Applications

APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN!
The next processing date is Friday 11th October

IMPORTANT: PLEASE POST YOUR APPLICATIONS HERE ON THE NEW APPLICATION PAGE

We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every two weeks, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. If you wish to request a specific apartment, please do so in the relevant part of the application. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Every attempt will be made to place a character in their chosen apartments, though this may not always be possible depending on the slots available.

Applications are open constantly, but are only processed every other Friday at 7PM EST. The Saturday following acceptance, an IC mingle log will be posted for characters to be introduced to the game.

We now have a test drive community at [community profile] haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old.

Hiro Kageyama | Devil Survivor 2 | Not Reserved 3/3

Items/Weapons: COMP, clothes and MP3 player.
Sample Entry: Post 1, Post 2 annnd Thread
Sample Entry Two:
Step. Step. Step. ... Step.

From the edge of his eye and the perk of his ears, he could've sworn that something was following him. Hiro had turned around on the dirt path and gave a look around. From the looks of it, there was only the path that was stretched out behind him and the rest of the town ahead of him. Then he looked down at the ground and didn't seem to see anyone else's footprints other than his. All in all, this really felt like the perfect set up for a horror movie. If he was the protagonist, then where was his band of merry men and women to tag along with him in this adventure?

Ah. That's right. He would've asked the people in his apartment if they wanted to tag along for a little adventure, but he took nap before asking them properly. Whenever he opened his eyes, the apartment was empty with only a bunny-haired protagonist staying behind. Everyone else looked like they left on their own personal agendas.

"Next time, I'll have to ask them first, and then take a cat nap later."

It was strange how close his bonds were with everyone back home, yet now... He's all alone without them. There was an unsettling look on his face that no one else was there to see. With his comrades, he felt like he could take on the universe if he needed. But now, it was far too surreal to be without them for the first time considering everything that they've been through together. There have been fun times, sad times and even scary times. Yet it suddenly feels like it was all a dream. Hiro had to admit that there was an empty feeling that couldn't go away ever since he came here.

Was this loneliness?

Meeting new people wasn't hard for him, but it was still sudden to wake up somewhere away from home. Even so, he was determined to make new bonds. At least, he hoped so from the people he met in his apartment. They were all acquaintances for the most part, but nothing more than that. And while having a crummy apartment was seriously a step down from having the warm beds at JPs, he had to admit that it wasn't fair that he and the others had it easy while everyone was suffering outside of those secure walls. But everyone was roughing it up in their own ways regardless of having security or not. And it wouldn't be a stretch to say that he was already familiar with a setting like this. Tokyo wasn't exactly in a bad state compared to this town... But for all he knew, this could've represented a possible future for his home if everything didn't work with taking control of Polaris.

Was he worried? A little bit.

Was he scared? A little bit.

But he wasn't going to let those feelings rule him. And it was more about how his friends back at home were going to handle themselves without him around. He was already considered as the deal breaker for what was going to happen next with deciding how the world was going to become. As heavy as it felt, everyone was going to place all of their hopes on him. But for now, he needed to focus on the present. As a precaution, he took out his COMP and summoned both of his demons to his side. It wouldn't hurt to have an extra set of eyes as he explored around some more.

"Keep a look out for anything or anyone suspicious. I wouldn't want to get a Game Over before I got a chance to find anything interesting."

Whatever was waiting for him in the shadows, he was going to be ready. The youth gave his demons a nod before he moved forward into the abandoned building. If there was anyone waiting for him in there, then he should check things out.

"Let's survive."

Character Name: Amaterasu, often shortened to "Ammy"
Canon: Okami
Canon Point: After the end of Okami, but before Okamiden
Background/History:Origin of all that is good, and mother to us all.

Upon awakening in Haven, Amaterasu will find herself in a human body. This enables her to actually hold her phone (no fingers or opposable thumbs as a wolf) and to speak human languages!

Personality: Amaterasu is referred to throughout the game as "source of all that is good and mother to us all". But in her mind, the latter always comes first.

Ammy sees everything and everyone as her child. As the "True Mother to All", she sees every living thing as her responsibility to take care of, nurture, and protect. She heals every dead tree that she encounters, feeds every wild animal, and goes out of her way on many sidequests to help the various humans she meets.

Her love is unconditional and relentless - she will love you the moment she meets you and it is nearly impossible to get her to stop. She believes everyone is capable of changing for the better and won't hesitate to nudge people towards the right path in her own way. She's very encouraging and comforting, and will never give up on someone she loves. She's optimistic in other people and helpful to a fault - she can be taken advantage of fairly easily, as her history with one Ninetails proves.

Amaterasu is nonetheless someone you don't want to make an enemy of. Like the alpha female of a wolf pack, she is ferociously protective of her children, but also expects to be respected. She will forgive others much more easily of an offence directed at herself than she forgives one directed at one of her children, but an insult against her will not be forgotten easily.

Thus, she sees things in shades of black and white. Where she's from, humans are good and demons are mostly bad; she does not easily understand that some humans have the hearts of demons. She's very naive and gullible that way, but in drastic situations, she suddenly becomes very good at cutting through lies.

A dog's unconditional love isn't the only doggy thing she's inherited. She can also be easily distracted or just plain stop paying attention to what people are saying to her, although it's usually when she's being told things she already knows or are fairly obvious. She chews on things that are unfamiliar to her, and loves touching and scratches behind the ear.

Finally, Amaterasu is truthful... mostly. She's a mom, so she knows when the truth will hurt, so she knows when telling white lies will help and how to break painful news carefully. She cannot tell people outright that she is a goddess because that undermines the faith she needs in order to protect her people, so she will regularly tell the half-truth that she is a servant of "a higher power".

Abilities/Powers:
SHE HAS A LOT. Let's see if I get them all.
♕ Wolf Hearing: She'll be turning into a human form in order to communicate without her ink, but she'll be retaining her wolf ears and tail, and thus her wolfy sense of sound.
♕ Near-Immortality: Amaterasu is the physical incarnation of a goddess. She can be killed in battle against demons/beings that have a cursed aura or opponents who have some sort of connection to magic, but is otherwise very difficult to slow down.
♕ Speed/Agility: Ammy is capable of running for very long distances without slowing down. She can also jump while already in the air (a double-jump) and jump off of walls after briefly clinging to it.
♕ Digging: She may not be a wolf anymore, but she still has hands and the skills to dig with doesn't she?
♕ General Healing: Ammy is constantly trailed by vegetation. When she walks, grass follows in her wake, and flowers sprout behind her when she runs. Autumn leaves follow her double jump, and little lily pads float away from her when she swims. When she falls from high places, grass radiates out from her. Ammy promotes plant growth wherever she goes even without her ink, apparently healing the soil and causing plants to grow even without seeds. This may expand to being heal other people in game, but she would definitely need a good amount of Praise (see below) to know she was even capable of it.
♕ Celestial Brush Techniques: Ammy is capable of manipulating ink - by drawing shapes and lines around her, different effects will take place. She usually generates the ink by herself, but this ability will be taken away upon arrival to Haven. She could potentially draw them with mud but obviously Haven won't like it. :I
♛ Sunrise: By drawing a circle in the sky, Ammy can turn night into day. At least in her universe. Because she's not a goddess of the Haven world, she can't manipulate time to that degree. If she were to attempt something like it, it might create a glowing disk that can act as a light source, but only for a few minutes, if that would be allowed!
♛ Crescent: Opposite of the above; by drawing a crescent in the sky, Ammy can turn day into night. Adapted, it would create a temporary cloak of invisibility, lasting for only a few minutes, if allowed of course.
♛ Rejuvenation: By inking in the broken or missing parts of objects, she can restore them to full or working condition.
♛ Power Slash: By drawing a single horizontal or diagonal line through something, the ink will cut it in half, depending on the material.
♛ Bloom: The ability to restore plants. By drawing a circle around a dead tree, she can restore leaves to it; by leaving single dots on soil, a tree will sprout; and by drawing general doodles on the earth, she can create blooming flowers.
♛ Water Lily: By drawing a circle on top of water, Ammy can create big lily pads!
♛ Vine: By drawing a line between herself and certain floating magic flowers called Konohana Blossoms, Ammy can create vines to stand up on top of them. Unless the flowers show up in Haven, this won't be happening.
♛ Cherry Bomb: By drawing a circle with a line intersecting it, similar to a Q, Ammy can create a rather large bomb, which can be used in combat or to blow up walls.
♛ Waterspout: By drawing a line originating from a body of water, the water will follow the ink to wherever the line ends.
♛ Galestorm: By drawing a loop-de-loop or a spiral, Ammy can create gusts of wind.
♛ Inferno: By drawing a line originating from a flame, the fire will follow the ink to wherever the line ends.
♛ Veil of Mist: By drawing two horizontal lines, Ammy can slow time to a near-stop for four seconds.
♛ Catwalk: Similar to Vine, in that it relies on objects that aren't in Haven. If Ammy finds statues of the Cat Goddess Kabegami, she can draw lines from the statue onto the wall(s) behind it, allowing her to jump onto walls and cling longer than she would normally be able to.
♛ Thunderstorm: By drawing a line originating from a source of electricity, the lightning will follow the ink to wherever the line ends.
♛ Blizzard: By drawing a line originating from ice, the ice will follow the ink to wherever the line ends.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Ammy does have secret brush techniques - improvements and variations of the above - but she won't be able to use them in Haven, at least not right away. As a goddess, Ammy requires
♕ Praise: The faith of the people in her/the Gods. Only people who are deeply religious/believe in the supernatural/spiritual things can see her red markings and her weapons when she isn't using them in battle. The more people believe in her, the more of these secret brush techniques she'll be able to unlock.

Items/Weapons: Her three strongest Divine Instruments - her reflector Solar Flare, her rosary the Tundra Beads, and her glaive Thunder Edge.

Sample Entry: [The feed snaps on in the very early morning, while most of Haven's residents are surely asleep, to show... nothing. Well, almost nothing. There appears to be a white eyebrow, white bangs, and the sound of chewing. The sound continues for a moment until finally, the recorder pulls back and stares down at the phone. The woman doesn't appear to recognize that it's recording. She has white hair, gold eyes, and what appears to be two dog-like ears peeking out of the crown of her head.

She sets the phone aside, the new angle revealing that she's crouched on the window sill of the apartment. One side of the window is open, and she's practically outside the building, the way she's staring up at the sky. Eventually, she throws back her head and howls, but even that stops as the sun starts to rise off in the distance.

The video is silent until the woman finally speaks to herself.]
This is not the Nippon I know. This is not my sunrise. This is not even my body. [The ears on the top of her head fold backwards and press close to her hair.] In the name of Takamagahara, where am I?

Sample Entry Two: Grass and flowers have returned to this place in her footsteps, but she has not yet encountered any animals. The true mother can only do so much to help the humans, vampires, robots and other citizens of Haven before she begins to grow concerned for her other children.

She does not wander away from the complex or the well very often - there is almost always some endeavour to help with, whether it be carrying water to and fro, or helping collect information, or just keeping someone company. Haven is most definitely not her world; it belongs to all of them and none of them. There is understandably no air of peace or calm in a giant prison. The sun cannot be caged forever, but the unbreakable perimeter is starting to grate upon even her nerves. She does her best to keep her frustration hidden however. The mother must be brave for her children.

