APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN!
The next processing date is Friday 11th October
IMPORTANT: PLEASE POST YOUR APPLICATIONS HERE ON THE NEW APPLICATION PAGE
We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.
In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.
You may apply for two characters every two weeks, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.
Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. If you wish to request a specific apartment, please do so in the relevant part of the application. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.
If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.
Every attempt will be made to place a character in their chosen apartments, though this may not always be possible depending on the slots available.
Applications are open constantly, but are only processed every other Friday at 7PM EST. The Saturday following acceptance, an IC mingle log will be posted for characters to be introduced to the game.
We now have a test drive community athaventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old.

When one meets Cheriour for the first time, the first question they usually ask is not "Who are you?" or "What are you?". It's "What sort of drugs are you on?"
Unlike the popular view of angels, which are often seen as calm, stoic, benevolent beings, Cheriour is a babbling mad man of an angel who seems to take a childish delight in almost everyone he sees. He'll ramble on endlessly about anything he finds interesting, ask too many questions, or just generally not take any rules of normal conversation into account. Of course, it's to be expected- Cheriour hasn't talked much with human beings, and the only ones he has talked with are now dead. Also, he hasn't quite caught up to all the inventions of humanity, and can often be found pondering the usage of a teapot or what a "French fry" is supposed to be, among many other things.
The main thing about Cheriour is that he loves human beings more than anything else in the world. They're a race to be respected, and although his job is to weed out those whose hearts are the darkest, he still loves them as a whole. He'll do anything to try to please them, and it shows when he talks- he always uses words like "sir" or "miss" and is generally a very polite person to talk to. Once you get over the whole creepy clocks-for-eyes thing, he really isn't a bad person and will probably be one of your greatest friends if you allow him to be.
But underneath the cheery smile and energetic disposition lies a very different picture. You see, Cheriour kills people on a regular basis. And on the inside, he feels the guilt swarming up inside him whenever he focuses too long on what he does. He doesn't just babble on and on about unrelated topics because he likes the sound of his own voice- it's literally the thing that's keeping his sanity in check. By distracting himself with trivial things, he is able to avoid the brutal truth of what he does. That being said, he doesn't feel guilt that he ever took the job- he knows it is a necessity and that no other angel he knows can do it- he only feels it because he knows he's ended human lives with his own hands. Still, Cheriour, to humanity, is quite literally the monster people tell their children about in order for them to act good (an example of one such story over here), and the knowledge that humanity hates him for what he does stings quite a bit.
Cheriour is a very sympathetic creature most of the time, but when it comes to what he does, he has to put that aside and do his job. He'll laugh and grin when he's tracking a murderer down, and seemingly show no pity towards his prey. It's the reason why they call him a "terrible angel" down on Earth. To most human beings, he's an avenging angel, a spirit of retribution that won't hesitate to bring justice on the ones who deserve it. And he does his duty well. It's the way he protects the human race he loves so dearly.
