We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.

While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

[ after a long and extensive search of the area, milla is confused about her whereabouts. it's as if they are all trapped here for no reason at all. could it be because of exodus? it couldn't be gaius and muzet, after all, gaius did ask for them to come meet him and gave them the means to. none of this made any sense at all. ]

Greetings denizens of this place, I have a question for you all. One that I've been wondering ever since I arrived here. Why are we taken from all walks of life and placed here for seemingly no reason at all? There must be an explanation.

[ she recalls the barrier when she went exploring and wonders why there is a need to trap them all here.. for what purpose? ]

I would like an answer as soon as possible.

[ her voice is serious and her words are to the point. milla is trying to figure out a way to leave this place and return to the dimensional breach and finish what she started. she has no time for detours, especially not one as long as this.

Sample Entry Two:

The last thing she remembers is entering the Temporal Crossroads, ready to face Gaius and Muzet in their final battle. Then suddenly there was nothing. No pull, no push, just darkness and the sudden shock of waking up in a place unknown. Her first instinct was to get up, to check her surroundings. However the place was completely unfamiliar to her, and there was no one around. It felt like a ghost town and none of her party members were in sight. Milla decided to refrain from trying to summon The Four and instead remained quiet as she examined the area. If she did find someone she would immediately ask them questions and find the answers she desired. She would also remain cautious however, because something felt very wrong about this place.

The more she searched, the less she could find. No places with any records - not even a library to check. Which was extremely strange, because usually human towns have at least some kind of written records of past events or important history. However Milla could find nothing, and her situation was getting progressively worse. What if in this time Gaius and Muzet do what they set out to do? What if Milla fails her duty as Maxwell and cannot stop them? No, she can't think like that. She is better than that. She has people whom she will not let down, and so she must continue to push forward. So Milla never relents in finding more about her whereabouts while simultaneously keeping her guard up. With sword in hand she would find her way back to the Temporal Crossroads and she would meet up with everyone else. No matter what, Milla Maxwell would make this happen.

While the majority of the application looks okay, we'd like to ask for a revised first person sample.

The reason for this is that we feel the one provided does not give enough insight into Milla's personality for us to adequately judge it.

[ she had searched all over, but to no avail. the most she was able to gather from the area was that she was trapped here along with many others. they all seemed to have nothing in common save for their common circumstance. there were many strange things about the place, and one thing in particular was this book. she was flipping through it most curiously wondering why the contents had disappeared. those listening to the audio can hear the fast flipping of pages, as if the person recording was trying to figure out a secret code or find some kind of answer.

books normally have words written upon them and milla would know because she's read them all her life. this book had pages upon pages of things written and now that she's brought it back to haven west: nothing. nothing at all. white. blank. ]

How peculiar... this book I brought with me has changed. The words that were once written are now all gone. Is this a common occurrence? Have similar things happened in the past? And if so, is it possible for other things to suddenly disappear?

[ it was kind of worrisome. could it be that her companions have also disappeared? or could they be trapped somewhere? ]

I am getting a very bad feeling about this... to those of you listening make sure to be careful. If anything happens, do not hesitate to call me. It is my duty as Maxwell to ensure that those who have been kidnapped are safe.