Deep within the ruins of Haven she stops, shredded green plants and a few seeds of fruit in her hands. She places it on the ground, and lays down a few feet away. It takes hours, possibly, but when the starved-looking rat emerges from a building, it is all worth it. "Hello, my little one," she murmurs softly, as it skitters hesitantly closer. "You must be hungry."

Before getting into Luna’s history in specific, I want to detail the events prior to her creation. The year is 2029 and a virus by the name Radical-6 is released in the open by a religious cult called Free The Soul. Free The Soul believes that the body is a vessel for the soul and that to become pure again the physical body must be destroyed. They released the Radical 6 virus on New Year’s Eve 2028 in a Nevada Mars Test Site, which was used to simulate missions to Mars by NASA. Radical-6 is a virus that is spread out through physical contact or can be liquidated and injected into the blood stream, which leads to slower brain processing speed (specifically slowing down processing to the root of 1/6th, hence the name Radical-6) and suicidal thoughts. These suicidal thoughts are incredibly pervasive and fit within the context of the Free The Soul’s beliefs, where the infected patient believes that they are trapped in their body and must die to escape.

Getting back to 2029, the world is now facing pandemic. Radical-6 has quickly spread and people are committing suicide every day, be it under the influence of Radical-6 or through the result of Radical-6 on society. Free The Soul’s influence has meanwhile expanded with the pandemic and global leaders are pressed to make difficult decisions to save humanity. On April 13th 2029 it is decided that to rid the world of Radical-6, a nuclear strike on the most infected regions of the world must be conducted. It is theorized in the game that the ones who made the decision to set off these nukes were also infected with Radical-6 and wanted to use the nukes as a way to kill themselves. In any case the nukes are launched and are successful at wiping out Radical-6. However in the process the world enters nuclear winter. Crops, animals and even people die as a result of the catastrophe and the world is plunged backwards in terms of resources and basic luxuries that were once readily available to all.

Through all of this madness there was a man who lived on a base called Rhizome 9 on the moon. His name is Doctor Klim, a genetic engineer who was involved in the incident that first released Radical-6 into the open world. He tried to prevent it, but the game describes that he failed and lost both his arms and left eye while trying to save the life of another project member. He raised a son Kyle, who was in actuality a genetic clone of himself that he created, while working on very important research he dedicated his life to. Doctor Klim and Kyle lived normally together, until one day Kyle asked his father if he could have a mother. Doctor Klim, taking the young boy’s request literally, agreed and created a robot to act as Kyle’s mother. This robot is GTF-DM-L-016, but her shorter name was Luna.

Luna, while appearing very human, is actually a robot known as a GAULEM (General-purpose Autonomous Labor Electronic Machine) who was implanted with ABT (Artificial Biological Tissue) and modeled to look like a human woman in her mid 20s. While she was originally made to be Kyle’s mother, he ultimately rejected her out of hatred for his father and regarded her as a programmed machine. Luna was said to be sad by his rejection, even possibly cry about it. But she was still utilized as an assistant to Doctor Klim and later to his supervisor, a woman named Akane Kurashiki. She in particular grew very close to Akane and respected her deeply for her wisdom and determination. The music box she wears around her neck was a present from the woman, as a message Luna interpreted as “happiness is closer than you think” and one that she always carries with her. However time passed and the culmination of Doctor Klim’s research was finally to be executed in a project known as The Nonary Game, set to begin on January 2074.

This is where it gets complicated. The setting of Zero Escape is one that acknowledges two things. One: that espers or rather psychics exist and that anyone has the potential to be one, depending on certain factors. Two: that there are multiple histories/timelines, which are created from the different choices people make in their lives. To give an example of what that means, picture a fork in the road. You can go either left or right and the existence of two decisions means that two histories exist – one where you go left and another where you go right. The research Doctor Klim had been working since the nuclear strikes occurred has to do with these multiple histories and figuring out a way to stop Radical-6 from being released completely. However to make this history a possibility two espers are required to be trained in timeline jumping via the conscious mind. This is the purpose of the Nonary Game.
nattergalen: game; portrait (We're in the belly of the beast)

[personal profile] nattergalen 2012-12-15 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Going back to the multiple histories, it is said that espers have access to a field of consciousness in which espers can send messages telepathically. This field is the Morphogenetic Field. Now while espers have this ability, there is another ability that one can be trained to use. That ability is “jumping”, which is when an esper transmits their consciousness from one timeline to another timeline across the Morphogenetic Field. Simply put, they can move their conscious mind from their body in Timeline A to their body in Timeline B. Doing this is said to be both risky and it is common for memory loss to occur during the jump, which can give the feeling of a “groundhog day” loop because the esper can’t fully remember that they transferred their conscious mind from Timeline A to Timeline B. The only way to “jump” without training is to experience an enormous shock to the system, which is when the conscious mind is suddenly free to move across the field.

The two espers to be trained are Phi, a mysterious white haired girl, and Sigma Klim. Yes Sigma Klim – one of the people participating in the Nonary Game is actually the doctor from before Radical-6 was even released into the world. This is where the jumping comes in. As Dr. Klim is the future version of Sigma and already trained in jumping, he can move his conscious mind easily through the Morphogenetic Fields. Ok maybe it might be better to bullet point this next part because it is really kind of ridiculous. IM REALLY SORRY AGAIN FOR THIS.
  • On December 25th 2028, six days before Radical-6 was released, Sigma Klim is kidnapped after being ambushed in the parking lot of his apartment complex.
  • This sudden shock causes Sigma Klim’s conscious mind to cross the Morphogenetic Field and enter the body of the elderly Dr. Klim in the year 2074. In this body Sigma goes through the events of the Nonary Game, while not realizing that his consciousness has jumped to a point in time where he is much older. The game never shows what Sigma looks like during actual gameplay and Sigma himself does not realize the truth until True End.
  • Meanwhile Doctor Klim’s consciousness jumps and enters the body of the young Sigma Klim in 2028. It is during this time that Doctor Klim becomes part of the Mars Nevada Test Site, where Radical-6 is released. He fails in his mission to prevent Radical-6 from being released.
  • After the events of True End, Sigma is once more given an enormous shock to the system when Akane Kurashiki appears to try and kill Phi. This shock causes him to jump back to his younger body on April 13th 2029. Meanwhile Dr. Klim most likely jumps to his regular body in the year 2074, though this is not seen in game.
  • In April 2029, Sigma learns that his older self (Dr. Klim) failed to stop Radical-6 from being released and lost both his arms and eye the events that happened. However Sigma, who had not experienced what happened at the Nevada Test Site, does not know what happened exactly. From this point Sigma dedicates himself to conducting the Nonary Game research and becomes Doctor Sigma Klim. He conducts his research up until 2074, which is when we go back to Bulletpoint Two.
  • Sigma, now Dr. Klim, goes back in the year 2028 in his younger body in order to enter the test site. His goal is to stop Radical-6 from being released. Should he fail, everything reloops again starting from the 2nd bullet point. The goal is for him to succeed at preventing Radical-6 from escaping.

OK now that all of that is taken care of, I will talk about Luna’s part in the game. Specifically coming from Sigma End.

Luna, as one of the assistants to Akane and Dr. Klim, is fully aware of their plans and was ordered before the beginning of the game to act as if she was kidnapped like everyone else and not reveal their plans to everyone. Due to the way the timelines and histories work, Luna telling anybody the truth could create another history that will not successfully lead to the point in time where Sigma jumps to his body in April 2029. However it came at a price – Akane’s life. In the game there is a man by the name of Dio, who sneaks into the facility and kills Akane. Granted this does not always happen: there are certain histories where he is thwarted by Phi and Sigma, who wake up earlier than anyone else, and Akane does in fact survive. Sigma End is one of the histories where this occurs, though Phi and Sigma later have no recollection of saving Akane. Their conscious mind is forced out and are made to jump to the point in the timeline where Sigma’s consciousness is sent back to April 2029, as detailed in the bullet points. In any case, Akane lives and disguises herself as an amnesiac named K by taking his robotic suit and hiding in it. K is actually Kyle Klim, but he was administered a large dose of anesthetic and became a temporary amnesiac as a result and has no recollection of his memories. She has no problem pretending to be him, seeing as nobody even knows who he is, and the real K is put in a chamber that keeps his body frozen so he cannot wake up during the events of the game.

The game begins when everyone has woken up and gotten out of their chambers, Luna included after her body was activated. Zero the Third, the AI moderating the game in place of Dr. Klim and Akane, informs everyone about their situation. In short they are trapped in a warehouse and are playing the Nonary Game, which involves solving a series of room puzzles in order get keycards for the AB game. In order to escape they need to bump the number on their bracelet from 3 to 9. They bump it up by going through Chromatic Doors in groups of three, solving the puzzle inside the room, and then playing the AB game.

Luna goes with Dio and Quark through the Yellow Door, which leads to the infirmary. After getting out of the Chromatic doors they went through (Sigma went with Phi and Alice in this history) everyone plays the AB Game. The AB Game is basically the Prisoner Dilemma game and Luna is made to compete with Dio and Quark, who are paired together according to their bracelets. If she votes Ally and they Betray, she loses 2 points and they gain 3. If they all vote Ally then the three get 2 points. If they all vote Betray then they gain no points, but don’t lose points. Dio, Quark and Luna all ally with one another and Luna’s number goes from 3 to 5. Sigma and Phi betray Alice, while she allies with them, so Sigma and Phi's points go up to 6 and Alice's down to 1. Before everyone goes through the next set of doors, the group finds a bomb planted in the Crew Quarters labeled "3". A bomb strong enough to destroy the facility and kill everyone within it. But with no way to deactivate it, they continued to go through the doors.

In the next set of doors Sigma goes with Luna and Clover into the archives. Nothing of note happens in there other than solving the puzzle. It is what happens afterward that becomes bewildering.

Before the second round of the AB Game, Quark and Alice both begin to show outward signs of being infected with Radical-6. Quark collapses and then upon awakening attempts suicide, before he is subdued with an anesthetic Luna administers. Luna is said here to have a nursing license, though it’s likely that it is a lie because she never left the facility since she was created. She stills knows all about the medical equipment however and even that the only way to treat Radical-9 is Axelavir, which nobody has found in the rooms they went to. Alice suddenly reacts similarly, running away with a scalpel in her hands and saying how she too wants to die. Sigma goes to look in the Garden for her, but fails to find her there. He does find her eventually in the Crew Quarters, but she has already killed herself by that point. The large shock to his system however is enough for Sigma’s consciousness to suddenly jump to the point in the timeline before he decided to search for Alice in the Garden. As a result he gets another chance, thanks to being thrown to a turning point in recent history and this time remembering where Alice is because he witnessed a history where she died in.

Sigma rushes to find her in the Crew Quarters and finds her still alive. He and Alice have a short fight over the scalpel, before he knocks it out of her hands and she falls unconscious. She is taken back to the infirmary and everyone goes to play the AB Game without them, as Dio activated the game before the two people succumbed to the virus and now they have to play it before their time runs out (once the AB game is active everyone has 45 minutes to get in the elevator and enter their vote. if not even one person of the three competitors vote then all of them are penalized with death)

Inside the AB room with Luna, Sigma discovers that his hand was cut in his fight with Alice. But instead of red blood, he has an unnatural white colored blood. Luna, while visibly concerned and asking what happened to him, is talked out of worrying for the time being. Sigma votes to Ally with Clover and to Luna’s great joy it turns out everyone voted ally in that round, which is what she had wanted to see since the start of the game. Before everyone goes through the third set of doors however Luna takes Sigma to the garden room (which was open because another group went through it during the 2nd set of doors) and talks to him. There she tells him about how she received the music box from someone she admired (Akane) and mentions the story of Maeterlink’s Bluebird and refers to Sigma as the boy Tylty. Luna also confesses that she feels very lonely and admits her shy nature, but feels hope with the bluebird as a sign of happiness always being somewhere in reach.

