We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every two weeks, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. If you wish to request a specific apartment, please do so in the relevant part of the application. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Every attempt will be made to place a character in their chosen apartments, though this may not always be possible depending on the slots available.

Applications are open constantly, but are only processed every other Friday at 7PM EST. The Saturday following acceptance, an IC mingle log will be posted for characters to be introduced to the game.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old.

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

Abilities/Powers: Meta Knight's powers tend to fluctuate with his portrayals, but they usually share a few threads of similarity - none of them, however, are similar to Kirby's powers, despite them being of the same species. He compensates with his inability to inhale enemies and take their power by his mastery with a sword. His capability with a blade is a constant, and he could easily be described as a master swordsman. His small size also makes it easy for him to dodge and maneuver his way around an enemy.

His cape also has some special properties. The Dimensional Cape does what its name implies; it allows Meta Knight to temporarily manipulate space. By shrouding himself in his cape, he can achieve a short state of invisibility or teleportation - just enough so that he can use a dodge technique, escape a bad situation, or to sneak up on an enemy from behind. This cape also has the ability to transform into a set of bat wings, which can be used for flight.

Although it's not a power per se, his mask also has some special properties. MK's white eyes appear yellow as he wears the mask (and Kirby's blue eyes appear green), giving the wearer's eyes a yellow tint. Meta Knight's own eyes may also change colour depending on his mood or state of mind, which can be seen through his mask.

Items/Weapons: Galaxia, a spare mask, and a book on Dream Land's history.

Sample Entry Two: Meta Knight's only wish was to become stronger. Since the day he had taken up the sword, he had sworn to hone his abilities and train to become a warrior that was unparalleled in strength. His wish on Nova and subsequent defeat of Galacta Knight had proven that he had the potential to be the greatest warrior in the galaxy, but there was no such thing as a cap on potential and ability to grow stronger in his mind. He would train until the day he died, and his recent kidnapping to Haven wouldn't change that.

In his time lurking around the apartments to gain information, he had heard whispers of a location in Haven that was riddled with monsters from countless universes of varying strength. It seemed like a perfect venue to train until he was able to assess one of these... humans as a sparring partner. In the meantime, testing Galaxia's sharpness on the flesh of beasts was a necessary alternative. Moving as quietly as possible, he made his way out of his apartment to head to the "Subway Station" that he had heard where these monsters resided. Flying there would be a great deal easier, so he unfolded his wings and took to the skies.

Being away from Dream Land and his fellow Star Warrior was no excuse to take a break. Being brought to Haven meant new challenges and new enemies to face.
