We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.

While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

[ it takes a day or so before he can bring himself to even look at his device. an entire day spent exploring, hiding away in shadows, realizing after those first few interactions just how wrong he'd been. because for him, he'd fallen asleep. he'd been curled with his back to zatanna and he'd thought 'tomorrow will do something, tomorrow something will change.

it changed, alright.

so much that robin needs the time to refigure his way around. the landscape itself has shifted so much, and he finds that's the hardest part. a map he has to redraw, rememorize. when he finds himself perched on the highest possible, he finally settles enough to pull it out, check the device to make sure at least the mechanics of it are what he remembers.

he gets the audio working after a little bit, needing some time to scan the network itself before he can bring himself to turn it on. audio only, of course, because his laugh should always be the first thing people hear. ]

'sup, Haven? I've apparently got a serious case of amnesia- anyone wanna update me? I've got about eight months missing at this point. Cliffnotes appreciated. [ he already got a rundown from conner, and from zatanna, but hearing it from just about anyone else would help. add info to info, after all. ]

It's Rob- by the way. First one, which is something I have to actually mention? [ he did before, but the nice bit about being around before the other robins started showing up meant that he got first dibs. now, he has no clue. ] Who knew?

It's...wrong.

Which, really, should make more sense than it does. Waking up in Haven was an experience that Dick never got used to, no matter how long he was here, how often he opened his eyes to find the crumbling bits of the ceiling above his head. Feeling wrong meant that he wasn't jaded to the dangers of his immediate scenery, wasn't letting his guard down in a city that you never could.

He opens his eyes and sees the same ceiling, but something is off. Everything is off. More off than should be allowed or even possible over the span of a single night. His stomach is in knots, his gut telling him to run, but he needed to find Zatanna first. Conner. Anyone. Because despite that urge that is always there under the surface, itching at the under layer of his skin, they have to stick together. It's the best plan of action for everyone, it always has been, and Haven just made that more obvious to him as time went on. Together they could survive, together they could handle this, he just needed to get to her (and Conner and Kon, but details) and then he could move on from there.

"Zee?" Because his bed was empty, which wasn't right. Usually he's the one that's up first, out first; getting more than two or three hours of sleep at a time was unheard of for him, especially here. And yet he's awake and there's no one here. "Supey? Kon?" His super hearing should pick up on that, right? Still, Rob feels that itch in his hands to check his wrist-computer, despite how long it's been since he's even had one.

Something's wrong. Something's really wrong.

He gets up with a start, already making his way out the door when he pulls out the device, checks the pictures of the people here and stops. Because it's one thing to see something and not believe it, another to see something that is hard to believe. But when he sees something there and knows, in his gut, that it's right despite how it shouldn't? How impossible it is?

Robin takes off running.

quick question, though: when he was previously in haven, his tag was character: robin. would there be a way to consolidate the tags? should I stick with that tag or is there a way to go back and change that previous tag?