But there is more than that. This is the point in time where Luna reveals to him that she knows he is an esper who can remember past events that never should of happened. Before their conversation Sigma mentioned that he came into the Garden to look for Alice, even though he also said he immediately went to the Crew Quarters and found Alice there without checking any place else. This obvious discrepancy in what he says occurs to him as well, but he says he cannot fully grasp how both things are true. Luna naturally knows the whole truth, given her affiliation with Akane Kurashiki and Dr. Klim, but does not reveal it to him and makes herself look like an unaware bystander.

She then asks him if he is a robot, as the white blood on his hand is common with ABT tissue in robots, and offers to run a test scan on him with the infirmary equipment to see if he shows proper human vital signs. During this time she also says that she trusts Sigma, because she does not believe he would ever cause harm to anyone and would follow the Three Laws of Robotics (which will be later discussed) if he was a robot. Again, she knows that he isn’t a robot, but she has to play the role of a clueless bystander in order to make sure she doesn’t deviate from the history that exists. This was part of her instructions given by Akane Kurashiki and Dr. Klim.

However their conversation is cut short when Phi enters the garden and finds a bomb stuck to a tree inside of it. The three of them go to the infirmary, where everyone else is waiting, and tell them about the bomb. Phi states that she wants to search everyone, as the person who planted the bombs likely has something on them which they can use to deactivate the bombs if need be. Sigma then announces that he knows who planted the bombs. Using vague memories he gained and recalled from previous jumps across the morphogenetic field, he concludes that Dio is the one who planted the bombs. Dio, after being grilled on it, confesses that he did plant the bombs but says he has no way of deactivating them. He does however have a detonator that would instantly detonate all the bombs planted, which would destroy the Rhizome 9 facility and everyone inside it. Feeling cocky, Dio tells them the password to Bomb 02 – a bomb that they had not yet the discovered the location of.

Tenmyouji, in a fit of anger, attacks Dio and knocks the detonator out of his hand. The detonator however has a failsafe mechanism, which triggers if it is a meter away from Dio’s possession. It activates the bombs and sets them to explode within half an hour. The group manages to restrain and knock Dio out afterward, but now with no way to deactivate the bombs they can only wait for certain death.

Before the bombs explode, Luna offers to do the testing on Sigma. As she knows about his ability as an esper and that he can jump through timelines, she knows that he may be able to retain the memories that he forms in this history. Luna confirms that Sigma’s arms are cybernetic, but he himself is a human. Sigma, while relieved, becomes scared at how calm Luna is over the fact that they are about to die. He even remarks that her expression seemed robotic. She then tells him that she was given specific instructions.

“Should you encounter a two-headed lion devouring the sun, remember: GTM-DM-L-016. With this key, the first gate shall be open to you.”

Telling him that she will be waiting for him, while smiling kindly at him, the facility explodes and kills everyone. It turns out that she does end up waiting for him – only in another history, the Luna End of the game. AS A NOTE Luna has no memory of what happens in Luna End because she isn't an esper who can recall timelines. However I will be making mention of it in the personality section, as it is the canon point that reveals the most about Luna. So let me briefly summarize what happens.

LUNA END (the abridged version):

Again, Luna is not an esper and does not experience nor remember this history. But since I will be referencing it in the personality section I just want to quickly outline what happens.

-Akane dies in this timeline and her corpse is found by Sigma and Phi before they play Round 1 of the AB Game.

-In this route Sigma is always in a three-way group with Luna in some way. He goes through the Magenta Door with Phi as his partner and Luna as the solo, the Green Door with Alice as his partner and Luna as the solo and finally with Phi through the white door (Luna was "dead" by then, but she was still the Solo in their group)

-In between going through these doors, a number of people were mysteriously killed. Alice committed suicide before the 2nd AB game, as she wasn't saved by Sigma in this route, and Luna was injected with a muscle relaxant later on by Clover (who believed Luna killed Alice) that would kill any regular human injected with it. She had her body shut off by Zero III to give the illusion that she died. In addition to this, Quark went missing and no one knows where he is. Clover and Tenmyouji as well went missing just before everyone was supposed to go through the 3rd set of doors. In the end only Phi, Sigma, Dio and K went through the doors. Phi and Sigma used Luna's bracelet (it fell off when Luna's body shut down) and Dio and K used Alice's bracelet (which also fell off when she died) in order to go through their doors.

-Phi and Sigma's final room together was the Security Room, where they got access to all the cameras in the facility. They rewound the tapes in the Crew Quarters and made the inference that Clover killed Luna (they were in a blindspot of the camera's view when fighting). When they left the Security Room to investigate the building once more, they find Clover and Tenmyouji handcuffed to a sink in the infirmary. The two were already dead because they never went through the White Doors and were penalized for it. Continuing their investigation they then came across Dio and K in the Rec Room - Dio impaled with a spear and K with an axe in his head.

-After that they went to the Director's Room, one of the other areas behind the white door. Dio and K explored it before their sudden, so Phi and Sigma thought they could get some clues about what happened. In the room there was a computer showing an image of a Two-Headed Lion devouring the sun. Sigma recalled the two passwords that K gave (in K end) and Luna gave (in Sigma End) using his dormant esper abilities and accessed the computer.

-Using these passwords on the computer in the Director's Room, Phi and Sigma find out that Luna is actually a robot created by Zero Senior (who is actually Dr. Klim, though neither of them know this). and was ordered to participate in the Nonary Game. From this Phi deduces that Luna is the person who killed everyone and labels her a traitor. As Luna is their next competitor in the AB Game, they plan to Betray her and leave the facility as they would both have 10 BP afterward. Sigma leaves Luna's bracelet outside the elevator chamber (the system wouldn't allow it to be inside the room) and they begin to play.

-As the AB Game is about to begin and Sigma activates their chamber, they realize Luna is outside the elevator staring at them. This confirms their suspicions that Luna faked dying and plans to Betray them to get more BP. However the doors close before they can rush out to Luna, trapping them inside the chamber until they finish the game. Phi advises Sigma to pick Betray so that their BP won't plummet, but Sigma refuses and Allies with Luna.

-When the AB results are displayed it turns out that Luna never even went to vote, her bracelet still outside the door to Sigma's chamber. This means her vote defaulted to Ally, giving Sigma and Phi 9 BP points, enough to leave the facility. They then search the open rooms and find Quark in the Treatment Center, still alive, and take him out of the pod so that he can leave the facility as well (his bracelet was taken off so he didn't need to worry about getting injected with poison for leaving when he didn't have enough points)

-Phi and Sigma, carrying Quark, open the Number 9 door to escape. But before the 9 Door closes, Sigma rushes back into the facility because he wants to speak with Luna. Only Phi and an unconscious Quark escape.

-Sigma then goes to the Garden, where he remembers speaking to Luna once before in Sigma End, and speaks with her. He explains why he doesn't think she murdered anyone and that it was Dio who did everything. She confirms his theories and openly admits that she is a GAULEM. She speaks about how after seeing Tenmyouji, Clover and K die without doing anything (when her body was deactivated her core consciousness returned to the mainframe and she could see everything that happened through the security cameras), she felt an incredible guilt and wanted to help Phi and Sigma. That is why she hacked Zero III's systems and rebooted her body, so that she could make sure they would get enough points to escape. However, everything she did was at a cost. As Zero III begins to reboot himself, Luna's core processors are being destroyed and she is nearing what is essentially her death. As well as that, the poison that Clover administered into Luna's robotic body is destroying her artificial tissues. Luna literally falls apart into pieces, her skin peeling and her hair falling out at a quick rate, but before she dies she thanks Sigma for trusting her and calls him "Doctor".

Personality:

For a robot, it is a shocking how human Luna comes off. Not only by appearance, but by the way she reacts to her environment and to the actions of others. When someone does something good, she smiles and is clearly happy from the tone of her words. When someone does something bad, she becomes upset and is even said to cry at times. She can be shocked, angered, determined and displays startling bouts of humanity and altruism compared to the actual humans. Her general behavior is summed up as shy and almost sheltered, which makes sense given she has never had much option in the way of social interaction besides Dr. Klim and Akane Kurashiki, two very eccentric individuals. When someone Betrays her she can only tearfully ask why they did it and what she did wrong to deserve betrayal, taking it personally that there are people who don't want to ally in order to make a quicker escape for everyone to leave. It is vital to note that in a game of trust and betrayal, Luna never picks to Betray. No matter what timeline or person/pair she is up against, she is the only character to always pick Ally and that includes the protagonist. It can be theorized that she only does this out of programming, but that doesn't make sense given her actions and her decision in Luna End to go against her orders. She has functioning free will and is not bound by orders, but chooses to follow them.

She sincerely wants everyone to escape and have trust, knowing that everyone’s fear of one another is what is driving them apart. She is also the only character to continuously bring up that if everyone cooperates and picks Ally together, then all of them could escape after playing three rounds of the game. There are times where she is Betrayed herself, but only looks disheartened at the betrayal. Unless that is if it comes from Sigma, who she especially takes personally if he Betrays her. Not surprising, considering she knows that he is the future Dr. Klim who created her and is even in the body of the elderly doctor during the game. However, the only time she ever truly begrudges someone for picking to Betray her is the bad end of her route where, if Sigma picks to Betray her, she leaves the facility with an unconscious Quark. There are no tears shed, nor even a goodbye - she simply leaves Sigma and Phi trapped in the facility without any means of escape and it is implied that she would never return to rescue them. Even then it is implied that she did not leave him stranded inside the facility out of anger, but out of sorrow that he did not trust her. At the same time Luna remarks in the good ending of her path that Sigma has every reason to not trust her, after discovering that she is a robot who lives inside the facility. Therefore it is reasonable to say that she left in the bad ending of Luna End not out of hatred, but out of irrational sadness. That even when she understood Sigma’s reasons for not trusting her, she could not forgive him for choosing to Betray her. For being revealed late in the game to be a robot, she never gives anyone a reason to think she is anything but human and does not trick anyone purposefully because she is so incredibly human-like in appearance and emotional response. She is incredibly realistic in her genuine displays of emotion that no one would expect an autonomous machine to be capable of.

The reason for Luna’s complex capability of displaying emotion is because she is a robot, programmed under the Three Laws of Robotics. These laws are taken from science fiction writer Isaac Asimov and are described the same way in the game as they are in real life.

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.

Luna describes these laws to Sigma in both Luna End and Sigma End, stating that any robot that does not operate under these laws is no better than a piece of metal. She earnestly believes that a proper robot must cooperate with the ones who made them and never work against them. That any sort of machine or robotic AI that goes against humanity is not a true robot, but a tool to be used for nefarious purposes. This contributes much to her stance on never choosing to Betray anyone, because Betraying someone means to put their life in danger (as if a person's BP points fall to 0, the bracelets inject them with anesthetic and muscle relaxant to give them a quiet death). It also comes back to a moment in her own path, where she is attacked by Clover and does not ever harm her physically. The only time she ever shows small signs of aggression is when she injects anesthetic into Quark and Dio while they are fighting against it, but only does it in order to make sure no one is harmed.

