We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every two weeks, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. If you wish to request a specific apartment, please do so in the relevant part of the application. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Every attempt will be made to place a character in their chosen apartments, though this may not always be possible depending on the slots available.

Applications are open constantly, but are only processed every other Friday at 7PM EST. The Saturday following acceptance, an IC mingle log will be posted for characters to be introduced to the game.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old.

Abilities/Powers: Hinata, as he is, doesn’t have any abilities or powers. As Kamukura, his body was modified to be the hope of Hope’s Peak, and possesses many, many talents as he was raised up in a secure environment—up until a point, anyhow. Hinata doesn’t know about this, though.
Items/Weapons: A three-star badge, bamboo sword and an apron smock; all three are from people who already died.

Sample Entry:

So— [Hinata looks about as composed as a kidnapped teenager can look. This may or may not be better than his last circumstance, he hasn’t decided yet. A run-down city, potentially dangerous? Or a tropical island, definitely dangerous.] This has probably been asked a ton of times, but. What exactly is the reason that we’re here?

[Nothing to do with mutual killing? Gathering shards of hope? That kind of stuff?]

And it doesn’t have anything to do with a bear, right? Or a rabbit? And no-one here has to— [His mouth suddenly feels dry and he swallows against it, frowns. A hand moves to rub at the side of his neck.] —kill each other, right?

Sorry. [The hell am I saying. Should I even be talking about that stuff? Hinata scrubs his palm agitatedly over his head, ruffling at his own hair.] I guess this is sounding kind of strange.

But it’s not like this is the first time I’ve woken up somewhere strange.

Sample Entry Two: It says something that I’m getting used to waking up in strange places, so thought Hajime Hinata as he dragged himself from the heaviness of sleep to the blaring of an alarm. An alarm he didn’t remember setting. Not in that crappy room in Muscat House. His hand reached out, flailed fruitlessly at air and he reluctantly slit one eye open, then the other. He was expecting to see the ceiling of the dingy room he’d thankfully taken at Sonia’s offer, but. Not so.

What the hell? Was this some kind of joke? He propped himself up on his elbows, tentative in his motions for now. When he recognised the weakness that seemed to permeate his body.

The gnawing at the inside of his stomach told him that he wasn’t at all full from that meagre bit of food Monobear had finally given to them after too many torturous days. Hinata swallowed thirstily and rubbed at his throat, tentatively swinging his feet from the bed to the floor. It was here he allowed himself a look around. Not his cottage at all, he decided fast, taking in six beds (including his own) and the six lumps that hinted at inhabitants but who? He couldn’t begin to guess. Maybe one of his classmates, maybe this was another trick of Monobear’s, a new portion of the Surprise House they had yet to see.

He gnashed his back teeth in silent agitation, frustration. More things to mess with them. More motives to try and get them to kill each other? Except, that already happened. So here he was, waking up in a situation he once again didn’t understand, more bewildering than before. He mashed his forehead down against knuckles, kneading at tight skin with his eyes clenched shut. Think, think, remember, what happened? Nidai. That’s not it, I was just—talking to the girls, and…? Nothing. His mind was as frustratingly blank as it was whenever he tried to remember what his talent was. And oh, he thought often about that, it was the one thing that nagged and nagged at his mind.

There wasn’t really time for something like this, though. He could think on his own later, Hinata decided. If his classmates were slumbering away in these beds, he had to get them up. They had to figure out what was going on.
