We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.
In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.
You may apply for two characters every two weeks, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.
Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. If you wish to request a specific apartment, please do so in the relevant part of the application. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.
If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.
Every attempt will be made to place a character in their chosen apartments, though this may not always be possible depending on the slots available.
Applications are open constantly, but are only processed every other Friday at 7PM EST. The Saturday following acceptance, an IC mingle log will be posted for characters to be introduced to the game.
We now have a test drive community athaventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old.

Owain, even among his eclectic group of allies, is considered the craziest person in the army. Among the company of others, he likes to speak as if he’s narrating a novel or play. This comes complete with flowery language, poses, and sound effects. Most people tend to laugh at him or, in the rare case, actually enjoy it but despite the reactions he continues on. Often this is pre planned as it’s noted that he thinks up or writes down these stories ahead of time, as if he has too much time on his hands. Sometimes he says it’s done by improvisation but after he claims that, he often ends up stuttering.
The odd thing is, he rarely seems to have much time on his hands in the first place. Owain is actually known for his skills with building and repairing weapons and armor of all types. He’s the go to guy when it comes to getting your things fixed or getting new, unknown items identified. That and he is shown to be a rather helpful person, often butting himself into other people’s business to give them a hand with physical chores. This also comes with the penalty of being insulted for his flowery language but he doesn't seem to mind.
The one thing Owain is focused most on is JUSTICE. And not just JUSTICE but the revenge aspect of JUSTICE. Almost all of his stories have the main character, himself, going through a traumatic event where upon he rises up from it stronger and powered with the anger of vengeance. He even has something he calls ‘Avenger Mode’ in his stories where he loses sight of his goal and goes berserk with rage. He’s overly infatuated with the idea of saving people and protecting them with the power of justice. With that, he also pretends his sword arm isn't exactly under his control and it thirsts for blood. While almost surely an act, he plays it up to such a massive degree that he even gains imitators and fans in one of his endings. And the one thing he is most known for is naming his weapons. He claims that it gives the weapon a soul and greatly empowers it.
Despite all of that above, Owain is actually a fairly normal, if dorky and hot-blooded kid. He can verbally spar normally with people he doesn't get along with, such as Inigo, or have decent conversations that amount to good small talk, such as with Lucina. Or he can show that he cares...normally...as shown in many of his S-ranked supports. Even if he’s over enthusiastic and enjoys winding tall tales, he can love and worry just like anyone else. As a matter of fact, one could say the person he loves most is his mother and he vows to protect her no matter what. Whenever his mother, Lissa, smiles, Owain feels at his best. He also houses a small complex for his father because, in his grimdark future, his father dies protecting him from an attack. Just seeing something similar leaves him in tears because he doesn’t want it to ever happen again. Because of this and his mother’s death, he acts like he does as a way to gain more power to protect them when he travels back into the past.
Also, with the permission of the Lon’qu player currently in game, Owain’s father will be Lon’qu.
Abilities/Powers:
Owain is a very talented swordsman. In the Fire Emblem universe, this means that he can jump over ten feet into the air, cleave through armor, and swing his blade incredibly fast. His speed and skill are his highest stats, granting him the ability to attack more and to activate his abilities more often. As for abilities...
Astra: Allows him to attack five times in the time space of a single attack.
Lethality: A small chance that Owain’s hit is so accurate, it serves as a lethal, one shot kill.
Swordfaire: When using a sword, his attacks are more powerful.
Vantage: Once Owain falls below half health, he attacks first, no matter the situation. In RP terms, it probably means he gets better the more hurt he is.
Acrobat: Allows him to cross any terrain without a movement penalty. Or, in short, able to move across any terrain at full speed.

A broken staff that was owned by his mother, his mom’s ring, and his sword Missiletainn (a normal sword but somehow grants Owain a higher critical hit rate and extra luck)

Sample Entry Two:
This was the turning point. The story of a boy and his survival in a place of unknown capacity. In the future, it would be known as Owain: The Chronicle of an Avenger.
Or not. Something had obviously gone terribly wrong and he wasn’t where he was supposed to be. Assassins was the first thought in mind but it was discarded. He’d be dead, a product of the vengeance of someone else. While it would make a great story, it definitely wasn’t his current situation. No, this was definitely the dark work of some sorcerer. A master of teleportation against the will of the target. Or even better, a curse that sent him into a lifelong dream inside another reality!
Oh, he really liked that idea. When he got the chance, he’d write it down later but, for now, he had to work with it. All he needed to do was confront an evil version of himself. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that an evil version of himself would be himself fully lost in Avenger Mode. Great, once he conquered that, it would be the final hurdle in mastering his own Avenger Mode and ascending to a new level of power!
Er, or in a more realistic state, he was in a tight spot. Getting out of this was going to be nigh impossible but he’d manage it somehow. He had to get back to his mother and father. He promised himself that he would defend them with his life and being here wasn’t going to let him do that. ....he just needed them to stay safe in the meantime, while he broke out of whatever prison this place happened to be.