But that doesn’t quite explain all of Luna’s functions. After all, doesn’t the First Rule seem like a contradiction in the case of Akane Kurashiki, because there are some histories where Akane is killed by Dio and Luna does nothing to stop it even though she could. Luna states she was fully capable of rescuing Akane Kurashiki from being killed by Dio, but did not save her life and that directly contradicts Rule 1 because of Rule 2 (that even though Akane ordered Luna not to interfere in Dio’s plans to kill, Rule 2 means she should disobey those orders because Akane’s life was in danger). This strange contradiction is solved neatly when it is revealed Luna was programmed with the Zeroth Rule, unbeknownst to her.

0. A robot may not harm humanity, or, by inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.

In short, while Luna thought she broke the rules by not saving Akane in certain histories, she still kept in line with her programming. Akane’s possible demise was said to be a necessary consequence of the Nonary Game’s structure, so that Sigma could properly reach the timeline he needed to so that he could be sent to April 2029. As the purpose of all of this was to make sure Radical-6 would not be released, Luna’s inaction was aiding humanity. The bigger question from this is how Luna did not realize she was programmed with this law? Wouldn’t a regular robot know how they were programmed? It once more displays how highly intelligent she is. That she believes it is ok to bend the laws of her programming if it means a greater importance exists, while not realizing that a 4th rule permits her to do so. She doesn't break the rules because of the 4th law, but does it because she feels like sometimes she has to take extreme actions even when her orders tell her to not. This not only happens in the case of Akane, but in the case of Luna End. In Luna End she went against her orders to feign death after realizing her inaction led to the deaths of Clover, Tenmyouji, K and even Dio (who she doesn't like, but would never want to see harmed either).

Of course that is not to say Luna is perfect in all her mechanisms. There are a couple of times Sigma’s narration regards her as almost robotic, mostly when it comes to her lack of many reactions. In Sigma End she is noted in particular to not even be fearful that the bomb is about to explode and kill everyone, only calmly stating that their time is close to being up. She actually seems to be more hopeful than afraid, even though everyone in the facility is about to die from the explosion of the bombs. There are also times where she seems to be incredibly knowledgeable, more so than the average person, and can explain certain concepts very clearly and without much hesitation. Like when explaining Radical-6 to everyone else after Quark’s infection, she speaks of it in a matter of fact tone and without panic, even though she is describing a virus that causes invasive suicidal thoughts. This could be attributed to her acknowledgment of different histories existing. If that is the case, it only becomes more disturbing. That she is ok with dying because she knows that the history she dies in is not the one where Dr. Klim’s and Akane Kurashiki’s plans come to fruition. So it is ok that she dies, because there is a better future waiting out there someplace. It is nothing human-like at all, which only serves as a staunch reminder that she is a robot and programmed to act human. There are many strange things in the Zero Escape universe, but robots cannot just become humans and Luna, for all her humanity, is but a robot programmed to have advanced emotional responses.

It feeds back into what she believes the message of the music box she was given is. That “happiness is always close by” and she only has to wait for it to come into reach. But that even should the caged bird leave, it only means that happiness is something to be searched for and not to be kept forever (which is how she interprets the ending of Materlink’s Bluebird, where the captured bird representing happiness flies away and the main boy Tyltyl vows to find it again). She describes herself to Sigma as shy, not having many friends and how she has felt lonely because of it. It is not really her fault so much as it is a fault of her environment and her orders. Luna is a passive bystander who does not seek happiness, but knows that it is somewhere waiting for her, whereas she compares Sigma to one of the main characters who goes after the bluebird that represents happiness. The only time she seems genuinely sad that she is about to die is in Luna End, where her human exoskeleton is breaking apart piece by piece and she can only wait for a certain end. Any other history where she dies she accepts it, even a faked one in timelines where she is “killed” (supposedly by Clover, though it never explicitly stated outside of Luna End) and does not reboot herself (again, Luna End is the only time when this happens). She is always looking for something better by encouraging it through passive means (like telling everyone to ally and not betray) and yet is not capable of remembering different histories she experienced like the espers (Sigma and Phi) do. So without remembering any of the other possible histories/routes, Luna is still always hoping for the same thing and yet never actively seeks it out herself until Luna End, which ends with her being destroyed for her actions. It is ironic considering the Laws of Robotics operates under the belief that robots should aid humanity in an active way and not passively allowing things to occur as they do without intervention, but Luna herself is a very passive character in regards to her actions in the game and that her only display of active actions lead to her demise.

The take all from this is that Luna is genuine in her display of humanity, despite not being human at the same time. Someone might suspect her kindness and passive nature is an act, because truly no one can be so altruistic and caring about others more than themselves, but it is not an act so much as it is how she was programmed to be. The Laws of Robotics is fitting for Luna’s programming, because its main idea is that the concept of humanity is abstract and that robots can be programmed to act just like humans do under the laws and benefit other humans. The game even discusses this during Luna's route, with another GAULEM called G-OLM explaining that a robot is not much different from a human because robots are able to "feel" emotions through way of cause and effect reactions (like the robot having aching shoulders because their body is severely outdated due to lacking maintenance checks). Luna is not a human of course and is aware that her personality and behavior was originally programmed, but she herself does not think that she is just metal put together and code written by a scientist. She is functioning in all capacities, has free will to disobey orders and even the Laws of Robotics she was programmed with, and exists to serve others and not only herself. And really, in the end, isn’t the core basis of humanity is that everyone is in it together and no one should be against each other. If so, then Luna is as much a human as any of the other characters and at the same time not.

Abilities/Powers:
Luna is fairly below average if we’re talking about the strength and general aptitudes of a regular robot. She isn’t much stronger than a regular human, showing difficultly wrestling the injection gun out of Clover’s hands, and is virtually human like due to design. No one would likely be able to guess she wasn’t actually human, given how she was programmed to have very human reactions for the most part. So despite being a robot, Luna is more or less on par with any regular human physically.

If there is anything that her robotic body helps with, it is noted in game that she does not have to worry about regular human needs. She doesn’t get hungry or tired and can’t be affected by illness or anything injected into her as seen in game (she is the only one not infected with the Radical-6 virus and is not affected by the poisonous injections administered if someone goes below 1 BP). As well as that, her body is remarkably designed in how convincing it might be. One character attempts to revive her with CPR in a route and is not able to tell that she is a robot during the process of trying to bring her back to life (her body was deactivated during that time.)

As for other things, she is programmed to be very knowledgeable in the medical field and can even operate an ADAM scanning device (a fictional device in the game, which can be used for easy diagnosis of patients).

Items/Weapons: Her music box (a caged bluebird tied to a necklace string), the injection gun (without any vials in it to inject people with) and the AB Bracelet attached to her wrist (the number 7, her final tally in Sigma End before the bomb explodes, is lit up in a yellow color)

As a note the music box and bracelet are always on her person, the bracelet especially is locked around her wrist. I don't know if that means it counts as clothing or not because she's wearing it actively. If both items do count as clothing, then instead I would like her to bring two vials of soporil (a fictional anesthetic that can be injected with the injection gun) in place of the music box and bracelet. If I'm wrong then you can disregard this change and keep the original three I wrote out.

Sample Entry: A thread

Sample Entry Two: Haven was both comforting and frightening to Luna. The eeriness of the town reminded her of Rhizome 9 and the silence was a comforting reminder of the past. It was frightening because how lifeless it was. At least Rhizome 9 had a Garden area where vegetation and flowers could grow. Haven, on the other hand, was completely dead. Lifeless and without joy. It was truly a terrible place to awaken in after what happened in the facility.

Sometimes she would walk to the billboard above the drinking well and think on it. Everyone is safe when they are together. ...She could not deny that ideology. It was the very same one she always held. But, together in an empty place with no joy or life...it may have been safe but it was not comforting in the least. Sometimes she would wonder if this is what Earth was now like, after the outbreak of Radical-6. She never visited the planet, but saw pictures of a world in nuclear winter that would shake anyone into fear. If that was so, then she could see why her creator was so fiercely devoted to making sure it would never be released.

But, that was in the past. This is the present. She is dead and her creator's plan sent into ruin. The only small comfort she can take from it is that there are other histories and surely one of them will lead him to success. But, her role is done. That small comfort was all she had left in her existence. Haven would grant her a chance of life she could never have. ...Only if there was some life in it.

Other Characters Played: N/A
Preferred Apartment: None

Character Name: Ventus
Canon: Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
Canon Point: endgame - right as vanitas is disappearing.
Background/History: the long journey.
Personality:
Being the youngest of his band of friends, it's not surprising that Ventus is treated like a child - but don't be mistaken. Ventus possesses qualities that not many people his age would have, and certainly few can match the intensity of said qualities. Ventus is fiercely loyal to his friends, and is unable to cope when others tell him that his friends have done wrong, instead choosing to follow after his friend through the worlds to find out the truth.

His bravery speaks for itself - after regaining his memories and discovering that he is an ingredient to forging the χ-blade, Ventus is given the choice of watching his friends die or fighting his darker half and consequently merging with him to become the χ-blade, which would allow Master Xehanort to bring about the second Keyblade War. Instead of choosing either option, Ventus decides instead to not only defeat Vanitas, but to destroy both him and the χ-blade - at the price of his own life. Not many 14 year old kids can do that, let me tell you.

Still, that doesn't mean he's completely exempt from teenager behavior. Ventus is is easygoing and loves fun; he's insanely curious, poking his nose into whatever catches his attention - which is basically everything, really. Additionally, he has the attitude akin to a younger brother when interacting with Terra and Aqua - Ventus seeks to help them, but, always being turned down, sulks over it. Although he understands that his friends have good intentions, Ventus wishes to help them, claiming that he'd be of use despite age. His eagerness to help others may partially be due to his being snubbed all the time, although his kindness is genuine.

Ventus is generally full of incredibly good feelings and intentions. He's very kind, going out of his way to help anyone who might need it - he's unable to ignore people who look like they are in need, i.e. a crying girl, and perhaps his nosiness is credited to this, but he's always willing to get involved. Even when it seems like there is someone who's already helping with the problem - Pete and the ice cream machine, for example - Ventus will enter the stage and ask about the problem, offering his own assistance when it was apparent that Pete was not welcome to help. This also shows that Ventus isn't exactly pushy - he's willing to help, but he doesn't look to overwhelm people with his zeal.

As someone who's very friendly, Ventus has a mission throughout part of the game to gain new friends, so as to learn more about friendship, and does gain many friends along the way! However, it's apparent that he isn't intimately familiar with the concept of friendship; having taken Terra's and Aqua's friendship for granted, Ventus looks to find what friendship is like for other people. With that being said and noting his success with friendship, it's clear that he's easy to like and easily likes others, becoming very familiar with them very quickly. Or maybe that's just the protagonist charm. His adventure to learn about friendship makes it apparent that Ventus is a relationship-oriented person. He measures his success in life by his relationships, and it's noted that he doesn't even particularly think of his goals until a question is directly prompted to him.

