We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every application round, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Applications are open on a monthly cycle, where they will be opened on the second Friday of every month for a week, and then processed on the third Friday of the month, before being closed again.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old. As of November 22nd 2014, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened.

While we encourage players who have dropped to re-join us, we do not encourage the continual rapid dropping and re-apping of the same character in a short time period. You are welcome to request specific housing, and all attempts will be made to accommodate that request, but it may not always be possible.

Items/Weapons: Kurikara, his demon-slaying sword which possesses his heart, a hairclip to pin his bangs back, and (1) completely blank manga.

Sample Entry Two: Needless to say, finding a garden of sorts at the base of a craphole isn't something he was anticipating -- which suggests Rin thinks ahead, ever. He does not, but it's still a surprise. What isn't a surprise, however, is the sorry state these plants are in. Shiemi would have a fit if she were to see this, he thinks.

Unaware of the dangers, he moves to crouch down by a seemingly-dried-out-but-easily-identifiable apple (he's not inclined to test it), picking it up by it's little stem and turning it over and over. Aside from dried out apples having an awful taste/texture, who knows what it could be infused with. It could be a byproduct of reading too much manga (not to dismiss all the insane crap he's been through), but everything within eyeshot looks downright suspicious...though he's not necessarily concerned for himself. At least he can identify this crap as unsavory.

Then again, anyone who ventures down this way's gotta have their guard up.

He abandons the expired fruit and trudges onward, but his trek is an abbreviated one when something from somewhere is launched at the back of his head. Contact is made un form of a harsh THUNK (proving his head isn't as hollow as one may be lead to believe) and prompts a loud:

"OI!! Now's not the time to be screwin' around!"

And when Rin Okumura whirls around with that kind of advice, you know you're messing up. Except, he doesn't see anyone? Not to his rear or on either side of him. The object, however, ends up at his feet and when he goes to retrieve it ("it" which resembles an oversized seed), he's struck a second time.

...which nearly has him doubled-over. Not due to pain (though it hurts like a bitch, these seeds aren't cushioned), but out of sheer surprise, somehow.

"Shit! What the hell did I just say-?!"

Assuming there's no language barrier, whoever's harassing him should've stopped the first time. He tucks both seeds under his arms and proceeds to rush forward, seeking our the perpetrator..and not at all to return their ammo. More likely, the guy's gonna get two matching lumps.
