but, of course, there is none.]
...due to the almost frightening silence on my end, I'm going to assume that you are all too excited to speak. So I am...
Underground!
"But Haaaanji, why are you underground?"
What a RIDICULOUS question! Why NOT be underground? I can't think of a single reason why being above ground at this moment is preferable to my current state.
But really.
I am currently digging an underground tunnel myself to see what I can see. If anyone's interested in lending me a hand and doesn't have any known allergies, join me near the well. Bye now!
Sample Entry Two: http://shy-epistemologist.tumblr.com/tagged/the-meteor-shower-debacle More can be provided at request; this is a modern-day AU where the characters are reincarnated.