It should be noted that only good things have been said about Ventus thus far, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a darker side - it's just that his negativity manifested physically to make up Vanitas. Ventus is made of 100% pure light, instead of a balance of darkness and light, and therefore, without the presence of Vanitas, he would likely be unable to feel real anger. Fortunately, as Vanitas is also joining Haven, Ventus is able to feel negative emotions, due to the connection he and Vanitas have. It works vice versa as well - Vanitas is able to feel a shadow of positive emotions through Ventus. Additionally, this means that when Ventus feels hurt or is in pain, then Vanitas will grow stronger and gain more strength to overwhelm Ventus. This was apparent in the Birth By Sleep novel, as Vanitas was so overwhelming on Ventus's heart in the beginning that the latter passed out just by being in the same presence. Ventus himself doesn't know about that, yet, though.

All in all, Ventus is braver than most teenagers his age and he's defined by his kindness; not only that, but he is unnaturally pure - not that it's a problem beyond basic existential issues that were fixed at the beginning of the game. He's basically your archetypal Messiah-protagonist.

Abilities/Powers:
‣ handling the keyblade (an item that is primarily used for OPENING DOORS and also fighting, as it's both a "key" and a "blade". keyblade wielders usually have at least one keyblade, and ventus has multiple - although he cannot summon them all at the same time, and in the duration of one fight, he cannot switch out his keyblades.)
‣ magic: basic healing and elemental magic. simply put: healing scrapes/wounds/burns of a minor degree as well as lighting, fire, and ice magic.
‣ physical: acrobatic, able to maneuver running on barrels/balls, gliding in the air for brief periods of time.
‣ armor: when he touches the piece of armor on his shoulder, ventus becomes fully clad in armor. additionally, he is able to use a metallic hoverboard for transportation - usually to get to other worlds, but in this case, it is de-powered enough that he cannot leave Haven. It works as a good alternative to the bus system, though.

Items/Weapons:
‣ his wayfinder - a good luck charm made by one of his best friends.
‣ two health potions.

Sample Entry:
[ The feed comes on with a loud tap as the blonde boy fidgets with the device. ] -- turn it on? Maybe this button.. [ the feed cuts short.

a few moments later, it turns back on again, and Ventus is grinning triumphantly. ]

So that's how you do it! [ after a pause, he lifts one hand from the communicator, leaving it at a slanted angle as he waves. ]

Hi! I'm looking for some people. A guy with brown hair, wearing clothes that are similar to mine, and about ye tall -- [ As he moves his hand, the camera tilts again, showing - not the hand that roughly judged his companion's height, but Ventus's face. After adjusting the angle a few times, the indicated height comes into display, and no more than a second after does he drop the hand. ] His name's Terra.

Oh, and I'm also looking for a girl. She's got short blue hair and she's this tall. [ Ventus moves his hand again, the feed being more acutely adjusted this time. ] Her name's Aqua.

They're both my friends. If you've seen them, please let me know. Uh... somehow. [ He frowns a bit, bemused, before tapping at his device. ] Just, uh. Let me know on here, I guess? And -- I'm Ventus. Call me Ven, everyone does.

If you see Terra or Aqua, then let them know that I'm looking for them! Thanks!

Sample Entry Two:
Whatever it takes.

Only that thought rings through his mind as he launches his final attack, and when his victory is clear, Ventus is incredibly calm.

As he watches Vanitas struggle to reach for the χ-blade, only for it to disappear, Ventus can only feel pity for his dark counterpart. How long had he been out - incomplete, for having been forcefully removed? Surely, being the embodiment of his negativity, Vanitas must have no choice but to act that way, especially when guided by Master Xehanort. He wishes that this ordeal never happened in the first place - then, he wouldn't have to see such an expression of defeat on his darker counterpart's face. But then again, it's too late, isn't it? Ventus doesn't feel very sad about it - what's done is done, and actions have consequences; if this whole debacle hadn't occurred, then he wouldn't have met Terra or Aqua, and when Ventus thinks of it like that, he's a little grateful to Master Xehanort.

Only a little though, but the rest of what he feels is calm, and the end of the world has never felt quite so peaceful.

It's not the end of the world, of course - just the end of him, he knows. As Vanitas disappears in the scattering light, Ventus wonders vaguely if that's what will happen to him as well, and strangely, he's all right with it. It's not as if he's not afraid - no, Ventus can still feel the fear that coursed through his veins since he learned the truth of himself, the sinking feeling that, no matter which way this ends, he would perish. But overwhelming that fear is the power of his resolution, strengthened by the existence of his friends. He may disappear, may no longer exist, but Terra and Aqua will live on - and that's all he needs. Ventus wonders what they'll do without him now; he hopes that Terra is all right, but with the disappearance of the χ-blade, Ventus is pretty sure that everything else will probably be a piece of cake. Aqua's there, after all, and if Terra succumbs to the darkness - which, Ventus has faith he won't do - Aqua will be there to help him.

Not him, though. He'll be gone, he's already disappearing, he knows, when he sees Vanitas's remaining lights disappear into his heart's surface to light up the entire platform. And he's still calm about it, too - it's all right. Everything will be all right, even if he's gone (even if he doesn't want to die, he wants to stay with Terra and Aqua; he made so many friends and the trio only just got back together, and he wants to stay but he can't, he made sure of that - and he's okay with it, because it's saving all of those friends that he made, saving everyone even though they don't know of it).

Ventus glances at the surface of his stained-glass heart, noting the disappearance of his darker counterpart, and, smiling, closes his eyes and waits for himself to disappear.

Personality:

Vanitas is a selfish person full of dark emotions. Anger, hatred, regards others with contempt, and treats them ruthlessly. However, he didn't start out that way. Originally, Vanitas was much like Ventus-- the person he was once apart of. It was all the pain and suffering, the negative energy he gave off, that caused him to become that way. It doesn't help that Xehanort was completely manipulating his feelings from the very start, feeding his rage, hatred, and loneliness until it devoured Vanitas as a whole. Making him fight past his limits, leaving him all by himself when he felt desperate, telling him to hate everything. Slowly, his personality warped from one a little similar to Ventus' own, into what it is now. The cruel, angry child who hates everything that Ventus is and the world as a whole.

Yet he's always being drawn to him, to his light. At the same time, Vanitas feels the need to harm and kill Ventus( and everyone else). When it comes to Ventus, Vanitas is constantly contradicting himself. He wants to be one with him, he wants to strangle him, he wants to make him stronger, he wants to watch him suffer. He hates him and Terra and Aqua, his friends. Yet he feels terrible whenever he's away from Ventus. It's desperation that keeps him coming back, that gives him the goal of becoming the χ-blade. Because if he can create the χ-blade with Ventus, then he and Ventus will be together as one once more, and there won't be all of this conflict within himself.

He's constantly suffering under the weight of his emotions, and the negativity that comes up with that, but Vanitas rarely ever shows it. He puts on a face, looks down at others, and does what he has to. His sense of loyalty is also warped-- supposedly, he serves under Master Xehanort yet goes against the other's will often enough. Once, almost killing Ventus, and again, attacking Aqua with the intentions of killing her. He acts arrogantly, threatens other's lives to manipulate Ventus into doing as he pleased with a smile on his face, enjoying even the thought of being able to do it because chances are, it's going to hurt Ventus.

As far as he's concerned, becoming the χ-blade is the most important thing. Being something other than the pure darkness he is-- that's what Vanitas strives for. He hates his fate, he hates being apart from Ventus, he hates the fact that just having all these feelings of hate bring about the Unversed, creatures formed just from his negativity. Hates them enough to destroy them, enough to deal with the pain that comes from destroying them and dealing with the negativity of their beings flowing right back into him.

Weakness on himself is horrifying, disgusting, something that needs to be destroyed and tossed to the side. His weakness over being attached to Ventus, especially. Not that it stops him from latching onto the thought of being one with him again. Weaknesses on others? Something to be manipulated, used to his advantage, to be laughed at and used to torment those people. He's not above using whatever he can learn to his advantage.

Being made of pure darkness-- his view of the world is rather dark, too. Nothing is right with himself, nothing is right with his surroundings, he hates this, hates that, feels like destroying this, doesn't want that, wishes he could be this. He feels lonely, constantly. Without being joined together with Ventus, there's not really anything in this world for him. Without his light, what's the point in everything else? What's the point of living in a world full of negativity, where nothing ever feels right?

Basically, Vanitas is a person who's full of negative emotions, hates his own weaknesses, and doesn't know how to properly deal with any of it. But he'll act as impermeable and malicious as he wants despite this.

Abilities/Powers: Every time he felt something, an Unversed would come into existence.

Unversed.
The Unversed are literally an extension of Vanitas’ self, his emotions in physical form, and they’re completely unintentional. Vanitas himself expresses hatred for them, and will destroy them himself at times. However, he also tends to spawn a lot of them. They were the main opponents the protagonists of Birth by Sleep had to face, and there were many of them scattered over every world they went to, ranging in skills and strengths. Because of this, I’d like to restrict his ability to create Unversed, if it’s okay! They come into existence to feel out his feelings for him, and so -- there can be quite a few. Instead of an Unversed for every emotion he feels ( and considering this is a horror game, I suspect he will have quite a few terrible, terrible feelings over the span of his stay ), having weaker leveled Unversed form for the most extreme of emotions will probably be easier to play out! He won’t use these to attack others often, but they do like to create mischief themselves.
The Unversed do cause him physical pain each time they’re destroyed, as if it’s a piece of himself being torn apart -- because they are a piece of him. He can absorb them back into himself at will ( which can also be painful ), and can give them orders from any distance. They’re an extension of himself, even if he hates to treat them as such!
Ventus
Vanitas can sense what goes on in Ventus' heart, to a certain extent. Getting a slightly warm feeling when Ventus is happy, feeling sad and hurt when Ventus feels them because of how they're linked together.
Physical.
Vanitas is very strong, can endure a lot of pain, and can normally get up no matter how many hits are thrown at him, shrugging off any battle damage as nothing at all. He’s fast enough to seemingly freeze time, appearing behind an opponent after leaving a shadow of himself in front of them to distract them, and can quickly throw off counter attack after counter attack.
Keyblade.
Vanitas wields his own keyblade, Void Gear. Keyblades can be used to unlock any kind of door, and are useful in battle -- as their name “key” “blade” suggests. They also assist with using magic.
Magic.
Like his counter part, Vanitas can use magic -- although his magic is on the opposite side of the scale of Ventus’ own. Vanitas’ magic is dark, not light. He can’t use it to heal, but he can use it to destroy. He’s seen using fire and lightning spells in the game, and can also fire off dark balls of magic from his keyblade.

Items/Weapons: Vanitas won’t be arriving with anything on him! His only weapon is summoned from his heart ( pretty much ), and he doesn’t have anything else.

Sample Entry: here!

Sample Entry Two:

Vanitas always felt half-empty, incomplete, unable to be whole- but now, the only thing that's left is nothing, and he feels it. The complete nothing of fading away into the background, of having his body destroyed and then what there was of a heart inside of him broken, by Ventus. The χ-blade shatters right in front of him, after he spent what felt like forever desperately reaching his fingers out, trying to grab onto it and salvage what was left of his life, fight Ventus ( the idiot ), merge together with him completely, become something instead of half of nothing, feel what it's like to have a whole heart instead of one filled with only darkness.

It's all over now. All the effort spent making Ventus stronger, worthy to become half of him, to become the χ-blade. Those four years spent spreading the Unversed across the realms, showing up in Ventus' room and telling him how Terra was going to change, fighting against all three of those idiots and watching them grow. He wants to hate himself for it, all that time wasted-- but it's not as if he could have done anything else. He's half of a whole, half a heart- and the darkest of halves at that.

