We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every two weeks, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. If you wish to request a specific apartment, please do so in the relevant part of the application. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Every attempt will be made to place a character in their chosen apartments, though this may not always be possible depending on the slots available.

Applications are open constantly, but are only processed every other Friday at 7PM EST. The Saturday following acceptance, an IC mingle log will be posted for characters to be introduced to the game.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old.

Personality:Azaka is very bright and optimistic. For the most part it's normal to see Azaka smiling. Normally she thinks positively and she tries to be very proper. One of the things she strives towards is becoming an ideal lady. She only does all of this because she's deeply in love with her own brother Mikiya. She absolutely loves Mikiya to the point where she can't believe it herself. Azaka looks up to Mikiya for a role model and she greatly respects him. She's not bothered by the fact that she loves her brother. Becoming a proper and refined lady is something Azaka does because she hopes that one day Mikiya will see her as a woman instead of his sister.

The saying "don't judge a book by its cover" heavily applies to Azaka. On the outside she looks very refined and high class. She attends an all girls boarding school called Reien. Normally Azaka's an ideal student and doesn't break rules. She basically yells at Shiki every time she thinks she's about to break a school rule. Trying to get other people to follow the rules is also something she does. When it comes to mannerisms she tries to be polite and modest. However, when she's with Shiki or Mikiya her core personality shows off more. When Azaka's around them you can often find her throwing stuff at people which is pretty much the exact opposite of lady like.

Despite her ongoing optimism Azaka's prone to acting emotionally and having temper tantrums. Sometimes she easily gets irritated by the smallest things. A person who irritates Azaka the most is Shiki Ryougi. The moment Azaka found out she had to team up with Shiki she basically screamed so loudly it echoed throughout the building. One time a fairy took away Azaka's memory of when she first fell in love with her brother. Azaka was so furious that she went in the chairman's room and boldly proclaimed that she'd never forgive the magus for stealing her memory.

As an apprentice she's very responsible. She listens to Touko's advice and does all her research thoroughly. Azaka only managed to get past Kurogiri because she'd taken Touko's advice and used a music player to block God's Word. She knows how to prioritize her duties and to team up with people when it's required. Despite her jealousy towards Shiki she still teamed up with her for the investigation. When she is asked to do something, she is capable of being serious. Overall, Azaka's a very responsible and hardworking magus.

Some of the things she likes are somewhat questionable. During one of her conversations with Shiki, Azaka admits that she likes things that are taboo. The reason for this is because her origin is Taboo. Basically, that means that Azaka has a tendency to stay away from normal things. An example of this is her becoming a magus.

Around the school Azaka can be very helpful. She offered to look after her roommate’s dog over the New Year’s break. The dog actually gave her a bit of trouble because he kept walking on grounds where pets weren’t allowed. Even though Azaka had a hard time dealing with a dog she still managed to keep her promise and looked after it anyways. She also sometimes helps out her friend Fujino Asagami.

At times she can get competitive. Her competitive behavior is the only reason she's an apprentice magus in the first place. She didn't want Shiki to be better than her so she became a magus just to match her physically and mentally. That's just the extent of lengths at which she goes to so she can achieve her own goals. Once she sets her mind on something there's no stopping her. She is prone to getting loud and noisy because of her competitive behavior.

Abilities/Powers:Azaka's a magus and she's talented in the art of fire magecraft. She can set things on fire using spontaneous combustion. Her ability is very similiar to Pyrokinesis.

She controls her magic by using one word musical notations.
Items/Weapons: Salamander Glove: It acts as an amplifier and increases Azaka's spell magic.
Ryougi Shiki Dummy: A tiny doll that looks just like Ryougi Shiki.

Sample Entry: Good morning everyone. My name is Azaka Kokutou.

It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Pardon me, for taking up your time. I'm sure you're all busy, however any responses would be appreciated.

I need to ask about a certain problem I've been coming across lately. It always feels like something's watching me. Excuse my language. It's not certainly polite of me to say so myself in such terms. However, I can't really seem to find any other way to put it unfortunately. [She lets out a heavy sigh. The whole situation has been bothering her for a while.]
Who ever's responsible for this may as well give it up if this is their idea of a joke. A proper lady needs some privacy, you know?

Sample Entry Two:

Azaka had just woken up from what seemed like a long nap. Naturally the first thing she tried to do was to recall her last memory, but for some reason that was impossible. For a moment she thought that the fairies might have had something to do with it. As far as she was concerned the fairies at the academy were capable of making people lose their memories. She'd figured that somehow the fairies from the academy were responsible for all of this nonsense. Eventually, she realized that her deductions were wrong because she'd been taken out of her usual scenery. In fact, it would be easier to say that Azaka had no idea where she'd ended up. To her this was nothing but an annoyance.

She'd never seen this room before nor did she know the people inside of that room. What bothered her about it was the fact that it wasn't just her in the room. There seemed to be other people who were stuck in a similar situation as her. This whole situation seemed absurd. If this was a joke then she thought that it'd gone way too far. After feeling somewhat furious because of her situation she got off of the bed and marched towards the window. There was a seemingly large billboard hanging in the midst of a desolate city. Azaka's had been shocked by what she saw outside. The sign that said "In haven we are all save together" caught her attention, but what was even more jarring were the old man and woman sitting near it.

"What are you going to do with gas masks?!"

To her it seemed useless to have one. She thought there was nothing wrong with the air she was breathing. Suddenly the old man and woman both smiled at the same time. Azaka kept staring at those two like they were weirdos on a tv set.

"You're not supposed to be smiling while everyone's confused!"

She let out a sigh and decided to be more serious about this. After all there was only so much she could do by sitting around. Azaka thought that she may as well head out and start an investigation.
