We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every two weeks, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. If you wish to request a specific apartment, please do so in the relevant part of the application. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Every attempt will be made to place a character in their chosen apartments, though this may not always be possible depending on the slots available.

Applications are open constantly, but are only processed every other Friday at 7PM EST. The Saturday following acceptance, an IC mingle log will be posted for characters to be introduced to the game.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old.

Personality: This is the most important section! There is no specific word count, but anything less than three paragraphs likely isn't detailed enough.

Fiona is more or less a normal girl thrown into an abnormal situation... or an abnormal family. She was raised by her doting mother and father and lived a rather normal life until she turned 18. Then she discovered that her family is actually cultists that have been trying to achieve immortality. She's thrown straight into a chaotic situation, first with her mother and father dying in a car crash, then being chased around by her would be murderers. Any normal person in that situation would probably be scared out if their wits, and Fiona is. She spends a lot of time stumbling around in panic, crying, and generally being really upset about the events that are unfolding in front of her eyes.

But really, what makes her an awesome character is that no matter what, she pushes through. Fiona's on the verge of a panic attack more than half of the time but she still perservers and insists on leaving the castle. She voices her protests even while at gunpoint. Fiona's goal through the game is to get home, and even though she's scared out of her mind, she's very single minded and will go through hell to get out of the Belli Castle.

We also learn through her comments towards her surroundings that she's fairly observant. When faced with something horrific, she talks about it with startling honesty. Upon seeing a skeleton, she comments that as much as she wishes she could lie to herself, she knows that what she's looking at is human bones. While Fiona is absolutely horrified by the things she sees, hears, and touches she knows that not accepting them would only be worse on her. Fiona's also rather clever. The Belli Castle is full of tricks and traps that Fiona is forced to solve in order to make it out alive. Despite her intelligence, however, she has no desire to go out of her way to find out why she's in the castle and what relation she has to her stalkers. Instead she dedicates all of her brain power and her motivation to keeping herself safe and finding a way out of the Castle for good.

Fiona is also naturally very kind hearted. She rarely attacks her stalkers, preferring to run away and hide until they've managed to lose her trail. When she does defend herself, it's all non-lethal. Fiona doesn't want to hurt anyone, she just wants to save her own hide. She even tries to sympathise with her attackers, particularly in Debilitas' situation, who isn't trying to attack her at all, he's just mentally handicapped and doesn't know his own strength. Fiona realizes that, and she spares him.

Fiona also tries to reason with Daniella, a homunculus created with several faults: she cannot taste, smell, experience pleasure, pain, or have sex. Upon meeting Fiona, Daniella's hatred towards herself and her jealousy towards Fiona turns her into a murderous cruel person with a severe lack of sanity. Still, Fiona pleads with Daniella on several occasions, asking her why she's doing this. When Daniella does die, which is an accident, Fiona seems to truly regret it, and admits that she wishes that something else could have been done. Keep in mind, Fiona's feeling sympathy for someone that chased her around and tried to kill her several times over, which is a true show of a good heart.

Abilities/Powers: She has little to no abilities. Physically, a mean kick is about as much as she can muster as she's actually fairly weak.

She also has the Azoth within her which can be taken out and used to gain immortality but Fiona doesn't actually have access to it herself so she's not immortal or anything.

Items/Weapons: Her Clothing, Hewie's Collar, 5x Magnesium (small explosive in which to deter perusers)

Would anyone mind telling me where I am? Not that I like asking like this, but I just got done dealing with an unfamiliar situation and I wasn't expecting another to be sprung up on me like this. I'm also quite done with cryptic answers for the day, so if you could, please be straightforward with me. I can handle it, I'm a big girl.

Anyway, I've gone through far too much to simply give up now. If no one knows how to leave, then I'll find an exit on my own.

... Though, if you don't mind me asking, has anyone seen a dog? Pointed ears, white fur, he answers to the name Hewie. He's my best friend and he's saved me more times than I can count and if he's here I refuse to abandon him.

Sample Entry Two:

Fiona woke up, not knowing at all where she's at. Which is something that she's now actually rather used to despite her protests. She rolls over, pushing her head into the pillow, and reaching over blindly to turn off the alarm. Fiona groans, forcing herself out of bed.

Another unusual bed in another unusual room. The difference is, this time, she's not alone. Fiona can see several people in the same situation as her, struggling to wake up and assess the situation. While she doesn't mind the company, she is worried that she's somehow pulled other people into her terrible luck.

And speaking of her terrible luck, where exactly was she? Fiona had just escaped the Belli Mansion using her own wits, only to pass out right afterwards. But while the inside of that Mansion looked dated, this room felt modern in comparison, making her guess she was in a whole new predicament altogether. Hesitantly, she walks over to a window to try to get an idea of what's happened.

A city? It would have taken her at least a day or so to walk to a city. Not to mention the eerie billboard... Did someone carry her? If so, then who, and where were they now? That last question stuck in her head, the weight of it dragging her down as she began looking through anything she could find to dig through. Anything that would give her answers. Her mind and her body were still tired but Fiona knew that, once again, there would be no rest for her.