There's nothing he could have done except sought blindly for this person above him. Fought for what was owed of him. His eyelids slide shut as he falls back, feels his entire being fade back into the darkness. Nothing went as he had planned, and it irritates him. He's failed and how could he have?

He wants to destroy Ventus. He wants to be the person who puts that stupid light out, and how easy it should be, to reach up and break what was left of him. But he's breaking himself, Ventus won't last that much longer, either. Useless. Ventus doesn't deserve that, anyway. He deserves to fade away, all alone, after Vanitas is gone. He's better off without him, has gotten nothing but trouble because of Ventus.

Small shards of light start breaking off of his body, and he knows there's nothing left. Eyes closed, what's left of his limbs hanging in air, and body falling back, back into the darkness.

Ventus isn't getting a happy ending either. There's the slightest twitch at the corner of his lips at the thought. The slightest of smirks, before everything fades away.

Personality:

Ellis has an optimistic view of life during a very large portion of the game, and is rather excited about things that he shouldn't really be excited about-- such as when the zombie apocalypse hits the US at first; he saw the whole thing as the world's biggest shooting range. A giant dare that was made for him to eagerly take on and impress those around him-- well, at least until he started getting tired or running left to right and almost being killed everyday. Being 23 years old, Ellis is the youngest of the survivors in his group of four-- you'd think he'd be at least a little mature, especially with his life on the line. Well, about that! The young man might as well be a five year old wielding a gun and knowledge of many many curse words. He's silly, reckless, and his own personal idea of being "indestructible" certainly gets him into more trouble than needed or wanted. He also often becomes extremely animated over very small things ( such as cotton candy, amusement rides, and "Kiddy Land" ), and of course:

"I ever tell you about the time Keith made sushi? Yeah, his mom took him to a sushi place for his birthday and he didn't want to go, but he turned out he LOVED it, man. But it's like 10 bucks a su-sho in one of them places, so Keith figures, "Hey, how hard can it be to roll up some raw food in seaweed," right? As it turns out, it's hard. Now, they say that experience is the best teacher, and experience taught Keith that if you ever eat three pounds of raw chicken, it kills you. Now luckily, Keith's brain went into self-defense mode and started shutting organs down to head the chicken off at the pass, and the doctors were able to get 'em out before his heart stopped. But to this day, Keith has no sensation in his right foot, and doesn't recognize his own brother Paul no more."

-- as you see from the above, he doesn't quite know when to put the breaks on his tongue.

His mouth is something like a motor, sticking the keys into the ignition and gearing up the engine at some of the most inappropriate times. Most of the time, he's rambling about his best friend Keith and their shenanigans, telling stories about how the guy nearly kills himself while performing stupid stunts or getting into trouble. The stories Ellis comes up with are countless, sometimes even unreal, and probably go on for who know's how long unless he's told to stop. It is speculated that "Keith" is merely an imaginary friend of Ellis'-- that or he is real, but the stories are way over exaggerated, seeing as the situations described should've killed Keith in multiple scenarios. At least, according to Ellis, he was one of the first people to get a helicopter ride to safety.

Even if Ellis could be idiotic, a tiny bit misinformed ( to the point that he would seem just a tad stupid ), childish, or have the tendency to talk way too much at times, he's actually the most well mannered out of his group, and always looks out for them (while they make sure he stays out of trouble). His lighthearted fervor allows him to charge through tough situations and take them head on, while still being able to maintain that upbeat outlook.

Nick: "If you call it a whirlybird one more time, I will beat you so bad, your sister is gonna wish she never gave birth to you."
Ellis: "I can call it what I like, fancy-suit."

Ellis was indeed taught manners when growing up, which explains his politeness to the survivors, even when insulted sometimes ( as you see from the quote above-- after being called an inbred, he didn't retaliate at all ). He's good-natured; Even his most aggressive lines in- game end up sounding humorous, failing to express his anger the way he had intended to.

Abilities/Powers: no powers-- Ellis is plain and human! although, his natural abilities span from car mechanics and auto repair, a bit of karate, and having a swell knack at shooting with a variety of different firearms.

Items/Weapons:

- 1 fully loaded combat shotgun
- 1 crowbar
- 1 health pack

Sample Entry:

[ a voice call begins with a silence still lingering, along with quiet intakes of breath against the speaker. they weren't heavy-- though the gap of silence could only mean one was in thought. ]

oh--
Hello?

[ or maybe just didn't notice the 'call' went through. finally! his voice sounds a bit more excited; now, a little louder this time, he clears his throat. ]

.... Heeeeeeello?

[ a pause ]

Look-- Y'all? Hehe Ohkay, y'got me good, guys. Y'got me. Really. But this is gettin' kinda freaky. For one I ain't seen a clean bed in forever, and--

. . . Anyone?

[ a disappointed sigh is breathed into the phone's speaker after a few seconds of no response, the sound of fabric brushing against it as he lowers his arm to his side. ]

Hell, c'mon.

Sample Entry Two:

All of them were on guard, each carrying a weapon and ready to defend themselves; from guns to axes-- frying pans and machetes, they were ready to face the hordes of infected to come, just beyond the safe house doors. Ellis was hardly ever in a state of seriousness, which often led to him either cheerfully bringing up a story, or making some well placed comments, questions-- Sometimes, at least for the other survivors, it probably felt as if they were looking after a child ( what, with questions like "Hey, Coach? Can coaches marry people?" ). There was a part of him that had seriously felt all of this was fun, just as long as his group was alive, kicking, and kicking zombie ass. A moment like this one just begged for him to single handedly break the silence! Fixing his cap, rubbing his nose, and clearing his throat, he stepped out with the rest of the group when Coach, the leader, opened the door. They were exposed now, and had to fight off whatever came running to them. Surprisingly, it wasn't too bad in this area! They weren't overwhelmed, right?

Finally, the man's lips parted to speak. He always held a level of hope that he would be heard, that his stories wouldn't go unnoticed or interrupted. And perhaps, in his mind he believed that they loved the stories. They just didn't have the time nor the concentration to give Ellis their attention is all. His tongue sets of and his mouth rolls, words piling upon words upon words, becoming a seemingly endless monologue--

Until the moment that was impossible to skip-- an interruption. Perhaps for the best, or the brunette would just continue. Another man cut in before a single extra word could leave his lips, his tone stern and obviously irritated. Hey, Howdy Do. Now is not the right time here. Off in the distance ( perhaps not too far away ) were the growls, snorts, and angry yells of a Charger. For that reason, they had to remain quiet. Being pummeled right into a wall then smashed against the ground wasn't fun, and was best avoided.

As he would always do, Ellis quickly replied with a hushed "Okay," straightening up and keeping his mouth shut for the duration of the walk. He didn't mind it much-- he would start at another time. Rounds were shot at raging zombies, a Charger was killed ( only because they found it before it found them! ) and their journey went on. It was still pretty quiet, with the exception of a few comments made by either Nick, Coach, or Rochelle . . . Well, at least until they neared a large sign printed 'Kiddy Land'. Just beyond the sign were rides made fore younger children-- but Ellis became genuinely excited, loudly stating ( with much excitement and joy in his voice );

"Holeee SHIT, guys-- Kiddy Land!!!"

He could bounce with excitement ( and if one watched closely, perhaps he was ). He wanted to go on that one-- No, that one. And play that! For a moment, the young southerner forgets they were even among a zombie apocalypse in favor of the abandoned carnival, balloons, stuffed prizes, and cotton candy machines. ( they all worked still, you know. ) How could one not excited, they had a park all to themselves!

Though, the other three either sighed or rolled their eyes, or a combination of both.

Picking up from where the TVTropes page leaves off, on December 22nd, 2028, while plotting a mission with Alice to infiltrate the Myrmidons' base, Clover and Alice are abducted by a figure with a gas mask, who uses some form of white smoke to make them pass out. There, Clover lies in cold sleep, along with Alice and Phi, for 46 long years, until she is thawed once more in January, 2074. Placed in a separate AB Room from Alice, she awakens after K has solved the puzzle inside and flees with her unconscious body.

This is where things get a bit complicated. Given Sigma and Phi's ability to send their consciousness through time, the game branches off at this point into many, secular paths, each leading to their own endings. For conciseness's sake, I'll detail each of the major endings and Clover's involvement.

Luna's Ending → Clover goes with K and Alice through the yellow door. They end up in the infirmary and solve the puzzle there, then reunite with the other 6 at the elevator once they've finished. Right before the AB Game, an old lady is found dead in the room K and Clover supposedly started in. Clover has an alibi, as she was unconscious, but suspicion falls on her partner, K. In the AB Game, she and K betray Alice, because they figure she was going to pick betray, as well, because K could easily overpower Clover and pick betray if he wanted to. Clover and K gain 3 points, while Alice loses 2, leaving Clover at 6.

The game once again prompts you to pick a team, and Clover ends up accompanying Tenmyouji and Quark, who just moments before had fallen unconscious. After finishing, Quark goes missing, and she and Tenmyouji run back to the warehouse to find the others. Right before splitting up to look for him, Clover proclaims she's going to tell Alice, who is standing by the rightmost AB Room. When she does, it is implied Alice informs her of a discovery; blood lining the corner of the AB Room, along with a knife wrapped in a handkerchief. Alice's theory is that the woman was, in fact, murdered in the rightmost AB Room, which was then moved after they all left their respective rooms to frame K and Clover. This room would have been Luna's room. They then split up.

Eventually, after fruitless searches, Alice is found dead in one of the crew quarter rooms, stabbed in the heart with a knife. Clover runs out of the room, swearing revenge on the person who did it; in her mind, this means Luna. She becomes even more angered because of Tenmyouji's betrayal in the AB Game; he assured her he would pick ally, but said this just so that she, too, would pick ally, to raise his score from 1 and get Quark to 9. Later found in the crew quarters, she informs Sigma and Phi that she knows who killed Alice because she 'noticed something' that Alice noticed, too. This something is, of course, the knife and blood.

Clover confronts Luna in the room where Alice's body is. After ten minutes of insistent arguing, where she accused Luna over and over again and Luna swears she didn't do it over and over again, Clover pulls out an injection gun full of tubocurarine. Unintentionally, she ends up injecting Luna, 'killing' her. Mortified by her mistake, she runs to the infirmary to get the defibrillator and try to revive her. She is stopped by Dio, who accuses her of murdering Luna, then stops her from leaving and points a knife to her throat. Right then, Tenmyouji shows up. Tenmyouji lunges at him, but Dio is too quick, and he stabs him with the knife and knocks him out. He then takes a pair of handcuffs he found in the crew quarters and handcuffs the both of them to a sink. Clover and Tenmyouji are left to the sink, screaming for help, when the announcement comes that the chromatic doors have closed. Clover and Tenmyouji are penalized, and injected with Soporil, because they didn't make it through the primary doors. With her last ounces of strength, she uses Tenmyouji's blood to write Dio's name on her thigh. She is then injected with tubocurarine and dies.

K's Ending → In K's ending, instead of going with Quark and Tenmyouji, Clover ends up going with Phi and Dio into the green door. After managing to get out, they head back to the warehouse with the AB Rooms, and Dio runs off to open the AB Gate preemptively. Tenmyouji and Luna run in, exclaiming that Quark has gone missing. This time, however, Clover does not consult Alice before running off to search for Quark. Later, they all meet up in the warehouse, their endeavors fruitless. Dio runs in, yelling that Alice and Luna are dead in the crew quarters.

