APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN!
The next processing date is Friday 11th October
IMPORTANT: PLEASE POST YOUR APPLICATIONS HERE ON THE NEW APPLICATION PAGE
We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.
In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.
You may apply for two characters every two weeks, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.
Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. If you wish to request a specific apartment, please do so in the relevant part of the application. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.
If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.
Every attempt will be made to place a character in their chosen apartments, though this may not always be possible depending on the slots available.
Applications are open constantly, but are only processed every other Friday at 7PM EST. The Saturday following acceptance, an IC mingle log will be posted for characters to be introduced to the game.
We now have a test drive community athaventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old.

-> REVISE
Are werewolves common in this world? Or just descended from that single tribe? Do they keep themselves properly hidden? What was Annie's childhood/family life like?
We apologize for the inconvenience. You have one week to reply to these revisions, thank you.
Re: -> REVISE
All modern werewolves are directly or indirectly descended from the Tribe of Benjamin-- though most just consider it a legend or a fable. There are thousands of werewolf clans across the world, mostly concentrated in parts of the world with historically sizable Jewish populations. (But not all werewolves are Jewish, as thousands of years of intermarriage and dominance of the werewolf genes lead to a spread, blah blah genetics it’s hard to stop rambling about it...) There are less of them than there are humans and vampires, but more than the other
The supernatural communities-- for all the species and races considered themselves entirely separate entities, and rarely interacted except to battle over land and power-- remained rather well hidden for most of humanity’s existence. However, around the mid-twentieth century, it began to get harder and harder to hide as technology made the world expand and yet grow closer. In the 1960s, all the various governing bodies of the paranormal, from the vampire Senate to the werewolf Clans to the fairy monarchies, officially revealed their existence to the people of Earth. They took as well as could be expected-- finding out that creatures of legend aren’t legends at all can be pretty freaky-- and it took nearly twenty years for the inhuman to find a place in human society, with some having more success than others. Most werewolves, for example, still live in the more rural areas of the world, where they can still transform and hunt as much as they want. This is why the Goldsteins live in the Ozarks.
And then we have Annie herself. She has five older brothers, the oldest being 30, and seven younger brothers, the youngest being eight. Being the only girl of a species that prizes girls, she had certain privileges even her older brothers didn’t have. (She was allowed to have her own bed when she became a teenager, and she was always the undisputed leader in all of their games.) Her father is an electrician and her mother is a chicken farmer; she is not as close to them as she is to her brother, Asher, who was the one who essentially raised her. Discipline was lax in the family and the children mostly had free range, but it was somewhat set in stone that Annie would take over her mother’s position once she became an adult. Her defiance in leaving and her apparent decision to end the family line by courting a woman caused a bit of a riff, but werewolves can’t stay mad at their own kin for very long.
