We're so glad you're thinking of joining us in Haven, where we are all safe.

In order to apply for a canon character, please fill out the information below and post it in a comment in this entry. For an OC, please apply using the OC information. Please do not link to applications, all applications must be posted here. Please do not delete your applications; if you do not want it to be seen, you can request for it to be screened after a decision is made.

You may apply for two characters every two weeks, to a total of six characters. Only two of these may be from the same canon, and they cannot be too familiar with one another. Please make sure to mark the header of your comment(s) with RESERVED or NOT RESERVED, as well as the character name and canon. App challenges are not allowed currently.

Try to remember spelling and grammar are important, and in app length quality and not quantity is what matters. If you wish to request a specific apartment, please do so in the relevant part of the application. All parts of the application must be your own work, plagiarism will not be tolerated, though you are welcome to reuse your own old applications.

If you are asked for revisions, please don't panic! It doesn't mean the mods don't like you, only that we probably need more information before making a decision. If you are asked for revisions, you will have one week to supply them.

Every attempt will be made to place a character in their chosen apartments, though this may not always be possible depending on the slots available.

Applications are open constantly, but are only processed every other Friday at 7PM EST. The Saturday following acceptance, an IC mingle log will be posted for characters to be introduced to the game.

We now have a test drive community at haventest which is continuously open. Posts there may be used in lieu of a sample in the application. You may also link posts, logs, or threads from other games and memes in lieu of samples, though we ask that they be no more than one year old.

Crisp chills of air flow about the valley on a fine autumn morning, caressing the cheeks of a Mohawk man as he stalked grasslands for game. Kanen'tó:kon had been after a doe, in the mean time carefully placing traps for smaller kills, such as rabbits or foxes, along edges of various bushes. Every time he went hunting ( today, alone ), Kanen'tó:kon always recalled the tips his old friend had given him some years ago, the lessons they had shared, that now, served as not only valuable information, but memories. He cherished the days Ratonhnhaké:ton still walked the village with him, trekking through trees and causing trouble like two young boys do, and even now welcomed the Assassin with open arms when his friend made visits from Davenport Homestead. Crouched behind a boulder, Kanen'tó:kon watches from the corner of stone as the doe approaches the placed bait near the clearing. There you are; It was his chance to approach.

Bow in hand, the man quickly and swiftly transitions from the boulder to tall grass. Remaining crouched, his eyes stay locked just as a predator would their prey, observant, patient-- and begins to move. The moment brought a brief sensation of excitement-- it always had; the thrill of the hunt, if you will. Kanen'tó:kon carefully reach for one of his arrows, thinking This is it, as he prepared the bow and--

Crack.

The native could only remain wide eyed and inwardly cringe. Oh, no-- With a final crawling step forward, he had managed to step on a bundle of twigs, heavily splitting them in two. This hardly happened, hardly-- yet sometimes it happened. The doe rears her neck upwards, ears shooting up with alert and staring straight in his direction. He knew the animal would bolt even without him in sight in fear, so he takes not a moment less it revealing himself, bow and arrow aimed.

You could bet the moment the deer captured movement, she dashed without waste-- and so did Kanen'tó:kon release the arrow and let it the weapon fly. If it weren't for the startling noise, it would have been a clean, aimed kill. He calculated. She would have given her life quickly and quietly, without struggle, the way it should be. But, instead, the arrow had wounded her thigh, therefore, albeit labored and pained, she still ran.

Kanen'tó:kon clenched his teeth and muttered short words in his native tongue, disappointed in his clean kill gone wrong, and taking off after her. Wait, he whispered-- She would not last, it would not be difficult to catch up; he wanted to as soon as possibly could. She would suffer every moment running, and he hadn't wanted that at all. Surely, Ratonhnhaké:ton would have teased him for the slip up-- yet, quite honestly, it brought a smile to his lips. It would serve as a story to tell when he payed his next visit.