Clover wants to stay with Alice, but Phi reasons with her, telling her that if she doesn't vote, she'll automatically ally and Dio will probably find a way to betray her. If that happened, Dio would have 9 BP and would be able to escape. She reluctantly goes along with the others and betrays Dio and Phi so Dio won't have an opportunity to escape. Once again, they decide to search for Quark, but this time in pairs. Clover goes with Tenmyouji. It is unknown what happens to them after this, as we do not see them again, but because they do not make it through the primary doors, it's assumed they die.

Dio's Ending → In this one, instead of going with Tenmyouji or Quark or Phi and Dio, Clover ends up going through the red door with Sigma and Alice. They end up in the pantry. After they exit, only a few short moments later the announcer claims someone has opened one of the AB Gates. K and Tenmyouji run out of a room next to them, yelling that Quark has gone missing. Clover, Alice, and K return to the first floor, while Tenmyouji and Sigma stay on the bottom floor to search.

Eventually, they run across Phi, who loudly proclaims something has happened in the crew quarters. When they arrive, they find Alice and Luna dead. Clover was apparently the first to find them. Clover is left in a nearly catatonic state when they return to the warehouse to vote. Sigma assures her he will vote ally. However, Phi approaches him after Clover has gone into her respective AB Room and tells him that she along with Dio are planning to escape after this round, telling him he should pick betray so that he can escape, as well. Afterwards, Clover loudly proclaims that he'd broken a promise and says that she hates him. Sigma, Phi, and Dio then escape, leaving the rest of them trapped.

Tenmyouji's Ending → This is a completely different pathway from the first three endings in that Clover goes through the initial chromatic door with Luna and K, the cyan one instead of the yellow one. The three of them end up in the crew quarters. After escaping, they meet up with the other 6 at the elevator. They go down the elevator together to find the next set of chromatic doors. Sigma overhears Alice and Clover talking in private in the infirmary, asking each other if there's a 'connection' and proclaiming they need to get in touch with headquarters.

After going back to the warehouse to vote in the AB Game, Sigma and Phi find the old lady dead in their room. They call the others, and they take her body to the infirmary. They have a long discussion, then return to the warehouse to vote when the announcer informs them they only have 10 minutes left. K and Clover betray Luna, placing their BP at 6 and her's at 1.

Sigma later finds Alice and Clover in the crew quarters, and he asks what their 'deal' is. Clover then gives him some details on the nonary game that took place a year prior, the second nonary game. Later, someone runs in to tell them that something is wrong with Quark. They run to the infirmary, where it is learned Quark has been infected with radical-6. They fight with him so he will not kill himself, and eventually Luna is able to sedate him.

At the chromatic doors, Clover ends up going through the blue door with Tenmyouji and Sigma. They end up in the PEC, the 'pressure exchange chamber'. Clover is deeply disappointed that a way out is not in this room, as the door is welded shut.

After escaping, they find another warehouse on this floor, with three white chromatic doors. Then, they hear the announcer proclaiming someone has opened an AB Gate. They frantically run back to the warehouse on the first floor. They learn that K's group found virus medication in their room, and they run back to the infirmary where Luna injects Quark with Axelavir, radical-6's cure. Tenmyouji then pulls out a memory card they found in the PEC, and put it in the TV. Sigma, Luna, Tenmyouji, Phi, and Clover are present to hear a distress call from a Mars mission, where a woman loudly proclaims that 6 of them are dead. Counting herself, only three were left. This mission apparently took place on New Year's Eve, 2028, a week after Clover had been kidnapped. They learn that Tenmyouji was involved with this project, and that a virus apparently escaped from the test site. This virus is radical-6.

They return to the AB Rooms, and, unbeknownst to Sigma, Clover has been ordered by Alice to escape the nonary game by all means possible and contact headquarters. So, when they enter the AB Rooms, Clover attempts to seduce Sigma into voting betray. She fails, and Sigma votes ally. Later, they reunite in the crew quarters, where Alice is found dead. Clover yells that she will kill everyone in the room if they don't find proof, in ten seconds, that it wasn't a murder. Sigma, with a memory intact from a past jump, and tells her that it wasn't a person that killed her, but radical-6 that drove her to suicide. The 'proof' is a journal Alice found in the laboratory, which is in Latin. Sigma flips to the page that details radical-6, and has Phi read it aloud. Clover is compelled to believe this, and breaks down crying. They find Quark, revived and uninfected, in the infirmary, and the group of them head to the chromatic doors. Clover goes with Luna and K into the leftmost door.

Sigma returns to the AB Rooms to find everyone present, but Tenmyouji and Quark stayed behind because Tenmyouji forgot his picture of Akane. When he arrives, Dio runs to the AB Room and slides his card in. They wait for Tenmyouji and Quark for a long time, and eventually get tired of waiting. Everyone splits up, and Sigma runs to go find them. When they all return to vote, Clover betrays K, increasing her and Luna's points to 11 and 4 respectively. Clover, Quark, and Tenmyouji then escape together.

Quark's Ending → Here, instead of going with Tenmyouji through the blue door, she and Sigma go through the red one with Dio. They end up in the laboratory, and after they finish the puzzle, Dio asks them to stay for a moment to look at a few things. Then, they inspect a machine called an 'IG Replicator'. It's a machine that they didn't actually use in the puzzle. They ponder what IG could mean to no avail. Then, he asks to see the axelavir they found in the safe — the supposed cure to radical-6, which would expel the disease from Quark. He then snatches it away from Sigma, and threatens him to choose ally, or else he'll break the axelavir. He also says if he or Clover tell the others about the axelavir, he'll break it. Downtrodden, they return to warehouse A.

Once in the AB Room, Clover pleads to Sigma to pick betray. If he picks ally and Dio picks betray, which he will assuredly do, considering his BP is at 6 and picking betray will result in a BP of 9, meaning he can escape, then he'll die, because Sigma's BP of 1 will fall to negative 1. He'll be penalized and injected with the tubocurarine. She fights with him to pick ally, and runs to the machine to press it before he gets an opportunity, but he catches her and knocks her down. He thanks her for her concern, but picks ally.

When they exit, they all head to the results board, to see that Dio did, indeed, pick betray. Within moments, he is injected with soporil, and he begins to feel drowsy. They all watch as he falls to the floor. Dio runs to the number 9 door, but Sigma uses the last of his energy to confront him. He demands that Dio gives the axelavir back. Clover and Sigma come clean, confessing that he stole it from them and forced them to vote ally. Dio throws the axelavir at him, and Sigma barely manages to catch it. He hands it to Clover, as he nearly drops it.

At this point, Sigma has only about five minutes before he is injected with tubocurarine and dies. He has another epiphany to a different timeline, where Luna informs him that he has cybernetic arms. If he could manage to cut his hand off from the wrist, he wouldn't be injected with the tubocurarine, and because the arms are robotic, he wouldn't die from blood loss. He urges Dio to open the number 9 door. Phi lunges to stop him, but she is too late. And, with what remaining strength he has, Sigma slams into Dio and grabs his foot, just as he moves to leave. K slips into the door by Sigma's request, as he has 9 points as well. At the last moment, he lets go, and the door shuts on Sigma's arm, crushing it. He passes out, and the others carry him back to the infirmary.

After a long conversation about what they'll do from here, as the number 9 door won't open again, Alice suddenly goes crazy from her radical-6 infection and stabs herself in the heart.

Clover's Ending → On Clover's path, Sigma has betrayed Tenmyouji instead of allied with him. Because he feels he can't trust anyone, he urges Clover and Sigma to take Quark, as Clover is the only person he feels he can trust. Sigma, Clover, and the unconscious Quark head through the green door, and manage to get into the treatment center. There, they find treatment pods, and they place Quark in one of them. It can't cure radical-6, but it will stabilize him, so they decide to leave him there for the time being. As they solve the puzzle and begin to leave, Clover notices that the screen on Quark's pod has changed. They walk up to it, and it displays its records — and they learn that, until a few hours ago, the pods housed 3 people, all in cold sleep. That meant three of them had been in these pods. They also find an injection gun loaded with a drug called neostigmine, which Clover claims she knows of but can't remember what it does. She claims, though, that it isn't 'bad'.

They then wander to warehouse B, where the next set of chromatic doors are, and remain there until they hear the announcer over the intercom announce someone has opened an AB Gate. While there, they discuss the possibility of betraying Quark. He won't be able to vote, as he's unconscious, so he will automatically ally, and if they betray him, their points will increase to 9, and they can escape. They run back to Warehouse A, where they find everyone else. Dio opened the AB Gate out of impatience. Sigma explains to the others what they did with Quark, and then he pleads her to take him to the treatment center. The two of them leave, leaving the rest of the party in warehouse A. The rest discuss the treatment pods and the cold sleep function, then realize that if they were to place themselves in cold sleep, their heart would stop and their bracelets would fall off. They run to the treatment center, only to find that the cold sleep function has been turned off. The announcer the echos across the room, telling them they only have 10 minutes before AB Voting closes. Tenmyouji remains behind with Quark.

Once in the AB Room, Clover pleads Sigma to forget what she said before about betraying Quark, and reveals that while in the treatment center, Tenmyouji informs Clover of his true identity — Junpei. She leaves some stuff out, but tells Sigma that she doesn't want to betray Tenmyouji or Quark because he is a special person to her. A bit reluctantly, Sigma chooses ally. Clover is relieved that he chooses ally, boosting both of their BP as well as Quark's to 8. As they have nothing to do for roughly an hour and a half, they decide to search for axelavir to cure Quark's condition. Sigma, Clover, and Phi head to the pressure exchange chamber. Because there are two floors, Phi decides to search the top floor and leaves Clover and Sigma to the bottom. Now that he has the opportunity, Sigma questions Clover about her and Alice's seeming knowledge of the nonary game and radical-6. She feels like she can trust Sigma, so she spills everything about the SOIS, the two previous nonary games, the morphogenetic field, etc. Clover has a sudden epiphany, and pulls out the injection gun with neostigmine. She reveals it's a type of cholinesterase inhibitor, which would counteract tubocurarine's properties. That means that if someone is injected with it, they can use it to prevent them from dying. She then runs out of the PEC to inform Alice, leaving Sigma behind.

Once Sigma reaches the infirmary, where they were scheduled to meet up, he finds everyone besides Quark dead on the floor. A lone scalpel sits on the floor, bloodied, presumably what everyone used to kill themselves. Sigma then feels compelled to do the same. It is implied that everyone succumbed to their radical-6 and committed suicide.

Alice's Ending → Alice's ending is on a different path from the previous 6 endings, meaning that the first chromatic door she goes through is different. On this path, K, Clover, and Tenmyouji go through the magenta door, to the lounge. After the puzzle, all 9 of them meet up again at the elevator. As a group, they go down the elevator to find the next 3 chromatic doors.

Back at the AB Rooms, Clover and K end up betraying Tenmyouji. Tenmyouji is saddened because of Clover's betrayal, and remarks he hasn't yet been able to make her trust him. He swears that he will find a way to make Clover trust him.

