We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.
In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.
You may apply for two characters every two weeks, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.
Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. If you wish to request a specific apartment, please do so in the relevant part of the application. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.
If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.
Every attempt will be made to place a character in their chosen apartments, though this may not always be possible depending on the slots available.
Applications are open constantly, but are only processed every other Friday at 7PM EST. The Saturday following acceptance, an IC mingle log will be posted for characters to be introduced to the game.
We now have a test drive community athaventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old.

Background/History: Wiki general and Shiemi's background
Personality: Shiemi can be come of as a bit shy at first, but when she actually begins to open up to others, her true, kind colors can really be shown.
At the beginning of the series, Shiemi is displayed as a shy girl, not really talking to others outside of her first few friends that she had made, the twin brothers Rin and Yukio. This was due to her being sheltered as a child, not really making conversations with other people outside of her mother and her grandmother, whom she cared for greatly. But after her grandmother had died, Shiemi had resumed to her usual shyness, not exactly displaying much other emotions.
However, after she had enrolled in True Cross Academy, or rather, the cram school for becoming an exorcist, Shiemi's personality becomes to change quite a bit. She had been growing out of her shell, not being so shy anymore and actually conversing with others, wanting to make more friends in the process. This leads to her becoming rather kind to those around her, wanting to show to others that she can be someone to rely on and not someone to brush aside so easily. However, her kindness can be taken for granted at times, as some might use her to run errands without her actually realizing it much for herself. But she eventually came to realizing that this wasn't what kindness was meant to be like; rather, it was to do good for someone without exactly having for them to ask, and vice versa. It had become something she had been living by since.
Shiemi is also known for actually being a bit clumsy. At times, she would often run after people, only for her to trip up and fall down, causing herself to get hurt in the process. Or for some unforeseen reason, she would usually end up causing another person to do harm to themselves, as well, as the case was when she showed up in front of Rin unexpectedly, only for her to receive a full frontal headbutt just because she wasn't careful enough. This is often used to express comedic relief, and to show that Shiemi can be a bit funny.
Other times, however, she's often seen as loyal and dedicated to her friends. No matter what the situation may seem, she will try and muster up the courage to do what's right and help out, for she doesn't want to be seem as someone that people need to take care of. As when Rin had been taken to a separate dimension, Shiemi was the one that was willing to go and save him for, just to show that she can have people rely on her. Another example of this is when Shiemi had created wooden barriers for the others to hide behind when they were attacked by a ghoul that was hounding them. So she's not one to back down whenever a friend seems to be in danger, often putting herself out there.
As stated before, when expressing beliefs, Shiemi's definitely not one to back down without expressing what she feels like on the subject. Before, she would be pretty shut in because of how sheltered she was, but being exposed to others had made her realize that she had to stick up for others and herself, as often depicted with the case of Izumo often claiming that she didn't like Shiemi's personality and that it often annoyed her, comparing her to a weed but Shiemi only merely replied by saying that she wanted to be a weed because of how strong they were. It's often that she confuses people by this sort of way of thinking that she had become accustomed to.
It's not to say that Shiemi hardly ever gets angry over things, but when it involves the harassment of one of her friends, or someone berating her love over her plants, then it can be assured that Shiemi will likely try and lash back at the said person, but ends up often reverting back to her normal, kind state of mind, not exactly wanting to be angry for long, and having the desire to help out everyone, and keep everyone happy. It can also be said that Shiemi is known for getting spooked by simple things (such as Rin teasing her with his tail), but when push comes to shove, Shiemi will definitely show bravery.
In all, Shiemi has a very good mindset about her, wanting to help out everyone that she possibly can, and not let anyone down in the meantime. She also has some odd quirks, one of which being her clumsiness, but can be very loyal to those around her, often displaying a vast array of emotions about her.
Abilities/Powers: Shiemi is able to summon what is known as a "familiar", which is often a spirit that adheres to the one that summons it based on how strong the person is in controlling it. Shiemi's familiar is known as a Greenman, but she has opted to call it "Nii-chan", due to it's odd way of saying things.
With her familiar, Shiemi is able to produce wooden barriers that are capable of putting enemies at bay, which leads to time for others to prepare for their attacks, or strategics. Her familiar can also produce a special aloe that is able to heal wounds, or treat cuts that have been inflicted by ghouls.
Shiemi also has considerable knowledge in various herbs and plants, often being able to point out which ones are more suitable for certain wounds, such as stab wounds, or burns, and can summon them using Nii-chan.
Items/Weapons: The Piece of Paper she uses to summon Nii-chan, and a spare change of school clothes.

She was confused at the sights that had just taken place in front of her. What was she supposed to make of that image that she just saw- of Rin being over taken by those blue flames? Those very same flames that belonged to Satan himself...her reactions to that were not the best, she will admit, but she was consumed by fear, as well. What else was she supposed to make of the situation? All she could do is cry, and not face the boy. She had grown to trust him for what he was, but now...she wasn't exactly sure what to think about it.
She was sitting in her room, on her bed, contemplating this over. What if she were to see him again? Would she avoid eye contact with the boy, and pretend like nothing ever happened and continue to just...be like her normal self to him? No, she didn't exactly want to do that in the first place, she was still terrified of the events that had just taken place, and she still had a few tears in her eyes. Looks like the best thing to do would be to avoid him. That's all she can do at this point.
"...but...he...he really was a great guy...and nice..." She let out a little sigh, lying herself down on the bed so that she was staring that the ceiling, bringing the blanket covers to cover up her body as she closed her eyes. Tomorrow...tomorrow she would see the boy again, unsure of what the actions between the two will be. "...I hope he understands what I see..." What she sees is a demon now, and she's unable to discern whether or not he'll stay that way, or be like his usual self- the Rin that she had grown to know.
All of this drifted into her mind as she let out a few tears roll down her face as she fell into slumber, putting aside those worries for now and trying to get a good night's rest.
"...huh?" She murmured sleepily, rubbing her eyes as she looked outside to the see the shining sun glimmering. It took her a few moments before she realized that...
"...Ah! I'm going to be late, I'm going to be late!" She scrambled out of her bed, moving over to her closet to get dressed as fast as she could. Needless to say, that didn't seem to go over so well, seeing as how she seems to have sloppily put on her school clothes, as she runs out, saying goodbye to her mom on the way...
But, she manages to trip up, and fall on her way out, landing on the ground with a "thud". "Ow, I...I guess I shouldn't be in such a hurry to just leave right now...oh.." That's when she realized she had obtained a key that allows her to go to the cram school instantly...
"...I guess this wasn't necessary, was it..."