After a while of idle time, Quark and K locate a bomb. Quark runs to inform the others, and they all unite in the crew quarters, where the bomb is. They learn that the bomb is an antimatter bomb, with the power of 1 ton of dynamite, and that it is numbered '03', presumably meaning it is from a set. It has a jack in which you can plug in a usb, which is theorized to be there to plug in a deactivation device. They discuss it for a long time before one of them realizes they only have 4 minutes remaining before the next set of chromatic doors open. They all run to the next set. They decide to vote on who goes in what door. They decide upon option C, meaning that Clover ends up going with Quark and K into the red door. When the other 6 return to warehouse A, they find K waiting for them. Apparently, Quark had collapsed. Clover and he were in the infirmary. The group heads there. Through Luna's help, they learn that Quark is infected with radical-6. They discuss the possibility of taking him to the treatment pods when he wakes up and attempts to kill himself. Luna sedates him. When they turn around, they find Alice with a scalpel in a similar condition as Quark. She runs off, and everyone gives chase.

After she's found by Phi and Sigma, they bring her back to the infirmary, where Luna confirms that she is infected with radical-6. They discuss the possibility of curing them with axelavir, which is made of immunoglobulin, and upon inspection of Quark's body, they find a vial of axelavir he assumedly found from the safe in the laboratory. However, there is only enough for one person. They stand in silence as they wonder who gets the axelavir, when Sigma has another epiphany. He remembers in another timeline the IG Replicator, and tells the others that it can replicate the axelavir. They all run there and replicate it. However, Sigma drops one vial, and as he moves to pick it up, they discover another bomb. It's labelled '02'. They also find a purple memory card, which they assume is left by the bomber. As they only have a few minutes left for AB Voting, they all return to the infirmary, where Alice and Quark are both given axelavir. However, they are still unconscious. Everyone sans Alice, Quark, and Tenmyouji head to the warehouse to vote.

K and Clover betray each other, and we also learn that Alice somehow made it to the AB Room and betrayed Sigma. If he hadn't chosen betray, he would have died from tubocurarine injection. They turn to find Alice walking out of the AB room. After explaining her reasoning, Alice returns to the infirmary, and Clover follows. Eventually, Sigma walks in with Luna and the purple memory card, and puts the memory card in the TV, which has a memory card slot. Displayed on the screen is now a long string of letters; 6 rows, and each two rows is a repeat of every other row. Alice explains that this is a typical code used by the Myrmidons. She explains that the myrmidons are a terrorist organization suspected of creating the radical-6 virus, a group of extremists affiliated with a religious cult called 'free the soul'. Their goal is to cleanse the world of all people and repopulate it with clones of a man named Left. They conclude that the bombs were set by the myrmidons. Alice later leaves and Sigma follows her, leaving the rest in the infirmary to process the information they've just learned.

Later, Clover finds them in the B. Garden, and tells them that everyone besides Quark and Luna, who are in the infirmary, are in the floor B warehouse. Apparently, Phi, Tenmyouji, and Dio began to fight over their mutual betraying. The three of them head to the floor B warehouse. Sigma stops them by saying he discovered who planted the bombs. From his past memories, he recalled Dio being a member of the myrmidons. He fools him into admitting it. Alice lunges at Dio in a fit of rage, but Dio pulls out the bomb detonator. She and Clover manage to pin him down. Clover throws the detonator to Sigma. The light on the detonator suddenly illuminates, and Dio laughs as he informs them that if the detonator gets within a certain distance away from him, it will automatically activate. This leaves them about 30 minutes before the bombs detonate. After Alice nearly breaks his arm, Dio tells them the deactivation device is in his pocket. Clovers moves to get it. She pulls out a strange pill. When Clover asks him what it is, he says he can't see it and asks her to bring it closer. When she does, he grabs it with his free hand and swallows it. Within moments, he's dead. Before he dies, he gives them the deactivation code to one of the bombs.

With 25 minutes remaining, they run off to find the deactivation device. They, unfortunately, never find it. With 5 minutes remaining, they reunite at warehouse B. They don't even have the opportunity to say goodbye before the facility explodes.

Sigma's Ending → In this ending, instead of going with Quark and K, Clover goes with Luna and Sigma into the green door. They find themselves in the archives. After escaping, they find themselves in warehouse B. They ponder about the room when the announcer informs them an AB Gate has been opened. They run back to warehouse A. They find Tenmyouji, Alice, and Dio, and Alice informs them that Dio 'didn't feel the need to wait'. K then runs in and informs the others that Quark has collapsed. They all run back to the infirmary. They learn he is infected with Radical-6 from Luna. Quark awakens and attempts suicide, but they manage to sedate him. When they turn, they find Alice with the scalpel, in a similar state to Quark, and she runs off. Sigma manages to find her with aid from his past memories before she kills herself. They leave the two unconscious members of their party in the infirmary while the rest go to vote. Clover stays behind to watch over Alice, meaning her vote will default to ally. Sigma chooses to ally, as well, though, so her BP is boosted to 8.

Later, Phi, Luna, and Sigma discover the 01 bomb in the B. Garden. They run back to the infirmary to tell the others. Phi decides that whoever planted the bombs will have the deactivator on their person, so she opts to search everyone. If they refuse, then that obviously incriminates them. Sigma suddenly yells that it's unnecessary; he knows who planted the bombs, from his past memories. He points to Dio. He tells them he is a member of the myrmidons, and Alice and Clover are shocked that he knows of them. Dio refers to Brother as an 'old fart', indicating that he knows his age, though Sigma never refers to his age. This indicates that he is, in fact, a member of the myrmidons, and that he did plant the bombs. Dio then confesses that he is Left, the leader of the myrmidons, and that he did plant the bombs. He pulls out the detonator, and threatens that he will push it if they don't back off. Tenmyouji, however, does not. He provokes him to press it. Tenmyouji lies and tells him it's a fake, and for a moment, Dio looks down at it, shocked. The detonator flies from his hands, activating. Dio moves to take his pill and kill himself, but Sigma yells for all of them to stop him. They all dogpile on Dio, preventing him from taking the pill. He gives them the 02 bomb password. Luna then sedates him. They only have about 20 minutes to find the input device and deactivate the bombs, but unfortunately, they are unable to find it. The facility explodes, killing them all.

Phi's Ending & Alternate End → This is the true ending, as well as the ending I am taking Clover from, so it is the most important.

Instead of going through the door with Luna and Sigma or K and Quark, she goes through the blue door with Tenmyouji and Dio. Once they escape, they return to the AB Rooms, where Dio leaps forward to unlock one of the AB Rooms. They remain there when Luna, Phi, and Sigma return. Soon after, K returns, proclaiming that Quark has passed out. They go through the spiel of radical-6, Quark trying to kill himself, and then Alice running away with the scalpel. Sigma and Phi once again find her in the B. Garden and carry her back to the infirmary. Phi also finds the 01 bomb here. When they all reunite in the infirmary, they learn that Alice, too, has radical-6. As they only have 10 minutes left to vote, everyone returns to the AB Rooms. Clover and Tenmyouji ally with each other, placing Clover's BP at 8. Phi's BP, conversely, manages to get to 9, and she is about to leave when Sigma manages to plead to her to stay.

They decide to search for the rest of the bombs with the time they have left before the next set of doors open. Someone finds the 02 bomb in the control room, and Clover goes to find Phi and Sigma to inform them. They arrive at the control room, and Clover explains to Sigma and Phi that everyone knows about the bomb now and the colors of everyone's bracelets. They return to the infirmary, where Phi once again proposes to search everyone for the detonator. Phi, Luna, and Sigma had found the deactivator in the control room, so all they needed were the passwords and culprit. Sigma stops her, though, and informs everyone he knows who the culprit is. He points out that it was Dio who did it, information he retained from a previous timeline. He points out the myrmidons, free the soul, Brother, etc. and Dio finally admits to being Left and the planter of the bombs. He pulls out the detonator. Tenmyouji, once again, provokes him, and the detonator falls to the floor and activates. Dio tries to commit suicide with the pill, but they manage to hold him down and sedate him.

Now, they only have 25 minutes to deactivate the bombs. Phi and Sigma take off, and tell everyone to get Alice, Dio, and Quark and go to the floor B warehouse. After about 20 minutes, they return successful, and all of them jump through the white chromatic doors. They all reunite at the infirmary later, and Sigma, Phi, and Tenmyouji reveal they found two vials of axelavir in the Q Room. Luna injects Alice and Quark with it, curing them of their radical-6. Luna, K, Phi, and Sigma head to the AB Rooms to open the AB Gates, and then Luna and K return to the infirmary, as they have 45 minutes to vote. If they were to vote now, they would be stuck in the AB Rooms for the remainder of the time. When Phi and Sigma don't return, they go to the warehouse to find the unconscious. They drag them back to the infirmary.

Later, they awaken to discover that everyone has played the AB Game 3 times while they were unconscious, and each time, they all voted ally. This places everyone's BP at 9 or above, meaning they can all escape the facility together. They also find Alice and Quark revived and well. They head to the number 9 door, leaving Dio behind and chained to a sink. They open the number 9 door, head through it and get on the lift, and arrive at a PEC. Putting on the suits, they all exit the building to find themselves in some kind of desert. Eventually, they learn from Tenmyouji that it is not December 31st, 2028, but in fact January of 2074. They learn that they are all infected with radical-6, which slows down their bodies processes, that the Earth was inflicted with a radical-6 pandemic, which tore it asunder and killed 1/3rd of the population, and that at some point some annihilation reactors were set to explode by a group of individuals in an attempt to cleanse the world of radical-6. This left the Earth's atmosphere dirty, and why it looks red still to this day.

Suddenly, Sigma and Phi run back into the facility, and everyone struggles to follow. They take the lift to the bottom floor, and manage to open the door on floor B. They follow them all the way to the B. Garden, where there is a secluded grave that says 'Tu fui, ego eris.' and Sigma places a key in it. They claim that Akane is under it, to which Clover reacts: "That Akane?" We also learn Tenmyouji's true identity. A treatment pod rises from the ground, but they cannot open it yet, as the person inside is in cold sleep. They must wait ten minutes for the person to thaw before they can unlock it.

Phi asks K for his story, and why he knows Akane, and K goes into a spiel about how he was raised in the facility, which is apparently called 'rhizome-9'. There are a number of identical facilities across the moon, all sprawled into craters. He tells them about the AB Project, and how the purpose of it was to send Phi and Sigma's consciousnesses into the past, so that they may stop radical-6's outbreak from occurring. He then explains why everyone was abducted. Clover, Alice, and Phi were revealed to have been in cold sleep for 45 years. They also learn that the consciousness within Sigma is his consciousness from 46 years ago, meaning that he is 22 year old Sigma in 67 year old Sigma's body, something he hadn't known until just then. After all this explaining, the pod opens to reveal Kyle, who previously Sigma had thought to be the person within K's armor. K takes off his armor to reveal Akane. She explains that, after saving Akane from Dio's assassination attempt, she switched places with K and placed his body within the treatment pod. Akane explains the history of the project as well as the purpose. Then, she says she must stimulate Sigma and Phi's consciousness to return to the past. She pulls out a knife and moves to attack Akane, and Sigma jumps forth to save Phi, when both of them pass out. She only hit him in the arm with the butt of her knife.

Sigma reawakens in Kyle's body hours later. He finds Clover and Alice, who are both downtrodden to learn about the fate of the world as well as their being stuck on rhizome-9. They do share that, according to Akane, there is a way to send the two of them back in time, though.
